Writing an essay on the topic of "My Educational Philosophy" can be a challenging task, as it
requires a deep introspection into one's beliefs and values regarding education. Crafting a
coherent and well-structured essay demands careful consideration of personal experiences,
educational influences, and the underlying principles that guide one's approach to learning and

reflects a genuine and thoughtful perspective on education. It involves delving into the
intricacies of one's educational journey, exploring the impact of various teaching methodologies,
and articulating a vision for the role of education in personal and societal development.
Additionally, the challenge is to strike a balance between personal experiences and broader
educational theories. It requires the ability to connect personal anecdotes with philosophical
concepts, demonstrating an understanding of the broader educational landscape. This synthesis
can be a demanding task, requiring a thoughtful analysis of one's own educational experiences in
the context of established educational theories.

Introduction
This assignment will discuss the area of improvement in my team and the people
involved to bring it to implementation using frameworks and concepts to support the
initiative. I will also explain why it is important to patients, stakeholders and my team
members. How I work with my team will also be review showing the different
leadership styles I will use to get the best possible outcome. I will also show how I
intend to plan the rest of the project over the coming weeks as well as what is left to
further scope for the initiative

Kyoto Protocol And Its Effect On Climate Change
In 1997, the Kyoto Protocol attempted to achieve the results that had been sought
out when most of the nations of the world agreed to the terms set forth in the United
Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 1992. The new
treaty put enforcement mechanisms in place, including the idea of carbon trading,
that would reinforce the importance of lowering the amount of CO2 being released
into our atmosphere. Looking back to that decision made eighteen years ago, I do
not believe that the concept of carbon trading should have been introduced in lieu of
a carbon tax as it is now a crutch used by corporations, both big and small, to either
improve the profitability of their company by selling their unused carbon permits or to
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is not the case for carbon trading as, the protocol, most of the world s wealthy
countries agreed to reduce their GHG emissions by fixed percentage (Weeks, 6),
states Weeks. Weeks explains, if they can t reach the required reductions, rich
nations can also offset some of their GHG emissions by buying credits from energy
saving projects (Weeks, 6). Buying and selling credits is nothing more than a
crutch used to support a pollution dependent economy and just a band aid to an
ever growing problem. Carbon credits do nothing more than give polluters a lawful
way to continue releasing excessive amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, which is
a reason why the Kyoto treaty does not work, rather it allows climate change to
continue spiraling out of control. Carbon s Hasselknippe states, Some offset
projects in North America [where companies are experimenting with emission
reductions and trading] are even more questionable than CDM projects. Without a
regulated market anything goes (Weeks, 32). With the aforementioned, it is vividly
clear that carbon trading is a problem and not a solution as it was destined to fail
from the start given the lack of government oversight. There are more direct ways to
put a price on carbon emissions that would potentially cause the American businesses
the fear of losing profit. One example of this is carbon tax. In Weeks article she
shares, Others say curbing climate change will require both taxes and trading, plus

Cultural Assimilation Should Be Viewed As A Positive Or...
By definition, cultural assimilation is the process whereby individuals or groups of
differing ethnic heritage are absorbed into the dominant culture of a society. The
process of assimilating involves taking on the traits of the dominant culture to such a
degree that the assimilating group becomes socially indistinguishable from other
members of the society. During this process, ethnic individualities, characteristics,
and traits of the minority population can disappear. Unfortunately, this is the opposite
of multiculturalism, which stresses the significance of promoting different cultures,
ethnicities, and races within a single jurisdiction. While multiculturalism promotes
diversity among society, assimilation can and does morphs us into much of the same
mold. However, assimilation also opens new doors, opportunities, and experiences to
those that may never have experienced them otherwise. Ultimately, assimilation to
some degree is seemingly unavoidable, as those from different countries must learn to
adapt to their new surroundings. This leads to the question of whether cultural
assimilationshould be viewed as a positive or negative experience. Should being
American require immigrants as well as international students to feel pressured to
integrate and conform to the culture? Does this process of integrating come naturally,
or is it forced upon them? In short, do we really want immigrants to assimilate?
Answering this question on cultural assimilation is important

The Dark Side Of Drugs
Drugs have been consumed by humans over thousands of years; whether it was a
Native American eating peyote for a spiritual experience, or a more modern day
liberal smoking a joint to relax after a day at work. As more types off mass media
began to emerge throughout the twentieth century, society was exposed to
polarizing views on drug use. For the sake of this paper, I will be focusing on a
comedy that gets most of its humor out of the various side effects of this widely
debated drug. Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle is a film about two friends in
their mid 20s who, at the beginning of the movie, don t seem to be going anywhere
with their lives. The two aren t necessarily burnouts per say, but neither one of
them are taking full advantage of their previous educations or the resources around
them. After a particularly stressful day at work, the guys are watching television
while smoking a new strain of marijuana that Kumar had gotten his hands on. As
they were staring at the TV, getting high, a commercial for White Castle came on
which had them drooling. Throughout the rest of the movie we watch as the two of
them go on an adventure in search of the cheap sliders. In Drugs and Society, we
have discussed how addiction and the use of drugs can have an effect on more
people than the user alone. Kumar s marijuana habits have factored into his lazy
lifestyle, which upsets his family. While on their journey to White Castle, Harold
gets bit by a raccoon and goes to the
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dual Citizenship
Dual citizenship refers to an individual who is recognised as a national in two
countries concurrently (U.S. Department of State). It exists when one applies for
citizenship in a country other than the one they were born in. There has been much
controversy shrouding the topic because some feel that restricting dual citizenship
violates human rights, while others see it as something that would potentially dilute
national identity. However, Singapore has taken a firm stand, and opposed such laws.
This essay will explore both the advantages and disadvantages of dual citizenship, but
contend that dual citizenship poses more as a threat than a benefit to Singapore s
society. Due to the influx of permanent residences, the demand for the consent...

