Masthead font styles
- 1. Masthead Font Styles Name: Shaune Hazlehurst Candidate Number: 3065 Centre Number: 64135
- 2. Masthead Font Styles Font Name: Asiyah Script The denotation of the name of the font style I will use for the masthead for my magazine is Asiyah Script. The style of this font is very stylish and curly which connotes to the magazine having lots of style and ‘FLAVA’. This is useful as it highlights to the reader that this magazine is professional while still having a stylish theme to it. Furthermore this font style is a font that is aesthetically pleasing through its use of looking like it was written with a fountain pen.
- 3. Masthead Font Styles Font Name: Mona Shark The denotation of this font style is Mona Shark which has similarities to a comic book. This links to the title ‘FLAVA’ as comic books are known to be expressive and original and this links to my own magazine as it is an original magazine with its own expressive elements. The font is bold and has a 3D effect. This 3D effect makes the title jump out to the reader and is eye catching, making this one of the first words they read.
- 4. Masthead Font Styles Font Name: The Frontman 2 The denotation of the name is Frontman 2. The use of the letters not being fully written and separated connotes to the magazine having a dark theme to it as it looks dated and used, furthermore it connotes to the magazine having many sections to it and that the sections have lots of information to them. As some of the letters have sharp ends to them it highlights the magazine having a cool dark undertone and so listeners to the sub-genre of underground Hip-hop will be more attracted to the magazine.
- 5. Masthead Font Styles Font Name: DK Hofstad The denotation of this font style is DK Hofstad. This style is very simplistic and also is a very professional font due to its simplistic look. Furthermore it is easy to read and formal, it correlates to the word ‘FLAVA’ as it shows the magazine has its own style and fair while being formal and professional. Furthermore the ‘AVA’ fit together like a ‘lock and key’ and it is aesthetically pleasing to look at for the reader.
- 6. Masthead Font Style – FINAL Idea Font Name: DK Hofstad The reason I decided to choose this font style over the choices was because this font style is my favourite font style out of all the one I have chosen. Furthermore I believe this font style will make my magazine look superior to other magazines due to its simplicity and professionalism. This font style is different than the XXL magazine font style as I don’t believe that font would suit the title of my magazine.
