How Does Shakespeare Use Language and Dramatic Devices to...
How does Shakespeare use language and dramatic devices to present the theme of jealousy in Othello?
Othello weaves a tragic tale of love, jealousy and murder. Set in Venice and progressing to Cyprus,
Shakespeare s Othello follows the cursed path of its namesake, a black soldier whose love for his wife
ultimately results in her death. Woven into the socially and emotionally delicate plot is a multitude of
key themes, including race (Othello s colour), love, and jealousy.
A key figure, if not the most important in the play, is that of the malcontent Iago, who sows the seeds
of jealousy in Othello s mind, and presents him with proof to back up his suspicions. Iago acts as a
catalyst to Desdemona s murder and it is his intricate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this point the staging would be of great importance, I would place Cassio and Desdemona on the
far left, and as Othello and Iago enter on the far right, Cassio exiting promptly. This view of the scene
would reinforce the idea that Cassio is up to no good by visiting Desdemona, and would then be
backed up by Iago describing him as acting guilty like on line 39.
Iago plays on Othello s own insecurity about his race to trigger jealousy; an example of this would be
his observation on lines 227 and 228, where he insinuates that Desdemona may be better suited to
somebody of her own clime, complexion and degree . This follows a quote from Othello, stating that
his relationship is nature erring from itself , allowing the audience to see his own uncertainty about his
ethnic background, which Iago then develops and twists to suit his needs. Iago s quote implies that
Desdemona would be better matched with a man of similar race, such as Cassio, rather than Othello,
which is designed to spark jealousy within Othello, and is shown to have a profound effect on him
towards the end of the scene, with his aside to the audience Why did I marry .
This short soliloquy allows the audience to see Othello s feelings, whereas he is, at this point, keeping
them from

Art Reflection Essay Example
This summer I spent my time on South Street, in a store that has a long history there. I came in as an
intern and left a more experienced photographer. In this reflection essay I will discuss the place in
which I interned, the information I researched about my field and what I ultimately learned by the end
of this experience. My internship was hosted at Eye s Gallery, off of South Street, Philadelphia. This
store is related to the famous Magic Gardens, a permanent installation of Isaiah Zagar s mosaic art.
Eye s Gallery itself was established by his wife, Julia Zagar, and it is a boutique focusing around Latin
American Folk Art. Many of their original merchandise came from the artists they met while they
served in the Peace Corps. Now they have expanded to include an extensive collection of jewelry,
clothes and include influences from South East Asia. The store opened in 1968 (Udell), after the
building served as their home for many years. My job at Eye s Gallery was to serve as a product
photographer, but my skills were also utilized in fashion shoots and social media curating. Product
photography is mainly about capturing merchandise in a way that makes the appealing, makes the
viewer want to purchase it. This is exactly what I aimed to do during my internship. Many of the
shoots I was assigned focused on jewelry, which is the big seller for the store. I was also given a few
fashion shoots, where I had to utilize models to make the clothes appealing. I read an

Essay on Henry David Thoreau
Henry David Thoreau is a man of many facets; a man who refuses to conform to what the masses
believe is acceptable. He calls for the rejection of complexity and for a change in mankind s view of
life. Thoreau, in his many writings, demands change in a stagnant society. He emphasizes respect for
nature, even to the point of blatant disrespect for humanity.
Thoreau s connection to nature was a key ingredient in his lifestyle. He studied ants closely; hoping to
understand them like one understands the human race. He came to the conclusion that either ants are
as dignified as men, or that men have lowered themselves to the ant s position. He stressed the futility
of war, showing in vivid detail that war does irreparable damage to both armies. ... Show more content