Therefore, it is to be ensured that Singaporeans are loyal to their home country.
Having Singapore citizens with dual citizenship means that those people have
divided allegiance to two countries. This leads to another question. Do the people
with dual citizenship see themselves as Singaporeans or Americans (for example)?
What happens if Singapore faces a war? Who is to say that they will remain
steadfast and defend Singapore? They might just flee to their second home . Then
does this not serve as a disadvantage to citizens who were born and raised in
Singapore? Albeit unlikely to happen, the safety that we experience in Singapore
must not be taken for granted. Singapore needs unwavering citizens who will not
abandon it when times get tough. It gives other countries the excuse to bully and
look down upon Singapore. Another issue that arises which is also related to
Singapore s defense is the requirement for males with dual citizenship to serve
National Service (NS). Is it still mandatory for them to serve NS even if they are
living abroad? Thus, there are many complexities that need to be ironed out, should
dual citizenship be allowed in
Freedom Of Expression
What is art? Can it be defined in any single painting, or sculpture? Is it even
something that can be seen, or does it have to be experienced? The term quot;art
quot; is so vague that it can be applied to almost anything, really. Mostly, however, art
should be that which frees our imagination. It connects our conscious with our
subconscious, putting into a visual form what we feel and think. It allows us to
explore our inner selfand fill that urge to understand our minds and our universe. Art
helps us to see beyond the ordinary, to see what is in our hearts without being
blinded by reality. When an artist creates a painting, it is not to create a picture; it is
to create a feeling or mood. The purpose is to convey an emotion, and, it is... Show

At that time, Mayor Rudolph Guiliani, after having viewed the exhibit, threatened to
withdraw city financial support to the museum.
The Mayor labeled the exhibit quot;sick quot; and quot;offensive to Catholics
quot;, and made no secret that his objections were based on his personal dislike of
the contents of the show. He criticized the work of Chris Ofili, specifically a
painting called The Holy Virgin Mary, because of its use of elephant dung. Ofili, a
British artist of Nigerian descent, uses elephant dung in many of his works as a
reference to his African roots. As an observant Catholic himself, he denies that his
work is either anti Catholic or anti religious. He meant the dung to be a symbol of
life and providence, however this simple explanation was not enough to satisfy
Guilani. His threats to withdraw funding stood firm. Offili told the New York
Times, quot; The people who are attacking this painting are attacking their own
interpretation, not mine. quot; Damien Hirst, whose display was also part of the
show, said that the mayor quot;may as well say, I only like Picasso and if you don t

Essay on Interview with the Vampire
Interview with the Vampire Book vs. Movie
I cannot speak for all, but I find watching the movie much more interesting than
reading the book. I find that the movie paints a perfect picture well on the other hand
reading the book you have to let your imagination take over and create images in
your head of what might the scene look like. Interview with the Vampirewas a well
written book and a well developed movie after reading the book and the watching the
movie I found the movie much more entertaining then reading the book. In this essay

Even though the settings were very similar, I still found the movie much more
entertaining to watch.
The film has a sense of humor that the book never even alluded to. Some scenes
are unchanged in the movie from the book. That s why I found that the plot in the
movie was exactly as it was in the book. There is a scene where Louis first feeds
off of Claudia and her transformation, and there is also a scene at the Theatre de
Vampires are practically word for word from the book. There is a scene where
Claudia sleeps in Louis coffin this also accurse in the movie. There is also a scene
where Lestat locks a whore in a coffin which also accurse in the movie but much
more entertaining to watch then read. Also, Lestat s two demises are the same,
though there is no vampire musician who accompanies Lestat at that point in the
book. Though the line about I know someone who would make a better vampire
than you is still there. There are also fore more scenes that are the same. I also
found that the plot in the movie and the plot in the book occur at the same time.
The plot occurs when, Louis and Claudia a 6 year old girl decide to kill their
creator, Leastat and move to Paris. Lestat loved the blood of man and women. He
would bite, and then kill. Louis hated that. He survived on rats and chickens. Louis
made one bite on a human that he regretted. It was a little girl, Claudia. He left her
to die. Lestat saw this and decided that he would not let Louis ever
Risk Factors For Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Risk Factors Major risk factors for hepatocellular carcinoma include infection with
HBV or HCV, alcoholic liver disease, and most probably non alcoholic fatty liver
disease. Less common causes include hereditary hemochromatosis, alpha1 antitrypsin
deficiency, autoimmune hepatitis, some porphyrias, and Wilson s disease, aflatoxin
ingestion, exposure to inorganic arsenic through drinking water (Shamseddine et al.,
2009). The distribution of these risk factors among patients with hepatocellular
carcinoma is highly variable, depending on geographic region and race or ethnic
group (El Serag and Rudolph, 2007). Most of these risk factors lead to the formation
and progression of cirrhosis, which is present in 80 to 90% of patients with

Four Primary Tissues
1.The four primary tissues of the human body, epithelial, connective, muscular, and
nervous tissue. Epithelial tissue functions as a covering or lining for the internal
organs found throughout the body as skin, in the digestive tract absorbing nutrients,
and lining the inside of blood vessels. As a glandular tissue that excretes substances
for waste or for bodily uses of the exocrine/endocrine systems. Connective tissue is the
most abundant tissue found in the body, ranging from tendon and ligaments
connecting bones together, bones for structural support. Muscular tissue provide

thermal regulation. Nervous tissue is found in the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral...

Exocrine gland release substances through ducts or tubes that lead the external
surface of the membrane, sweat glands, saliva, or the gastrointestinal tract. Endocrine
gland doesn t have any duct that lead to the surface, it diffuses its secretion into the
bloodstream.
4.Different types of muscles. Smooth muscle cells are shaped in spindles with single
nucleus, have involuntary movement through the body and do not have any striation.
Smooth muscle can be found in digestive system, urinary tract. Muscular cells are
found as bundles, with striation and are multiple nucleus found along the membrane
surface. Cardiac muscle cells are only found in the heart, the cells short, branched
with a centrally located, single nucleus and are striated with intercalated disc found
between to speed up the electrical conduct of the heart rhythm without external
stimulus.
5.There are two types of nervous system cells, they receive and send electrochemical
responses to the body. Neuron cells are the conducting cells of the nervous system.
Neurons have a cell body with dendrites branching from the main body, an axon
which is the long tail that extends from the main body that is wrapped in myelin to
create a protective sheath around the axon that also helps speed the
neurotransmissions. The glial cell is the supporting cells of the
Lord Brahm The Father Of Hindu Gods And God
Brahma, the father of Hindu gods and men, is depicted as the creator of the
universe. He is the first member of the Hindu Trinity and ruler of all. Brahma is
acknowledged as the creator as he periodically creates everything in the universe,
periodically due to the Hindu cyclical belief of everything being created for a
certain period of time and destroyed only to be renewed in a new form once again.
Of the three greatest Hindu deities, Lord Brahmadominates the first position, that of
the creator. As creator of all things, Brahma must have people of his own flesh; the
most significant one, Goddess Saraswathy, consort and daughter of Brahma. Besides
Saraswathy, there are four sages that roam the universeas Brahma s first mind born
creations and sons; Sanaka, Sanatana, Sananadana and Sanatkumara. The four
Kumaras were the only sons born out of Brahma s mind rather than his body and
were the only ones who refused his order to procreate, therefore devoted themselves
to Vishnuand celibacy. Brahma then went on to creating ten sons (Prajapatis) from his
mind, who are acknowledged as the fathers of the human race.
Lord Brahma s birth story is unique in its setting. He is said to have been born from
Vishnu s navel through the lotus flower. After the great flood, Vishnu summoned his
creative powers and formed earth in the shape of a lotus escalating from his navel. It
is believed that Brahma developed from this lotus, therefore having the lotus
symbolize his birth. Brahma then

