Narrative
structure
 A narrative structure is about two things: the content of a story
and the form used to tell the story. Two common ways to describe
these two parts of narrative structure are story and plot. Story
refers to the raw materials of dramatic action as they might be
described in chronological order.
There are different types of structures such as:
 Circular
 Episodic
 Linear
 Non-Linear
Circular
 A circular structure is a story that ends in the same place it began
 Circular structure appears in nearly every genre and in the
mythologies of many cultures
 The narrative almost never leaves characters or events unchanged
Episodic
 The Episodic plot structure is made up of a series of chapters or
stories linked together by the same character, place, or theme but
held apart by their individual plot, purpose, and subtext.
Linear  Linear narratives follow a straight line — starting at the beginning,
moving to the middle and proceeding to the end of the story.
Non-Linear
 Nonlinear narrative is a narrative technique, sometimes used in
literature, film, hypertext websites and other narratives, where
events are portrayed, for example out of chronological order, or in
other ways where the narrative does not follow the direct
causality pattern of the events featured, such as parallel
distinctive plot lines, dream immersions or narrating another story
inside the main plot-line.
