This is a brief, mostly visual treatment analysis for my group's music video for Weezer - Memories. The point of a treatment is to give a visual representation of the kind of graphics and shooting methods one would like in their own music video. We have just simply taken some images off of Google to represent the kind of colours, contrasts, images and scenes we'd like to see in our own music video.

Some pictures of my Sinnis Apache motorcycle that I've recently bought. Bikers young and old could get into this. Light, agile and easy to handle. As far as motorbikes go, it's plenty fun.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2. Song choice.
For my choice of song
I’ve chosen Paia by
Wild Ones. My artist
goes by the name of
Laura Taubert. The
song is mainly based on
nostalgia and a
prominent dream that
always seems to make
it’s way into my
character’s mind.
3. Genre type/Audience
I’d like to think that the
song I’ve chosen is the
indie genre and my
target audience would be
those who enjoy going to
festivals, who listen to
bands such as Arctic
Monkeys, Bastille, Tigers
Jaw ect…The target age
group I’d say that would
focus around this type of
genre would be the
younger generation who
age between their teens
to early 20’s. However, It
could range to other’s
who are older who enjoy
this type of genre.
4. Concept of my video.
The concept of my music video is the idea of loss the loss of someone important, and I plan to suggest
that through the colouring of the shots which will be in black and white. In the video I plan for my
character Laura to explore places that used to be an important experience for her. Then as a twist it
turns out it was just a dream. The whole idea is narrative rather than performance.
5. Concept of my video.
During the beginning of the scene it opens with shots
of a bike in motion fading in and out to match the
sound of the harp playing in the song. As the song
progresses we see the bike in the same position
however have it look as if it is riding through different
seasons, to suggest a progression of time. Then it will
cut to the first location which will be a forest type
location. My character will be pushing their bike along
through a field and come to the entrance of the forest.
She will rest her bike up against the gate lead to the
forest and begin to make her way through, exploring
all the places she used to spend time with the person
she had lost. Then she will come to a tree swing and
begin to reminisce in all the memories held there and
the song begins to get a little faster so I plan to make
the shots of the tree swing move rather rapidly to suit
the tempo of the song. Then she will get on the tree
swing and swing back and forth beginning to think of
all the good time she’d experienced. The it will cut to a
small bonfire with the light reflecting on her face.
During the first sequence I also plan to add images
around the location to get an idea of where she is and
from the second location to give the suggest that there
are other locations.
6. Concept of my video
After this it will then cut to the second location of a canal during winter time. The shot will
open with a long shot of my character riding along the canal, a reflection of her bike will
appear within a mirror and then it will cut to her coming to a stand still next the the canal
boarder. It will then cut to a close up shot, from side on of her taking in all of the view. In
between the shots there will be cut away shots to establish the location. My character will
then get back on her bike and continue to ride away and it will cut to the next shot.
7. Concept.
Once she gets in there will be
different shots of her relaxing is
the water, with cut away shots of
the water fall and the things that
are running along with the current
of the water. She will then look
into the camera an brush her wet
hair back and take a deep breath.
Then near the end the song gets
faster so I plan to merge all the
shot together as the songs gets
faster and there will be a fast
sequence of shots before the end
comes
8. Concept
The end will have a slight
twist which is her waking up
in bed as if it was a dream
to suggest she is
subconsciously aching
about the person she’s lost
and hasn’t been dealing
with it too well. The ending
links with the lyrics of the
song which say “I’ve had
this dream before, I wish I
had it more” It suggests a
sense of déjà vu and
nostalgia.
9. Lyric sample
I’ve had this dream before
I heard you at the door
You took my bag and suit
I’ll wait out by the car, the sun shone on your arm
You beckon me into
While kneeling on the floor
I never wanted more
Above a hawk does call
I went with heavy heart
I’ll never leave you lost where we are bound to go
You are the only one to do it right
Oh baby, now you know
Oh baby, now you know
Yeah, you’re the only one to do it right
Oh baby, now you know
I won’t hide, I won’t fight
You make it whole
You’re the only one to do it right
Oh baby, now you know
Oh Oh Oh
I’ve had this dream before
I wish I had it more
I think you have it too
The whole Idea of my video is the sense of
loss and the nostalgia of the places and the
memories that they bring with them. The
lyrics suggest event have already
happened and it’s a sort of déjà vu. A
particular line fits in with my ending which
is “I’ve had this dream before, I wish I had
it more” and to finish the video off my
character wakes up in her own bed as if it
was a dream/déjà vu accept she’s lonely
rather than having someone to enjoy those
moments with her.
10. Influences.
My influences for this
video come from another
A2 video. The black and
white colouring of the
shots really influenced my
idea. I enjoy the way they
looked because it really
set the mood of the video.
It also gave me ideas in
terms of not just keeping
the video shots
continuously character
based. Almost every shot
with the character in was
made up with my cut
away shots to set the
scene and give the idea of
being “triped out”.

11. Costume influences
For my costume
influences I got a lot
of costume ideas
from the indie type of
look e.g plaid shirts,
ripped jeans, doc
martens, checkered
red scarfs, bobble
hats, bags ect….
Although the coulour
of the clothes won’t
really matter within
the video I think it’s
important to have a
certain look to suit the
genre.
12. Conventions I will use.
I’ve decided to use 3 of Andrew Goodwin’s
conventions because I feel they are the most
suitable for my video.
I plan to use the first convention of the relationship
between the lyrics and the visuals. The beginning
scene will fade in and out to match the sound of the
harp playing and then every scene after that will
change upon the beat of the song.
13. Conventions
The second convention I plan to use is also the
difference between the lyrics and the visuals, I want
the visuals to be more of a metaphor for the lyrics
rather than an exact match. The narrative element
will be able to tell the story more than the lyrics.
14. The third convention I plan to
used is the third ideology
which is iconography. The way
my character dresses up and
the props they use will really
set a certain look for them and
will make the recognisable.
The element that will make
them easier to recognise will
be the use of a bike in my
video,CD and poster. It will
have a constant appearance.
15. And, finally I plan to use
predominance of the close
up to make the emotion of
the lyrics show through my
characters expression. The
close up shots will also show
where the main focus is,
which is of my performer.
16. How will I use the forms for the performer?
My locations will set the look of
the genre which is indie and
there will be multiple locations
included, such as a viaduct, a
canal and a forest in no
particular order. To se the scene
I will use a mixture of cut aways,
pan movement , close ups and
extreme close ups just to give
and idea of what’s going on in
each scene and what’s around
the character. The lyrics and the
visuals and the difference
between them will allow me to
use one of the 7 conventions
which is the difference between
lyrics and visuals. I’m going to
manipulate that into the idea of
memoires.
Finally, the editing will allow me
to put all of the elements
together and I will be able to set
the effects once the video is
completed to get the overall
indie/grunge look.