garden benefits families who want to experience a rewarding and enjoyable
hobby. Growing a garden reduces the amount of money for groceries, families
spend at the store. Therefore, families who garden at home do not need to spend
money on gas, and instead, pick the food out from their own garden. Because
families will have money left over, they can use it on other expenses. Other types
of food may be harder to keep fresh but the natural garden foods will be savory on
their own. In this case, families who get what they need from the garden will enjoy
the food as well. Moreover, growing a garden is straightforward so, families can
cooperate and involve the whole family in the simple recreational activity. Not only
will there be time for bonding, but also be a great way to stay active and includes
great health benefits. Endurance, flexibility, and strength are the three different types
of exercises associated with gardening. Gardening benefits the whole family and it is

How Does Fielding Present The Character Of The Novel A...
In the novel A Passage to India by E M Forster there many different character that
each reflect ideas, some of the ideas would be relevant to a Victorian audience.
There are a plenty of ideas that reflects the attitudes and values common in the early
20th Century. Forster uses each of the characters to represent different ideas and
values towards issues like racism, which is present throughout the novel.
Cyril Fielding is a very interesting and unique character in the novel A Passage to
India , because some of his ideas wouldn t be relevant to a Victorian audience and
he has a more modern attitude. Cyril Fielding is an interesting character because
he is the most associated to the Forster out of all the characters; the character
portrays Forster s attitudes and values at the time he wrote the book (1924).
Amongst all the Englishmen who are living in Chandrapore Fielding isn t very
successful in comparison in developing relationships with the native Indians.
Fielding isn t a very racist character and doesn t share the same views as characters
like Rony. Fielding is an educator however he is less comfortable in the usual teacher
student environment; he prefers a more one on one teaching style. His preference in
teaching style shows that Fielding (and Forster) see the world as a bunch of unique
individuals who connect with each other through respect and courtesy for each other.
Fielding s attitude towards teaching the Indians show s that he values as intellects as

How I Really Like The Opening Sentence
First of all, I really like the opening sentence. It immodestly caught my attention
and made me want to read more. It explains how it can be easy to forget that we all
live in a physical world. We are actually part of something, not just an imagination. It
then goes on to explain that we live in such a digital age, and everything we hear,
see, games, apps, videos, news articles, and photographs are produced by us, real
humans. But the things that we consider genuine do not actually exist. This really
makes you think, what does this mean? Well, for example I am reading this on my
laptop, and the letters I am reading an typing are conceived as impulses or energy
rather than things. Old photos have been scanned and made digital. Even though we
can hold the printed imagephysically, it has a place in the world. It s occupying
space. The mid 1940 s has physical presence as well. The images I am about to talk
about are accurate representations of a city struggling to rebuild and again some
sense of normality after suffering destruction of WW2. The damage of the images,
like the spot, mold, etc, are eerie but they provide another way to consider what we
call real. All of the things McAvoy captured, did happen. Yet, after the war, the only
to you could find was hunger, cold, and depression. His images were taken and
transformed into something else that was ear abstract, ghostly works, within which
one can still see remnants of the robust photojournalism that McAvoy
Exploring The Cost Of Hydraulic Fracturing Essay
Exploring the Cost of Hydraulic Fracturing in Colorado: What are the potential
effects of the Tres Rio 2016 Oil and Gas Lease/Sale on Montezuma County s public
health, ecological communities, and economic stability?
Introduction
Hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, is a technique often administered by oil and gas
companies in order to create fissures within subsurface shale formations. After a
site is established, the initial step entails breaking through the soil and stone via a
bit placed at the end of a drill. As the drill moves through the rock layers, it utilizes
air pressure to drive fragmented rocks to the surface. The drill ceases immediately
after it comes into contact with the first indication of fresh water. Once the drill is
removed, cement is incorporated into the drilled hole in an effort to prevent
contamination of the water source and as a safety measure.
Secondary steps require a perforated gun producing high magnitude electrical currents
to be introduced down the wellbore (oil field terminology pertaining to a hole
generated from oil/gas exploration), helping drive holes into the cement and
ultimately enabling a channel for gas flow. The gun is then removed. Under high
pressure, the drill pumps a solution of water, sand, and chemicals into the established
site, allowing the gas (methane) to be released and stored.
Finally, a pipeline constructed from the storage space to the consumer market
supplies the gas as an energy source. Radioactive waste water also

Vonnegut, Billy Pilgrim and Roland Weary are some of the first characters you

different yet very similar. Billy and Roland are similar even if they don t realize it.
Both characters, Billy Pilgrim and Roland Weary, are imaginative. Billy has a

Right? A slit closes up. Right? Right. Shit. What do you know? What the hell they

As you can tell after reading that quote, Billy isn t exactly the brightest bulb in the
bunch. Not only does he not understand a word Roland is saying to him, but he also
responds with the simplest and easiest answer every time Roland questions him,
even if it s rhetorical. Roland is his own brand of stupid. As quoted in this line He
had been unpopular because he was stupid and fat and mean... (Vonnegut 35).
Though they are very similar, Billy Pilgrim and Roland Weary also have many
differences between themselves. An example of a difference is Billy doesn t care
about life while Roland does. Roland Weary is always trying and nothing matters
to Billy Pilgrim. Roland s life in the war is described as, ...There was a big German

