Market Commentary
Good Morning!!
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) cuts REPO rate and Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) by 25 basis points
This will result in banks lowering their lending rates. This action of RBI will infuse liquidity in the monetary system. Actually this is
good for Indian economy for some of sectors like infrastructure, real estate, capital goods industry and capital intensive sectors.
These sectors are struggling hard to move on their projects without enough capital. This will push up their activities and also will
induce the GDP growth. Now it can be seen all the leading investment houses will push up the forecast of Indian GDP
Implied Risk Premium for Indian Equities
Equity Risk Premium for SENSEX as on the end of 29thJan 2013 is 3.719% with Risk Free Rate of Return (Rf) 7.847% & default spread
adjusted Rf 9.847%. Hence the cost of equity for SENSEX is 15.076%. Equity investors in Indian equity market can expect a
minimum return of 15.08%.
