On the previous slide, I have arranged each of my products next each other, allowing the viewer to easily compare the editing. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?  A huge part of all of my products is an image, taken from a screen cap in my music video; the graffiti-ed wall used at the beginning of the video. This is a significant piece of my video as it links well with the artistic style of the ‘indie’ genre, and also provides a similar setting within my video. I wanted to apply this vibe to my other texts, by using this same image I could achieve that. In theory, by using this same image on my Digipak and Magazine advert, the viewer would remember the image and instantly connect the three products together. This image has also been used in my ‘potential merchandise designs’, the graffiti has become an icon for the band to be recognised by and associated with. On my CD digipak, I have used a separate image of a piano, rather than using a screencap from my video. This is because I wanted the main image to look more clear, which is important as this is what the consumer sees first. The piano image used is slightly different to the one used in the video, however, the viewer can still connect the products as they are initially of the same piano.  The other images included in both my digipak and magazine advert are all screencaps from my music video with the graffiti image layered on top, and the same association as mentioned before, can be made between the texts. Another aspect of continuity editing is using the same font type and colour for specific pieces of text on my products. The band name is always written in yellow, backed on black and the title/other text is always written in red, backed on white. The yellow text and font style creates a logo for the band name, becoming a memorable image to the viewer. The cover line title, ‘Shuffle’, used in on my magazine advert, is the same image used on the ‘Spine’ of my digipak. My magazine also had a small, but key, image of the ‘front cover’ of my Digipak, just to explicitly show what design they exactly need to look for. Considering these points, the continuity editing used in each piece creates a solid look that the consumer can easily recognise. All of my products use cross media synergy and because of this, when they are combined they create an effective and strong promotional campaign.

The cover line title, ‘Shuffle’, used in on my magazine advert, is the same image used on the ‘Spine’ of my digipak. My magazine also had a small, but key, image of the ‘front cover’ of my Digipak, just to explicitly show what design they exactly need to look for. Considering these points, the continuity editing used in each piece creates a solid look that the consumer can easily recognise. All of my products use cross media synergy and because of this, when they are combined they create an effective and strong promotional campaign.