The show I went to see was called the Dogfight, The Musical at USC Upstate
theatre production on April 9, 2016. The director of the production was Lee
Neibert, the designers of the production was the set designer Jake Salgado and
makeup designer was Corey McGill. The playwright theme was back in history
when there was a lot of fighting. The play had two themes for me. One of the points
that I got was that you can not judge people for their outer appearances and to stop
worrying what other people think. Another point that I got from the play was that
you can not take life for granted because you never know what will happen. The two
leading characters I want to talk about are Bethany Lancaster and Garrett Gibson who
did an outstanding job.
Institutional Review Board Summary
An Institutional review board (IRB) is an appropriately constituted group that has
been designated to review and monitor biomedical research involving human
subjects. In accordance with FDA regulations, an IRB has the authority to approve,
require modifications in or disapprove research. It serves an important role in the
protection of the rights and welfare of human research subjects. The purpose of
IRB review is to assure that appropriate steps are taken to protect the rights and
welfare of humans participating as subjects in the research, hence, IRB approval
must be obtained prior to conducting a research project. To accomplish this purpose,
IRBs use a group process to review research protocols and related materials like

Everest Is A Simulation Game Created By A Collaboration...
1.Executive Summary Everest, is a simulation game created by a collaboration
between Forio Business Simulations and Harvard Business School, in which the
objective is to virtually climb to the top of the world, Mount Everest. The gruelling
virtual climb is meant to reflect real life problems of climbing a mountain, such as
oxygen scarcity, volatile health conditions, and unpredictable weather. One of the
main features of the climb however is the students who are thrown randomly in
groups of 5 7, and are expected to collaborate and ultimately climb to the summit.
The intuitive design of the simulation gives each team member a wide variety of
information, distinct goals, and one role. The information is intentionally restricted
towards certain individuals due to their roles. The goals are aligned with the roles of
group member, the team leader s goal is to get everyone to the top of summit. There
was two attempts in climbing the mountain. The first approach involved an autocratic
leadershipstyle, combined with limited communication, and group conformity ended
in unsatisfactory results. The second time, with lessons learned from the first attempt,
was overall better, as tasks was delegated, combined with shared decision making and
improved communication, showed a significant improvement in performance.
Although, Everest is an oversimplification of various organisational models, the
experiences received for the team, as well as myself were tremendous. This
My Love Of Music
Ever since I was a little girl I would sing everywhere, in the bathroom, the car, at
school, and at parties but my favorite spot has always been in the shower. I would
never sing in front of my brother, he would always tease me about my voice. Being
teased made me feel like I wasn t good enough. Because of that I stopped singingfor a
while. At that time, I didn t know what to do singing had been part of my life even
before I even came out the womb. I ve been told my aunt would sing to me
frequently. I felt completely at lost, I was unidentifiable with myself. I need music
in my life. In elementary I spent most of my time in the music room with my
music teacher, he would give me tips to improve my voice. Not only did he teach
me how project my voice and overall make me sound better, he also taught me how
to play various instruments. For starters, I developed a growing love for piano. I am
deeply grateful for the personal time he took to develope my love for music, sadly I
took a break at 15 because after I helped my brother move into his dorm five hours
away from his home, I came home and felt a little lost.
I found my second obsession a few months later. It was often referred to as Tiny
guitar with four strings . It was a ukulele my music teacher never corrected me, he
would alway smile or laugh. After a long day of school he pulled me aside, he told
me how proud he was to see me continue my passion for music and he bought me a
ukulele. I still have the ukulele
Hampton Roads Case Study
Living in the Hampton roads area has a huge military community with not only one
of the largest Naval shipyards, but also one of the largest area of veterans in the
Nation with over 220,000. With such a large number of veterans and the number
continues to grow everyday causes some issues not only in the Hampton Roadsarea
but also around the U.S. One of the major issues we run into being veterans is our
health care, you would think living in an area with the largest consecration of
veterans we would have the best clinics and largest hospitals, but that is defiantly not
the case. We also have some of the worse health care in the nation, they are more
concerned with pumping vet s full of drugs and not fixing the actual problems that

Their attitudes are crappy, one woman said. You have to get rid of them. A 25 year
old veteran, Marshall Stipes, acknowledged that he s gotten excellent care from
some VA doctors. But mistakes by one bad one forced him to undergo a spine
operation by a non VA surgeon, he said, causing his family to go broke. Stipes
described endless phone calls to the VA because he was repeatedly passed off to
someone else. The problems never should have gotten so bad that a hospital
director would need to give out his cellphone number, he said (Vets air out
frustrations at Hampton VA forum, 2014). I as well just had an issue with a
doctor, to start off I had to wait three months to see my primary care doctor for a
routine visit. I explained to him that I have been in and out of the hospital and ER
the last couple of months for my hip and lower back pain. I also told him that my
hip pain has got a lot worse since the last time I saw him and my spasms in my
back have caused me at times not being able to walk, when those times hit me my
pain meds fail to work. After the exam was done I asked him if I could maybe get
an MRI on my hip to see what is going on, he then answers me and says You do not
need an MRI your x ray from six months ago looks fine it is just a little pain and
this is a constant issue that not only I have to deal with but other Veterans have to
as well. Not only are the wait times to see a doctor could range anywhere from two
weeks to three months is the way Veterans get their medication. There is only one
window where you can pick up your medication, this window is only open from
8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday and closed on the weekends. If you go to
the ER and have to get meds your wait time could be anywhere from 15 minutes to 2
hours, and during the week since the
Moliere s Tartuffe Is Cleante
Moliere s Tartuffe is a piece of literature originating in France during the 17th century,
which was the so called age of Enlightenment or the Age of Reason. Plato would most
likely approve of the message that Moliere tries to push through Tartuffe. That is:
rationality and reason trump all. Plato may not be the most supportive of art and
literature but if it happens to be a medium that lends to his principles of reason, logic,
rationality and above all the maintenance of the social order then he would happily
approve. The type of Enlightenment thinking in western society differs substantially
from the Eastern Asian philosophies. Enlightenment thinkers bring faith in reason,
logic and rationality into the forefront of Western culture. Tartuffe is a piece that is
born into a culture that values the beliefs of the age of rationalism, or practical...

