Bacchae Of Euripides Analysis
The Chorus was an integral part of the Greek tragedies, and this is no different in The Bacchae of
Euripides. This Chorus is made up of women celebrants of Dionysus, the Bacchae or Maenads. It is
important to understand that the Chorus is not made up of the women celebrants from Thebes. Instead,
the Chorus is made up of women who have traveled from Asia and followed Dionysus to Thebes.
These women are true initiates of the Bacchae, unlike the women from Thebes who have not been
officially inducted to the Maenads. This division makes it seem as though the women from Thebes are
undergoing a hazing or probationary period to be sure they are worthy of entering the Maenads. The
Chorus uses choral interludes to add commentary on what is happening ... Show more content on

The Chorus calls on him to arrive in one of his many different forms, such as the bull, serpent, or lion,
and to capture Pentheus in his fatal net (1018 1022). The Maenads will be the ones to finish the deed,
but the sighting of Dionysus will make them go into such a frenzy that Pentheus family, especially his
mother, will not even realize who it is that they are ripping to shreds. The initiated Maenads from Asia
already know the effect that the sighting would have on the women, so they call on Dionysus to show
himself so that the women inflict the appropriate justice on the man who questions Dionysus authority.
The overall message or lesson in The Bacchae of Euripides seems to be the importance of revering the
gods, and the punishment that could ensue if they are not properly worshipped and respected. The
interludes, especially the Fourth Chorus, warn of these punishments and the justice that will be served
if mortals cannot revere the powerful

Citizen Kane And The Social Network Analysis
Orson Welles Citizen Kane (1941), is remembered as one of the greatest American films to be made.
Its revolutionary storyline and the new ideas that Welles introduces in the film sets it apart from others
created at the time. The film depicts a young man, Charles Kane (Orson Welles), who grew up
wealthy and who eventually owns a newspaper. Throughout the movie, as he gains wealth and power,
he exhibits a distinct weakness that eventually leads to his downfall. While David Fincher s The
Social Network (2010) isn t as famous as Citizen Kane, it represents the same idea. In this film a
young man, Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) innovates a website that over the course of the movie
gains popularity and support, this leads him to gain wealth and influence. Zuckerberg s ignorance and
ill mannered behavior have a significant impact on his downfall. Both of these movies portray the
theme, pride goeth before a fall, and throughout the development of the theme of these particular
films, both protagonists end up hurting numerous people because of their pride. Both these films
represent and portray the theme in a similar fashion, although they also exhibit differences. The theme
in Citizen Kane is represented as dramatic and grand. Whereas in The Social Network the theme is
more subtle and modest. The cinematography of these films also contributes to the portrayal of the
theme. Orson Welles, the director, and cinematographer of Citizen Kane. uses many extreme angels,

Although, there is no real knowledge of why someone would become a masochist, Sexual Masochism
is thought to be related to a childhood experience or trauma and there are some who believe they root
around adolescence problems. People who were abused sexually are closely related to issues with how
they see themselves and desire power over others but cannot achieve it. Some who are classified to be

William Lyon Mackenzie King In Canada During The 1930 s
During the 1930s there were only 2 main political figures for Canada and those 2 figures were William
Lyon Mackenzie King the grandson of William Lyon Mackenzie and the second leader being R.B
Bennett a powerful business man during the 1920s. Both very distinguished leaders had their own
ideas for Canada but which one of these men handled the position better? During the 20s William
Lyon Mackenzie King was in power and he did quite a good job with his policies to help the farmers
after the first world war and many other policies that he instated during the time. The trouble began
when the 1930s hit. This time is commonly referred to as the great depression or the stock market
crash in the USA. I strongly believe that because of his policies, ... Show more content on

King finally realized that the depression wasn t just going to go over easily. He instated the policy of
Freer Trade with the USA very quickly after being voted back into office in 1935. This policy fixed
the barriers for the tariffs that were put into place by R.B Bennett during his time in office whilst the
great depression had just gotten into motion. King also created the National Employment Commission
which was created to fix the unemployment rates in Canada and to create new jobs for unemployed
Canadians. Though ineffective it was a good idea because it led to the increased budget in 1938 from
20 Million to 25 Million dollars for relief from the depression. In addition to the increased budget the
government also offered loans to municipalities which led to the National Housing Act which allowed
the reconstruction of houses within Canada. Bennetts policies were referred to as Reform and Relief
Policies. His first plan to solve the depression was to give $20 million towards relief for the winter of
1930. You may not think that this was a lot of money but during the time the budget for the
government was $500

Quotes On Hester Prynne
Hester Prynne adulteress and sinner, but also strong, courageous and kind. She lives with the first two
words as her identity, with the scarlet A as her name tag; A reminder to everyone and herself of her
sins. In The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne; Hawthorne expresses his belief that everyone has
an equal potential for sin, what causes people to be different from each other is how they react to their
sin. The sins committed by people can affect them differently than how it may affect another person.
Sin is not something that everyone feels the same way about. Lucius Annaeus Seneca makes a point
saying that: The first step in a person s salvation is knowledge of their sin . There is no way we can
resolve our sins alone. We can only acknowledge our sin and repent; We can try to be the best versions
of ourselves but sin does not just disappear. It is a daily trouble everyone s life, sin changes every
person from the individual they are supposed to be. For example, Hester accepts what she has one and
tries to move on and redeem herself by helping the poor and raising her daughter. On the contrary,
Chillingsworth dwells in his sins and submits to what he had done making him become dark and satan
like. He no longer can recognize admirability, he has a focused on revenge and hate. There are also
people comparable to Dimmesdale, who hide their sins in shame of what they have done, unable to
move on. The Scarlet Letter genuinely shows the difference between the Puritan s view of sin versus
the Romantics view of Sin. The Puritan church is deeply adamant that all sins should be punished; sin
not easily forgiven and forgiveness is to be earned if possible. The entire scene is very hypocritical.
The leaders and ministers hold themselves on a pedestal, as though they have never done wrong. An
impeccable example; Arthur Dimmesdale, the man who Hester has an affair with, ironically the one
who is questioning her and trying to convince her to tell the leaders who the father was. He knew
without a doubt Pearl was his daughter. He was playing clue; keeping himself unblemished. Hester is
a symbol of the new Romantic Era that was to come shortly after the uptight Puritan Church.
Romantics held the beliefs