He claimed that humanity dwelled too much on the ideals and thoughts of men who had died long ago.
The foregoing generations beheld God face to face, he said, Why should not we have a poetry and
philosophy of insight and not of tradition? Thoreau obsessed with stirring the conscience of his peers,
which eventually drove him to jail in protest of an oppressive government. He accentuated the
importance of thinking for ourselves and acting on those thoughts. He understood that a blindness had
fallen over his culture, and he struggled to rouse those who couldn t rouse themselves.
For all of Thoreau s brilliance, he was also a man plagued by his own mind. His ideas of a Universal
Mind and Being instead of Living seem foolish to me. I would have to say that, if I had met Thoreau
in his own time, I would have agreed to his insanity. His teachings on Transcendentalism seem
somewhat bizarre to me. How can a stream be too deep for the length of your arm... not for the length
of your mind? Perhaps Thoreau was a truly intelligent man who simply blew a fuse pondering life too
hard. Perhaps he was a great intellectual man who understood what was most important in life, and I
am but a detached person with no understanding. Either way, Thoreau and I would never get along.
Thoreau s most obvious underlying message is resistance. He didn t learn the alphabet like everyone
else, but he learned it sdrawkcab! After his aunt

Essay on Boyles Law Apparatus
Abstract The objective of this lab was to determine the relationship (if any), between the pressure and
volume of a gas given the temperature and # of molecules remained constant. Using the Boyle s law
apparatus, and textbooks to demonstrate pressure it was concluded that there was a relationship
between pressure and volume. However, the relationship was not a direct relationship, and it was
determined that the pressure and volume of a gas are inversely proportioned. Thus, proving Boyle s
theory correct. Introduction

Global Warming And Its Effects On The Environment
Energy choices
The environment plays an integral part of offering and sustaining livelihoods to billions of humans
around the globe. Without rain, food security is adversely threatened, meaning that humans most vital
need could be affected. Recently, the issue of global warming has caught many nations attention as
carbon emissions significantly cause it. Greenhouse gas emissions around the world have been
somehow unavoidable, but countries have sought methods to mitigate the inevitable outcomes. While
it often seems as though this task is too daunting to overcome, this paper asserts that with the right
approach, carbon emissions could be controlled thus reducing the destructive impacts on the
environment, which inevitably lead to dire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The choice of fuel used by the individuals or the countries depends on regulations, awareness and
availability of substitutes (Miles Kapos, 2008).
Fuel sources and consumption for US and India
Currently, India is ranked third in terms of carbon pollution, with vehicles accounting for the higher
percentage. By the same token, the US is also a major polluter of the same, only that the pollution
comes from various sources. For instance in the US, greenhouse emissions majorly come from six
sources: production of electricity, Industry, transport, commercial and residential, land use and
forestry, and agriculture. In 2013, electricity production accounted for 31% of gas emissions in the
US, transport was 27%, industry 21%, agriculture 9%, forestry 13% and commercial and residential
was 12% (EPA, 2015).
In terms of consumption, the two countries have had high levels with statistics showing the US to
have over 90 Quadrillion Btu since 2008. In 2008, the US recorded a 99.5 Quadrillion Btu
consumption; 94.4 the following year, a result that replicated in 2010. As for India within the same
period, 21.5 Quadrillion Btu was consumed in 2008 followed by 22.5, 23.4 and 23.9 in 2009, 2010,
and 2011 respectively (Showstack, 2015). Evidently, the two countries level of consumption is largely
different despite India s high population.
As of 2011, the US was ranked third in the countries that emission emanating from agricultural

Landmines-Personal Narrative
These people weren t trying to kill me, they were just going about their daily lives, same as every
other person. Besides, I didn t even have my gun with me. I didn t trust myself with it ever since I shot
a hole in the bedroom door while my wife was sleeping because I thought I heard someone coming up
the stairs. At this point, the man was maybe twenty feet away from me. I could feel my heart pounding
against my chest, my mind urging me to bolt for the door and make an escape. More questions flashed
through my mind, all of them without answers. Who are you? What are you going to do to me? What
do you WANT? I was being noticeably paranoid, and the bartender must have caught on because he
put his hand on my shoulder. Startled, I nearly jumped out of my seat. He had probably said something