Hypocrisy, passion and emotions are seen as obstacles to the truth and real ideals
as Plato would have seen it. Likewise, religious passion is seen as an obstacle to
true forms of faith and piety. Cleante is the voice of reason because his insight
identifies the real character of Tartuffe. He tries to reason with Orgon, even well
after Tartuffe is exposed and his job could be considered fait accompli. He
continues to promote good sense without being condescending and he is pious
without being overtly religious. Unlike Tartuffe, Cleante s faith is not based on
false devotion. Cleante s respect for the King and for social order is also a sign of the
Age of Reason and the original ideas of the perfect society expressed in Plato s
Republic. Plato would agree with Moliere s support of a civil secular society based
on reason trumping over a religious one based on emotion. Lastly by showing a
healthy mistrust of passion, Cleante serves as an example of the Enlightenment and a

Rocket History
The history of the rocket dates way back to 400 B.C. One of the first rockets to
successfully break the principles essential to rocket flight was a wooden bird.
Escaping steam propelled the birdwas suspended from some wires. The pigeon used
the action reaction principle, which was not stated as a scientific law until the 17th
century. In 1989 Russian teacher Konstantin Tsiokovsky puts forward the idea of
using rockets for space exploration. Tsiokovsky says liquid propellants would gain
greater range. In 1969 Apollo 11 is the first space flight to land people on the Moon.

First we measured out where the fins would go on the body of the rocket. Next we
made the part of the rocket that would help it fly, i think it s called the motor

fit in the body, and put tape around the nose cone. The motor was then placed into
the tube. The fins went on next with some glue, and the launch lug so it can fly
further. All of this was sealed with sealer. The last thing we did was place the
wadding, and the parachute in the body, and we were good to go. Painted it all nice,
and neatly. The rocket will launch when we put an igniter into the bottom, then you
get a plug to make sure it is in there sturdy. You will then hook the wire s from the
control to the wires on the igniter, and then you re ready to

San Joaquin River Restoration Project
San Joaquin River Restoration Project:
Irrigating the Valley
The San Joaquin River is the backbone of the San Joaquin Valley. The valley is not
only the nation s most agricultural area but it is also one of the entire worlds.
Millions depend on the crops that come form this luscious valley. The river has
gone through many drastic changes over its illustrious lifetime. Once it was a
magnificent 350 miles long it is now one of the nation s ten most endangered rivers.
The river once flowed with enough water to support steam ships and a salmon
migration it now goes completely dry in some areas. The river does not have enough
water to support itself any more and must take in water from various other places,
such as the Pacific Ocean which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Two of the projected plans include keeping things the way they are and allowing
more of the water in Friant Dam to flow into the river to bring back the former
environment that was once there as well as improve the conditions for west side
farmers. The two plans contrast drastically with each other but both have positive and
negative consequences.
If the east side farmers have it there way they will continue to be able to produce
crops and farming on the east side will still be a possibility. The Friant Dam has
been irrigating the east side of the valley since 1944. Over 95% of all water
collected at Millerton is used to help agriculture. It waters one million acres of
farmland and because of it in the last 40 years the farming on the east side has taken
over Southern California as the states leader in citrus farming, the value of this is 2.1
billion and it continues to grow. Although the farmers would prosper the
environment would still suffer and the salmon run of yester year would still be an
impossibility. The east side farmers argue that if there water was taken away only
about a quarter of the east side could be farmed without Millerton. Without Millerton
s water the farmers would have had to continue to pump their water from
underground aquifers and if that had happened those aquifers would have gone dry
60 years ago. If the environmentalist and
Contagion In Mass Shootings
Study author Sherry Towers, research professor in the ASU Simon A. Levin
Mathematical, Computational and Modeling Sciences Center, explained, The
hallmark of contagion is observing patterns of many events that are bunched in
time, rather than occurring randomly in time. Her team examined databases on past
high profile mass killings and school shootings in the U.S. and fit a contagion
model to the data to determine if these tragedies inspired similar events in the near
future. They determined that mass killings events with four or more deaths and
school shootings create a period of contagion that lasts an average of 13 days.
Roughly 20 to 30 percent of such tragedies appear to arise from contagion. Their

How To Grow Up In Hip Hop Culture
If fish are the worst to ask about water, the medium they move, grow and
experience life through, perhaps the same can be said for culture . It s difficult to
take notice of something of which you are an intrinsic part. There need to be an
elapse of time to take notice. In some cases there are events that stretches out,
lengthen and perhaps deepen our perceptions. For me it has moved to Jersey City
out of necessity and living here for almost three years now.
While I do work and spend all my free time in the City, it wasn t until I heard about

Sometimes the facts weren t 100% accurate but you shouldn t underestimate what
that means to have something uniquely yours. Being always depicted in the media

Soft Power In Japan And The Soft Power Of Japan
The soft power is increasingly important in the international relations. It can improve
the influence of a country and indirectly his economic and political power. The

Symptoms and Long-Term Effects of Depression
Depression is a psychiatric disorder characterized by an inability to concentrate,
insomnia, loss of appetite, feelings of extreme sadness, guilt, helplessness and
hopelessness, and thoughts of death. People that are depressed have sadness greater
and more prolonged than that warranted by any objective reason. It is a serious
illness that affects thoughts, feelings, and the ability to function in everyday life.
Thirteen to fourteen million Americans suffer from depression in any given year and
over sixteen percent have depression at some point in time. (Depression health)

Sometimes depressed people are unrealistically pessimistic about their health.
Depressed patients in a hospital, although they did improve considerably during
two years, still thought less of their mental and physical health than regular
medical patients. Depressed people always remember how they felt and some
people will think they are still depressed because they are different than they used
to be. So they just want to go back to the way they were before. Depression does
have effects on the mind. But it just depends on how long you let the things affect

Barack Obama s Presidential Run
I recently stumbled upon a short video published by The New York Times in 2008
during the pinnacle of Barack Obama s presidential run. This video, entitles Being
Multiracial in America, featured a group of young, mixed race College students
elated that the United States would potentially elect a man that grew up in a blended
culture comparable to their own. There was this conspicuous desire shared among
these students to live in a society understanding of the intricacies of one s racial
identity. None of these students wished to identify themselves as only one of their
races. They wanted to eliminate this illusion of racial choice. To these young people,
one person shouldn t choose what sole racethey are because they exist within this
category of both . The complexity of their own genetic makeup was something they
felt would be eradicated by aligning themselves with only a percentage of
themselves. Seeing a man run for president who made it known to the country that
his mother was White and his father was Black overjoyed these individuals. There
was an astounding sense of hope that Barack Obama provided for this group. Their
prospect was that once the people of this nation understood that mixed raced
individuals can acknowledge themselves as such, we would be on our way to
eradicating this intense racial divide, leading to so much violence and anger, that
exists within our country. Eight years later, this country is now at the brink of saying
farewell to Obama.

