An Examination of Constructive Feedback, Trust towards Leaders and Self-Effic...Universiti Sains Malaysia
Â
...This quantitative descriptive study aimed to identify the influence of trust towards leaders on the relationship between constructive feedback and self-efficacy of teaching. In particular, the objective of this study was to identify whether the affective- and cognition-based trust towards leaders to become a mediator in the relationship between constructive feedback and self-efficacy of teaching. A total of 411 lecturers randomly selected from the five polytechnics which successfully obtained an overall excellent performance including academic standards and quality management through the recognition of the polytechnic ratings. Data for this survey were collected through a questionnaire which was adapted from an instrument used by Steelman, Levy, and Snell (2004), McAllister (1995), and Tschannen-Moran and Hoy (2001). The results of multiple regression analysis showed that trust towards leaders influence positively and significantly on constructive feedback and self-efficacy of teaching. Trust towards leaders acts as a mediator on the relationship between constructive feedback and self-efficacy of teaching. In terms of the implications of this study show the role of the middle leader is especially important in fostering the trust among his followers to ensure that the feedback received and used effectively in developing the followers’ potential.

We all do our research and put an effort in making a clear and an accurate presentation, but I'd be glad if this could help especially for those who are taking major in English and/or teaching pronunciation. Good luck!
A proper credit would be appreciated.

ASSESSMENT vs. TESTING vs. MEASUREMENT vs. EVALUATION
Reflection in teaching refers to the practice of educators critically examining and analyzing their teaching experiences, methods, and outcomes. It involves thoughtful and deliberate self-assessment and evaluation of one's teaching practices with the aim of improving teaching and enhancing student learning. Reflection is an integral part of professional development for teachers and can take various forms, including self-reflection, peer observation and feedback, and collaborative reflection with colleagues.
In educating the students, teachers’ beliefs on teaching and learning influenced not only on what to teach and how to do it, but also on how to assess their students. Education has a goal that students can apply the knowledge gained in real world activities. Through assessment process, it helps them to understand their strengths and weaknesses of their abilities development. This research aims to find out teachers’ beliefs about performance assessment and how they use it to assess their students in one of public college under The Ministry of Industry in Indonesia. Data findings are obtained by using interviews, observation and document analysis conducted on T1 and T2 as the participants. Researcher used the five elements of performance assessment to make the instruments and analyze the findings. Results indicated that there were differences between what they say and what they do. The differences appeared because of the theories they knew, their own knowledge and experiences they have in teaching.

1. Q. 3 Researcher wants to study Teacher Effectiveness of Junior college Teacher. Frame the Title,
write 4 objectives and 4 hypothesis.
A. Education is a process of communication between the teacher and the student, where in 90% of
the communication is that of the teacher. In order that education be effective, the teacher –student
interaction needs to be effective, where in teacher effectiveness comes to play. To understand
teacher effectiveness we need to first consider the meaning of “effectiveness’. Effectiveness means
the ability to deliver, to meet the target, to reach the pre- set goals/ objectives, with competency
which require knowledge, skill, values and communication strategies.
Anderson (1991) stated that, ‘Teacher effectiveness is a matter of degree to which a teacher
achieves the desired effects upon the students. Dunkin ( 1997) defined Teacher competence as the
extent to which the teacher possesses the request knowledge and skills, and the teacher
performance as the way a teacher behaves in the process of teaching.
Thus Teacher Effectiveness is a broad concept, which includes characteristics, competencies and
behavior of the teachers at all education levels that enables students to reach to desired outcomes,
meet the learning objectives, become problem solvers, think critically, work as teams, and become
effective citizens.
To investigate and understand the concept of Teacher effectiveness, a researcher must be able to
link teacher competence and teacher performance with the accomplishment of the teacher goals.
Based on these observations the researcher, Teacher effectiveness could be studied any one of the
following ways:-
1. Effective Teacher tends to be aware of and actively pursues goals. These goals guide their
planning as well as their behavior and interaction with students in the classroom.
2. Teaching is intentional – done for the purpose of facilitating learning and a reasoned act-
because what teachers teacher is judged by the students achievements and behavior.
To find the title of our research at hand we need to first list the qualities of an effective Teacher.
1. Accountability
2. Analytical Thinking
3. Committed
4. Conceptual Thinking
5. Confidence
6. Drive for improvement of self and others
7. Flexibility
8. Initiative
9. Information seeking
10. Leadership
11. Professionalism
12. Passion for learning
13. Respect for others
14. Trustworthy
2. Effectiveness of the teacher is an interaction of several factors or variables. The criteria for
selecting the variables becomes critical to investigate the teacher effectiveness which are lists
1. Product Variable: These investigate how much the students have learned and achieved.
These include all domains- cognitive, affective and psychomotor.
i) Students gain in the subject matter, knowledge and related abilities
ii) Students gain in psychomotor skills and related abilities
iii) Students gain in interests, attitudes, personality integration and other effective
characteristics.
These can be directly assessed with tests and performance ratings before and after, during and after
the instruction.
2. Teacher related variables: Teacher effectiveness is encompassed in knowledge, attitudes,
and performance
Arriving at a suitable Title of the Research:
Since effectiveness is a ‘producing the desired effect’ in is important that the researcher specifics
what is the indictor of effectiveness.
Teacher Effectiveness in this case we have identified as improvement made by students in scores
in a particular subject, e.g English grammar skill, through programmed learning, wherein
performance of the students is the scores achieved by students, before and after instruction.
Thus the ‘To Study the Teacher Effectiveness through programmed instruction of English
Grammar on performance of Junior College students.’
