This document contains mood boards showing typical layout conventions for front covers, contents pages, and articles in rock magazines. Front covers generally include the magazine title, date, central image, and barcode. Contents pages typically list article titles and page numbers in distinct categories. Articles normally feature a large central image of the band along with quotes to engage readers. While layouts vary between magazines and articles, common elements like consistent color schemes, font styles, and placement of key information help establish recognizable branding across issues.

Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

The layout of all the contents pages are similar to one another. All four content pages consist of one large central image accompanied by a number of secondary
images. The colour scheme is simple and consistent with the use of the colours black, yellow and white.
9. Articles:
This mood board represents the different layouts that would be seen on a rock magazine article. Conventions that are consistent within each article are the colour
scheme, layout, and font. All the magazine article pages also include images of the band the article is featured on as well as quotes to attract the reader and real
them in, making them want to read the article.
10. This double page article is a question and answer base article with one central
image and 1 heading in large bold fonts. The artist featured „Davey Havok‟ is
on one page while the article is on the opposite page. The title of the article –
“Do I ever have as Casual Friday? Absolutely!” has been placed above the
article next to the artists head but slightly behind. This brings the elusion that
he is actually there in the article suggesting to the audience that what is in the
article is 100% accurate. The title has also been split up into different sections
although it is one quote. “Do I ever” is positioned at the top in a normal white
title font size while “a casual Friday?” has been placed below, a bit more to the
right compared to the first part. The answer to the question “Absolutely!” is
placed below that in a large bold font. This layout is successful as it gives off a
calming atmosphere as well as grab the readers attention.
This is two different examples of articles from the same magazine.
The layout of both articles are different depending on the rock band the article is featured on, although both articles consist font size.
On the other hand this double page article has one central image on the
left hand side with a few secondary images across the bottom of the page.
The article is centred on one of the band members Gerard Way. The title
of the article – “ We‟re being the best MCR we can be!” has been placed
in a similar position to the article above. Presenting the same connotation
as the first. The article is a pull quote article, which is much shorter in
length compared to the Q&A article but at the same time as more to offer.
On the second page of the article there is a column were the magazine
presents some of the bands tracks with a description of what the song is
about. This allows the reader/fan to get a deeper insight on how the band
came to create their latest album. Although both articles are from the
same magazine they are represented in different ways. This is because the
article is created so that it reflects the mood of the article or the artists,
making the layout and the article adaptable to the reader.
