Laying the bales
 Ensure receipt of correct bales as per
supervisor’s instruction from bale godown.
 Lay the bales as per the plan given in bale
pucker.
 Ensure proper identification of the bales &
remove the bale straps properly.
 Use proper material handling tools for
transporting and opening the bales.
 Keep the bale straps properly at specified
place.
Operations of Blow Room Machines
Function :
 It opens compressed bales of fibres.
 Makes cotton tuft a small size as for as possible.
Bale
Plucker:
Function : Blending and Mixing different grades of fibres.
UNIMIX
(B76):
Function:
 Material input
 Material discharge
 Opening rollers
 Feed rollers
 Perforated metal plate
for air discharge
 Light barrier for
monitoring height
 Open exhaust air
transfer
UNISTORE (A79):
Lap Forming:
 To convert the
opened and cleaned
fibers into a sheet of
particular width with
uniform weight/unit
length is called lap. The
Lap so formed is wound
on the lap spindle to
make it suitable for the
next process of carding.
The machines of carding section:
Machines Model Brand
Carding C70 RIETER
Input Output
Cotton Cutting Sliver
Function :
Opens individual fibers
Eliminates impurities & dust
Removes Naps and
Eliminates short fibers
To convert blow room lap/
chute feed sheet into the
loose , roughly parallel,
untwisted strand fibers
called sliver
Carding
Machine:
Different Zones of Carding
Machine:
Chute feed/ Lap :
The feed material for
carding is in the form of
Blow Room lap or by direct
Chute feed system.
In chute feed system the
small tufts of fibers (sheet
form) fed directly from
blow room to a series of
cards.
It arranged in a circuit
through pneumatic pipe.
The machines of drawing section:
Machines Model Brand
Breaker
Drawing

Finisher
Drawing
RSB-D24 Reiter
Function :
 Equalizing
 Parallelizing
 Straightening
 Dust removal
Breaker Drawing:
Input output
5 Slivers 1 Slivers
Function :
 Controls the count variation
within the sliver by using auto
levellers.
 Makes the required hank of
sliver for feed to the speed
frame.
Finisher Drawing:

8 Slivers 1 Sliver
The machines of simplex section:
Machines Model Brand
Simplex ROVEMATIC

Finishing Drawing
Lap
Roving
Function :
 Creeling : By this process the
drawn sliver is introduced to the
draft zone from sliver can
manually
 Drafting: To reduce the weight per
unit length by drafting i.e., passes
of sliver through three or four pair
of roller of different speed.
 Twisting: To make turn within the
fiber of the drafted material to
hold them together.
 Winding: To wound the roving or
to upright bobbin in a particular
manner so that it can be used in
the next machine easily.
 Doffing: Doffing is to replace an
empty bobbin at the place of fully
wound bobbin.
Simplex:
The machines of spinning section:
Machines Model Brand
Ring frame 500
spindle/frame
Savio Polar
Function :
 It satisfies the required count/fineness of yarn by drafting &
twisting.
 It increases the strength of yarn.
Ring frame:
The machines of finishing section:
Machines Brand/model
Autoconer Muratec-qpro(Europe)
Function :
 Yarn is checked for contamination in the UV light room. Even a single
strand of hair will show up.
UV Light Room:
Function :
 Measuring sliver, roving & Yarn quality and
irregular ting test.
Uster Tester 5:
Quality Control/Lab
Utilities :
 Gas: Natural Gas is used to run generators
 Power:4 Units of Caterpillar brand, 1030 KW each. Gas
generators are used as prime power source.
 Water: 2 Units submersible pump has been set to
meet the water requirements.
 Communication: The project site has a good road
communication to highway.
Waste:
This spinning mill produces the following waste, some in significant
quantities :
Directly reusable waste: Waste materials falling into
this group could be collected without difficulty
and could be fed back into the blow room line in
always the same admixing quantities .
 Dirty waste: This waste could not be dealt with so
easily.
 Dust & Fly: Air is used exclusively to collect and
transport them.
Our opinion :
 We think mill visit is very important for us for increasing
practical knowledge. It helps to accomplish the gap
between theoretical & practical knowledge by providing
an elementary idea about industrial environment,
processing machines, tools, equipment’s, production
system & maintenance, administration & management
system.
 In Maksons Spinning Mills Ltd. we saw a lot of facilities
for their worker & stuffs. There was a good environment
for work & the officers were very friendly. But we saw
some child who were working there. That means they
unseeded child labor that seems very inappropriate to us.
 Special thanks to our honorable teacher Md. Burhan Udddin
Banna sir & Sati Irtifa Medam for their continuous
support, guidance & understanding .Also thanks to our team
members Sharif,Shakib,Tasnia,Rakin,Shagor & Shakib Hossain.
 Thanks to our NITER family & Maksons Group for providing us
to opportunity for visiting a reputed company like it.