The Road Not Taken And Robert Frost Comparison Analysis
Imagine being outside with the colorful leaves falling to the ground in warm, comfy clothes and hot
chocolate in a mug. Often times poets use nature and sensory detail to inspire their writing and engage
their audience with a mental connection. One can compare and contrast Robert Frost s The Road Not
Taken to Emily Mottley, Annijah Collins, and McKenna Faychak s Seasons Changing by using
specific details from each poem. When interpreting the The Road Not Taken and Seasons Changing,
one can justify that the differences are their poetic structures and making different choices, while at
the same time recognize that the similarities are that each use nature images, references to Autumn,
and an abundant amount of detail to paint a picture for the reader. To begin differentiating, one can
first analyze the use of poetic structure in The Road Not Taken in contrast to Seasons Changing
through rhyme scheme, stanzas, and rhyme pattern. The authors use different ending rhyme schemes
in their poems. For example, Frost uses the structure ABAAB exemplified by the words from stanza 2:
fair, claim, wear, there, same (Frost 6 10), while Mottley, Collins, and Faychak incorporate the rhyme
scheme of a coupling pattern by two lines rhyming with eachother using the words: brown, down,
weather, together, cold, old, cuddle, and couple (Mottley, Collins and Faychak 1 8). Correspondingly,
Frost has five lines in each of his four stanzas, while Mottley, Collins, and Faychak have

Science is a broad field that encompasses many aspects of everyday life and existence. Some areas of
science include the study of the universe, environment, dinosaurs, animals and insects. Another
popular science is the study of people and how they work. In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, Dr. Victor
Frankenstein is a scientist who studies inspiring the dead. He wants to be the first person to give life to
a dead human being. all their time to focus on this goal renounces his family and friends passed, and.
When finally this is achieved, everything crumbles. So, Victor Frankenstein is to blame for the
tragedy, not the monster he has created, because he is the mastermind behind the whole operation,
which is supposed to have everything under control, working properly as a good scientist should do.
Although some critics say the monster Victor has created is to blame for the destruction and violence
following the experiment is Victor, who is the responsible party. First, Victor, being the scientist,
should have known how to do research on the subject much more than what he had done. It was
obvious that he has not thought about the consequences that can result from it, as the monster going
crazy, how do you react monster people and things, and especially the time it will take to turn the
monster in the perfect being normal human. Obviously, this is something that could take a very long
time and a lot of patience, which lacks Victor. All Victor really wants is to be the first to

Deep Ocean: The truth of the Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea
Everyone might have once imagined dark environments and scary creatures which live in the deep
sea. These childlike dreams are visualized in the popular novel, Twenty Thousand Leagues under the
Sea. In the novel, the main character, Pierre Aronnax, searches for a mysterious sea monster while
fighting with scary undersea creatures. Although many undersea creatures have been depicted in the
novel, one of the striking deep sea creatures would be a giant octopus. This octopus is depicted as a
scary creatures that threatens the main character. Many people might think the creatures are fake, but
the giant octopus exists, which is also well known by today s scientists.

According to the website of US Navy museum, in August 1953, Piccard finished development of the
Bathyscaph Trieste, and it was placed in the sea for the first time. After that in 1960, the Bathyscaphe
Trieste reached the deepest known depth in the ocean, 35,800 feet in the Challenger Deep. People may
have trouble imagining the depth of the Challenger Deep reached. If the highest mountain, Mount
Everest (about 29,000 feet), was submerged to the depth explored by the Challenger Deep, its peak
would be more than a mile beneath the surface. (The Official U.S. Navy Museums). As time passed,
the technology of submergence surprisingly developed, and now most of the submergence is
conducted with unman probes.@@
A unique environment exists in the deep sea which is totally different from the sea that people
normally can experience. Then, why is the environment so different between deep sea and the surface
of the sea? There are three major factors that make the deep sea so mysterious and unique: light,
temperature, and pressure.
According to the blog of Marine Bio tech, the deep sea is cloaked in perpetual darkness because light
cannot penetrate the great amount of water. Therefore, in order to adapt to the dark environment, most
of the fish have larger than average tubular eyes with only rod cell. Also, many deep sea organisms,
even bacteria, developed bioluminescence, which is a visible light made by living creatures. Some

People are going hungry because of poverty, not because of a shortage of food (Silverbush, 2012).
The problems arising from factory farms are only getting bigger and more disastrous to the
environment. These farms raise hundreds or thousands of animals in close confinement; otherwise
know as concentrated animal feeding operations or CAFOs. Large CAFOs are controlled under federal
and state pollution regulations because they produce massive quantities of animal waste that can pose
environmental and heath hazards if mishandled (Weeks, 3). So why would farmers be farming this
way it is so dangerous? The answer is simple; these farms can produce large quantities of food
cheaply. If a farm can produce more hogs or calves, its profit is larger. In order for farmers to stay on
their land, they are forced into poorly paid off farm employment (Food). Livestock farmers are told
that they must adopt the new industrial technologies that make CAFO s feasible, if they expect to have
a future in farming (Kallen, 64). The byproducts of such farms are producing harmful odors. The
runoff from these farms pollutes streams and groundwater with antibiotics, insecticides, pathogens and
emits poisonous gases that are hazardous and create offensive odors (Weeks, 2). The question now
becomes, is factory farming the only way out? Is an industrial approach to agriculture needed to feed
the poor and hungry of the world? The answer

