The student plans to create a lyric music video for the song "Wings" by Birdy, which is about a couple separated by distance. Scenes in the video will depict the protagonist looking for their lost loved one, with shots showing memories of good times together. It's revealed at the end that the protagonist's best friend died. The indie pop video will use conventions like outdoor shooting and a narrative format to visually represent the emotions conveyed in the song's lyrics.

1. Idea Generation and Development
For my music video, I am using the song ‘Wings’ by Birdy. The song is about a couple
of people friends or relationship. Who have been separated, by distance or
something happening. The song also talks about memories they may have had
together.
I would like my music video to be a lyric music video. Where lyrics will appear on the
screen, while there are shots in the background. For example In the lyrics ‘ Oh lights
go down, in the moment we’re lost and found, I just ‘wanna’ be by your side, If these
wings could fly. I will shoot a scene of where the lights are off in the area, and going
outside and looking around the area, signalling that they are looking for the other
person, they are missing. The music video will also include shots of people in
memories situations, I have made the story out so the best friend of the protagonist
dies, but you find this out at the end. This encourages the audience to keep watching
and find out every detail.
I want to use this way of music videos as I feel the audience can see how much the
lyrics are based on the music video. The genre of my music video is Indie Pop; I will
be using a lot of the conventions associated with the genre, my music video is based
outside and is a Narrative music video.
My video includes losing a loved one, you will see the stages of when the accident
occurred, the good times they had together, and the sad moments where the main
protagonist struggle’s.
You will be to see the emotion clearly on the shot and how the different lyrics portray
the scene.
