USB (Universal Serial Bus) is a specification that allows for connection and communication between devices like computers, keyboards, printers and more. It was created in 1996 to serve as a standard connection method to replace variety of ports. USB allows for up to 127 devices to connect in a tiered tree structure, with devices like mice, cameras, hard drives and more commonly using USB connections. It has since been updated with faster transfer speeds in versions 2.0 and 3.0.
