Logical Fallacies Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of logical fallacies can be both challenging and intellectually
stimulating. The difficulty arises from the need to delve into the intricate world of flawed
reasoning and faulty arguments, requiring a solid understanding of formal logic and critical
thinking. Identifying and analyzing various types of logical fallacies demands a keen eye for
detail and the ability to dissect complex arguments.
One challenge lies in navigating through the vast array of logical fallacies, each with its unique
characteristics and manifestations. Selecting relevant examples to illustrate these fallacies
effectively is another hurdle, as it requires careful consideration of real-world scenarios or well-
known instances where logical errors have been made. Moreover, crafting a cohesive and
structured essay that presents a clear thesis while exploring multiple facets of the topic can be
demanding.
Researching and synthesizing information from reputable sources to support your arguments
adds another layer of complexity. The need to provide concrete evidence and articulate a
persuasive stance requires a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. It's crucial to
strike a balance between academic rigor and accessibility, making the essay both informative and
engaging for the reader.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on logical fallacies involves navigating a complex landscape of
flawed reasoning, demanding a strong foundation in critical thinking and formal logic. The
process includes selecting relevant examples, structuring the essay cohesively, and synthesizing
information effectively. While challenging, mastering this topic can significantly enhance one's
ability to analyze arguments critically.

Women And Religion In The African Diaspora
Women and Religion in the African Diaspora is a study of how African American
women and different religious faiths merge together within the black culture.
Different researchers are working to comprehend how African American women have
not lost their mind in the black communities. The researchers would love to
comprehend the idea role that black women hold in her different family structure, and
how their family members respond. While scholars have long grappled with the
categories of women, religion, and diaspora this is the first body of work to bring
them together deliberately and in cross disciplinary way . (Women and Religion in
the African Diaspora). Researchers are interested how the African Americanwomen
work in America and how this is different from women in their native land. What
happen to our ideas about religion when black women surface as central protagonists
in American, Caribbean, or postcolonial African setting? (Women and Religion in the
African Diaspora).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

make the best of their condition to live with a White American power structure. A
few people would suggest that black women have not done anything with
themselves; however, that is extremely ignorant way to label an entire
demographics based on their oppression. Researches would like to imply that black
women are going through a loss of identity crises. For example, Black women have
to embrace other religion and culture. Some black women in the New World have
embrace Islam, while others have adopted African derived religions such as Yoruba
voodoo or Candomble, even while crafting forms of religious engagement whose
relation to orthodox Muslim or indigenous African spiritual practice remains
contested . (Women and Religion in the African

Livingston Ethics Lecture: Put it in Writing: Planning is Not an Option
On March 8th, Mr. G. Lee Griffin spoke to the college of business, faculty, students,
and the community at the annual ethics lecture put on by the College of Business. As
always, the ethics lecture was interesting, but Mr. Griffin s personality of honesty,
humility, and sincerity made this lecture stand out among some of the others.
Married for 54 years, it was obvious Mr. Griffin was a family man, led by his faith,
which he said is what gave him the strength to do everything he accomplished
throughout the years.
He began the lecture by reviewing Louisiana s fiscal mess, discussing the 900 million
dollars worth of revenue needed by July 1st, and ... Show more content on

But all of his setbacks led him to Louisiana where he graduated with his master s
degree from LSU, while meeting the love of his life, whom he married a few years
later. After accepting a lower paying job in Louisiana to satisfy his soon to be father
in law, Mr. Griffin worked his way up the ladder until he eventually became the CEO
of what is now Chase bank.
Through business and life, Mr. Griffin learned that there will always be setbacks
and failures, but there is always a way out. He said over and over again that
honesty was the only way to do life and business, and there was no excuse for any
other behavior. He also discussed two types of plans, strategic and operational plans,
that must be in writing and that a company must have to succeed. While telling us a
story about when his bank almost collapsed, he told us that must never drop our
marketing budget.
Overall, Mr. Griffin was a delightful man who seemed truly good to his core. He
spends his time now doing charitable work, spending time with kids who have
dyslexia at a charter school in Baton Rouge. His main point of the night was that
there will always be a door that will open; we just have to look for
The Ice Cream Parlour
My face begins to quiver as the parents continue to snap pictures. I am losing interest;
however, the smile remains genuine. Winning the Eastern Canadian Ringette
Championships in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island is extraordinary.
Consequently, it comes with responsibilities: pictures, phone calls from back home
and thanking sponsors. Tonight is the last night before we go back to Ontario and we
want to celebrate together, as a team.
Can we be that cheesy team that gets celebratory ice cream, inquires Natalie,

A few of the girls say their money is in their rooms, but Josie would have none of
it. She declares, I will pay. You girls deserve it. We have been training all year for
this moment and if you girls desire ice cream, then I will make sure you get it. It is
my job as a coach to reward you for your victory. ______A parent begins to object,
but Josie turns and says, We all know they deserve it. After we return, I can
supervise the girls card signing so that the parents can do what they want.
______This is why Josie is my favourite coach, she understands us. I regain my
eagerness for the ice cream and commence dreaming of its taste.
The parents oblige. We quickly race off the dock as we cannot contain our
excitement; like children on Christmas morning as they dash towards their coveted
presents under their festively decorated Christmas tree. We continue our fast pace

before striding at a steady pace. I embrace the moment with my teammates. They have
become my second family and together we can conquer anything. Suddenly, a gust of
wind whistles through the streets. It may not be the brightest idea to get ice cream in

Edgar Wright s Film, Baby Driver
Edgar Wright s musical heist film Baby Driver hit theaters in June 2017 and earned
stellar reviews from critics and general audiences alike for the unique way it
synchronized the action unfolding on the screen with its excellent soundtrack
boasting music from multiple decades, here s how they did it.
Written and directed by Wright, Baby Driver casts The Fault in Our Stars actor
Ansel Elgort as Baby , a supremely skilled getaway driver who depends on a steady
stream of music in order to counteract the effects of tinnitus, or a hum in the drum as
the film describes it. He received this tragedy during a horrid car crash that did

