Financial Aid Advisor
 Counsel 800 plus students monthly on the financial aid process, along with parents and the
public regarding federal, state, and college-wide financial aid resources and options,
culminating in the collective awarding of 39,000 plus students financial aid of a $110,662
plus.
 Manage a $200,000 plus budget facilitating the Federal Work Study program, providing
federalfunding for part-time work for over 40 plus undergraduate students.
 Interview and participate in the selection process for all Work Study candidates.
 Participate in 10 open house functions a year attended by 150 plus students and parents,
providing students assistance in completing their financial aid requirements.
 Plan, organize and manage the Outreach program, resulting in TCC enrolling 44,393
students.
 Manage the Financial Aid office, overseeing the work processes and products of eight
personnel, verifying their work is efficient, complete, and in consonance with department
guidelines in the absence of the primary manager.
 Research,analyze and provide problem resolution for students, by evaluating items such as
federalgrants, student loans, admittance to the college, enrollment in a curriculum or degree
program, high school diploma status,need for Compass Testing, and meeting the satisfactory
progress guidelines using PeopleSoft Student Information System (SIS) ver. 8.9.
 Counsel students selected for the verification process,and subsequently collect, collate, and
file proper financial documents from students, ensuring all requirements are met.
 Efficiently and effectively employ Microsoft Office, providing comprehensive, cohesive
phone and e-mail correspondence with approximately 500 students and parents monthly.
 Provide and clarify financial aid information, requirements, and application procedures.
 Complete G-845 Verification Requests using the SAVE system for the United States
Justice/Immigration and Naturalization Service to verify citizenship status of students.
 Assist and support the coordinator and co-workers as needed with Federal Work Study,
Scholarships, and other assigned duties to ensure that all Financial Aid Office functions are
delivered efficiently and effectively.
 Develop and conduct a comprehensive financial aid presentations to first year students.
 Develop and implement Financial Aid policies and procedures for use at a college, state,and
federallevel.
 Assist and organize activities for Hispanic heritage month
