Coelho writes a beautiful and moving legend of the boy s journey and
enlightenment. I did find the title rather odd. There is an alchemist in the novel
whom the shepherd boy meets and who, indeed, helps him in many ways and
actually sort of makes the shepherd boy into an alchemist himself. But the use of
the definite article the in the title seems a bit confusing. It would seem, on Coelho
s account, that anyone who actually achieves his or her Personal Legend becomes
an alchemist, changing the baser life we have from birth into the gold of our own

ironically, does not reveal the mystery of who killed a girl named Ashlee and the
suffering of Emily Shepherd. Christopher builds suspicion among characters but
the mystery is never resolved. Ashlee Parker is dead, and Emily Shepherd s dad is
accused of the crime. A former soldier suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder,
he emerges from the woods carrying the girl s broken body. It makes him a suspect
but it is not clear he killed Ashlee. His daughter Emily looks for evidence to prove
her father s innocence but she created more suspects. Lucy Christopher adds suspects
as the story goes on and shows how Emily supports her father and finds evidences to

discuss is Charles Fox Parham. He is the man generally recognized as the formulation
of Pentecostal doctrine and the theological founder of the movement. Parham held to
the theological argument that tongues are always the initial evidence of a person
receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He also taught the necessity of being
baptized with the Holy Spirit as the only way to escape the great tribulation. In
October 1900 Parham opened a bible school in Topeka, Kansas and in December he
led his students through a study of the tenets of the Holiness movement. The
students came to study the book of Acts and during the study Parham asked them to
find scriptural evidence of the baptism with the Holy Spirit. It was out of this study
that led Parham to the conclusion this was the biblical way a person received the

Rheumatism is a serious disease that is rapidly increasing among elders, even though

William Blake is one of England s most famous literary figures. He is remembered
and admired for his skill as a painter, engraver, and poet. He was born on Nov. 28,
1757 to a poor Hosier s family living in or around London. Being of a poor family,
Blake received little in the way of comfort or education while growing up.
Amazingly, he did not attend school for very long and dropped out shortly after
learning to read and write so that he could work in his father s shop. The life of a