Lean Manufacturing
Introduction to Lean manufacturing:
Principles of lean thinking have been broadly accepted by many manufacturing operations and have
been applied successfully across many. Different authors define it distinctively. Lean manufacturing is
most frequently associated with the elimination of seven important wastes to ameliorate the effects of
variability in supply, processing time or demand defined it as a philosophy of manufacturing that
focuses on delivering the highest quality product on time and at the lowest cost. Worley (2004)
defined it as the systematic removal of waste by all members of the organization from all areas of the
value stream. Briefly, it is called lean as it uses less, or the minimum of everything required to produce
a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lean manufacturing requires machines which are reliable and efficient. Inventories can be reduced
when machine downtime is minimized.
Work processes across the value stream should also be emphasized in lean manufacturing. Processes
should be performed with a minimum of non value added activities in order to reduce waiting time,
queuing time, moving time, and other delays Besides this, standardization of work processes is needed
to facilitate efficient, safe work methods and eliminate wastes, while maintaining quality.Itensures a
consistent performance and creates a foundation for continuous improvement.
Nowadays, a product with high quality is a prerequisite for any manufacturer. Quality is a major focus
in lean manufacturing because poor quality management would result in many wastes such as scraps
and rejects. Appropriate quality management helps to control a manufacturing process, and this
reduces safety buffers and exposes quality issues. Reduction of safety buffers will eventually lead to
reduction of inventories.
Employees who are motivated and empowered are essential since people are the key element in lean
manufacturing. Japanese regard people as assets because they are the ones who are going to solve
problems and improve processes in production.
Another key area of lean manufacturing is layout which determines the arrangement of facilities in a
factory.

Summary Of Django Unchained
An auteur is a director that influences their films so that they can be considered as an author. Quentin
Tarantino is considered an author through his unique directorial film style, examples of Tarantino s
directorial film style are; his use of camera work especially with extreme close ups, bloody violence,
and long drawn out scenes. We have studied Quentin Tarantino s 2012 film Django Unchained, as well
as Tarantino s first box office movie Reservoir Dogs to analyse.
Quentin Tarantino uses camera work in both Django Unchained and Reservoir Dogs to display
character emotion. From what I had analysed I noticed that Tarantino s use of close up and mid shots
help the audience to examine the character s facial expression, from when Calvin Candie is showing
them the skull of an African, you can really see the pity in Dr. King Schultz s eyes and the anger in
Django s face, from Reservoir Dogs cafe scene, you can see each individual character s facial
expression, representing their personalities.
A scene in Django Unchained , that Tarantino applies great camera work is during the skull
examination scene , the scene featured Dr. King Schultz, Django, Calvin Candie, Stephen, and
Broomhilda. The scene opens up with a mid shot on Calvin Candie presenting to them an African

in the world with a 20.8% market share (Statista, 2016) and is also one of the world s top five
consumer goods companies.
Figure 1: Market share by volume (Statista, 2016)
The brewing industry is interesting to examine due to its relatively unique structure. Up until
November 2015, the market was dominated by four main players, known informally as the Big Four .
AB InBev was the largest, followed by SABMiller, Heineken and Carlsberg. In November 2015,
however, ABInBev and SABMiller agreed a formal $107 billion takeover deal, combining the brewers
into a company which industry experts claim would control around half of the industry s profits
(Mickle, 2015). As a result of the sheer size and complexity of the merger, it is anticipated that the
deal will not be finalised until the second half of 2016 as ABInBev must negotiate with anti trust
regulators around the world with respect to their potential monopolistic position. As the deal is yet to
be completed, this report will analyse ABInBev independent of SABMiller.

Aphra Ben s Oroonoko and Daniel Defoe s Moll Flanders
In his Dictionary of Literary Terms, Harry Shaw defines the novel: In effective narrative literature,
fictional persons, through characterization, become so credible that they exist for the reader as real
people, he says (1). Many eighteenth century British novelists neglected to earn this credibility.
Looking specifically at Aphra Behn s Oroonoko and Daniel Defoe s Moll Flanders, Shaw s definition
becomes especially difficult to apply to Moll and Oroonoko s narrator. While the novels should not be
declared unsuccessful in their entireties, perhaps the sincerity claimed in both introductions only
lessens their overall believability.
In the opening lines of his preface, Defoe tells us, the Author is here suppos d to be writing her own
History (1). Behn makes a similar claim in his novel: I was myself an eyewitness to a great part, of
what you will find here set down, and what I could not be witness of, I received from the mouth of the
chief actor in this history, the hero himself (75). And soon the authors claims prove themselves to be
untrue with a sizeable lack of reality in their characterization. Perhaps we cannot blame the authors
themselves, but rather their time. Serving as the inventors of the realist novel, eighteenth century
writers like Aphra Behn and Daniel Defoe were without a foundation to follow and with the
development of characters that are perhaps too unique, situations idealized, and blatant claims of
truthfulness, thus fail to convince the

My Life Next Door Analysis
In the book My Life Next Door written by Huntley Fitzpatrick, Samantha Reed is forced to construct a
decision that may be straightforward to you but is ambitious for others. She has to pick between the
boy next door, Jase, who she has passionately fallen in love with and her family. At all times, family
should be a top priority because they always have your back and you re stuck with them till forever.
One reason why families should be a top priority is because they will always have your back. Family
is family and they will never let you down no matter what. They might not agree on what is said and
done, however, they will listen and acquire it into consideration. They always provide their honest
opinion and confirm sure their actions are

Importance Of Data Analysis
Machine Learning Techniques
Since the plasmapause location is a continuous variable, techniques like regression support vector
machine (SVM), tree bagger, and neural network were used to construct the model. In this study, the
plasmapause location derived from 2013 March RBSP data is used, which is 89 observational data in
total.
For neural network approaches, 70% of the electron density data were used as the training data sets,
the 15% were used as the validation data and the final 15% as the testing data sets. As for the rest of
the method, 75% of electron density data were randomly selected to train the data and the rest of the
data were used as test datasets.
After the model were obtained, the performances of the model were accessed ... Show more content