Passive Observations And Active Experimentation
To answer this question we must clearly understand the main three aspects which
are Passive observation , active experiment , and whether if there was another way
to produce knowledge. Passive observations and active experimentation are very
associated to each other because experimentation is simply the methodological
observation of things. Both passive observation and active transport might not be
distinct modes of learning. The question asks whether if there is another way of
producing knowledge. Inductive and deductive reasoning can also count as a way
of producing knowledge. Inductive reasoning is reasoning in which the properties
pursue it supply strong evidence for the conclusion. Deductive reasoning is the
logical way of getting to a conclusion. The areas of knowledge that will be
discussed in the essay will be Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The way of
knowing that will be discussed in the essay will be doing vs. thinking and ethics
/ culture. The two knowledge questions that will execute in this essay are To what
extent can we determine the source of our knowledge? and To what extent can we
determine which form of the different forms of knowledge is more important?
Mathematics is an inductive epistemology being either observed or physically
represented. The theory of special relativity is the accepted physical theory regarding
the relationship between space and time that is based on two principles, the principle
of relativity and the principle of the speed
Explain Four Stages Of Teamwork
Introduction :
A team is made of two or more people who have a certain goal and work together
for achievement of that goal, The dynamics of working in a team are extremely
important in a oraganization. In school, in different activities, we learned the basics
of working in a team. In order to work in a team to be more productive and
successful, you need to be able to accept the difference between people opininons and
to create balance between ideas.
Team development stages
In order for a team to function it passes through several stages. Bruce Tuckman has
made a research about stage development of teamwork. He has identified four stages
of group development.
These stages include: forming stage, storming
Analysis Of Aladdin By John Musker And Ron Clements
Recently, over the Winter, I brought my girlfriend to watch the Broadway Musical
Aladdin. It was a very spectacular Broadway musical. I have been to many
Broadway plays like Matilda and Wicked, but Aladdin, in my opinion was my
favorite one. The Broadway musical is based off the 1992 Disney film Aladdin,
which was directed by John Musker and Ron Clements. Since the musical was
produced in 2014, I got to see the original cast, which was pretty astounding. The
music and acting was very well played by the actors during the play. Besides the
singing in the musical, there was an orchestraplaying their instruments underneath the
stage, so all you can see is the conductor telling the orchestra what to do. The subject
of the musical was to entertain the people watching and to tell the story of the
Disney movie in a musical way. The purpose of the musical is to show how Princess
Jasmineis being forced who to marry by her father and she wants to be the person
who decides that. In the play, three characters were added which were not in the
original movie, Aladdins friends. Their names are Babkak, Omar, and Kassim. I
found it to be creative that the play creators added them. They called themselves
Four guys with one Arabian dream. Also in the movie, the villain, Jafar has an evil
sidekick which is a parrot, but in the play, Jafar s sidekick is a human. Another
change was in the movie Aladdin also a sidekick as well. Aladdin s sidekick is a
monkey named Abu and in the play

The Scramble for Africa
For thirty years after Otto von Bismarck called the Berlin Conference in 1884 to
discuss the division of Africa between European powers, said powers both
occupied and colonized Africa. Many different intricate societies who each had
different reactions to the Scramble for Africa composed Africa of the era. While a
large majority of Africans reacted to the European s presence violently, others relied
on religious apple or polite denials to soften the blow of imperialism.
Violent reactions to European imperialism spanned across all parts of Africa;
however, large weapons gaps between the Europeans and Africans were often the
deciding factor of the success of these skirmishes. Ndansi Kumalo, an African veteran
of the Ndebele people of southern Africa s rebellion against the British in 1896,
recalls that he had an old gun [while] they the White men fought [the Africans] with
big guns, machine guns, and rifles (Doc. 4). Similarly, an African chief s description
of a battle in 1877 on the Congo River against British and African mercenaries
demonstrates the unfamiliarity many Africans had with firearms. When describing
the battle, the chief mentions the long sticks [that] spat fire (Doc. 9). The speaker of
document 9 carries the idea that white men are evil based on their actions, telling
them that they have sickness in [their] heads, for this [bloodshed] is not justice
(Document 9). On the other hand, Ethiopia, while still acting violently, reacted to the

Impact Of The Human Rights Act 1998 On Clinical
Impact of the Human Rights Act 1998 on clinical (medical) negligence
Tort law is a considerably old branch of English law, covering a wide range of areas
within such as defamation, nuisance, trespass and, most importantly, negligence. The
latter set out the modern concept of negligence by means of Donoghue v Stevenson
[1932] AC 562. Furthermore, in twentieth century a number of fundamental elements
were established in negligence, elevating its significance above all other areas of tort
law. Most problematic and difficult subgroup of negligence is clinical negligence,
where doctor are held to another standards. Nonetheless, the old foundations were
disturbed by the enforcement of the Human Rights Act 1998, which was a successful
attempt to incorporate the European Convention of Human Rights into English
domestic law. It is applied directly or indirectly into many areas of law, clinical
negligence in torts in particular, adding multiple complications as it has to comply
with the new Act. The influence of the HRA is yet to be fully researched
professionally and amended. In attempt to explore the impact of the HRA 1998 on
clinical negligence this essay examines the reasons for integration of the HRA and
issues it came with and compares various types of negligence, liability of public
authorities and remedies before and after the HRA came into force.
The main difference between the HRA and the ECHR is that the former is the
domestic legislation and the latter is an international
Mark Twain Research Paper
Samuel L. Clemens, better known as Mark Twain, was born in Florida, Missouri
on November 30, 1835. Twain s father died when he was only eleven, so he had to
drop out of school at grade five and work. He became a typesetter for his brother s
newspaper, where he helped to write some of the articles. . When he was eighteen
he left Hannibal, the town he grew up in, and worked as a printer in big cities such
as Philadelphia and Cincinnati. In these cities he was able to educate himself on
how to better read and write using public libraries. When Twain got older he got his
piloting license and became a riverboat pilot. When the civil war began, he headed
west and became a miner. His experiences there lead to the writing of many of his

