INTRODUCTON
Blackboard is an indicator of teachers personality/ quality mirror of
the teaching Work
Blackboard is the most suitable tool for providing a holistic picture
of the lesson. A good Blackboard clear visual presentation helps the
learner in understanding the concepts being taught.

WHEN & WHY TO USE BLACK BOARD
To convey holistic picture of the content.
To reinforce the idea which is verbally presented.
To make clarity in understanding of concepts- it is easy to
explain a particular concept by drawing some figures or a
classification table on the black board.
To add variety to the lesson and drawing attention of the
pupils to the key concepts etc.
To teach subject like mathematics- without black board we
cannot teach mathematics.
HOW TO USE BLACK BOARD?
Black board must be cleaned before or after use of it with a good
duster.
If black board is very big then it is convenient to divide it vertically.
Good quality chalks must be used. They should not make scratching
voice while writing on blackboard.
Hold the chalk in such a way that it does not break. While writing it
is recommended to use half chalk.
While writing on the blackboard stand in slanting position. Never
stand between blackboard and students to avoid the inconvenience of
the student.

1. Size of Letters and diagram
• Adequate size for letters and diagram.
• Different sizes for capital and small letters.
• Uniform size for all capital Letters
• Uniform size for all small letters
• Distinct letters

Adequate spacing between letters

3. Clarity of letters/ diagrams and legibility
 Diagrams,letters should be clear
Neat and proportionate figures should be drawn