Case 1 refers to the eight parameters (Vsw, SymH, AE, AL, AU, Pressure, E, and Bz) without any
manipulations. For case 2 and 4, the 12 hour moving average of Bz, symH and AE values were used
instead of the real time values. This would add time history to these parameters. Meanwhile, in case 3
and 4, log10 of symH, AL and Bz were used instead. These parameters were selected for manipulation
through a trial and error process as well as based on previous studies and understanding of the
parameters.
From Figure 2, it is clear that the values predicted by bagging, boost and neural network methods
came very close to actual values. On the other hand, the SVM with radial basis function (RBF) kernel
and SVM with 3 order of polynomial model generated a horizontal straight line, i.e. did not change at
all. Similar trends (shown in Figure 4) were observed for the rest of the parameter sets. This shows
that SVM has a poor performance in general as compared to other methods.
Figure 4 illustrated the predicted values from each model using the input parameter from case 2 and
the actual Lpp values.
To further examine the performance of each technique, coefficient R and RMSE from each test case
were studied carefully. The results were summarized in Table 1.
Table 1 listed the RMSE and R from each model using different parameter sets.

My Chosen Sector Is The Health Sector
My chosen sector is the Health sector. The Health sector includes hospital management firms, health
maintenance organizations, biotechnology and a variety of medical products. There are a few ways to
provide health care to the clients: in the home, community or at health facilities.
My chosen setting in the Health sector is an antenatal ward.
My chosen clients are women who are pregnant and have complications or are unwell in pregnancy.
Clients can come in any ethnicity. Usually these clients are from the age of 16 40 however there are
anomalies.
The health sector is things to do with people s health and wellbeing at any point throughout their life.
Many centres deal with health and help people to be healthier and live for longer. These range from
hospitals to your local clinic. Also, clients can range from the age of a new born baby to an extremely
elderly person. In health care, it involves diagnosing illnesses, prescribing medicine and treatment,
and preventing future illnesses. They can also help cure physical and psychological problems, such as
a torn cartilage (physical) or post natal depression (psychological.) Health care is provided by many
practitioners, e.g. dentists, midwives, surgeons and chiropractors. Health care can mean Primary care,
which is usually a GP surgery, secondary care, which is a hospital, and tertiary care, which are
specialist care centres. Most of the parts in the health centre are funded by the NHS, which is funded
by taxes that people

The language paper
Language is one of the most powerful mediums in the human world, and not only can language be
expressed through words, but also visually and musically. Language is everything from words that are
spoken and the silence that lies between one phrase and the next. I find out odd how in our culture, we
try to label things black and white. It s either this or it s that, yet when there s something lacking in
language, we try to assign colors to it instead of letting things be how they are. I have two types of
mediums that I feel shows the idea that things are visually and audibly black and white, but it s
difficult to leave it at that.
The first medium I chose is in fact a color picture, but what makes it similar ... Show more content on

I must have spent a total of 10 minutes looking at that picture, even though there isn t much to it. Even
though it is a color picture, there isn t too much color associated with it. The overall language that I
get from this picture is pain. This is a really difficult picture to talk about especially because it s a
picture of me, but I think it became easier to talk about it and its language because I didn t remember
when the picture was taken. I also asked a few of my peers to give me their overall impression of the
picture and it was exactly the same as my impression of the picture. They glanced at it then glanced at
it again, noticing me off center. Then they spent a few good moments looking at my expression and
body language.
The second medium that I chose is a song by Sarah McLachlan. The song is called Angel . It is a fairly
simple song consisting of only a piano and her singing. There is no real intricate beats or rhythms, and
the song is really clear. Anytime I listen to it, I have to listen to it maybe three or four times just to get
the feel of it. I would categorize this song as black and white, but I find myself trying to assign colors
to the song, as well as texture and smell. From listening to the song, I get the image of a rainy day
towards the beginning, then the rainy day gradually changing to the sun breaking through the clouds.
When she starts singing the chorus, I feel like rays from the sun are starting to break through

Statement of Purpose to Attend Either Colorado State...
College is very important for people who want to become successful later on in life. The colleges that
I have looked at attending, and that could get me further in life are: Colorado State University (CSU)
and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). UNC and CSU both have great educational systems.
All of UNC s classes are smaller in size, CSU has more students enrolled, making the class sizes
bigger. CSU and UNC are both close areas to Milliken. CSU is more known throughout the country
for its sports, and UNC has a good sports program. Both colleges would be great to go to, due to in
state tuition and all the majors each offer. CSU lacks a baseball team and is located in a more crowded
area. My opinion is UNC would be a better college to attend, for many reasons. One is that not many
people attend UNC. Also, UNC is located in a less crowded place. The education would be better too,
because you could get more one on one time with the professors. UNC allows students with as low as
a 2.7 GPA from high school to attend, which is good for students who need a degree for a job and have
struggled some in high school. UNC would be better for students who want to go into the field of
accounting because they offer all three degrees for that area. Going to college is the first step to
getting a job and learning how to live in society.
There are many requirements to get into either of the colleges. Both colleges require two years of a
foreign language in high school. CSU recommends at

The Epistle To The Philippian
Paul is attributed with writing the Epistle to the Philippians, and no serious doubt is raised against the
claim otherwise. It was during Paul s second missionary journey, he and his companions set sail from
Troas and took a straight course to Samothrace, the following day to Neapolis, and from there to
Philippi, which is a leading city of the district of Macedonia and a Roman colony (Acts 12:11 12).
They remained in the city, where they met a small group of Jews attending a prayer meeting by the
river. Paul was able to preach to them, and Lydia and her household was baptized. However, the
writing of the Epistle to the Philippians was not a joyous occasion for Paul because he was in prison in
Rome. The church of Philippi sent Epaphroditus to take care of Paul s ... Show more content on

