The document summarizes the results of a survey conducted to help design a new music magazine.
- The survey respondents were primarily 16-22 year old females who preferred rock music. This informed the decision to target the magazine towards this demographic and genre.
- Most respondents purchased music magazines infrequently, so the magazine will be released more often than competitors and offer different, engaging content to attract more regular readers.
- Based on budget constraints of the student audience, the magazine price will be set around £2 to appeal to more potential buyers.
This is an analysis of my questionnaire, it shows the results of 94 people's answers and I have applied this to the content and information in my magazine.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
2. Question 1: All of those who took the test were between 16-22.
However, this is most likely because I shared the link on facebook,
which is targeted at a younger audience. The rest of the answers I
have gotten will therefore be saying something about the people in
this age. Based on this information I choose to aim my magazine at
the age group 16-22, with content that appeal to younger people
rather than old.
Question 2: Only females took my test. Analyzing the rest of the
responses, I will use the information to aim the magazine at my
audience. This means that the magazine I create will be more
aimed towards female than men. I will be doing this by including
content as music gossip, that female are more willing to read than
men. I’ll present artists that more women than men listen to. The
majority of my respondents being female, shows that they’re more
open to trying new things, which means that if I place
questionaries and contests in my magazine, they will be the most
likely to answer them
3. Question 3: This graph shows us what my
target audience favorite music genre is.
Among the majority, rock was the most
popular, follow by other and then funk. This
graph gives me an idea of sort of music my
target audience likes the best. Therefore I am
going to base my magazine on the rock genre.
Some people liked funk the best, but a very
small presentage.
4. Question 4: Majority of the answerers purchase music
magazines every other year, some once a week, a great
part once every moth and some once a year. Releasing
an issue every other year, would therefore benefit me
the most. But since a large number of people only buy
music magazines once every other years, I believe the
current once does not excite and interest them that
much. This leads me to think I should make my magazine
some different from the present once, so more would
people would want to buy it more frequently.
My reviewers would be willing to spend around 2-3
pounds on a music magazine, but most of them are
students. Since most students don’t have that much
money, I would rather put the price around 2 pounds, as
more people would most likely buy my magazine then.
Though some people would be willing to pay more, I
won’t set the price that high, as I’ll likely lose potential
audience, because they find the price to expensive.
5. Question 5:The top 5 content, my audience
would like in their music magazine is:
Interviews
Latest news
Q&A
Product reviews
Essay and opinion articles
Using this information I can produce content
aimed for my audience. This way my magazine
will be more attracting to them. The most
popular content people wanted to see was
interviews. I found this question very helpful,
as I now have a clear indicator on what content
my audience wants to see.
6. The colours people most those who took my survey
associate with the rock genre, are black and red. If I use
these colours in my magazine, I will attract the audience
my magazine is aimed for. Knowing this I will use a lot of
black and red, to communicate what changer my magazine
is, so I easier can attract my target audience.
7. Most of those who took my survey,
were students. Students normally
have that much money, therefore I
think a price between 1-2 pound,
would benefit me the most. Using
this information, I can make choices
whilst making my magazine, that will
attract and be interesting for my
audience.
8. Q and Kerrang are my responders
favourite magazines. Analysing
these magazine, I can see what
choices they have made and
apply them to mine, so I attract
my audience. Q being the
favourite, the audience must like
the content and the way the
magazine portrays it’s musician
and articles. Kerrang being the
second favourite shows that the
audience also like music
magazines that’s only about one
shanger. Kerrange is a rock
magazine, that I can familiarize
with, as I am making a rock based
magazine as well. Looking on
their house style, chose of artists,
layout, etc, I can make sure I’ve
made the right choices in
communicating the rock changer
of my magazine.