Organizational Concepts Of Organizational Vocabulary
Organizational Change Vocabulary Increasing my organizational vocabulary is
particularly useful for me given that my organization is in the process of a long term
transition due to environmental changes in moving from a print based business to a
digital based business. The company has also embarked on transformational change
starting in 2013 to reduce costs, and increase market share in emerging markets
where the education aged demographics will be growing in the future. The first
change to radically restructure the company from a series of holding companies to
one operating company with centralization of back office systems with shared
products that are to be localized regionally was implemented by the consulting
company Deliotte. The company is learning what does and does not work, and is not
revising the organization in response to lessons learned with the Hay Consulting
Group. I reviewed the main change managementmodels to acquaint myself with the
processes both consulting groups have employed, and chose key terms that I have
heard during my experience, or have been introduced to me as part of the course
readings. Unfreezing, moving, refreezing: Lewin s theory involves leadership
unfreezing the organizational environment by causing discomfort for the individuals
within the organization to gain acknowledgement and support for the need for change
(Spector, 2013; Zenab Kazmi Naarananoja, 2013). Once individuals in the
organization become aware of the need for
Alexander Really Great Dbq
Alexander gained lots of respect from many people. Although he did become a
king at the age of 20, he learned to respect other cultures and have leadership over
his army (BGE). Alexander was born in 356 BCE in a kingdom along the edge of
northern Greece called Macedonia. His father King Philip and mother Olympia,
wanted alexander prepared for his kingship. They resolved this by hiring a
philosopher named Aristotle to teach him many academic subjects. Was Alexander
great or not great? Alexander was magnificent because he had amazing leadership
skills, he made many remarkable achievements, and he had creativity. By these
measures Alexander was successful because he took leadership of his troops, he
also had remarkable achievements because ruled over an empire at the age of 20,
and creativity that kept porous puzzled while making noises to distract Porus s
troop. One reason why Alexander was vast is because he was a great leader to his
people including his troops. One reason that he had god leadership skills was
shown in doc d The Legend of the helmet. Alexander and his troops were tormented
by thirst, but continued to keep marching and at the head of his troops (Doc D). The

Roman Empire s being 2,200,000 sq. miles (Doc E). Alexander had 70 cities
founded by himself and 11 of them were named Alexandria (Doc A, E). In the BGE
we know that he conquered his empire at the age of 20. Also, in document F they
talk about Alexander being brave and dauntless and generous to his followers (Doc

stomps up the creaky wooden stairs, careful to skip the missing step. Diana calls
exasperatedly, In here, Scarlet. Slamming the door open, Diana s eleven year old
daughter storms across the small, cozy room, coming to a stop at her mother s
queen sized bed. A tear sheds from Scarlet s hazel eyes, her auburn hair falling
across her fair face. Dread seethes through Diana s veins, fear rising from the pit of
her almost anorexic stomach. Scarlet, what is it? Talk to me, she pleads. The child
s mouth twists into a grimace as she mumbles, Josh told me the reason you don t
spend time with me anymore is because because you don t love me. Diana s heart
constricts. Seventeen year old Josh, Scarlet s first crush, their next door neighbor,
told Scarlet her mother had forgotten about her, that she means nothing to Diana?
Scowling, Diana pats the space next to her on the warm bed, ignoring the pain; she
s too sick to feel angry now. All she feels is sorrow... and dread for what she needs to

The Comic Strip And Its Subsequent Parts Essay
How to make a superhero comic strip and its subsequent parts
Description: Writing an initial superhero comic strip and following it up with sequels
is a tedious and time consuming task. However, it is easy with the new online tools,
which are available.
The best way to make a superhero comic strip is to use pre set templates available
on the internet. You can use various templates provided by various sites. The easiest
are the ones provided by Marvel Comics official website and other such websites.
They are easy to use and can be created according to your own preferences, using
the options available. Read the following article for an overview of the different
tools and options available on the sites, and a brief idea about how to use them to
make a comic strip, an entire book or a complete series.
Before creating a comic strip
Before you make a comic strip, keep in mind that you have to have a clear idea of
the storyline how it starts, proceeds, rises in action, reaches a climax, falls in action
and ends. The theory that applies to writing a novel applies here too! Comic strips
are nowadays included in the modern genre of Graphic Novels, and thus have the
same basic format. Also keep in mind that you need to have the character of the
superhero ready. You can develop it as the story proceeds, but the reader should
have a basic idea about whom and how he is, from the start. This implies that you,
the creator, have a complete idea at least a rough one about what you
California Earthquake Analysis
On October six a small earthquake shook part of southern California. It started along
the Newport Inglewood Fault near Long Beach, California. The quake itself was
weak and not cause any damage to the local. However the significant part about this
earthquake is that it originated from ten kilometers underground, or about 6.2 miles.
Which was interesting because seismologists report on October seventh. That Rocks
at that depth should be too hot and malleable to snag and break. Which is a key
cause of earthquakes. This implies that there is some unknown process at the root of
the fault. That caused this quack to happen says study coauthor Asaf Inbal, a

whether the Duke will marry the Count s daughter.
My Last Duchess is about a duke who wants to marry the Count s daughter. The

Porphyria s anonymous lover is very annoyed that Porphyria does not declare her
love for him and leave her partner for him, but as the stormy night grew Porphyria
started to admit her love for him.
Porphyria s lover said Happy and proud, at last I knew Porphyria worshipped me, at
this moment she is mine no one can stop that now
Porphyria s lover is debating what to do to keep this moment special.
Porphyria s lover now knows what to do he says Perfectly pure and good, I found a
thing to do, and all her hair in one long yellow string wound three times her little
throat around, and strangled her he is saying that he killed her. Porphyria s lover
ends the poem by saying And yet God has not said a word he thinks he s done no

Porphyria s lover thinks he has done no wrong because God has said nothing and he
wanted to sabre the moment, but he has just strangled his true love. He is obviously a