Later, Paul still sent a letter to the church of Philippians by Epaphroditus for several reason. First, he

encourage the church, but he rebuked them for their disunity and contentiousness. His letter provided
a sharp disagreement against the possibility of the Gospel being hindered because of the discord
within the church. Paul wanted them to understand and imitate the same humility demonstrated by
Christ (Acts 2). He admonishes the church to be of the same mind, having the same love, a being in
full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others
as better than yourselves (Acts 2:2 3). He further shows the faithfulness and humility of two of his
companions, Timothy and Epaphroditus as examples of individuals in harmony with the fulfillment of
the work of Christ. According to D.A Carson and Douglas Moo, it is possible that Paul further wrote
to the church to thank them for their gift, to commend Timothy to them, and to prepare for his possible

William Gibson s The Miracle Worker
In the book The Miracle Worker by William Gibson, Gibson utilizes diverse dramatic technique, props
and finger spelling in order to represent the internal and external conflicts between Helen Keller, and
Annie Sullivan throughout the play. Annie, the miracle worker who used to be blind has an external
conflict with Helen, who is blind, deaf, and partly mute. However, throughout the act, the relationship
starts to build and develops to a happy ending. Annie, who lost her loving brother Jimmie, suffers
from flashbacks which she cannot easily overcome the tragic memories. However, throughout the
book, Annie starts to overcome the bad memories by the interaction with Helen. In act 1, the external
conflict between Helen and Annie is significantly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Annie! Annie, don t let them take me Annie!...But this voice is real, in the present, and Annie comes
up out of her horror, clearing her head with a final shake (22). This depicts Annie s painful memories
about her dead brother Jimmie on the past. It is inferable that Jimmie was taken from some stranger
and this was a very horrible event for Annie since the bad memory even comes out in her dream.
Addition to that it is also inferable that Annie regrets herself for not saving her brother no matter how
bad her condition was also. The memory of the tragic past remains to be her inner conflict. I crawled
in her like a drowned rat, I thought I died when Jimmie died, that I d Never again come alive. (20).
This quote is another example of Annie s tragic memory of the moment when Jimmie died but she got
to continue with her living. For Annie, this memory of her loving brother dead will be never be
forgotten in her life. This inner conflict which Annie will carry through her whole life leads her to be
more perseverance and caring characteristics when educating Helen to communicate. In act 2, Annie
continues with her inner conflict of flashback of her brother Jimmie, but she now gets stronger to
overcome the past experience. You said we ll be together, forever and ever and ever...Goodbye

Siddhartha Hero s Journey
Is it the goal, or is it the journey? Although this seems like a complicated question it is in fact simple,
as is the reason to why, there is no goal without the journey. Seen through almost all aspects of life the
journey is the true story, whereas the goal is just an ending point that is often altered or changed
completely. In the novel Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse the goal metamorphosizes after all of the
obstacles and trials the main protagonists underwent, into something different than what was
originally the main aim in his life. The two documentaries God Grew Tired of Us narrated by Nicole
Kidman and Dive! Trailer: Short Documentary On Dumpster Diving In The US is a documentary
filmed by Jeremy Seifert both emphasize that even if the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Showcasing that the journey of each human being is not as important as the final goal God had in
place when he first put people with each other on Earth (Ronblue99, 2008). In the Hitchhiker s Guide
to the Galaxy a short video based off the book series from Douglas Adams the people shown in the
clip spend their already ephemeral lives relying on the hope that one day the Supercomputer will
inform them what the meaning of life is. Centuries pass and they do not learn anything, never allowing
themselves to experience any of life s trials and victories because they are so absorbed in the need for
knowledge and nirvana they believe will be gained from the answer to The Question (warmandreal,
2010). In The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost the speaker is experiencing the vicissitudes of human
emotion as they stand at the fork in the forest, attempting to make the right choice to go down the
better path. This poem symbolizes how a person can have the goal in mind of getting to their
destination and therefore choose a path that they believe is better and claiming to desire to come again
in the future to find out what the other path held and stating that the path he choice was the least
traveled to justify the speaker s actions (Frost, 1916). This displays that when a person is occupied by
a set goal they could possibly miss vital lessons, visuals, opportunities, and experiences in life because
they do not have enough time to stray from their path long enough to learn or see anything that might
deter them (Frost,

Powerade Case Study
Powerade is a sports energy drink manufactured by Coca Cola. It has been around since 1988 and was
intended to compete with Gatorade in the sports drink industry. After being introduced, it successfully
became the official sports drink for the Olympics of that year. Their product line consists of only
beverages and lacks complementary goods like protein bars or energizing snacks. Their two specific
products is the Powerade ION4 and Powerade ZERO. ZERO is a healthy alternative for consumers in
which the product has zero calories in the beverage. It is not typically recommended for intense heavy
training. Instead they have the ION4 as a substitute for those who train hard. Despite the differences,
both products include the electrolytes needed to replace the ones lost to respiration and sweating
during workouts. In terms of this product s current lifecycle, many arguments could definitely be
made for its status. Since there is only two major giants or manufacturers in the sports drink industry, I
would consider Powerade to be in a late maturity stage of their product life cycle. It is obviously
behind Gatorade in terms of sales. I would argue late maturity because of the product s longevity on
the market. They have lowered their costs over the years and in return this means lowered profits, but
this strategy allows them to compete. Gatorade is the premium on the market and their sales are still
up. According to Business Insider, I reviewed graphs of the market share of both

Social Intelligence And Social Quotient

place. To keep up, we must be able to present ourselves as a total package in and outside of work.
Therefore the need of Social Quotient has risen for a working professional which is equally important
as Intelligence Quotient Emotional Quotient. The degree of Social Quotient increases when it comes
to working women. This paper would attempt to find reasons of success in working women due to

