I have been an avid golfer, ever since I was five years old. I aspired to be like the
profession ladies I would watch golf on TV. Before my eight grade year, I thought it

In this article, The Sting Of Intentional Pain by Kurt Gray and Daniel M. Wegner
they offer an inside account of how intentional pain actually causes more pain than
unintentional pain. These authors prove this through an experiment where forty three

individuals were then moved to individual rooms where they would be administered
simple psychophysical test but primarily a discomfort assessment.

can lead to a few bad things in life, especially towards their own children. When
having a bad effect towards each other, they usually get lost in what the problem is
and forget about how to overcome them. The negative effects can also change an
individual s identity as well. Familydysfunction can have a negative effect on an
individual s identity in several ways.
One way family dysfunction affects an individual s identity is by lack of affection.
First, when a child does not get the affection needed from their family. For
example, when a child starts to grow up. They are needing affection whenever they
want whether it being alone, tired, happy, or to feel encouraged. It makes
themselves feel good when getting enough affection from their parents. Yet without
it, it would make the child feel depressed and alone. In the Erickson s Stages of
Psychosocial Development by Kendra Cherry, Erickson talks about what would
happen when a child does not get affection (stage 1). The child would start to isolate
themselves from others around them when growing up and feel self conscious.