What Is The Difference Between Slashers And

Slasher Horror Movies Vs Psychological Horror Movies Horror movies are the
equivalent of a roller coaster ride, but with more bang for the buck. (Kelleher.)
Horror movies scare you and give you thrills; thus, it can be split into categories
because horror movies can be completely each other. Slasher and psychological are
sub genres in horror movies. Both of the genre s goals are to scare you, but they do
it in different ways. To understand the differences, you need a general
understanding of the sub genres. Slasher movies tend to be following around a
masked murderer and a group of people. For instance, Every slasher has a killer. He
s usually male, and his identity is often concealed either by a mask or by creative
lighting and camerawork. (Harris.) Slasher is usually always with the killing of
each person one at a time. On the other side, psychological horror movies tend to
trigger things in your brain to make you scared. For instance, Psychological horror
is a sub genre that focuses on the darker side of the human psyche that s often
repressed. It also explores emotional and psychological vulnerabilities over primal
survival fears, (Lofberg.) Instead of making people jump, psychological horror
movies can make you feel exposed and even start second guessing things. Examples
of slasher movies are Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Examples of psychological horror are The Shining, Psycho, and The Sixth Sense. To
conclude, slasher and
Of Mice And Men By Robert Burns
The title of this book is actually comes from a poem To a Mouse , which is written
in Scots dialect, by the 18th century Scottish poet Robert Burns. It is about a
mouse which carefully builds a winter nest in a wheat field, but it was destroyed
by a ploughman. The mouse had dreamed of a safe and warm winter but now it
have to face the harsh reality of cold, loneliness and possible death. This is relevant
to the novel Of Mice and Men in two ways. First, the characters in the story are
seem to be at the mercy of fate, almost as powerless as mice. For example, Lennie
can be likened to the mouse in the poem by his harmless, innocent, gentle, and
childlike characteristics since he has just as weak as a mouse. Second, it is
actually related to one of the major themes in the novel which is the shattered
dreams. Lennie and George are migrant farm workers who dream of having their
own home and land, but this dream is wrecked, just like the mouse s nest in the
poem. The poem also demonstrates that future is unpredictable, which is related to
the story that people cannot control their life and fate is uncertain. Moreover, the
Men in the title could refer to the common men who work on the ranch such as
Slim, Candy, George and Lennie. They are laborers who have simple desires, which
is they want to obtain their own land, so that they may work for themselves and
obtain independence. The Mice in the title are one of the examples of symbolism, it

How Does Proton Pump Acid Affects The Body
Nutrition and lifestyle can change the body s response to drugs; conversely, a nutrient
drug interaction also affects the nutritional content in the body. Drugs may also
change food absorption and metabolism in the body. Some drugs can increase GI

Some drugs are better tolerated if taken with food.1
Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are one of the most important drugs in order to treat
gastrointestinal diseases. Proton pump inhibitors are a group of drugs whose main
action is reduction of stomach acid production. 2

This research paper will show that biblical referred to as glossolalia; the ability to

glossolalia, which will be examined later, the modern debate centers around the need

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an act whereby the individual is placed in the body
of Christ. John the Baptist, after witnessing the descent of the Holy Spirit as a dove
at the baptism of Jesus, recorded Most Pentecostal, and Charismatic believe that
tongues are the initial sign of the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
The book of Acts is its foundation stone. If the book of Acts were excluded from the
discussion, there would be no other source of information since the only other
passage in the New Testament that discusses tongues at any length is 1 Corinthians
12 14 which clearly teaches all do not speak in tongues.
Also, Paul examines tongues as one of many differing spiritual gifts that are given
freely by the Spirit after one has been baptized by the Spirit into the body of Christ (1
Cor. 12:13).
In Charismatic Theology, Stronstad states, And tongues is the sign that all who
belong to this charismatic community have been empowered by the Spirit for
charismatic ministry.
I choose the charismatic gifts debate because coming from a Pentecostal/Charismatic
background growing up in church, I know a little about the gift. With growing up in a
Charismatic church, I saw the gifts in action.
There is a lot of debate on whether the gift is relevant for today or have they ceased
from the church. One side says that the gifts are in the past and is not relevant for
the day that we live in and another side says that the gifts are still
Theme Of Beauty In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
One thing about the monster Victor Frankenstein created is certain: It is hideous.
So hideous even that though he has good intentions he gets shunned by society.
Due to his ugliness, he has trouble finding a mate and even goes on a murderous
rampage in the end which is followed by his suicide. Is the monster driven to this
terrible fate by society or is it someone or even something else? In the following, this
paper will look at the concept of beauty in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, and how it
influences the monster as well as society in general. Because of the rejection he
experiences, it can be stated that society is responsible for the monster s misfortune.
Humans often associate beauty with good qualities. A study by Dion, Berscheid and
Walster from 1972 found that what is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
in Grammer et al. 388). There also has been a link between attractiveness and grades,
where attractive students are favored. Grammer also states, that unattractive people
receive more or even a harsher punishment for their misdeeds (388). So maybe
Bloom was right when he said, a beautiful monster , or even a passable one, would
not have been a monster (Bloom 6). In Frankenstein beauty is often linked to good
qualities. Elizabeth is described as a beautiful woman and her beauty is linked to
her personality in chapter one: Her person was the image of her mind; her hazel
eyes [...] possessed an attractive softness (Shelley 20). In chapter 5, Justine is
described as extremely pretty as well as clever and gentle, which might also be a
link between the described qualities of beauty and her character (42). In chapter 8,
the monster finds a portrait of a woman on the dead body of William. He sees her
beauty and is astonished by it, but his admiration quickly
The Wonder Wom The Transformation Of The Wonder
Woman
Published by All Star Comics on October 1941, the day Marston s creation of the
first female superhero revolutionized the world. From a love triangle surged the
greatest representation of a powerful and independent woman, which shaped
American society. Wonder Woman a fictional character that became an icon of
pop culture and women in general. American politics from the years 1890s 1980s
faced social reforms and new ideals, a dominant force in Lepore s book prove that
more than a decade of strife , influenced heavily the shaping of Wonder Woman.
Diana of Themyscira, daughter of queen Hippolyta and Zeus would bring hope,
beyond the fictional world to the land of the free and home of the brave. Politics in
the United States is one of those topics that can have several meanings depending
on who is defining it, thus because many things can influence the person who is
defining it. In this case, it is to be avoided at all costs definitions or words that are
hard enough to pronounce, that is for the analysts, and political science professors,
as it has been scientifically proven that learning is more captivating when it is tied
with something or someone we know or have seen before. First we are going to start
off, by mentioning some of the outstanding political sections from that time period,
before we get to the influence it had on the creation of Wonder Woman. Woodrow
Wilson had been elected as president in 1912, he promised a government based on,
democratic principle.
Ethical Issues in the Film Erin Brockovich
The movie Erin Brockovich is based on actual events involving a corporate
business called Pacific Gas Electric who knowingly endangering the health of
residents and the water supply in the town of Hinkley. Erin is the mother of three
children who is out of work. In the midst of her job search she got into an auto
accident and was injured. Erin has an ethical and moral responsibility to feed her
children so she forces her lawyer Ed Masry to give her a secretarial job after he
failed to get her a settlement from the auto accident. Erin has difficulty fitting in at
the firm, the other female co workers do not approve of her attire or her cleavage!
The women in the office do not include Erin or help her out when she asks for
assistance. Erin stumbles across a case file about real estate which confuses her
because it contained medical records. She got curious about the case and asked
permission from her boss to work on it. This is the first ethical issue that comes up
because she is not a lawyer and should not investigate the case without the proper
legal experience.
During Erin s discovery of the facts of the case we begin to see the breakdown of
the ethical values of PG E. The dramatization focuses on the deception that PG E has
cast over the inhabitants of Hinkley, California. For years, the company has been
polluting the environment with a known deadly toxin, Chromium six. The toxin
seeped into natural underground water reservoirs then into the unsuspecting town
Observation In The Sorrow Of War By Bao Ninh
In the novel, The Sorrow of War by Bao Ninh, many conclusions can be drawn from
characters through observation. One can learn certain characteristics about a person,
like their interests, goals, and skills, by simply observing. Being an observant
individual, one is in touch with their surroundings and behavioral patterns of those
around them. Learning about someone through observationis .
On March 5, 2016, I observed a girl I do not know personally. By listening closely, I
found out her name was Colleen. During my observation of Colleen, I made
various assumptions about her. Since we were both taking the SAT that morning, I
assumed she must have a goal of furthering her education after high school.
Looking at the way she dressed, I sensed she was very comfortable. Her hair was
loosely braided to the side and sealed with a hair tie. She must attend or have ... Show