Eugenic Decision-Making
Eugenics is defined, in some way or the other, as the process of reshaping the human race by
determining the kinds of people who will be born. As such, there is much debate in the field of
eugenics, with authors, like Philip Kitcher, who support laissez faire or a minimalist approach of
eugenics in which eugenic decision making should be limited only to avoid neurological illnesses and
in which parental free choice is valued. Gregory Stock s essay, The Enhanced and Un Enhanced,
presents otherwise by supporting the position of maximalist eugenics, allowing individuals the full
extent in the selection of genes. On the other hand, the film, Gattaca, raises major ethical problems by
illustrating a dystopian society resulted by extensive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, enlightened eugenics calls for the education on the basis of minimalist eugenics while
responsible eugenics would use reliable genetic tests in order to avoid neurological diseases and
prevent the previously mentioned dangers caused by laissez faire eugenics. Kitcher s view of utopian
eugenics envisions a society in which genetics allow people to make free and educated reproductive
choices and in which the education broadens an understanding of the likely quality of a modest life.
Contrary to Kitcher s minimalist model that constrains eugenic decisions only to avoid neurological
diseases, Gregory Stock s position in the debate defends maximalist eugenics in which individuals
have total free eugenic decision making, including enhancement, without any state coercion. He wants
readers to accept and adopt such a position by arguing that genetic engineering such as selecting and
alternating embryos is an inevitable future and human destiny (7, Stock, CC p.279). For example, if
redesigning humans became commonplace, Stock reasons that parents would give their children
endowments they desire but could not otherwise obtain and thus further expand life s possibilities to
the next generation (8, Stock, CC p.276). In this society, people s genes would become an embodiment
of their parents values and preferences. People would arguably want such endowments since they
would view modifications as beneficial in