Research Paper On The Gospel Of John
The Gospel of John
The genius of the Apostle John resides in his ability to penetrate to the theological foundations that
undergird the events of Jesus life. He reaches to the deeper baptism and the calling of the Twelve are
doubtless presupposed, they are not actually described. Even themes central to the Synoptics have
almost disappeared: in particular, the kingdom of God or the kingdom of heaven, so much a part of the
preaching of Jesus in the Synoptic Gospels and the central theme of His narrative parables, is scarcely
mentioned as such (cf. 3:3, 5; 18:36). meaning of the events, to the relationships of the Father, the Son
and the Holy Spirit in the work of redemption, and to the Trinitarian love for humanity which ... Show

found in the Synoptics (e.g. the Olivet Discourse) are not found in John. Although Jesus .Page 2
Introduction
Second, John includes a fair amount of material of which the Synoptists make no mention. All of the
material in John chapters 2 thru 4, for instance, including His miraculous transformation of water into
wine, His dialogue with Nicodemus and His ministry in Samaria, find no Synoptic counterpart.
Further, the resurrection of
Lazarus, Jesus frequent visits to Jerusalem, and His extended dialogues or dis courses in the Temple
and in various synagogues, not to mention much of His private instruction to His disciples, are all
exclusive to the Fourth Gospel.
No less striking are the forcefully presented themes that dominate John but that are largely absent
from the Synoptics. Only in John is Jesus explicitly identified with
God (1:1, 18; 20:28). Here, too, Jesus makes a series of important I am statements which are qualified:
I am the light of the world, the resurrection and the life, the good shepherd, the vine, the living water,
the way, the truth and the life. These culminate in a series of absolute (unqualified) I AM statements
that are redolent of God
Himself (cf. 6:20; 8:24, 28, 58).

Maximum Efficiency Of The Engineering World
Maximum Efficiency In the engineering world, there are two ways to come up with a solution to solve
a problem. There s the effective method, which is a solution that simply solves the problem at hand.
However, simply solving a problem is never enough. Therefore, this is why we usually revert to
finding an efficient method of problem solving. Efficiency is the ultimate goal for all manufacturers
and businesses as this is where the big bucks come from. It is very important that these big companies
find these efficient solutions in order to minimize their losses whilst maximizing their profits.
Benjamin Disraeli, a British writer from the 19th century once said that, there can be economy only
where there is efficiency . Efficiency is the basis of all large production companies. They re main goal
is to be able to produce their product at a fast enough rate, whilst keeping the production costs at a
minimum. Companies must take a lot of small factors in mind when it comes to production.
Assessment of labour costs, material costs and time is key when it comes to figuring out how to
minimize the cost of production. An oversimplified equation to represent efficiency is, Output ÷ Input
= Efficiency. In the eyes of a manufacturer, the output would represent their product sale cost and the
input would represent the production cost. Every successful production company must realize the
importance of efficiency. For example, if you look at a car company and look behind the scenes

The Book Of Numbers 22-24 By Calvin Seerveld Essay
In the book of Numbers 22 24, we get a very odd story. A story of a man, angels, a talking donkey,
curses and more! The author also wants to find out how this can help us understand more of the Bible
and Israel. He does this by going through the passage and giving us different ways of approaching the
text. The author is critiquing the approaches to help the reader understand the good and the bad of
each. The author, Calvin Seerveld gives us a good, in depth study of this passage. In this paper, I will
give a summary of what Seerveld is saying on this passage. Seerveld starts off his book by giving an
overview of what the biblical story is about and then moves on to the anemones/strange things of this
story. There are many strange things which require us to look deeper in the text. At first, it looks like
God changes his mind often and being difficult. There are other small things that seem odd to the
story. There are some issues with the way the character travels, the elders are mentioned in the
beginning of the story, then not heard from again, some repetitious statements and other things.
However, it is important to note the story floated around orally for many years and there were
different variations of the story. It took a long time before they were all written down into a story. In
fact, Seerveld argues the third and fourth oracles were written before the time of Solomon and his
kingdom was divided. The first two oracles were not composed until the late 7th century