As soon as the test started, she tensed up. Her pencils kept falling of her desks and
she kept tapping her foot as a coping mechanism to channel her nervous energy. She
and I never made eye contact, but her eyes wandered across the room occasionally.
She stared at the board, which showcased the time we had started each test at and
what time we would finish at. I could tell that taking a test like SAT was not her
forte. When we took our first break, I began to pay more attention to her keys and
cellphone. She had a bible verse keychain, so I made the assumption that she was a
faith based person. Her cellphone case also had a bible verse which said Philippians
4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. During the math portion
of the test, she worked out majority of the questions. I gave up on the math part
when the test administrator said we only had five minutes, but Colleen kept going.
She worked the calculator in a suave manner. Math is one of her strongest subjects
and she operates well under
Media, History, And The Data Of Culture By Lisa Gitelman
Lisa Gitelman suggests in her book Always Already New: Media, History, and the
Data of Culture that by studying media s history one can understand their meaning
and relevance to society at large. Media s past becomes especially important in a time
where individual media are increasingly mixed together without clear boundaries.
Although historical media objects continue to be significant, they often feel outdated
and therefore get neglected. It further adds to the idea that the process of modernism
already accomplished.
One the one hand media themselves are an object of the past by for example
investigating the historical development of a technological object. One the other
hand, media can also be used as a tool to experience history. By consuming movies or
reading books one can learn about history through the media.
By comparing media subjects to scientific instruments it become apparent that ...

It is not entirely clear whether the audience is rather passive by simply consuming the
meaning produced by the media industry or co creates it. Nonetheless, one should not
underestimate the influence of the media.
New media such as the data of culture also rise through a change of the public. They
are not simply imposed on the public but rather coevolve. This means a change in
society is necessary to find acceptance for new technologies in a society. As the
example of recorded sound proves, it both constructed and diminished a new public
sphere.
The public sphere is further challenged through the development of digitalization
which offers the possibilities to connect with people globally. Through media cultures
become assimilated to Western standards and new global markets for commodities
are created. Therefore media influence the differences of an international economic
structure. Of course new inventions or further developments of a product defy

Decision-Making Process Analysis
Decision making is from a variety of elements, skill set, mind set and past
experiences to highlight a few. However, as you stated Katherine it basically and
figuratively comes down to accountability and responsibility. As you stated If I made
a wrong deception I earned and grew and new better next time (Carvajal, 2015).
This reminds me of the news that occurred about a week ago, concerning the 22 year
old college student who squandered $90,000.00 college fund setup by her
grandparents for her tuition for this year. Then placing the blame on her parents for
not teaching her financial responsibility.