Religion Of Euthanasia Research Paper
The Ethics and Religion of Euthanasia
Euthanasia is the idea of helping a person who decided they wanted to die meet
their end quickly and painlessly. This is also called assisted suicide. Most of the
cases of euthanasia are related to a terminally ill person who wishes to end their life
as easy as possible, rather than suffering through the effects of the illness killing them.
The topic of euthanasia is one of the biggest controversies in medicine today, due to
the religious and ethical problems of interfering with the natural right to a natural

What Is The Mood Of The Haunting Of Hill House
This essay will be discussing the setting of the book The Haunting of Hill House by
Shirley Jackson, in addition to the setting it will also be talking about how the setting
affected the character. The setting of the book is an important aspect of The
Haunting of Hill House , it is important because it creates the mood of the setting and
how it sets up the plot of the story.
In Shirley Jackson s The Haunting of Hill House the setting already creates the
mood in the beginning of the story. In the part after Eleanor leaves with the car and
reaches the Hill House the setting is already is created by the words that Shirley
Jackson used to describe the house, Almost any house, caught unexpectedly or at an
odd angle, can turn a deeply humorous look on a watching person; even a
mischievous little chimney, or a dormer like a dimple, can catch up a beholder with
a sense of fellowship; but a mouse arrogant and hating, never off guard, can only be
evil. (Jackson 24), this quote is setting the mood of the whole story before anything
related to the plot happens. This is setting the mood because the character Eleanor is
describing the Hill House as if it was a face, by personifying, giving it features like
dimples , and also giving it a character like arrogant and hating , which shows that

Business Negotiations Advantages And Disadvantages
Business negotiations are deliberations that ensue from different motivating factors
and whose agenda have a common ground. Such a phenomenon brings the
conflicting sides together in the aim of seeking a lasting solution to the conflict.
Often the conflicts being resolved emanatefrom interests among the parties, which
happen to be coinciding. As such, one party feels less advantaged and seeks
reprieve. It is a common case nowadays and it features a series of across the table
discussions, which happen to be under the watch of the court system. Therefore, both
partners have the privilege of accessing the courts in case they feel there is a breach
of contact or patentfor that matter. The negotiations between apple and Samsung are a
perfect eоЂЂample of such a phenomenon. In this case, apple accuses Samsung of
breach of its patent rights. Apple claims that Samsung copied the look and feel of an
iphone, through their galaоЂЂy brand. !illing of the case was in #$$ when the
conflict began. The issue of business negotiations is a common phenomenon these
days especially on matters of patents and royalties. The desire to protect the uni%ue
characteristics of various products has become a fundamental element of business
negotiations nowadays. It is often argued that in order to hold enough leverage to
such a negotiation, one should commence the negotiations way before the two parties
even meet face to face on the table negotiations. Only that way, will a given party

Compare And Contrast Stalin And Lenin
Lenin vs Stalin
Both Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin were horrible leaders of the USSR but each
do have their positives and negatives. For instance, Lenin started off by giving
proletarians (workers in general) limited amount of freedoms but then created a new
policy when the people disagreed with them. Stalin, on the other hand, made Russia
into an industrialized nation. However, this did cost lives of millions of people by
going to corrective labour camps. In my opinion, I believe that Vladimir Lenin was
the better leader.
I feel this because Lenin did have an intent to create a true communist state by having
a classless society while with Stalin, he wanted the USSR to make more money and
get further industrialized. In both cases it did

The...
The novel The Wind in the Willows portrayed numerous aspects of the author
Kenneth Grahame s life within its contents. Some of these aspects included social,
psychological, and other components of the author s life. Within his book parts of his
life included were the people from his life. These people were Kenneth Grahames
father, his son Alastair, and his friend Sir Arthur Quiller Couch
. One of the people
from his life who was transformed into a memorable character was his son Alastair.
The Wind in the Willows was a novelbased on bedtime stories about the character
named Toad, the stories of which were told to Alastair in effort to soothe him to
sleep. When Kenneth took the stories and adapted them into a novel, he used
qualities from his son and used them in the character Mole. Mole could easily be
described as a mild mannered, as well as home loving animal. He was the first
character to be introduced in the story. Within the first chapter of the novel Mole
ventured outside of his underground home. Soon after coming outside Mole
realized the fast moving pace of life around the riverbank. Although cautious at
first, Mole soon adapted with help from his new found friends. Since birth Alastair
had complications that made life increasingly more difficult as he grew up. One of
the largest complications that was faced by Alastair was that he was blinded in one
eye since birth. While also faced with other disabilities, Alastair s problem was the
blindness he retained. Similar to how Mole adapted to his surroundings by the
riverbank, Alastair adapted to life with disabilities while keeping a mild mannered
attitude. In addition to the adaptation, Alastair accepted help from many people like
his father and mother like Mole accepted help from his friends. Mole went through
complications as well throughout the chapters within the novel. One of these
complications is how when Mole became impatient to meet Badger and went off on
his own to find him, leading to him becoming lost in the woods until his friend Rat
finds him. A complication similar to what Mole went through was how Alastair got
ejected from many different schools until finally a school called Christ Church
accepted him. This memorable character of Mole can
Ann Bradstreet s Legacy