The Ways Of Today s Society
The ways of today s society are a trap to the common child. One cannot go out in public without
seeing at least one child using some form of technology. When most are used to seeing children
playing in their front yards or on a playground as they once did, they have a sudden awakening when
they realize, most children are not like that anymore. Modern culture is a corruption to one s
childhood and causes a child to be unsocial, unhealthy, and constantly pressured to follow the newest
trends in social media, however, certain TV shows and websites have been known to try and educate
children. Because of modern technology, kids are becoming more and more unsocial. Instead of

Children are not able to develop the social skills that they are supposed to when they do not get out
and play with other adolescents or even interact with their own family. Because of the fact that kids
are sitting inside for so long, they often become quite unhealthy. As someone sits there for a while,
they feel the urge to snack on foods. Most often, the foods they are snacking on are junk food. Since
they are looking mindlessly at a screen, children find themselves subconsciously eating. Junk food
such as chips and candy can become addictive and it is difficult to stop eating once started. Not only
does the food they eat cause the children to be unhealthy, but they are also not getting out and being
physically active. Children s developing sensory, motor, and attachment systems have biologically not
evolved to accommodate this sedentary, yet frenzied and chaotic nature of today s technology. Young
children require 2 3 hours per day of active, rough and tumble play to achieve adequate sensory
stimulation to their vestibular, proprioceptive and tactile systems. Tactile stimulation received through
touching, hugging and play is critical for the development of praxis, or planned movement patterns
(The Impact of Technology on the Developing Child). It is necessary for children to be physically
active and play, as it helps with their physical and mental development.

The numerous cultures of Mainland China are both intricate with their systems of deities and
traditions, and yet humble with their ways of life and survival. China is located in the midst of high
lands, plateaus, canyons and numerous river systems. In coinciding with the difficult landscapes in
which they live, the Chinese people have managed to generally abide by the natural protocols of the

many traditions which are based upon their thriving in their environment. These traditions are what

Whereas the necessity of cultivating the land through the use of a plow is attributed to Yan Di.

With the establishment of its first dynasty China had been transformed from a primitive society,

Structuralism and Reality in Wrestling Essay
When discussing structuralism, I find that it takes a realistic viewpoint of how the world is
represented, as we essentially are awash in concepts and signs via the structures of communication
and language. In this week s readings I found more depth to the ideas behind structuralism that my
previous exposures, especially when looking to Roland Barthes The World of Wrestling from his
collection Mythologies. The World of Wrestling provided ample insight into how the structuralist idea
of difference plays into deriving meaning (or meanings) from literature in innumerable ways,
especially in how the reception of specific mythemes and signifiers evoke structurally conditioned
responses from the public.
One of the most important concepts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Livre, or book, cannot represent the actual physical existence of the book, rather it acts as a pointer
toward the idea of the real object or concept out in the world. So thus, each utterance in a language
points to a concrete concept, and how that concept is understood through language reflects on how a
speaker (or writer, artist, comedian, dancer, so on; all are forms of expression and/or language) views
and interprets the world based on their given structural understanding of the world. Each reader
assumes, due to prior exposure to the structure of their given communication (be it French, English,
American Sign Language), that when the signifier appears, the built in, tag along concept will follow.
Extending this to literature each text is a speech act in its own right. Looking at an individual text, as
the New Critics would, would equate evaluating his pitch and equating it to meaning. In this case an
individual text is an utterance within the system, an example of parole (Bressler 99). However,
looking at the text for how it expresses meaning, how it works on its audiences preconceptions (or
lack thereof) exposes the underlying structures at play, not only in the world of literature, but in how

Assess The Benefits Of Promoting Mental Health And Wellbeing
Mental health and wellbeing can positively affect almost every area of a person s life: education,
employment, family and relationships. It can help people achieve their potential, realise their
ambitions, cope with adversity, work productively and contribute to their community and society.
Promoting mental health and wellbeing has multiple benefits. It improves health outcomes, life
expectancy, productivity and educational and economic outcomes and reduces violence and crime.