While I may not go to such great lengths as outlined by the text, or as highlighted in
models and theories, under some circumstances they could be applied. Personally, I
don t expect anything to be handed to me, if I observe a deficiency then I seek ways
to correct that need.
Depending on your undergraduate studies there may be no requirement for a
managerial decision class, if not no one is required to provide it. Real time and
unfortunately being honest, competencies can be built by proficiency skills or
skillset and learning on the job. Decision making skills can also be broken down into:
basic, intermediate, advanced or expert. However, the bottom line is accountability
and responsibility for whatever decision you undertake.
I am quite confident when Abraham Lincoln was deciding on the Emancipation
Proclamation he had no formal training on the decision making process. From what I
read John D. Rockefeller was an average student, but parlayed certain skills into an

Introduction
Conflicts in the workplace and interpersonal relationship are inevitable.
Organizational conflict is common in the workplace because people always have
divergent views on various issues, interests, ideologies, goals, and aspirations
(Deutsch, 1990). Conflict exists in all kinds of environments because people compete
for power, jobs, resources, security and recognition. People who seek power therefore,
struggle with others for position or status within the group (Henry, 2009).
As Landau, stated, Conflict exists in all human relationships: it always has and
probably will (Landau 2001). The traditional view of conflict as something harmful
has changed to a common perceptions where conflict is seen as a way of
organizational life. Conflicts beyond usual tensions may arise when there is
misunderstanding, complications or people with different cultural orientations are
interacting. These misunderstandings occurs as result of differing needs, conflict
management styles, assumptions and expectations and stress related issues within the
workplace environment. (Leung Tjosvold, 1998; Ting Toomey, 1988). In many cases,
an effective conflict resolution can lead to personal and organizational growth.
Purpose of Study
The goal of this research paper is to identify the role of conflicts in a workplace
environment, how we can handle conflicts and adopting the best

Aged Coffee Essay
What is Aged coffee?
Recently, there has been an increase in aging of coffee. According to the saying,
Aged wine looks great, Aged whiskey taste good so is aged coffee. The saying is
not all about aged coffee or aged whiskey. Also, aged coffee is not that exceptional,
and it does not deserve the credit. Here is the history, hype, and truth about aged
coffee.
The History
Coffee was introduced to Europe in the mid 1500 s, it was referred to as aged
coffee. During that period, Mocha which is now Yemen was the primary supplier of
coffee in Europe. Importing coffee from Yemen to Europe takes a long journey
through the sea around the southern region of Africa. This long voyage is still held
when coffee production spread through India and Indonesia.
As a result of these three great coffee origins and time, the saline sea air transformed
the coffee drastically. This makes the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although it is true for some aged coffees, others are merely outdated, old coffees that
are rebranded as a specialty product.
Also, most people believed that coffee age well, but this is highly controversial.
Some people even claim that the older a coffee gets, the better it tastes good, this
statement is also controversial.
The Belief behind Aged Coffee
It is only some particular types of coffee that age well, and they need to be aged
under some specified conditions or else they will lose their oils and affect the coffee
taste and flavor. This can make the coffee taste sour or bitter.
According to some specialists, they claimed that the coffee does not get better with
the long aging process because the coffee loses more flavor as it ages.
Which Coffee Type Age Properly?
In a nutshell, only a few types of unroasted coffee beans age suitably. However, the
best beans for aging must have a low acid content, though this might not be the

However, focusing primarily on the impact the Disney Company, the effects could
be more drastic. One scenario is the parties do not reach an agreement in regard to
the streaming fees Disney wants to charge Netflix and the companies discontinue
business. Netflix will no longer provide Disney movies for rent, this could lead to a
decrease in potential sales and free advertising for Disney. It could be said that
Netflix users will select from a the remainder of the selection of movies available,
however, according to the article, the likelihood is that Netflix will negotiate with
The Disney Company so there are no limitations put on the amount of streaming
video Netflix can offer . This will actually increase the current acquisition costs for
Netflix at an estimated incremental one percent acquisition cost. There will be a
positive impact on sales for Disney due to the additional charges able to be acquired
through attaching fees to the online streaming content. As a result of restructuring
and creating multiple departments within Disney, the organization s financial
planning is efficient. The organization has identified financial goals, prioritized those
goals, and developed a financial plan by using the legacy information to determine the
organization s financial forecast. The organization focuses on key relationships that

Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship
Application
From the beginning of my junior year, I came across the Naval Reserve Officer
Training Corps website and I decided to apply for the scholarship program. I
analyzed every single information on the internet and took every part of the
application process seriously, after all, this commitment affects a considerable
amount of my future. I continued to research more about the Navy and prepared for
the physical assessment test by running a few miles every day and beating my
previous push up and sit up records. A few months later, after I had enough courage
and hope, I excitedly sat down with my whole familyand friends to discuss my plan.
As I explained through the process, I cannot forget the anxious faces across the table;

Satanism And Satanism
Goat Heads and Pentagrams When you think of Satanism, you might think of human
sacrifices, or perhaps even chanting wildly around a fire surrounded by enormous
herds of people in an attempt to please Lucifer himself. Guess what, they don t. But
on a serious note, have you ever thought it might not be what you think it is? Maybe
they are not as evil as society makes them out to be. I will be focusing most on the
history and important figures in the Satanic church, the symbols of satanismand their
meanings, and, finally, some of the practices and beliefs of satanists. Possibly
knowing more about this religion will compel you to think a little different about
its leaders and followers. The most notable Satanist would have to be the creator of
the whole thing, right? The first High Priest of the Satanic church was Anton
Szandor LaVey. He was born in 1930 and passed away at the age of 67 in 1997.
Because he was most known for his creation of the Satanic church and the Satanic
bible, he was also known by the name The Black Pope . He authored many other
books as well. LaVey loved Gothic and horror literature, but occult literature he
dismissed as frauds and as white magic . Since his world was filled with books,
Anton LaVey naturally befriended authors such as Clark Smith, Robert Johnson,
and George Hass. He was known by friends and family to have a very cynical view
on the world. If only here today to see what it has become. Anton LaVey was also a

Quietness In To Kill A Mockingbird
Quietness is not to be mistaken as shyness. In fact the exact definition of quiet is to
make no noise or sound, especially no disturbing sound (Dictionary.com). While
shyness is defined as, being reserved or having or showing nervousness, timidity in
the company of other people (Encyclopedia.com). You cannot group the shy within
the quiet. Nicholas Christenfeld, a psychologyprofessor at the University of
California, San Diego stated, There are people who wish to talk, but are too timid
to do so as well, there are those who, simply choose not to say much (Weeks). The
quiet hold a presence of unknown power, they can quiet a whole room with one sound
and make you admit your deep secrets just fill one second of silence.

