2. The combination of my video, digipak and advert all
link together very closely through different themes
seen in each of the 3 products. The main key to the
running themes is the music video and the
stereotypes that it tries to contrast. The main
example of this is how I've kept the stigma of the
fast paced violence through the use of the
roughness and actions seen in a basketball court yet
changed the concept around from having these
actions turn into something that is worldwide and
can link everyone together defeating the labels
which would be sport.
3. The music video holds events through it that
happen such as rough/violent games happening on
the court and hear sound effects such as a gunshot
which the key focus linking the different products
together is allowing any type of audience a clue to
the 3 things being towards the same product. The
theme of the bullet shooting from the starting pistol
links in to the covers of the digipak presenting a gun
which fires the bullet present on the advert which is
speeding in to the clouds to strive for success
represented by the clouds meaning to be your
dreams.
4. This then intertwines into the main ideal of
changing the stereotypical genre of rock into a
sporting video. The fonts and colours throughout all
3 of the products are all consistent and professional
looking. The actors seen throughout the actual
making of my product are very consistent and on
the inside of my digipak cover you can see multiple
images of the different actors which then link in to
the music video.
5. Multiple themes of dreams come into my products,
especially the digipak and the advert that
incorporates the different images of things linking to
dreams which my video is meant to create the
ideology of being the best.
6. Another running sequence going through my
ancillary task would have to be the branded logo’s
and fonts used. Throughout my digipak and advert
you can see a clear connection to the videos main
point; to get people to try in life and make the most
out of what they can. The font and colour used
throughout all of the products listed above are all
similar and consistent and have the relation to the
theme that Fall Out Boy use in a lot of their work
which gives the actual font a style related to rock.
7. This not only contrasts with the calm and mellow
background creating the effort that even though this
cover seems like something that is meant to cover
over the rock aspect and make it more mellow; you
can still tell what is going to be on this CD.
8. The ancillary task that I completed completely
follows the themes running through my music video,
I tried to re-create the Fall Out Boy font as closely as
possible which runs throughout each piece of work
and the actual video. The main images of clouds
which were used as a background are present on
each of the different products and the colours are
mainly greyscale and due to this give a metallic
theme to the different pieces of work which link to
the gun in the digipak.
9. The themes that run through create a brand identity
for my ancillary which would be striving to achieve
your dreams; I decided to create this brand to
remove the tags that are linked to rock such as
being a drug user or the violence that comes with it.
The video was meant to create a feeling for the
audience of achievement and to motivate people
that aren’t motivated in life, the use of different
images such as the clouds within my ancillary tasks
were used to represent dreams and how you should
strive to achieve these.