Ann Bradstreet
Religion and the legacy she hoped to leave her children
Ann Bradstreet was always very close with her father Thomas Dudley. Thomas
Dudley wanted to make sure she received a superior education and passed on his
Puritan beliefs to her. Ann writes that when she moved with her family to the new
world, her heart rose in resistance towards this new world and new manners . After
I was convinced it was the way of God, I submitted to it and joined the church at
Boston (1). Unfortunately, Anne s daily life was hard because the rheumatic fever
she had as a child compromised her health and left her with frequent fatigue. Even so,
she still risked dying during childbirth which was a common issue at the time, and
she did so eight times. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One meditation depicted that Ann was constantly worried about whether or not the
Scriptures were true considering that she never saw any miracles. Ann wrote that
she would be more inclined to believe the Scriptures if she could see the miracles
with her own eyes and took pleasure in everyday life rather than how the future was
written in the Scriptures. She wrote, that I see, the vast frame of the heaven and the
earth, the order of all things, night and day, summer and winter, spring and autumn,
the daily providing for this great household upon the earth, the preserving and
directing of all to its proper end (1). Anne regularly questioned her Puritan beliefs,
even going as far as to question God Himself, and thus her admiration for nature
caused a conflict in her
Native Americans Vs. The Native English-Speaking People
The difference in the two languages seem to reflect basically different ways of
identifying or understanding a person; The native English speaking people are likely
to understand a person starting with his/her present situation, while Koreans tend to
grasp the others starting with their origin. This interpretation is partly supported by
the order of information listed in one s CV or resume in English and Korean, which
is another type of introduction text of a person; While Koreans enumerate relevant
facts starting with those of the past, it is the other way around in English, i.e., present
to past. This interpretation is supported again by a study of another type of
introduction text, biography. According to Kim (2016), who analyzed the
Barnes Foundation Controversy
Alfred Barnes, who had a passion for collecting famous artworks for educating and
developing character within individuals, founded The Barnes Foundation in 1922.
He housed his collection in his estate, which was located in the suburbs of Merion,
Pennsylvania. Barnes believed that the everyday man should have the opportunity to
visit and appreciate honored artworks as well as to improve from the estate s
educational courses. Education is the priority; in fact, Barnes believed that the
foundation should not be considered an art museum. As stated by Barnes, the
purpose of the foundation was, to be maintained perpetually for education in the
appreciation of the fine arts and as an educational experiment. The controversy arises
decades after Barnes death. Barnes passed away in 1951 and contained in his will, he
specifically stated that in the Barnes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Glanton started to increase admission prices, added a gift shop, and took other
commercialized steps to create a more standard art museum. All of these measures
went against Alfred Barnes s original intent for the educational facility, where he
specifically stated the collection should not be used for commercial display. Glanton
argues that the purpose was to raise money for the renovation and care for the
building and collection. Add why his argument is discredited. Another ethical breach
Glanton spearheaded in, was the decision to move the entire Barnes collection to
downtown Philadelphia, rather than following Barnes s instruction to preserve the
artworks perpetually in his estate. Again, Glanton argues that the decision was to
create more revenue for the artworks themselves; however Alfred Barnes s legacy
was disrespected beyond belief as there were other ways to fund the collection while
still staying true to Barnes s endowment. It is clear that Glanton went against Barnes

Persuasive Essay On Child Trafficking
To traffick individuals is a severe offense. This crime violates the rights of humans.
Often men, women and children plunge into the hands of traffickers. Human
trafficking is a norm for all countries around the world. The United States is also on
the map for human trafficking. Human traffickers serve a diverse category which
includes ethnic, racial and social groups. We know that perpetrators are not just men
and women. Trafficking young children are on the rise. Trafficker s objective is to
lure children through the internet, social media, telephone, acquaintances that have
been victims of trafficking, popular hangouts, and in the school system where
children are convinced that they are safe and protected. Traffickers often prey on
young individuals by assuring that they will receive an abundance of love, money
and a superior life. Traffickers are practicing fear techniques to entice young children
and teens to engage in several types of sexual act and harsh and unethical work.
Traffickers will exploit young people to participate in commercial sexual activities
and forced labor. Commercial sexual activities may include exploiting young people
through survival sex which includes the exchange of monetary, food, drugs or
lodging, prostitution, and by way of sex tourism. Young people, especially those with
risk factors are vulnerable to human trafficking, The Administration for Children and
Families at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued new guidance

Kyoto Protocol And Its Effect On Climate Change In 1997, the Kyoto Protocol attempted to achieve the results that had been sought out when most of the nations of the world agreed to the terms set forth in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 1992. The new treaty put enforcement mechanisms in place, including the idea of carbon trading, that would reinforce the importance of lowering the amount of CO2 being released into our atmosphere. Looking back to that decision made eighteen years ago, I do not believe that the concept of carbon trading should have been introduced in lieu of a carbon tax as it is now a crutch used by corporations, both big and small, to either improve the profitability of their company by selling their unused carbon permits or to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is not the case for carbon trading as, the protocol, most of the world s wealthy countries agreed to reduce their GHG emissions by fixed percentage (Weeks, 6), states Weeks. Weeks explains, if they can t reach the required reductions, rich nations can also offset some of their GHG emissions by buying credits from energy saving projects (Weeks, 6). Buying and selling credits is nothing more than a crutch used to support a pollution dependent economy and just a band aid to an ever growing problem. Carbon credits do nothing more than give polluters a lawful way to continue releasing excessive amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, which is a reason why the Kyoto treaty does not work, rather it allows climate change to continue spiraling out of control. Carbon s Hasselknippe states, Some offset projects in North America [where companies are experimenting with emission reductions and trading] are even more questionable than CDM projects. Without a regulated market anything goes (Weeks, 32). With the aforementioned, it is vividly clear that carbon trading is a problem and not a solution as it was destined to fail from the start given the lack of government oversight. There are more direct ways to put a price on carbon emissions that would potentially cause the American businesses the fear of losing profit. One example of this is carbon tax. In Weeks article she shares, Others say curbing climate change will require both taxes and trading, plus

  • 7. Cultural Assimilation Should Be Viewed As A Positive Or... By definition, cultural assimilation is the process whereby individuals or groups of differing ethnic heritage are absorbed into the dominant culture of a society. The process of assimilating involves taking on the traits of the dominant culture to such a degree that the assimilating group becomes socially indistinguishable from other members of the society. During this process, ethnic individualities, characteristics, and traits of the minority population can disappear. Unfortunately, this is the opposite of multiculturalism, which stresses the significance of promoting different cultures, ethnicities, and races within a single jurisdiction. While multiculturalism promotes diversity among society, assimilation can and does morphs us into much of the same mold. However, assimilation also opens new doors, opportunities, and experiences to those that may never have experienced them otherwise. Ultimately, assimilation to some degree is seemingly unavoidable, as those from different countries must learn to adapt to their new surroundings. This leads to the question of whether cultural assimilationshould be viewed as a positive or negative experience. Should being American require immigrants as well as international students to feel pressured to integrate and conform to the culture? Does this process of integrating come naturally, or is it forced upon them? In short, do we really want immigrants to assimilate? Answering this question on cultural assimilation is important