It seems that the most remembered of our leaders are those who stood with the
smallest of personalities, the ones who had few words to say. But the words they
did speak changed our worldviews forever. Take Rosa Parks, an American Civil
Rights Activist, she did not use anything but her words to speak for her. When
refused to give up her bus seat for a white passenger she unknowingly started an
uprise towards the bus system of Montgomery, Alabama. As Professor Mia Bay of
Rutgers University aptly summarized, Rosa Parks story tells us you don t have to
always have been a leader to do something important and to make an impact, and
you don t have to be a big a personality or a loud person to take a stand. You can be a
quiet person of principles, and these quiet people who work behind the scenes are
important to social change. (Van Luling). There are many more examples set
throughout history of people who gained power from their quiet
The Second Amendment
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve
neither liberty nor safety. This quote from Benjamin Franklin illustrates how an
emphasis on safety can drastically reduce the freedoms enjoyed by citizens of the
United States, especially the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution which
states that ...the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
However, with active shooter situations such as Columbine; the Tucson, Arizona
shootings, which nearly killed former Representative Gabrielle Giffords; and recent
situations at Newtown, Connecticut; Los Angeles International Airport; and Westfield

12). If somebody were to invade a home, that owner deserves to have the right to
pull a gun to defend him or herself. The police can t protect everyone, instantly, 24
hours a day, seven days a week. And the fact that victims might be able to defend
themselves can also deter criminals (Lott par. 14). Almost every parent at some
point tells their child, Don t put your fingers in the electrical outlet, or you ll get
shocked. Naturally, the child will put his or her fingers in the outlet just to see
what will happen. After getting shocked, the child will cry. The parent will then
say, I told you not to do that. This is part of human nature. Everybody thinks that
they know best and nobody else can tell them what to do. This situation would also
apply to gun control, as more gun control laws would cause criminals to push the
envelope even more and commit more crimes involving guns. When the state of
Illinois passed Concealed Carry legislation this last summer, many who believe in
the right to bear arms as defined in the Constitution hailed this as a victory and
could not wait to obtain the right to carry concealed weapons. Tom Gibbons, the
State s Attorney for Madison County, gave citizens of the county the right to carry
before the official signature of Governor Pat Quinn in a press release dated June 6,
2013. In the press release, Gibbons said that to deny this right to law abiding

  • 3. Hello World Alexis Taylor Livingston Ethics Lecture: Put it in Writing: Planning is Not an Option On March 8th, Mr. G. Lee Griffin spoke to the college of business, faculty, students, and the community at the annual ethics lecture put on by the College of Business. As always, the ethics lecture was interesting, but Mr. Griffin s personality of honesty, humility, and sincerity made this lecture stand out among some of the others. Married for 54 years, it was obvious Mr. Griffin was a family man, led by his faith, which he said is what gave him the strength to do everything he accomplished throughout the years. He began the lecture by reviewing Louisiana s fiscal mess, discussing the 900 million dollars worth of revenue needed by July 1st, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But all of his setbacks led him to Louisiana where he graduated with his master s degree from LSU, while meeting the love of his life, whom he married a few years later. After accepting a lower paying job in Louisiana to satisfy his soon to be father in law, Mr. Griffin worked his way up the ladder until he eventually became the CEO of what is now Chase bank. Through business and life, Mr. Griffin learned that there will always be setbacks and failures, but there is always a way out. He said over and over again that honesty was the only way to do life and business, and there was no excuse for any other behavior. He also discussed two types of plans, strategic and operational plans, that must be in writing and that a company must have to succeed. While telling us a story about when his bank almost collapsed, he told us that must never drop our marketing budget. Overall, Mr. Griffin was a delightful man who seemed truly good to his core. He spends his time now doing charitable work, spending time with kids who have dyslexia at a charter school in Baton Rouge. His main point of the night was that there will always be a door that will open; we just have to look for

Winning the Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island is extraordinary. Consequently, it comes with responsibilities: pictures, phone calls from back home and thanking sponsors. A few of the girls say their money is in their rooms, but Josie would have none of it. She declares, I will pay. You girls deserve it. We have been training all year for this moment and if you girls desire ice cream, then I will make sure you get it. It is my job as a coach to reward you for your victory. ______A parent begins to object, but Josie turns and says, We all know they deserve it. After we return, I can supervise the girls card signing so that the parents can do what they want. ______This is why Josie is my favourite coach, she understands us. I regain my eagerness for the ice cream and commence dreaming of its taste. The parents oblige. We quickly race off the dock as we cannot contain our excitement; like children on Christmas morning as they dash towards their coveted presents under their festively decorated Christmas tree. We continue our fast pace past the hotel, until realizing we left Josie behind. We pause for her to catch up before striding at a steady pace. I embrace the moment with my teammates. They have become my second family and together we can conquer anything. Suddenly, a gust of wind whistles through the streets. It may not be the brightest idea to get ice cream in the cold. • 6. Passive Observations And Active Experimentation To answer this question we must clearly understand the main three aspects which are Passive observation , active experiment , and whether if there was another way to produce knowledge. Passive observations and active experimentation are very associated to each other because experimentation is simply the methodological observation of things. Both passive observation and active transport might not be distinct modes of learning. The question asks whether if there is another way of producing knowledge. Inductive and deductive reasoning can also count as a way of producing knowledge. Inductive reasoning is reasoning in which the properties pursue it supply strong evidence for the conclusion. Deductive reasoning is the logical way of getting to a conclusion. The areas of knowledge that will be discussed in the essay will be Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The way of knowing that will be discussed in the essay will be doing vs. thinking and ethics / culture. The two knowledge questions that will execute in this essay are To what extent can we determine the source of our knowledge? and To what extent can we determine which form of the different forms of knowledge is more important? • 8. Analysis Of Aladdin By John Musker And Ron Clements Recently, over the Winter, I brought my girlfriend to watch the Broadway Musical Aladdin. It was a very spectacular Broadway musical. I have been to many Broadway plays like Matilda and Wicked, but Aladdin, in my opinion was my favorite one. The Broadway musical is based off the 1992 Disney film Aladdin, which was directed by John Musker and Ron Clements. Since the musical was produced in 2014, I got to see the original cast, which was pretty astounding. The music and acting was very well played by the actors during the play. Besides the singing in the musical, there was an orchestraplaying their instruments underneath the stage, so all you can see is the conductor telling the orchestra what to do. The subject of the musical was to entertain the people watching and to tell the story of the Disney movie in a musical way. The purpose of the musical is to show how Princess Jasmineis being forced who to marry by her father and she wants to be the person who decides that. In the play, three characters were added which were not in the original movie, Aladdins friends. Their names are Babkak, Omar, and Kassim. I found it to be creative that the play creators added them. They called themselves Four guys with one Arabian dream. Also in the movie, the villain, Jafar has an evil sidekick which is a parrot, but in the play, Jafar s sidekick is a human. Another change was in the movie Aladdin also a sidekick as well. Aladdin s sidekick is a monkey named Abu and in the play

