Cobalt, copper, manganese, molybdenum, nickel,
selenium, tungsten, vanadium and zinc.
They are metals playing the role of cell’s catalysts and
many of them play a structural role in various enzymes.

Growth factors are organic compounds that a
cell must have for growth but cannot synthesize
itself.
Organic nutrients of this type are collectively
known as growth factors (essential metabolites)
and can be categorized into three groups.
Amino acids - constituents of proteins.
Purines & pyrimidines - constituents of
nucleic acids.
Vitamins - needed growth factor and form
