1. Home Is Where The Heart Is Essay
Crafting an essay on the concept of "Home Is Where The Heart Is" is a task that demands a
delicate balance of personal reflection, cultural understanding, and literary finesse. The difficulty
lies not only in articulating one's own sentiments about what constitutes a home but also in
navigating the myriad interpretations and nuances associated with the theme.
Firstly, one must grapple with the inherently subjective nature of the topic. What does "home"
mean to different people? Is it merely a physical space, or does it encompass emotional
connections and a sense of belonging? Exploring these questions requires introspection and the
ability to translate abstract feelings into coherent prose.
Additionally, delving into the concept of home inevitably involves considering broader societal
and cultural implications. Factors such as family dynamics, socio-economic backgrounds, and
geographical locations all influence our understanding of home. Balancing personal anecdotes
with broader sociocultural analysis adds layers of complexity to the essay-writing process.
Moreover, conveying the emotional depth inherent in the theme requires a deft touch with
language. Capturing the intangible qualities that make a place feel like home – whether it be
through vivid descriptions of childhood memories or poignant reflections on personal growth
– demands a mastery of storytelling techniques.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the topic of "Home Is Where The Heart Is" necessitates a
nuanced approach that blends personal reflection with broader societal insights and literary
craftsmanship. It is a task that challenges writers to articulate complex emotions and experiences
with clarity and depth.

Erin Brokovich, based on a true story, is a story about an intriguing single mother
named Erin whose actions eventually lead to the biggest lawsuit against any
corporation in history. Struggling, the ball starts rolling for Erin when she gets into
a car accident. Her lawyer thinks she will win in a court case from her accident,
but they lose. In compensation for the loss, Erin is given a job at the law firm and
begins to dig into a case against Pacific Gas and Electric when she finds out they are
trying to buy a resident of Hinkley, Californias home to cover up their depositing of a
danger chemical. After her research, she finds that many people in Hinkley have all
had medical issues related to this and that there is acknowledgement from... Show

While they acknowledge that they are dumping a chemical into the tap water, they
lie to the residents of Hinkley by telling them that it is a different type of
chromium, chromium III, that isn t dangerous. Lying is the simplest and biggest
ethical mistake there can be as it is always intentional and causes harm to the other
side who believes what is being said. Not only does PG E lie about the type of
chromium being dumped, they also try to cover it up through various methods.
First, they have paid the medical expenses of people in the town as a way to show
that they are doing their part to help, when really this is a small expense compared
with what the ethical dumping of chromium or an alternate form of chemical would
consist of. Secondly, they are bribing the people with large amounts of money to
buy their homes and the land they are on, which holds the dangerous chromium.
Once again this is a cheaper way to hide their issue compared to the cost of having
to fix their practice or losing their company. They even try to give out large amounts
of money to stop the case when they know that one is being started against them. The
people of Hinkley have trouble seeing past this, because of the good that PG E does
for the community overall with jobs and their economy, etc. This is an issue with
Utilitarianism ethics. It is hard to see past what is good overall for the most majority
of people and realize the negative effects this overall good is having for some people.

5. The Sugar Man Analysis
There is something intriguing and mysterious about a once famous star who draws
a huge fan base then suddenly disappears from the scene of stardom like he never

the limelight. The director of this documentary, Malik Bendjeloul, goes deep into the

some light into his whereabouts.
Sixto Rodriguez was of Mexican origins who found himself singing in the bars of
Detroit, Michigan. He would soon release an album titled Cold Fact, a collection
of socially engaged songs that would capture the attention of his audience. One
such song was the Sugar Man which talked about drugs. His producers were
optimistic and visibly excited that he would become a huge hit and would soon
produce another album, coming from Reality. They were wrong; he did not hit. His
album sales fared poorly, and he would soon be dropped unceremoniously by his

The scenario was even more magnified in the case of Rodriguez; none of the other
stars who shared the same experience as him has ever received such accolades as

hearts of the South African fan base. His Latino ascent could explain why he found a
huge following in South Africa; as he was Mexican, he was able to avoid the white
and black divide and appeal to the white liberals South Africa. The themes in
Rodriguez songs had a personal appeal to this South Africa fan base the songs had
scathing attacks on prejudice and suppression that was prevalent in the American

6. Elephant Behavior
Asian elephants are large and gray. They inhabit tropical forests. They can
camouflage their gray color in shady areas to conceal themselves against predators.
These elephants have long trunks, allowing them to reach the ground, squirt water
over their backs or into their mouths, and blow dirt onto their backs during dust
baths. Male elephants often have visible tusks whereas females, such as those in
northeast India, do not. Surprisingly, elephants have large padded feet that enable
them to walk with minimal noise. Large, flappable ears help them cool off. however,
they will overheat if they cannot get to a shaded area during the hottest part of the day.