  • 10. The Scramble for Africa For thirty years after Otto von Bismarck called the Berlin Conference in 1884 to discuss the division of Africa between European powers, said powers both occupied and colonized Africa. Many different intricate societies who each had different reactions to the Scramble for Africa composed Africa of the era. While a large majority of Africans reacted to the European s presence violently, others relied on religious apple or polite denials to soften the blow of imperialism. Violent reactions to European imperialism spanned across all parts of Africa; however, large weapons gaps between the Europeans and Africans were often the deciding factor of the success of these skirmishes. Ndansi Kumalo, an African veteran of the Ndebele people of southern Africa s rebellion against the British in 1896, recalls that he had an old gun [while] they the White men fought [the Africans] with big guns, machine guns, and rifles (Doc. 4). Similarly, an African chief s description of a battle in 1877 on the Congo River against British and African mercenaries demonstrates the unfamiliarity many Africans had with firearms. When describing the battle, the chief mentions the long sticks [that] spat fire (Doc. 9). The speaker of document 9 carries the idea that white men are evil based on their actions, telling them that they have sickness in [their] heads, for this [bloodshed] is not justice (Document 9). On the other hand, Ethiopia, while still acting violently, reacted to the forceful

Impact Of The Human Rights Act 1998 On Clinical Impact of the Human Rights Act 1998 on clinical (medical) negligence Tort law is a considerably old branch of English law, covering a wide range of areas within such as defamation, nuisance, trespass and, most importantly, negligence. The latter set out the modern concept of negligence by means of Donoghue v Stevenson [1932] AC 562. Furthermore, in twentieth century a number of fundamental elements were established in negligence, elevating its significance above all other areas of tort law. Most problematic and difficult subgroup of negligence is clinical negligence, where doctor are held to another standards. Nonetheless, the old foundations were disturbed by the enforcement of the Human Rights Act 1998, which was a successful attempt to incorporate the European Convention of Human Rights into English domestic law. It is applied directly or indirectly into many areas of law, clinical negligence in torts in particular, adding multiple complications as it has to comply with the new Act. The influence of the HRA is yet to be fully researched professionally and amended. In attempt to explore the impact of the HRA 1998 on clinical negligence this essay examines the reasons for integration of the HRA and issues it came with and compares various types of negligence, liability of public authorities and remedies before and after the HRA came into force. Organizational Concepts Of Organizational Vocabulary Organizational Change Vocabulary Increasing my organizational vocabulary is particularly useful for me given that my organization is in the process of a long term transition due to environmental changes in moving from a print based business to a digital based business. The company has also embarked on transformational change starting in 2013 to reduce costs, and increase market share in emerging markets where the education aged demographics will be growing in the future. The first change to radically restructure the company from a series of holding companies to one operating company with centralization of back office systems with shared products that are to be localized regionally was implemented by the consulting company Deliotte. The company is learning what does and does not work, and is not revising the organization in response to lessons learned with the Hay Consulting Group. I reviewed the main change managementmodels to acquaint myself with the processes both consulting groups have employed, and chose key terms that I have heard during my experience, or have been introduced to me as part of the course readings. Unfreezing, moving, refreezing: Lewin s theory involves leadership unfreezing the organizational environment by causing discomfort for the individuals within the organization to gain acknowledgement and support for the need for change (Spector, 2013; Zenab Kazmi Naarananoja, 2013). Once individuals in the organization become aware of the need for

Although he did become a king at the age of 20, he learned to respect other cultures and have leadership over his army (BGE). Alexander was born in 356 BCE in a kingdom along the edge of northern Greece called Macedonia. His father King Philip and mother Olympia, wanted alexander prepared for his kingship. They resolved this by hiring a philosopher named Aristotle to teach him many academic subjects. Was Alexander great or not great? The Mice in the title are one of the examples of symbolism, it appear in the story for multiple

When refused to give up her bus seat for a white passenger she unknowingly started an uprise towards the bus system of Montgomery, Alabama. As Professor Mia Bay of Rutgers University aptly summarized, Rosa Parks story tells us you don t have to always have been a leader to do something important and to make an impact, and you don t have to be a big a personality or a loud person to take a stand. Almost every parent at some point tells their child, Don t put your fingers in the electrical outlet, or you ll get shocked. Naturally, the child will put his or her fingers in the outlet just to see what will happen. After getting shocked, the child will cry. The parent will then say, I told you not to do that. This is part of human nature. Everybody thinks that they know best and nobody else can tell them what to do. This situation would also apply to gun control, as more gun control laws would cause criminals to push the envelope even more and commit more crimes involving guns. When the state of Illinois passed Concealed Carry legislation this last summer, many who believe in the right to bear arms as defined in the Constitution hailed this as a victory and could not wait to obtain the right to carry concealed weapons.
