The survey responses show that the target audience for the music magazine is 16-20 year olds who enjoy rock and indie/alternative music genres. Most respondents would only be willing to pay £0-£3 for a magazine and prefer a neat, organized layout with a focus on new and trending artists through interviews and reviews. The magazine should aim to cover these music genres and price between £0-£3 to appeal to younger music fans.
This is a general survey analysis which I have constructed from the survey I made on SurveyMonkey. I have made sure I have analyised each question in turn and used graphs to show the results of the survery and have wrote about why these are important to my Media (music magazine) research. I have asked questions about (preferred music genres, hobbies, gender, age, music magazines and much more)

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Survey answers
1. Survey answers – Analysis
1. The majority of respondents stated that the head of their household had
a professionaljob, ranging fromsupervisory to higher managerial with
not much of a difference between the categories. A very small number
of responses cameback as ‘skilled manual workers’ and lower,
suggesting that the audience for my music magazine will be willing to
pay more and expect a higher level of detail.
2. There was not a big gap in between the amount of female and male
respondents, butfemales were still the majority by about 10%. As I do
not know the percentage of how many of each gender reads music
magazines, I am not going to assumethat one gender reads music
magazines more than the other, resulting in a non-specific gender music
magazine equally aimed at both genders.
2. 3. The age category of 16-20 was thefastmajority as 90%. As I also place
myself in this category, I think I am going to make the target audience
for my music magazine this category. Aiming my magazine towards
younger people means that I can suit the magazineto not only I taste
that I would enjoy reading, but a style that my friends would be
interested in reading too.
4. The results show that the top two favourite genres of music for the
majority of 16-20 year olds is rock and indie/alternative. Rock being the
firstchoice of 33% and indie/alternative being the firstchoice of 26%. A
percentage also had one of these two as their second choice if they did
not chooseit as their first. Classicalmusic was chosen as the least
favouritemusic genre 47% suggesting thatyoung people do not enjoy
listening to classicalmusic. Indie/alternative genre was never chosen as
someone’s least favouritemusic genre, so based on these results I think
it is a safeoption to basemy music magazine on rock and indie music, as
these are the music genres young people are more interested in.
3. 5. Just over 50% of respondents said that they didn’tread any music
magazines, with 14 respondents answering with yes, and only 4 of those
claiming to read magazines often. This suggests that magazines as a
general leisure activity are not that popular within the 16-20 year old
category and may be aimed more at older categories. I feel that more
teenagers are interested at actually justlistening to the music than
reading about it. This means that I will try and aim my magazine at the
age category 15-30, interesting both younger and older music fans.
6. NME is shown to be the mostpopular music magazine within my
respondents, as 8 out of the 13 that answered this question read this
magazine. 3 claim to read Mixmag and 2 read Rolling Stones. NME is a
free music magazine, with a varied and currentchoice, maybe more
suitable for a younger category as they may not be able to afford a more
expensive magazineand do not chooseto read a magazineof a very
specific genre.
4. 7. Supporting my previous statement that younger people can not afford
to buy expensivemusic magazines, over 70% of respondents said that
they would only be willing to pay £0-£3 for a music magazine. I will price
my magazinewithin this price category so it will be available to all ages.
8. Even though even only 14 respondents said that they read a music
magazine, 23 people answered this question. The most popular feature
in music magazines is the interviews with artists, with almost40%, as the
majority, liking this the most. The least favoured feature in a music
magazine appears to be the competitions, which is a common feature in
most magazines, suggesting thatmore detail about the music is wanted.
5. 9. Over 50% of respondents said that they liked the layout of their
magazine to be neat and organised, whereas only 23% prefer the design
to be havea messy structure. This shows thatthe majority of
respondents like the information to be clear and structured, making
things clear to see and easy to find.
10. The majority of the answers to this question all revolved around
involvement with new artists. These answers ranged from“New artists
of the music genre I like” to “Exclusive interviews”. This suggests that
younger people prefer to know which music is new and trending. This
means that I will include plenty of new and trending music and artists in
my magazine, frominterviews and stories to reviews about the new
artist.