Who is to say that they will remain steadfast and defend Singapore? They might just flee to their second home . Then does this not serve as a disadvantage to citizens who were born and raised in Singapore? Albeit unlikely to happen, the safety that we experience in Singapore must not be taken for granted. Singapore needs unwavering citizens who will not abandon it when times get tough. It gives other countries the excuse to bully and look down upon Singapore. Another issue that arises which is also related to Singapore s defense is the requirement for males with dual citizenship to serve National Service (NS). It then goes on to explain that we live in such a digital age, and everything we hear, see, games, apps, videos, news articles, and photographs are produced by us, real humans. Exploring The Cost Of Hydraulic Fracturing Essay Exploring the Cost of Hydraulic Fracturing in Colorado: What are the potential effects of the Tres Rio 2016 Oil and Gas Lease/Sale on Montezuma County s public health, ecological communities, and economic stability? Introduction Hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, is a technique often administered by oil and gas companies in order to create fissures within subsurface shale formations. After a site is established, the initial step entails breaking through the soil and stone via a bit placed at the end of a drill. As the drill moves through the rock layers, it utilizes air pressure to drive fragmented rocks to the surface. The drill ceases immediately after it comes into contact with the first indication of fresh water. Once the drill is removed, cement is incorporated into the drilled hole in an effort to prevent contamination of the water source and as a safety measure. Secondary steps require a perforated gun producing high magnitude electrical currents to be introduced down the wellbore (oil field terminology pertaining to a hole generated from oil/gas exploration), helping drive holes into the cement and ultimately enabling a channel for gas flow. The gun is then removed. Under high pressure, the drill pumps a solution of water, sand, and chemicals into the established site, allowing the gas (methane) to be released and stored. Finally, a pipeline constructed from the storage space to the consumer market supplies the gas as an energy source. Radioactive waste water also

One of the main features of the climb however is the students who are thrown randomly in groups of 5 7, and are expected to collaborate and ultimately climb to the summit. The intuitive design of the simulation gives each team member a wide variety of information, distinct goals, and one role. The information is intentionally restricted towards certain individuals due to their roles. The goals are aligned with the roles of group member, the team leader s goal is to get everyone to the top of summit. There was two attempts in climbing the mountain. The first approach involved an autocratic leadershipstyle, combined with limited communication, and group conformity ended in unsatisfactory results. The second time, with lessons learned from the first attempt, was overall better, as tasks was delegated, combined with shared decision making and improved communication, showed a significant improvement in performance. Although, Everest is an oversimplification of various organisational models, the experiences received for the team, as well as myself were tremendous. This

I would never sing in front of my brother, he would always tease me about my voice. Being teased made me feel like I wasn t good enough. Because of that I stopped singingfor a while. At that time, I didn t know what to do singing had been part of my life even before I even came out the womb. I ve been told my aunt would sing to me frequently. I felt completely at lost, I was unidentifiable with myself. I need music in my life. In elementary I spent most of my time in the music room with my music teacher, he would give me tips to improve my voice. Not only did he teach me how project my voice and overall make me sound better, he also taught me how to play various instruments. For starters, I developed a growing love for piano. I am deeply grateful for the personal time he took to develope my love for music, sadly I took a break at 15 because after I helped my brother move into his dorm five hours away from his home, I came home and felt a little lost. I found my second obsession a few months later. It was often referred to as Tiny guitar with four strings . It was a ukulele my music teacher never corrected me, he would alway smile or laugh. After a long day of school he pulled me aside, he told me how proud he was to see me continue my passion for music and he bought me a ukulele. I still have the ukulele

Plato would most likely approve of the message that Moliere tries to push through Tartuffe. That is: rationality and reason trump all. Plato may not be the most supportive of art and literature but if it happens to be a medium that lends to his principles of reason, logic, rationality and above all the maintenance of the social order then he would happily approve. Hypocrisy, passion and emotions are seen as obstacles to the truth and real ideals as Plato would have seen it. Likewise, religious passion is seen as an obstacle to true forms of faith and piety. Cleante is the voice of reason because his insight identifies the real character of Tartuffe. He tries to reason with Orgon, even well after Tartuffe is exposed and his job could be considered fait accompli. He continues to promote good sense without being condescending and he is pious without being overtly religious. Unlike Tartuffe, Cleante s faith is not based on false devotion. Cleante s respect for the King and for social order is also a sign of the Age of Reason and the original ideas of the perfect society expressed in Plato s Republic. Plato would agree with Moliere s support of a civil secular society based on reason trumping over a religious one based on emotion. Lastly by showing a healthy mistrust of passion, Cleante serves as an example of the Enlightenment and a Platonic man in Moliere s play

If the east side farmers have it there way they will continue to be able to produce crops and farming on the east side will still be a possibility. The Friant Dam has been irrigating the east side of the valley since 1944. Over 95% of all water collected at Millerton is used to help agriculture. This video, entitles Being Multiracial in America, featured a group of young, mixed race College students elated that the United States would potentially elect a man that grew up in a blended culture comparable to their own. There was this conspicuous desire shared among these students to live in a society understanding of the intricacies of one s racial identity. None of these students wished to identify themselves as only one of their races. They wanted to eliminate this illusion of racial choice. To these young people, one person shouldn t choose what sole racethey are because they exist within this category of both . Some of these aspects included social, psychological, and other components of the author s life. Within his book parts of his life included were the people from his life. These people were Kenneth Grahames father, his son Alastair, and his friend Sir Arthur Quiller Couch . One of the people from his life who was transformed into a memorable character was his son Alastair. The Wind in the Willows was a novelbased on bedtime stories about the character named Toad, the stories of which were told to Alastair in effort to soothe him to sleep. When Kenneth took the stories and adapted them into a novel, he used qualities from his son and used them in the character Mole. Mole could easily be described as a mild mannered, as well as home loving animal. He was the first character to be introduced in the story. Within the first chapter of the novel Mole ventured outside of his underground home. Soon after coming outside Mole realized the fast moving pace of life around the riverbank. Although cautious at first, Mole soon adapted with help from his new found friends. Since birth Alastair had complications that made life increasingly more difficult as he grew up. One of the largest complications that was faced by Alastair was that he was blinded in one eye since birth. While also faced with other disabilities, Alastair s problem was the blindness he retained. Similar to how Mole adapted to his surroundings by the riverbank, Alastair adapted to life with disabilities while keeping a mild mannered attitude. In addition to the adaptation, Alastair accepted help from many people like his father and mother like Mole accepted help from his friends. Mole went through complications as well throughout the chapters within the novel. One of these complications is how when Mole became impatient to meet Badger and went off on his own to find him, leading to him becoming lost in the woods until his friend Rat finds him.
