The video will feature the song "Lover of the Light" by Mumford and Sons. Scenes will be filmed of a band performing in a recording studio and front room. Close-up shots of the instruments will show the original folk genre of the song. There will also be extreme long shots of the sky to showcase natural beauty. The narrative follows the lead singer admiring the sky's light, practicing the song, and then performing. Light will parallel the music through high and low key lighting, representing both positive and insecure feelings.

Song: Lover of the Light- Mumford and Sons
Throughout our initial ideas that we have put together as a group, we have decided to use
the song “Lover of the light” by Mumford and Sons. It is an indie folk genre therefore;
originality, narrative and abstract concept will be used throughout. The video is based on
Performance therefore; we will be filming in the recording studio at college and in the
performers front room in front of an audience. In terms of cinematography a range of close
up shots will be used to make the video more interesting and to see the instruments that
are being played. We have chosen to use a range of different instruments such as; the piano
and the guitar due to the original artist being a band and using similar instruments
throughout the song.. There will also be lots of extreme long shots of the sky to show the
natural beauty and slow continuity editing will be used to show the effects of this. We will
also use match on action and eye line match shots to show the connection of the light with
the protagonist. The protagonist is the lead singer of the band and therefore, the main
character in the video. The narrative of the video is based on the idea that the protagonist is
admiring the light of the sky thinking of the song, practising it then performing it himself. In
terms of concept, the natural beauty will be exaggerated throughout the nature of the trees
and the sky.However, the light will be parallel to the music due to the fact that there will be
a lot of high key lighting as well as low key lighting used throughout. In terms of the
iconography used, the light and sky will be an icon to represent happiness and positive
meaning. There will also be shadows to represent insecurity yet when the light is portrayed
it represents positive feelings such as confidence. Moreover, the natural setting is a method
of escape from mundane life which consists of sorrow and bore. However, through the icon
of the sky and light the radiance and elegance of it is able to give the audience a sense of
happiness as well as a bit of appreciation. This is due to the fact that it shows a spiritual
reconnection to our natural wild side.
