guidance necessary to learn a language. The
science of Grammar teaches us how a language
is spoken and written correctly and effectively .
So , it can be said that grammar is primarily
concerned with the formation and classification
of words and sentences and their practical
significance in daily.

identical with another word in sound or
pronunciation is known as a Homonym.

Except=leaving out, omit

Advise=to give advise

Affect=to act upon, to pretend

Effect=To bring about , result

Heir= A person who inherits some
property

property.

Allowed=past tense of the verb allow

Aloud=in a loud voice
EX:I talked aloud to her.

Goal=aim
EX : My chief goal in life is to become

Gaol = jail, prison
EX :He was imprisoned in the gaol.

Hole=A hollow place
EX: There is a hole behind door of my
house.
Whole=complete
EX: I have completed my whole work.

Lose=to be deprived of
EX : Don’t lose you money in journey.
Loose=not tight
EX: The necktie of the executive is very
loose.

20. • MEDAL-MEDDLE
Medal-An award in metallic form coin
EX :She received a gold medal in

Meddle-to interfere
EX: Don’t meddle in my personal affairs.

21. • NEW-KNEW
New=fresh , recent
EX:I am very keen at reading new
books.
KNEW=past tense of the verb know
EX:I knew Janki very well.

Pray=Ask earnestly for something
EX : She prayed to god for knowledge.
Prey=A victim
EX: She fell a prey to his greediness .

Team=a group of players

team.
Teem= fill with, abound
EX: This river teems with plenty of fish.
