Colour Connotations
I used the colours dark grey and black in order to help the audience establish
the genre through reading the colour connotations. Grey and dark red are a
powerful combination that connotes themes of darkness, suffering, death,
and bloodshed. This leaves the audience expecting a horror, although not
necessarily a slasher as these typically have blood splatters or extremely red
fonts, whereas I have chosen a darker red to make it more subtle; as are
psychological horrors to slasher horrors. The title remembrance was best
suited to red because in a way it tells the story – The protagonist remembers
his grim past where he killed and murdered people. This subtly gives the
audience an idea of what is going to happen in the film.
