and spirituality and in clinical approaches. Using multivariate logistic regression analysis, the
authors examined the comparison of psychiatrists to other physicians to evaluate different religious
and demographic characteristics. This study was conducted in the form of surveys in which the
authors mailed to a random sample of 2000 practicing physicians, as well as an over sampling of
psychiatrists. Approximately 1,144 physicians completed the survey. The findings showed that
psychiatrists generally demonstrate positive influence when it comes to acknowledging religion and
spirituality on health. Based on the results of the survey 82% versus 42% stated compared to other
physicians, psychiatrists are more likely to note that religion and spirituality sometimes influence
negative emotions which cause patients to suffer more, and 92 73% stated that psychiatrists
compared to other physicians are most likely to encounter religion conversations with their patient,
and 92% versus 52% say feel that it is important and appropriate for people to talk open with their

Soon after Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia, Russian armies mobilized in support of the
Serbians in 1914. In fear that Russia would fully mobilize sooner than expected, Moltke was
forced to send troops from the western front to the eastern front two years prior to the scheduled
date. Due to a lack of preparation and reasonable strategy, The Schlieffen Plan failed to execute
properly. Thirty four divisions were expected to invade Belgium and rapidly attack France with little
resistance from Belgium, and a smaller army was scheduled to remain prepared to battle the

the French army to move forward, eventually resulting in the defeat of the French. Afterwards, the
front lines were expected to move towards Russia. This, however, did not go as scheduled because

The US healthcare system is currently undergoing what is arguably its biggest change since its
enactment in 1935 with the Social Security Act. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
was signed into law on March 23, 2010 by President Barack Obama in an attempt to bring cost
free preventative care to all American citizens. And while this may sound like good news since it
will help take care of the 54 million Americans that were uninsured in 2010 when this Act was

Not all of the aspects of the PPACA are viewed as positive however. Several portions of this act will
make cuts to necessary programs in order to finance the Act as whole. For example, the PPACA
will cut $575 billion from the Medicare budget in order to pay for the subsidies and tax breaks that
the program offers and many experts argue that this could not come at a worse time (Weinstein
2010). The baby boomers are starting to come of age for Medicare and the program is going to
be under more stress than it has ever experienced before. To put it into perspective, 77 million
individuals were born during the baby boom between 1946 1965 and now with people projected
to live up to 9 years longer than when Medicare was instituted, there will be a higher demand for
Medicare that will continue to grow as more and more people become eligible (Keehan 2008).
Furthermore, with this much money being cut from Medicare, the money to fund it will have to
come from other sources such as taxes. Unfortunately, these taxes will be placed on the
individuals too young to receive Medicare and these will be added on to the new taxes that will
come as a result of the PPACA. Even though the cuts made by the Patient Protection and Affordable
Care Act are trying to save money, they are made in the wrong places and to the wrong programs
causing more problems than benefits.
