Hello, my name is Trisha Breckenridge, and this is my brand. On a personal note, I want to point out that I chose the theme of this presentation strategically because it reminds me of my passion, the ocean. Blue is my favorite color, and the lines at the top remind me of ocean waves. As far as brand name selection goes, I really didn’t have much choice in the name, but I think it works just fine.
I believe there are four major components that define my brand as it is now. These four characteristics are motivation, ambition, hard work, and compassion. All of these four work together and are important elements of setting and attaining goals which is part of building a strong brand. Ambition and motivation are the desire to do things and require hard work to accomplish the goals. Compassion involves empathy and an awareness of others, as well as a willingness to help them. I believe compassion is important because it also helps establish my brand as socially responsible.Brands must differentiate themselves from other brands, not only for legal purposes but in order to create competitive advantages to position it favorably to consumers. Each of these four characteristics is unique to me because of my life experience so far. Many people in the world may have similar characteristics as these listed, but none have my individual background or life experience.
Hardworking - this is demonstrated through my marketing experience thus far. Though I do not have an undergraduate degree in marketing, I have worked hard to overcome this and to become the marketing professional I am today. Hard work is required throughout this MCM program as I try to co-brand with Franklin University to produce an enhanced version of my current brand. I intend to use the MCM program as a way to further establish credibility to my brand as hardworking, and to fine-tune this as a service that I hope to bring to future employers as well as the people in my personal life.
Motivated - I have demonstrated motivation by not simply sitting back and remaining complacent. I haven’t waited for someone to tell me what to do, but rather have established a goal and through motivation I have worked and am continuing to work to obtain that goal. I am also leveraging the MCM Program to extend my brand in the motivation area by working toward a Masters degree which many of my colleagues do not have.
Compassionate - Aside from the emotional aspects that come along with being compassionate, there are great business benefits that accompany it. It feels great to help others that are in need. But also, I have taken the goals of my company, and the clients, and am making sure my goals are aligned with it. As an outcome of my completion of the MCM program, I hope to provide further value to my company with new ideas and action items that are in the company’s and clients’ best interest.
As part of leveraging the MCM program to extend my brand, I am taking my brand to the next level, an ambitious choice of mine. The decision to pursue a Master’s is ambitious because I already have a Bachelor’s degree and a full-time job as a marketing professional. But, as part of being motivated, I did not want to settle. The risk taken by Franklin University by admitting me to the MCM program is also ambitious as is the case with any unknown outcome. However, the completion of the MCM program will demonstrate my ability to successfully co-brand and prove the effectiveness of ambition as a differentiating factor of my brand.
While I believe these four characteristics are important to my brand equity as of today, I am confident that I will be able to leverage my completion of the MCM program to transform my brand in an even more appealing way in the future. I am using this MCM program as a way to take a proactive approach to my current marketing environment. I am trying to anticipate the consumers’ needs and wants and proactively position myself as what I think they will want/need. The consumer in this instance is my future employer or employees, as well as the general people around me in my world. I intend to extend my brand in the four areas mentioned in this presentation. But I also intend to penetrate characteristics in the categories of well-rounded, strategic, intelligent, determined, and creative. In this co-branding initiative with Franklin University, I hope to bring pride to both my brand and the MCM program upon my completion of the program and my entry into the world, both the business and my personal environment, as an improved version of my current brand image.