The majority of the species take a part in activities such as complex communication,
teaching, greeting ceremonies, courtship, and communal care. Females often have
very close relationships with other females. The majority of them stay together their
entire lives and care for each other. Asian elephants have also been known to stay
behind with a sick or injured herd mate. This is a trait many humans admire and
strive to resemble.
Lack of mating and deforestation have caused a major decline of these beautiful
creatures. In 1900, an estimated 100,000 Asian elephants existed. Now, over half of
the population has been lost. Scientists predict they will become extinct by 2025.
That is less than ten years away.
Before industrialization, Asian elephants roamed most of Asia. Due to deforestation
and the loss of their supplies for human use, only 15% of that space is still available
to them. Elephants from different regions are restricted to different areas. For
example, the Indian elephant has a larger amount of land to roam than the Sri
Lankan. Sumatran elephants have lost 70% of their habitat due to human
8. Goodness And Evil In The Scarlet Letter
Doubtlessly, many people do not know the extent of impact of Sin upon other
people unless they experience it. In general view, some people say that Sin or good
doing can be forgotten after committing it, and there is no side or main effect in the
psycho and mentality either in the soul of the sinner nor in physical effect.
Sin can not be limited under a specified definition because every community and
society interprets it according to their visions of Sin in the society they are living in.
So, Sin in the Puritan s community is totally different from other communities,
because they established their theocracy on the basis of abolishing and exterminating
Sin from their life. They wanted to be pure, but it is much difficult for anyone to be
away from committing Sin due to the Evil which exists in our world.
Goodness and Evil exist in our world and we cannot ignore one of them. All people
in different cultures, religions and sectors do their best to remove Evil from their
lives in order to achieve happiness, repose and smooth life. Unfortunately, they can
not because there is a dangerous hour of temptation by Evil; this hour came when
Man feels weak, despair and disappointed in a particular thing of one s life.

9. Business Law Mistake
Introduction
In the Law of Contract the phrase mistake Misrepresentation is applied when one or
both parties of a contract act under a false or mistaken understanding.
Mistake can be defined by Pendleton , Vickery (1998), [1] as; вћў A
misunderstanding regarding a fact, causing one or more parties to hold disagreeing
beliefs about the foundation of a contract.
Mistakes can be made in the form of a contracts subject matter or as a mistake of
identity. There are 3 different types of mistake in Contract Law. вћў Common

вћў Voidable
On the other hand if the contract is deemed voidable due to misrepresentation the
contract still exists and the good title is passed from the first party to the crook
who then passes the good title on the an innocent third party (as long as the
innocent third party paid a reasonable price for the goods, if they did not pay a
reasonable price the court will find they did not have good faith and the contract is
therefore void). In a case like this the only thing the plaintiff can do is find the crook
and sue him for the amount lost.
There are two ways a court will decide if the contract is made void for mistake or not.
If the contract was made face to face or at a distance (eg. on the phone or by letter)
вћў At a distance
This was first applied in the case Cundy v Lindsay (1878)[10] where a crook had
pretended to be a regular customer of the company and ordered a substantial amount
of goods. Once in possession of the goods he sold them on to an innocent third party
who bought them at a reasonable price (good faith). The company then took action
against the innocent third party under the grounds of mistake. It was held in this case
that the plaintiff was mistaken as to the identity of the crook and the contract was
made void, on the grounds that the plaintiff thought they

According to Veloutso Moutinho (2009, p.315) Brand relationship is defined as the
continual exchanges between a specified brand and an established customer, where
relationship characteristics of love, association, interdependence and loyalty are

brandrelationships are the quality of relationship between brands and consumers. As a
result, there are many influences that formulate consumer brand relationship.
Basically, brand loyalty , brand equity and trust Escalas and Bettman, (2005, p. 379)

In addition, developing brand relationship requires the company to build brand equity