The Problem Of Aggression And Violence
Aggression and violence are common in every day life, so common everyone is exposed to it. Krahe
defines aggression as behavior that has intention to inflict negative consequences on a target with an
expectancy the action will have a particular outcome (2001).There are an innumerable amount of
studies to explain why aggression and violence occur, which are ranged from social and biosocial
explanations as seen by the frustration and aggression theory (Dollard, 1939), the excitement transfer
theory (Zillman, 1979), and the social learning theory (Bandura, 1961). Also ranged from biological
theories, such as, psychodynamic (Freud, 1920), evolutionary (Buss, 1990), and ethological (Lorenz,
1966). Aggression has many forms, from social, verbal and physical aggression and other serious
kinds of violence (Karriker Jaffe, Foshee, Ennett, Suchindran, 2008). Based on theories and studies; I
will propose my FIVEstop approach, which are 5 solutions that may help reduce aggressive in society,
and why the solutions may work. First, I recommend starting with children and parents. Since children
are our future adults who will grow to learn different behaviors and actions, I believe it is crucial to
reduce aggression in children first starting from birth. Many studies have shown that spanking
children causes aggression. Maccoby (1992) found that children who have experienced physical
discipline from their parents are more aggressive than those who have not. However, to understand

This chapter includes general information related to the main subject of this project which is a fogging
system. How does the system work?
The working principle of the fog cooling system can be summarized as this system utilizes very high
pressure water about 1000 psi or 70 pars which occurred from a pump with high quality and delivery
lines to create a very fine droplets size nearly 10 micron from specifically designed nozzles. Then,
these fine droplets are quickly evaporated and absorbed the heat found in the air. In order to offer an
excellent cooling; fog cooling systems use something called flash evaporation (Giacomelli, 2003). Fog

For better performance, cooling fans sometimes are added for the purpose of air circulation in closed
areas, where the expected temperature will differ based on the climatic conditions, where cooling to
12°C is possible under the best circumstances (Yuwana et al., 2011). Evaporative Cooling
Fog evaporative cooling system is similar to the conventional misting system in many aspects. But it
works at a much higher pressure reached to (1000 2000 lb in 2; 7000 14000 kPa) and tiny nozzles with
(1.2 gal hr 1; 4.5 L hr 1) volume. The tiny droplets can evaporate more quickly and efficiently, the
evaporation rate is influenced also by the area of the surface, where the relation between them is
proportionally. High quality filtration and water systems are necessary for reducing the clogging
nozzles problem (Giacomelli, 2003).
The evaporative cooling system is usually consisted of two lengths of fog nozzles (0.5 in; 1.3 cm)
PVC pipe diameter. The nozzles may be made of high pressure, stainless steel and it could produce a
water droplets or fog with 0.2 mm diameter at (1.3 ml s 1 ;1.2 gal hr 1) flow rate and (3450 kPa ;500
lb in 2) pressure. The effectiveness of cooling is defined as the ratio of the reduction of the immediate
inner dry bulb air temperature to the depression of the inner wet bulb, before fogging, is determined
and calculated to 50% 70%. thus, if the

Vietnam Bond Market
Introduction
In recent years, the issue of efficiently mobilizing capital has become the concern of all companies.
There are some ways of doing this: borrowing from the banks, issuing stocks or issuing bonds.
However, when the interest rate of borrowing from banks is very high due to high inflation, together
with the stock market is quite instable; calling for capital from bond market is much more preferred by
investors.
In the context of this report, some major points regarding the bond market in Vietnam are presented.
Firstly, a common picture about the Vietnam bond market is drawn. Next come the types of bonds and
major participants in this market. Finally, several ways by which bonds are issued are described in
details.

However, Vietnamese individual investors still prove to be unprofessional for some reasons: Main
source of capital usually coming from banks, lack of reliable information about the market, limitation
in accurate evaluation of the value of bonds and the bond issuing organizations. Therefore, they have
tendency to invest following the majority: sell immediately when prices of securities decrease and buy
right away when prices increase. This will lead to the high fluctuation of the market, so easily results
in the losses suffering of many investors.
2. Fund managers
Fund management is the professional management of various securities (shares, bonds etc.) to meet
specified investment goals for the benefit of the investors. Fund management companies play an
important part in the development of securities market. Since the establishment of VietFund

have been granted operation licenses by SSC. Among them, FPT Fund Management Joint Stock
Company has the highest chartered capital with 110 billion VND and Lotus IMC has lowest charter
capital with 5 billion VND.

