What I am going to ‘Repeat’ (Steve Neale - 1980) on my
Contents Page
• One of the things that I am going to ‘Repeat’ (Steve Neale - 1980) on the contents page
are the main images of the ‘Stars’. This is to create ‘star appeal’ (Richard Dyer) which
will be able to attract readers to look at and read the articles with these ‘stars’ in them.
• Another thing that I am going to ‘Repeat’ (Steve Neale - 1980) are the sublines. These
are a brief description of the article. By using these I will be able to attract different

The Language of this article is vey informal,

a rapport with the reader, as well as show
the stereotypical implications that people

What I am going to ‘Repeat’ (Steve Neale - 1980) on the
Double Page Spread
• One of the things that I am going to ‘repeat’ (Steve Neale - 1980) on the double
page spread is the black and white image. This is because it will give the page a
more old vintage look, which will appeal to the target audience . Also the fact that
the page is black and white, adds to the shadow effect that is seen on the main
artist. This is able to give the page a tense, dangerous feeling, causing the artists
show to look more powerful.
• Another thing that I am going to ‘repeat ‘ (Steve Neale - 1980) on the double page
spread is the Drop Capital. This is to attract the readers attention the beginning to
the article, which will cause them to read the first few lines. If the enjoy the way
the article is going it will make it more likely that they will carry on reading the
article. By doing this, the reader will become more involved with the artist featured
on the double page spread, even if they don’t read the article the whole way
through. This will be able to peak an interest of the artist in the reader, making it
much more likely to listen to the music the make as well as making it more likely
that the reader will read the same or a different interview in the magazine.
• On top of that I am going to ‘repeat’ (Steve Neale - 1980) on the double page
spread is the stand first at the beginning of the article. This will be used to ‘inform’
(Katz) the reader what the article is about, giving them an idea whether they will
be interested in reading the article or not. Also it will help the reader to understand
more about the artist that is featured in the article, giving them more context,
which will be able to make it easier for the reader to understand what the article is
about if they choose to read it.