Affects of Vernalization Length on the Flowering of Arabidopsis thaliana
Background information
The flowering of plants is a tightly controlled process and flowering at the wrong
time could cause detrimental problems for a plant, especially if it were to flower too
early in the season. There are both environment and genetic factors that can influence
flowering in Arabidopsis thaliana. In the winter annual A. thaliana, environmental
factors affect the gene expression of Flowering Locus C (FLC) (Michaels, et al.,
2006). Environmental factors include the quality and quantity of light and
vernalization, which is the promotion of flowering due to cold temperatures

that it can be a gateway for international business.
Cultural
Culture plays a large role within society and the business environment of Portugal
when compared to a country like the U.S. This is of important concern when
considering doing business in Portugal and the ability to conform to society. The
Portuguese are conservative, traditional, and are people who hold formality when
dealing with one another, which is shown through the form of politeness. Their
culture respects hierarchy for example business and society are vertically structured.
Investing time in building relationships and trust with business colleagues is a very
important part of their business culture along with communication. They also have a
more relaxed attitude towards time and do not see deadlines as crucial as people from
many other cultures do which could possible contradicting for incoming businesses,
clientele and etc. (Kwint). The differences in cultures are always relevant when doing
business in foreign countries. Considering Portugal is part of the EU they have much
more similarities with the surrounding countries which is definitely a benefit from a
cultural perspective even

which can cause dehydration, getting run over, Etc. There are turtles being born

the turtles are being affected by lighting on the beaches many things could happen.
A few examples are that the turtles will soon be extinct and we soon will not be able
to see their beauty. The other animal rates could go down also because some of the
animals need to eat the turtles to survive. People should stop putting the lights near
the beach now. It kills the loggerhead turtles each year and soon they will become

Finally we should make a difference to the loggerhead turtles. We should be careful
and think whenever we are going to the beach. A few things that hurt these turtles are
commercial fishing and fish trawls that capture the turtles and drown them. Another
thing we should not do is marine pollution because the turtles eat things they are not
supposed to and most times will die. That last of the 3 reasons is lighting on the
beaches that affect the baby turtles of where they re going and kill them. We should

a whopping $146 billion dollar market cap (Selyukh). By further understanding these
motives, one is able to realize the role that media plays in their daily lives and the
influence that they may have that extends outside the television broadcast.
The power that these conglomerates hold may cause given information and facts to
be distorted, possibly in order to better benefit themselves and their own corporate
interests. This information highlights Hall s ideal of how knowledge and power
intersect. Hall brings up the idea of how there is this Gap of representation, a
figurative gap between the actual facts and how the media represent it (Hall). This
gap between representation and the true facts must be measured by the individual,
when he or she may think something is reported inaccurately or in a biased
mannered. In order to understand this gap that may be presented by

Sales invoices are prepared in batches on a daily basis using numbered sales invoices.
Sales invoice numbers are automatically generated by the company s computer
system. The accounts receivable clerk does not have appropriate computer rights to
override the computer generated invoice number. Upon preparing sales invoices, the
accounts receivable clerk verifies that the first invoice number of the batch is
consistent with the last invoice number of the previous batch. Inconsistencies or
skipped sales invoice numbers are investigated and resolved before new sales
invoices are prepared. The items shipped are compared to the items billed for proper
quantity, price, and other sales order terms.
The accounting department supervisor compares and reconciles a copy of the daily

24. Essay On Skill Based Pay
The primary determinant of rate of pay is the kind of job an employee performs.
Different job require different kinds and level of skills and these skills have
varying levels of value to the organization. Typically, the higher the skill levels the
higher the pay. Because, employees levels of skills tend to affect work efficiency
and effectiveness. Many organizations have implemented skill based pay systems
which reward employees for their job skills and competencies they can
demonstrate. In skill based pay system, an employee s job title doesn t define his or
her pay category, skills do. The more skills a worker has, the higher the wage. Skill
based pay systems seems to mean nicely with the changing nature of jobs and the
new world of work, Henderson (2004). Another factor that influences an employee s
pay is the kind of business the organization is in. private sector jobs typically
provides higher rate of pay than public sector or non profit jobs. The nature of the
business and its impact on compensation also applies to different industries. For
example, restaurants and other retail businesses have notoriously low salaries for
operative employees and first line managers, Henderson (2004). Also, whether or not
an organization or particular business unit is unionized can influence an employee s
pay. We find that the wages of unionized workers tend to be higher than those non
unionized employees for comparable jobs, but were true mainly in heavy
manufacturing industries