  • 2. Bacchae Of Euripides Analysis The Chorus was an integral part of the Greek tragedies, and this is no different in The Bacchae of Euripides. This Chorus is made up of women celebrants of Dionysus, the Bacchae or Maenads. It is important to understand that the Chorus is not made up of the women celebrants from Thebes. Instead, the Chorus is made up of women who have traveled from Asia and followed Dionysus to Thebes. These women are true initiates of the Bacchae, unlike the women from Thebes who have not been officially inducted to the Maenads. This division makes it seem as though the women from Thebes are undergoing a hazing or probationary period to be sure they are worthy of entering the Maenads. The Chorus uses choral interludes to add commentary on what is happening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Chorus calls on him to arrive in one of his many different forms, such as the bull, serpent, or lion, and to capture Pentheus in his fatal net (1018 1022). The Maenads will be the ones to finish the deed, but the sighting of Dionysus will make them go into such a frenzy that Pentheus family, especially his mother, will not even realize who it is that they are ripping to shreds. The initiated Maenads from Asia already know the effect that the sighting would have on the women, so they call on Dionysus to show himself so that the women inflict the appropriate justice on the man who questions Dionysus authority. The overall message or lesson in The Bacchae of Euripides seems to be the importance of revering the gods, and the punishment that could ensue if they are not properly worshipped and respected. The interludes, especially the Fourth Chorus, warn of these punishments and the justice that will be served if mortals cannot revere the powerful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. William Lyon Mackenzie King In Canada During The 1930 s During the 1930s there were only 2 main political figures for Canada and those 2 figures were William Lyon Mackenzie King the grandson of William Lyon Mackenzie and the second leader being R.B Bennett a powerful business man during the 1920s. Both very distinguished leaders had their own ideas for Canada but which one of these men handled the position better? During the 20s William Lyon Mackenzie King was in power and he did quite a good job with his policies to help the farmers after the first world war and many other policies that he instated during the time. The trouble began when the 1930s hit. This time is commonly referred to as the great depression or the stock market crash in the USA. I strongly believe that because of his policies, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This led to him losing the election in 1930 and getting R.B Bennett elected. During the year of 1935 King finally realized that the depression wasn t just going to go over easily. He instated the policy of Freer Trade with the USA very quickly after being voted back into office in 1935. This policy fixed the barriers for the tariffs that were put into place by R.B Bennett during his time in office whilst the great depression had just gotten into motion. King also created the National Employment Commission which was created to fix the unemployment rates in Canada and to create new jobs for unemployed Canadians. Though ineffective it was a good idea because it led to the increased budget in 1938 from 20 Million to 25 Million dollars for relief from the depression. In addition to the increased budget the government also offered loans to municipalities which led to the National Housing Act which allowed the reconstruction of houses within Canada. Bennetts policies were referred to as Reform and Relief Policies. His first plan to solve the depression was to give $20 million towards relief for the winter of 1930. • 7. Quotes On Hester Prynne Hester Prynne adulteress and sinner, but also strong, courageous and kind. She lives with the first two words as her identity, with the scarlet A as her name tag; A reminder to everyone and herself of her sins. In The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne; Hawthorne expresses his belief that everyone has an equal potential for sin, what causes people to be different from each other is how they react to their sin. The sins committed by people can affect them differently than how it may affect another person. Sin is not something that everyone feels the same way about. Lucius Annaeus Seneca makes a point saying that: The first step in a person s salvation is knowledge of their sin . There is no way we can resolve our sins alone. We can only acknowledge our sin and repent; We can try to be the best versions of ourselves but sin does not just disappear. It is a daily trouble everyone s life, sin changes every person from the individual they are supposed to be. For example, Hester accepts what she has one and tries to move on and redeem herself by helping the poor and raising her daughter. On the contrary, Chillingsworth dwells in his sins and submits to what he had done making him become dark and satan like. He no longer can recognize admirability, he has a focused on revenge and hate. There are also people comparable to Dimmesdale, who hide their sins in shame of what they have done, unable to move on. The Scarlet Letter genuinely shows the difference between the Puritan s view of sin versus the Romantics view of Sin. The Puritan church is deeply adamant that all sins should be punished; sin not easily forgiven and forgiveness is to be earned if possible. The entire scene is very hypocritical. The leaders and ministers hold themselves on a pedestal, as though they have never done wrong. An impeccable example; Arthur Dimmesdale, the man who Hester has an affair with, ironically the one who is questioning her and trying to convince her to tell the leaders who the father was. He knew without a doubt Pearl was his daughter. He was playing clue; keeping himself unblemished. Hester is a symbol of the new Romantic Era that was to come shortly after the uptight Puritan Church. Romantics held the beliefs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Road Not Taken And Robert Frost Comparison Analysis Imagine being outside with the colorful leaves falling to the ground in warm, comfy clothes and hot chocolate in a mug. Often times poets use nature and sensory detail to inspire their writing and engage their audience with a mental connection. One can compare and contrast Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken to Emily Mottley, Annijah Collins, and McKenna Faychak s Seasons Changing by using specific details from each poem. When interpreting the The Road Not Taken and Seasons Changing, one can justify that the differences are their poetic structures and making different choices, while at the same time recognize that the similarities are that each use nature images, references to Autumn, and an abundant amount of detail to paint a picture for the reader. To begin differentiating, one can first analyze the use of poetic structure in The Road Not Taken in contrast to Seasons Changing through rhyme scheme, stanzas, and rhyme pattern. The authors use different ending rhyme schemes in their poems. For example, Frost uses the structure ABAAB exemplified by the words from stanza 2: fair, claim, wear, there, same (Frost 6 10), while Mottley, Collins, and Faychak incorporate the rhyme scheme of a coupling pattern by two lines rhyming with eachother using the words: brown, down, weather, together, cold, old, cuddle, and couple (Mottley, Collins and Faychak 1 8). Correspondingly, Frost has five lines in each of his four stanzas, while Mottley, Collins, and Faychak have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Deep Ocean: The truth of the Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea Everyone might have once imagined dark environments and scary creatures which live in the deep sea. These childlike dreams are visualized in the popular novel, Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea. As time passed, the technology of submergence surprisingly developed, and now most of the submergence is conducted with unman probes.@@ A unique environment exists in the deep sea which is totally different from the sea that people normally can experience. Then, why is the environment so different between deep sea and the surface of the sea? There are three major factors that make the deep sea so mysterious and unique: light, temperature, and pressure. According to the blog of Marine Bio tech, the deep sea is cloaked in perpetual darkness because light cannot penetrate the great amount of water. Therefore, in order to adapt to the dark environment, most of the fish have larger than average tubular eyes with only rod cell. In 1862 President Lincoln and congress created the income tax to help fund the Civil War, but was later removed after 10 years (IRS, 2016). In 1894 Congress tried to reenact the income tax but the Supreme Court Stated it was unconstitutional. In 1913, with the 16th amendment, Congress was able yet again to bring back income tax, which helped to pay for World War I and II. