Communication switch project described DVS20 is aimed at guiding the flow of data between different manufacturers video SFP modules. The main task of capturing the signal switch is in one of the twenty occupied ports, and the conversion of the optical signal into an electrical signal and Dotični brought into the matrix, where it may either automatically or manually via the user-friendly interface SW distribution of the signal or signals to other available ports. Control of the matrix will be implemented through local communication I2C to PIC microcontroller.

Chinese State-Sponsored Actors Exploit Publicly Known Vulnerabilities. This advisory provides Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) known to be recently leveraged, or scanned-for, by Chinese state-sponsored cyber actors to enable successful hacking operations against a multitude of victim networks.
Problem management foundation - IntroductionRonald Bartels
Problem management is typically defined as an aggregated process that analyses issues within an organisation and provides causation to adverse events and situations.
A key element is how a major incident is handled as this is one of the most crucial processes for an enterprise. A major incident which is one with a significant negative business consequences needs to be handled with a well defined process which is not currently clearly defined in existing methodologies.
This course addresses how an enterprise, with a focus on IT, needs to handle the major incident process which includes those outages and failures that are on the immediate horizon of any enterprise.
It also deals with the aspects of dealing with problems with an organization in a generic fashion including supporting methodologies and processes.
An overview of crisis management

Vital Business Functions
The causes of a major incident are a problem
Other problems are highlighted by the manner in which the major incident is handled

Pilots are trained on simulators because they can not afford to deal with life threatening events in the air by way of experimentation
The diligence applied in the aviation industry is seldom duplicated with Information Technology being a case in point
Simulation is crucial to the successful resolution of a crisis

The simulation exercises should cover
Media communications
Being able to avoid inconsistent communications
Social media interactions

Implementing an ATM backbone is a major
step in the evolution of most networks.
The Madge Collage 740 Backbone ATM
switch eases the migration by delivering:
. High performance, scalable switching
for relief from backbone congestion.
. Easy migration of Token Ring and
Ethernet LANs to a high performance
ATM backbone.
. Fully resilient ATM networks with no
single point of failure and fast recovery.
. ATM-SMON to manage, control and
provide full visibility of the ATM
network.
. Platform support for future ATM Forum
standards such as UNI 4.0, ABR/ER
traffic, PNNI and MPOA.
R E L I E V E N E T W O R K C O N G E S T I O N
Network performance is one of the key
reasons for choosing ATM as a long-term
solution for backbone network congestion.
The backbone ATM switch lies at the
heart of the network and the Collage 740
is fully non-blocking with powerful traffic
prioritization to meet Quality of Service
requests. The use of shared memory for
port-to-port communication avoids head of
line blocking and cut-through switching
produces best in class switch latency.
T U R B O C H A R G E Y O U R E X I S T I N G L A N
ATM is largely used today in high speed
backbones for existing Ethernet and Token
Ring LANs. The key to adding ATM to an
existing network is LAN Emulation
(LANE), an ATM Forum standard that
makes an ATM backbone look like a high
speed extension of the existing network.
The Collage 740 runs ATM Forum LAN
Emulation servers for both Token Ring
and Ethernet LANs, allowing users of both
technologies to share ATM attached
resources at high speed.

most networks and fault tolerance is key to
meeting network availability targets. With

the Collage 740 backbone ATM switch you
can eliminate all single points of failure for
the ultimate in network reliability and
availability:
. Load sharing redundant links with fast
dynamic routing automatically switch
around link or switch failure.
. Fully redundant LANE services deliver
the maximum in LANE resilience with
recovery typically less than 10 seconds.
. Backup power supplies and hot
swappable modules minimize the effect
of any hardware failures and their
replacement.

networks. With up to three times the
processing power of some switches, the
Collage 740 has the power to deliver LANE,
PNNI and MPOA solutions running on the
main processor unit.

ATM switching and networks solve many
of today’s networking problems. They also
need to handle future requirements such as
higher speed interfaces, Layer 3 switching,
flow control and multimedia capabilities on
the LAN.
The Collage 740 has been designed to
provide these future advanced capabilities
as simple software or optional modular
upgrades. Networks can be installed today
with confidence that the technology will
adapt to meet the needs of the future.
3. R E A L N E T W O R K S W I T H L A N E M U L AT I O N
Madge, one of the main architects of the
ATM forum LANE standard, has developed
the most advanced LANE solution for high
performance, mission-critical networks.
LANE makes an ATM network look and
behave like a high speed extension to
existing LANs using standard networking
protocols and operating systems. Madge
SmartLANE on the Collage 740 supports
the following advanced features:
E T H E R N E T A N D T O K E N R I N G
With support for both Ethernet and Token
Ring LAN emulation, the Collage 740
backbone ATM switch can support mixed
technology networks with fast access to
ATM attached servers and other resources.
F U L L L A N E R E S I L I E N C E
Standard networking protocols need LANE
services to use an ATM network. The
Collage 740 can guarantee these services are
always available for truly non-stop ATM
backbone networks. Multiple LAN
Emulation Configuration Servers (LECS)
can be created for resilience and the LAN
Emulation Servers (LES) and
Broadcast/Unknown Servers (BUS) for an
Emulated LAN (ELAN) can be distributed
over several switches to guarantee
availability and fast network recovery.
N O D I S T U R B A N C E L E C S R E C O V E R Y
Resilient LECS operation allows more than
one LECS to be created in the network
Madge
Collage 740
Backbone
ATM Switch
with each one assigned a unique priority
number. The highest priority LECS is
automatically selected as active while the
others remain on standby. Should the active
LECS fail, the others will rapidly nominate
a replacement and the network will
continue without disturbance to the users.
H I G H P E R F O R M A N C E S C A L A B L E E L A N S
The Collage 740 can distribute load-sharing
LANE servers (LES/BUS) over several
switches to create large ELANs hosting
thousands of users. This takes advantage of
the processing power in a multiswitch
network to improve BUS forwarding
performance and cope with the additional
demands of very large ATM networks.
FA S T N E T W O R K R E C O V E R Y
Using dynamic ATM routing and
distributed LANE the Collage 740 will
automatically connect a LANE client to the
nearest active LES/BUS servers for that
ELAN. A failed LANE server is rapidly
removed from the routing tables ensuring a
LANE client will always be able to access
an active LANE server.
C O N T R O L N E T W O R K B R O A D C A S T S
The Collage 740 LAN Emulation
incorporates Active Broadcast Control
(ABC) technology in the BUS. This
eliminates unnecessary broadcast traffic,
prevents broadcast storms and increases the
efficiency and performance of the network
and attached workstations or servers.
Madge distributed LANE