General Motors must be able to communicate throughout the process in order to

executive director of global logistics, Mr. Edgard Pezzo, took over GM s logistics
division, he noted that MRP systems needed to be improved to eliminate excess
inventory and improve the efficiency of item routing (Ludwig, 2014). Pezzo also
worked diligently to improve communication at all levels. He made it easier for
internal stakeholders, such as purchasers, manufacturers, finance, and more, to
communicate with external stakeholders, like suppliers, so that they could

Sex and Dominance in The Ghost Road
Pat Barker s The Ghost Road is a masterful literary integration of sex and war. The
novel s protagonist, the lascivious, bisexual Billy Prior once remarks: Whole bloody
western front s a wanker s paradise, a statement with far reaching implications
concerning aggression and eroticism (Barker 177). The novel concludes a successful
trilogy, beginning with Regeneration (1991) and The Eye in the Door (1993).
Winner of the prestigious Booker Prize Award in 1995, The Ghost Road delves into
many standard Booker motifs, such as war, the British class system, memory, and
childhood, but Barker revitalizes these worn subjects. With prostitutes, lecherous
priests, and the naked body, she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike the crying child, Prior is duly subservient to the doctor s orders. Doctor Mather
infantilizes Prior, calling him laddie (Barker 11). His examination by the
dominating doctor reminds Prior of his childhood, and of his early sexual liaisons
with men. At this early point, Barker leaves the reader in the dark as to Prior s
history as a male prostitute. Clues to this history arise throughout the first half of the
novel in flashes, as memories of childhood trauma.
This opening scene incorporates a variety of dynamics. First, the squad of running
soldiers entices Prior s sexual appetite, as do the bodies of his own men later on at
the baths. This outlines the sexual and military objectification of the male physique.
Second, the domineering doctor anally penetrates the passive Prior with his fingers,
which Prior interprets as an intermingling of medical and sexual authority. For Prior,
the line between clinical and sexual authority blurs. Later, in the baths, Prior s
command authority over his naked men mixes with his desire to exercise sexual
authority. Third and finally, the doctor infantilizes his patient, spurring ghostly
memories of childhood sexual abuse. As steeped as this scene is in sexual innuendo,
this is just the beginning; Barker s booker is overripe with sexual subtexts and

27. BP s Consideration of Outsourcing IT
One of the most important forces of outsourcing is that organizations do not have
gain the needed and required sources internally. And they have a difficulty in
integrating and attracting expertise, where outsources own capabilities on a global
level, modern technologies and other required resources. Also, by outsourcingthe cost
of keeping employees and consultants for short term is reduced. Furthermore,
outsourcers are able to offer better career opportunities for business IT staff if they
decide to transit to the outsourcer. As the manager of BP Company viewed the main
reason of BP Company outsourcing is that it has become increasingly apparent that
service companies provide us with technical skills and ideas that we could no longer

Final Report Real Time Interactive group project
Introduction
For this report the process of creating the game Chased by Snakes as a member of
Danger Noodle will be discussed.
Methodology
For this project it was decided by the group to use a flat management structure, and to
follow a system akin to free development. This method meant that none of the group
was the project manager and instead the thing keeping people on track was their self
motivation to complete the project. To aid with completing the project at the start of
the project a list of work was set out from the requirements, and then each member of
the group picked the tasks that they could complete for the year. The main reason
such a free and unstructured ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another problem is that this method requires everyone to have high motivation if
they want to complete the project to a high standard and a as the group is small a
few unmotivated people can bring the whole project down. The group did have
motivation problems during the middle of the project with some group members not
producing any work. The motivation could have been reduced if the work been
assigned one at a time instead of all at the start allowing people to focus on one
thing at a time and seeing the list of work get smaller.
A problem with using this flat management with free development is that there are
not a lot of examples to follow with many companies using agile. It seems that this
flat management is new to the games industry and so the group might make some
mistakes that others can learn from in the future who want to use the same
structure. There are however some companies that do, valve uses a flat
management structure and so does Chucklefish games (Bithell , Sliwinski,

