One of the leadership qualities that is often lacking is Caring. Generally, leaders are so focussed on organizational and personal performances and success that they overlook to care for others. They are also focussed on improving their management and technical skills but their people skills improvement needs are often ignored.
This presentation provides 15 Core Qualities of Caring Leadership that leaders should constantly demonstrate.

However, there is nothing soft about mastering these skills; there is “strength” in the practice of developing these “Power” skills that are more intangible but critical to your working and interacting with the people around you effectively.
Join Microsoft MVP, personal development leader and Chief Marketing Officer of Content Panda, Heather Newman as she takes you five skills that are essential to each of us becoming stronger employees but also better humans. As the war for top talent is at an all-time high, our need for capable teammates to lighten our load has hit the "yesterday is too late" warning level, and our own desire to get much more out of our career trajectories is somewhere between red and white-hot, a simple question is rarely answered correctly: what are we to do to find the right people and to stand out ourselves?
While the traditional resume has been enhanced by better design techniques (infographics! Presi! personal websites!) and smartly maintained social presences, these mediums can (still) be too easily manipulated in the applicant's favor—just like that supposedly objective reference call that gets made in the final stages of most hiring decisions.
The answer to finding the right talent and / or positioning ourselves better therefore can't be digital, analog, or even external. Rather, it comes down to one simple thing truth: professional excellence. Either you have it, or you need to work hard to achieve it.
This presentation contains practical, next-level tips to help you become the best version of your professional self (for job seekers) and help you better vett talent (for job hirers). Come away armed with the tactics you need to grow and nurture your skills, deliver world class work product, earn trust and respect, successfully collaborate, and generally take your game up a notch so you advance your career.
Workplace conflicts are inevitable and unavoidable, whether it is a large corporate or a small business concern. As a leader, you cannot ignore conflicts. You cannot escape from them. You cannot pretend they do not exist. You have to deal with them, better sooner than later. So it is in your best interest to learn how to resolve workplace conflicts effectively.

Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman present the results of two major studies. One
offers findings from polling more than a million employees about their workplace needs.
The other is a 20-year study of how the methods of the world’s greatest managers
differ from those of lesser managers. This study involved interviews with more than
80,000 managers from 400 companies, the largest such investigation ever undertaken. The authors found key differences that fly in the face of traditional thinking about successful managerial practices. This astute, well-written report presents the major principles of great managers, and offers examples of leaders who put their knowledge of effective management into practice. The book’s conclusions rest on in-depth research, not theory.
This painstaking study authoritatively describes how employees feel about management
and explains exactly what great managers do, and why and how they achieve top results.Recommended it to everyone who manages, wants to manage or is managed.

For some new managers, the idea of giving performance reviews and being responsible for others can be intimidating. For others, there are fears about how to manage people older than them. And then there are others who worry about being accepted by their new team. I too, had these fears. But over time, I have learned a lot from peers, from mentors, and from my own employees. I made some terrible mistakes, and I had some pretty good successes. These nuggets of insight are some of the best personal learnings I’ve had in my management career, and ones which I wish I knew when I started managing people.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.

Up the Ratios Bylaws - a Comprehensive Process of Our Organizationuptheratios
Up the Ratios is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap in STEM education for underprivileged students by providing free, high-quality learning opportunities in robotics and other STEM fields. Our mission is to empower the next generation of innovators, thinkers, and problem-solvers by offering a range of educational programs that foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
At Up the Ratios, we believe that every student, regardless of their socio-economic background, should have access to the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in today's technology-driven world. To achieve this, we host a variety of free classes, workshops, summer camps, and live lectures tailored to students from underserved communities. Our programs are designed to be engaging and hands-on, allowing students to explore the exciting world of robotics and STEM through practical, real-world applications.
Our free classes cover fundamental concepts in robotics, coding, and engineering, providing students with a strong foundation in these critical areas. Through our interactive workshops, students can dive deeper into specific topics, working on projects that challenge them to apply what they've learned and think creatively. Our summer camps offer an immersive experience where students can collaborate on larger projects, develop their teamwork skills, and gain confidence in their abilities.
In addition to our local programs, Up the Ratios is committed to making a global impact. We take donations of new and gently used robotics parts, which we then distribute to students and educational institutions in other countries. These donations help ensure that young learners worldwide have the resources they need to explore and excel in STEM fields. By supporting education in this way, we aim to nurture a global community of future leaders and innovators.
Our live lectures feature guest speakers from various STEM disciplines, including engineers, scientists, and industry professionals who share their knowledge and experiences with our students. These lectures provide valuable insights into potential career paths and inspire students to pursue their passions in STEM.
Up the Ratios relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers to continue our work. Contributions of time, expertise, and financial support are crucial to sustaining our programs and expanding our reach. Whether you're an individual passionate about education, a professional in the STEM field, or a company looking to give back to the community, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference.
We are proud of the positive impact we've had on the lives of countless students, many of whom have gone on to pursue higher education and careers in STEM. By providing these young minds with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed, we are not only changing their futures but also contributing to the advancement of technology and innovation on a broader scale.

(From a Directors Standpoint)
12. Management becomes really easy when you have a clear picture of what it is you are managing.

26. Tom’s Top 10 Management Principals.
1.
Be very clear in your assignments.
2.
Distribute some of the “interesting” work to your subordinates.
3.
Do not take on poorly done work by a subordinate employee. Either replace them or teach them. You have your own job to do.
4.
Don’t take credit – Divert it. Your credit will come by accomplishing agency goals.
5.
Don’t rationalize things that you think are acceptable behavior for you, “The Director,” that are not acceptable for the staff.
6.
Do not spend time on issues that do not support agency goals.
7.
Network with your Management Team.
8.
Confront poor employees.
9.
Recognize and praise good work.
10.
Don’t focus on Mistakes, but on what can be learned from making mistakes.
27. FINAL THOUGHTS
Every person is different. You may have to manage people differently but you should manage your agency in a consistent fashion.. .
Don't ignore problems -- identify and resolve.
Question past practices.
Identify and implement efficiencies.
Thoroughly research all sides of issues.
Make decisions -- don't waver.