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People are going hungry because of poverty, not because of a shortage of food (Silverbush, 2012). The problems arising from factory farms are only getting bigger and more disastrous to the environment. These farms raise hundreds or thousands of animals in close confinement; otherwise know as concentrated animal feeding operations or CAFOs. Large CAFOs are controlled under federal and state pollution regulations because they produce massive quantities of animal waste that can pose environmental and heath hazards if mishandled (Weeks, 3). So why would farmers be farming this way it is so dangerous? The answer is simple; these farms can produce large quantities of food cheaply. If a farm can produce more hogs or calves, its profit is larger. In order for farmers to stay on their land, they are forced into poorly paid off farm employment (Food). Livestock farmers are told that they must adopt the new industrial technologies that make CAFO s feasible, if they expect to have a future in farming (Kallen, 64). The byproducts of such farms are producing harmful odors. The runoff from these farms pollutes streams and groundwater with antibiotics, insecticides, pathogens and emits poisonous gases that are hazardous and create offensive odors (Weeks, 2). The question now becomes, is factory farming the only way out? Is an industrial approach to agriculture needed to feed the poor and hungry of the world? The answer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lean manufacturing is most frequently associated with the elimination of seven important wastes to ameliorate the effects of variability in supply, processing time or demand defined it as a philosophy of manufacturing that focuses on delivering the highest quality product on time and at the lowest cost. Lean manufacturing requires machines which are reliable and efficient. Inventories can be reduced when machine downtime is minimized. Work processes across the value stream should also be emphasized in lean manufacturing. Processes should be performed with a minimum of non value added activities in order to reduce waiting time, queuing time, moving time, and other delays Besides this, standardization of work processes is needed to facilitate efficient, safe work methods and eliminate wastes, while maintaining quality.Itensures a consistent performance and creates a foundation for continuous improvement. Nowadays, a product with high quality is a prerequisite for any manufacturer. Quality is a major focus in lean manufacturing because poor quality management would result in many wastes such as scraps and rejects. Appropriate quality management helps to control a manufacturing process, and this reduces safety buffers and exposes quality issues. Reduction of safety buffers will eventually lead to reduction of inventories. Employees who are motivated and empowered are essential since people are the key element in lean manufacturing. Japanese regard people as assets because they are the ones who are going to solve problems and improve processes in production. Following this, strategies for improving the competitive position of the company will be outlined. ABInBev is a multinational beverage and brewing company based in Belgium. It is the largest brewer in the world with a 20.8% market share (Statista, 2016) and is also one of the world s top five consumer goods companies. Figure 1: Market share by volume (Statista, 2016) The brewing industry is interesting to examine due to its relatively unique structure. Up until November 2015, the market was dominated by four main players, known informally as the Big Four . AB InBev was the largest, followed by SABMiller, Heineken and Carlsberg. In November 2015, however, ABInBev and SABMiller agreed a formal $107 billion takeover deal, combining the brewers into a company which industry experts claim would control around half of the industry s profits (Mickle, 2015). As a result of the sheer size and complexity of the merger, it is anticipated that the deal will not be finalised until the second half of 2016 as ABInBev must negotiate with anti trust regulators around the world with respect to their potential monopolistic position. As the deal is yet to be completed, this report will analyse ABInBev independent of SABMiller. Environmental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Aphra Ben s Oroonoko and Daniel Defoe s Moll Flanders In his Dictionary of Literary Terms, Harry Shaw defines the novel: In effective narrative literature, fictional persons, through characterization, become so credible that they exist for the reader as real people, he says (1). Many eighteenth century British novelists neglected to earn this credibility. Looking specifically at Aphra Behn s Oroonoko and Daniel Defoe s Moll Flanders, Shaw s definition becomes especially difficult to apply to Moll and Oroonoko s narrator. While the novels should not be declared unsuccessful in their entireties, perhaps the sincerity claimed in both introductions only lessens their overall believability. In the opening lines of his preface, Defoe tells us, the Author is here suppos d to be writing her own History (1). Behn makes a similar claim in his novel: I was myself an eyewitness to a great part, of what you will find here set down, and what I could not be witness of, I received from the mouth of the chief actor in this history, the hero himself (75). And soon the authors claims prove themselves to be untrue with a sizeable lack of reality in their characterization. Perhaps we cannot blame the authors themselves, but rather their time. Serving as the inventors of the realist novel, eighteenth century writers like Aphra Behn and Daniel Defoe were without a foundation to follow and with the development of characters that are perhaps too unique, situations idealized, and blatant claims of truthfulness, thus fail to convince the ... Meanwhile, in case 3 and 4, log10 of symH, AL and Bz were used instead. These parameters were selected for manipulation through a trial and error process as well as based on previous studies and understanding of the parameters. From Figure 2, it is clear that the values predicted by bagging, boost and neural network methods came very close to actual values. In the Hitchhiker s Guide to the Galaxy a short video based off the book series from Douglas Adams the people shown in the clip spend their already ephemeral lives relying on the hope that one day the Supercomputer will inform them what the meaning of life is. Centuries pass and they do not learn anything, never allowing themselves to experience any of life s trials and victories because they are so absorbed in the need for knowledge and nirvana they believe will be gained from the answer to The Question (warmandreal, 2010). In The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost the speaker is experiencing the vicissitudes of human emotion as they stand at the fork in the forest, attempting to make the right choice to go down the better path. This poem symbolizes how a person can have the goal in mind of getting to their destination and therefore choose a path that they believe is better and claiming to desire to come again in the future to find out what the other path held and stating that the path he choice was the least traveled to justify the speaker s actions (Frost, 1916). This displays that when a person is occupied by a set goal they could possibly miss vital lessons, visuals, opportunities, and experiences in life because they do not have enough time to stray from their path long enough to learn or see anything that might deter them (Frost, ... • 33. Powerade Case Study Powerade is a sports energy drink manufactured by Coca Cola. It has been around since 1988 and was intended to compete with Gatorade in the sports drink industry. After being introduced, it successfully became the official sports drink for the Olympics of that year. Their product line consists of only beverages and lacks complementary goods like protein bars or energizing snacks. Their two specific products is the Powerade ION4 and Powerade ZERO. ZERO is a healthy alternative for consumers in which the product has zero calories in the beverage. It is not typically recommended for intense heavy training. Instead they have the ION4 as a substitute for those who train hard. Despite the differences, both products include the electrolytes needed to replace the ones lost to respiration and sweating during workouts. In terms of this product s current lifecycle, many arguments could definitely be made for its status. Since there is only two major giants or manufacturers in the sports drink industry, I would consider Powerade to be in a late maturity stage of their product life cycle. It is obviously behind Gatorade in terms of sales. I would argue late maturity because of the product s longevity on the market. They have lowered their costs over the years and in return this means lowered profits, but this strategy allows them to compete. Gatorade is the premium on the market and their sales are still up. According to Business Insider, I reviewed graphs of the market share of both ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Social Intelligence And Social Quotient I. Abstract: Gone are the days when one used to think that IQ EQ are only the two components required in a work place. Therefore the need of Social Quotient has risen for a working professional which is equally important as Intelligence Quotient Emotional Quotient. The degree of Social Quotient increases when it comes to working women. This paper would attempt to find reasons of success in working women due to their Social Quotient. The paper would also cite differences of SQ in male female in their working environment. • 35. Eugenic Decision-Making Eugenics is defined, in some way or the other, as the process of reshaping the human race by determining the kinds of people who will be born. As such, there is much debate in the field of eugenics, with authors, like Philip Kitcher, who support laissez faire or a minimalist approach of eugenics in which eugenic decision making should be limited only to avoid neurological illnesses and in which parental free choice is valued. Gregory Stock s essay, The Enhanced and Un Enhanced, presents otherwise by supporting the position of maximalist eugenics, allowing individuals the full extent in the selection of genes. On the other hand, the film, Gattaca, raises major ethical problems by illustrating a dystopian society resulted by extensive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, enlightened eugenics calls for the education on the basis of minimalist eugenics while responsible eugenics would use reliable genetic tests in order to avoid neurological diseases and prevent the previously mentioned dangers caused by laissez faire eugenics. Kitcher s view of utopian eugenics envisions a society in which genetics allow people to make free and educated reproductive choices and in which the education broadens an understanding of the likely quality of a modest life. Contrary to Kitcher s minimalist model that constrains eugenic decisions only to avoid neurological diseases, Gregory Stock s position in the debate defends maximalist eugenics in which individuals have total free eugenic decision making, including enhancement, without any state coercion. He wants readers to accept and adopt such a position by arguing that genetic engineering such as selecting and alternating embryos is an inevitable future and human destiny (7, Stock, CC p.279). For example, if redesigning humans became commonplace, Stock reasons that parents would give their children endowments they desire but could not otherwise obtain and thus further expand life s possibilities to the next generation (8, Stock, CC p.276). In this society, people s genes would become an embodiment of their parents values and preferences. People would arguably want such endowments since they would view modifications as beneficial in ...