33. Effect Of Cellular Respiration On Yeast
Cellular Respiration: how much CO2 does Saccharomyces cerevisiae respire from
different sugar sources?
Introduction:
Saccharomyces cerevisiae, also known as baker s yeast, is eukaryotic fungi
(Nakasono, 2003). When yeast is fed, it uses oxygen and a sugar source to produce
energy (ATP), and COв‚‚, the way humans do (Nakasono, 2003). Yeastundergoes
aerobic respiration which involves oxygen.
Hypothesis and predictions:
We hypothesize that sucrose would have the highest respiration rate due to the fact
that it is a disaccharide containing glucose and fructose, a combination of two sugar
sources. The more sugar the S. cerevisiae is fed, the more COв‚‚ will be produced.
Experimental Procedure:
During this experiment, sugar sources were varied and respiration rate evaluated.
To begin, a water bath was set at 30 degrees Celsius. This creates an optimum
temperature for the enzymes in yeast to breakdown sugar and give off COв‚‚.
Each sugar source, glucose, sucrose, lactose and glycerol were all added to its own
unique yeast sample, one at a time. Each sugar source that was added to the yeast
solution was immediately incubated for 10 min, then was transferred to a
respiration chamber. The COв‚‚ sensor was put in, recording the COв‚‚ respiration
for 4 min. This process was done for each sugar source. The reparation rate was
recorded through Logger Pro. After 4 min passed, the slope was recorded, resulting in
respiration rate.
Results:
Sugar Source Respiration Rate ppm/min

In 1999, a research team was formed to examine the effect of the built environment on
the therapeutic process. An important outcome was the formulation of a new set of
guidelines which could be a value to other designing health care settings throughout
the NHS. The research project was entitled The architectural healthcare environment
and its effect on patient health outcomes . It was funded by a three year grant from
uk government.
Two NHS trusts that were planning to move existing cohorts of patients from old
accommodation into new were identified. One, at Poole, Dorset, involved acute
sector inpatients (orthopaedic) and the other, at Brighton, Sussex, involved non acute
sector inpatients (mental health). In both cases, whilst the health care setting
changed, the clinical and managerial regime and staff remained the same, as did the
treatment and medication. Whilst a considerable number of patients moved from old
accommodation to new at both Poole and Brighton, the remainder of those being
studied had either only been in the old accommodation or were fresh admission to the
new. In a small number of cases in Brighton, there were some re admissions after a
period of times spent in the community; these patients therefore experienced both old
and new settings but with an interval of time in between. Patients views on a number
of aspects of the built environment were elicited before and after the moves.

that turns him into evil Mr. Hyde who goes around and terrorizes a small community
in London. Hyde commits many terrible crimes, including murder. People are scared
of Hyde, and allow him to do whatever his heart desires. In the text the author shows
that the theme of limitations of scientific experimentation is evident. Stevenson
shows throughout that text that without limits people will die, limits are necessary
when science involves human testing, and had Jekyll been limited by science Hyde
would have never been created, and all of the death and despair would have never
happened. In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Awful instances and crimes are something of a regular occurrence throughout this
story. These crimes seem to escalate in severity during the course of the story. The
first terrible crime happens in chapter one when hyde runs over a little girl, as a
pro football linebacker would do to a petite running back, and leaves her
screaming bloody murder as he carries about his business until he is brought back
to the scene by Mr. Utterson, who quickly realizes that this creature of a man is not
phased by this incident. Hyde also murders an innocent man for no other reason
except that the man got in Hyde s way. When the two met the older man bowed
and accosted the other with a very pretty manner of politeness (17) while Hyde all
of sudden broke out in a great flame of anger, stamping with his foot, brandishing
the cane, and carrying on (as the maid described it) like a madman (17). Hyde also
killed a second person, not with a physical beating, but from a psychological
standpoint. In Lanyon s letter, he states, The creature who crept into my house that
night was, on JekyllВ’s own confession, known by the name of Hyde (48.). The
mere thought of such a foul being led to the death of Dr. Hastie
42. Scottsboro Trial
In Scottsboro, Alabama, March 9, 1931 nine African american boys, Olen
Montgomery, Clarence Norris, Haywood Patterson, Ozie Powell, Willie Roberson,
Charles Weems, Eugene Williams, Andy Wright, and Roy Wright were
incriminated of rapeing two white women on the subway. As they were accused of
raping Ruby Bates and Victoria Price they were put on trial. This trail was long and
unfair. On the train the boys were evidently taken away by the sheriff, once Ruby
told a posse member (sheriff/police) of what went on. They were taken to the jail,
Ruby and Victoria told the jail, they should be lynched as their chastisement. Twenty
minutes after the train had been stopped, one of the women, Ruby Bates, called over
a posse member and told him that she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This caused many rallies, riots, peaceful protest. This case informs us now because
it also tells us how bad they were treated back then, the people believed the girls
because they were white, and mostly overlooked the boys because they were black.
So to end this long unfair trial, they were cleared. The latter mentioned in the book
To kill a Mockingbird, by author Harper lee. A chapter on Harper Lee s now classic
To Kill a Mockingbird deiГ»y analyzes the novel s ideological contradictions,
showing that Lee s insistent locaLIsm at once acknowledged the continuing impact
of the Scottsboro Narrative and undermined its significance as a register to the
injustices of the American legal system. In a trenchant epILogue. (Foley 768) This
trial did not just impact the life of the boys it impacted the life of others, after this
trial they looked at how they did all these cases. As the time went on there became
more and more fair trails, less biased jury and judges. But it does still exist, racism
in court many years later. But the trial from Scottsboro, Alabama with Olen
Montgomery, Clarence Norris, Haywood Patterson, Ozie Powell, Willie Roberson,
Charles Weems, Eugene Williams, Andy Wright, and Roy Wright all falsely accused
of raping Ruby Bates and Victoria Price was a prodigious part of the way they
treated trails against African
43. Lord Of The Flies Comparison Analysis
Composers such as William Golding and J.J Abrams are able to employ various
themes and ideas to convey important messages within their texts. These themes
are often represented through the clever clever and concise use of descriptive
language and symbolism. Golding s lord of the flies and Abrams Examples of this
are cited in the text The Lord of the Flies and film Lost where Golding and Abrams
are able to articulate their views on civilisation vs savagery and societies brittle
shell which when put under pressure results in a descent into chaos and savagery.
Golding is able to encapsulate paramount themes and ideas in the text through the
use of themes symbols such as civilisation vs savagery and symbolism. The
preeminent matter in Lord of the Flies is the constant clash between two opposing
and combative aspects of human nature, which Golding efficaciously shows
through representing the best and worst of society, civilisation vs savagery. An
example of this is when Piggy and Ralph spot a conch and decide to use it to
summon a meeting shortly after the plane crash. We can use this to call the others.
Have a meeting. They ll come when they hear us Piggy says this signifying early
on the underlying value that the conch has other than its practical use. This is an
example of symbolism used to relate society s values with the islands. Golding uses
symbolism to convey his message that society s state of governing and law is feeble
and if people are put in certain
44. Hills Like White Elephants, By Ernest Hemmingway
In the story Hills Like White Elephants, Ernest Hemmingway allows a superficial
plot to symbolically display a conflict between choice of destination as a couple s
discussion between train rides. The layers of description and dialog manipulate a
small moment of time and demonstrate that a human choice can range while
perspective shifts the understood potential of the landscape. By crafting an intricate
story that is filled with symbolism and overlapping complexities, Hemmingway
provides a sophisticated short storythat exposes the feelings behind controversial life
choices. The story begins by introducing the side of the valley with no shade and no
trees, a forty minute wait time, and the couple in Spain. The two are described at
first as an American and a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I don t want anyone else. And I know it s perfectly simple. The argument that he
knows best gets shut down with her asking him to stop, but he continues and says
that he has no care for the child. He carries the two bags as if anything more would
be too much and looks out for a train that hasn t arrived yet. When asked if she felt
better, the girl replies and states that nothing is wrong with her; she feels fine because
pregnancy isn t some problem that needs an abortion to remedy it. Through the
numerous details, Hemmingway creates a short story that reflects the opinions of two
very different opinions. In one case, change is something that is desired, yet in the
same relationship, change can be too consequential to readily accept. The differing
nature scenes and the descriptions of characters created a duality while the setting
facilitated symbolism. Overall, the implementation of many factors and devices
created a detailed piece of literature that could explore the different mindsets of the

I knew I was born different when I was shorter than everyone in my classroom. I
knew I was born different when I couldn t pronoun words clear like my classmates.
I knew I was born different when my body size was different than everyone else in
my classroom.
I didn t like class because everyone knew I was different. When I went home to tell
my mother and my father they would say, God made you different than everyone
else, he made you different because you are special. You are beautiful the way God
made you. If I believed what they were telling me, why do I feel so different? Why
does it hurts when my classmate laugh at me, why does it hurts when I feel I don t
belong?
When I feel the pain, the shame, the hurt, I would go up to my room with my dog
named butterfly Sappho. Butterfly Sappho knew how to comfort me, she would fly
around the room and sit on my head. She and I had a secret that I couldn t tell