Why I Learned A Valuable Moral Lesson
Stepping into a new environment and being a part of a new group are always a little uneasy, and most
people will worry a transfer to a place where they only know a little acquaintance. However, I am
always confident to overcome the nervousness, use my experience to blend in with the new campus
environment, and make a valued contribution. Being confronted with the challenge of living in the
unfamiliar environment empowers my curiosity, emboldens my desire to succeed, and strengthens my
foundation of preservation and self discipline. Through my experiences, I have learned a valuable
moral lesson is that everything has a price. If we keep our goal consistently, work hard, and do not
give up when things are difficult; eventually, the payback is worth the effort.
My popularity is also highlighted by my compassion, my ethical principles of treating people with
respect, charity and fairness no matter what their circumstances are. In the healthcare environment, I
believe that respect is very crucial in improving the patient experience. The volunteer experience at
many hospitals and communities teaches me appreciate the life value, the importance of diversity of
the population, and understand more relationship between human with human. These values will
strongly strengthen social connections between people and contribute to friendliness and cohesion on
campus. Besides that, volunteering at places where sickness and disadvantage existed gives me a
sense of belonging to humanity and

nineteen year old boy, who is suspect of killing his father in a late night altercation with an
extraordinary knife. His fate now lies in the hands of 12 jurors, each with his own determination to
solve the case and reveal the truth. As the session takes its course, evidence becomes scrutinised,
tempers rise, and the jury room erupts in a shouting brawl because one such juror finds reasonable
doubts in the two testimonies that were deemed credible enough to convict. In his fight for an
acquittal, the singled out juror found that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Nonetheless, he maintained a subtle poise and composure during the cession, and with such

standing at 11 not guilty and 1 guilty.
Methods of Persuasion: The methods of persuasion used in the jury session consisted of Davis s
ability to open the others eyes to the inconsistencies of the re examination of the testimonies. It was a
real fight to the end, because Davis could have easily given up. He begins by saying that he quot;only
wants to talk. quot; He sheds some light on the other jurors when he undermines the testimony of a
woman who claimed to have seen the boy. Davis asserts that she could not have seen him at all
because time was too short. With the time given, she had to wake up, and put her glasses. They all
soon found out that there was not enough time to do so. A neighbor also claimed to have been under
the house of the father who and said he heard the murder. Shortly thereafter, the man said he ran

The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz The Tragic Fall of Duddy
A man must pursue his dreams. This is certainly true for everyone of the humankind, for if there were
no dreams, there would be no reason to live. Duddy Kravitz understands this perfectly, that is why he
is one of the most ambitious young men of his time. From the moment he hears his grandfather says, A
man without land is nobody, he is prepared to seek the land of his dream no matter what the cost
would be. This ambition of his is very respectable, but unfortunately his methods are damnable.
Duddy is a relentless pursuer; a formidable competitor and also a ruthless manipulator. It is true that
he has obtained all the land that he desires at the end, but he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This can be clearly seen in his relationships with Virgil and Yvette.
Duddy is never loved in his family, so originally Duddy is quite content to know that there is someone
who cares about him Yvette. He finds great comradeship in her and has also enjoyed great sex with
her.
But as time passes by, Yvette becomes only a tool to him. He uses her as a medium through which he
can buy the land that he lusts for; because he is a minor and he cannot legally own land. The farmers
would be wary of a young Jew, they might jack up prices or even refuse to sell, but another French
Canadian would not be suspect. Duddy also treats her as a sexual toy. He makes love with Yvette
whenever he wants it, but he does not take Yvette s feelings into consideration: Yvette wanted to wait,
but Duddy insisted, and they made love on the carpet.
He never pays any respect to Yvette and he does ...not know how to treat a woman.
With Virgil, Duddy takes advantage of his physical disabilities. After selling the pinball machines that
Virgil brought him to ease his financial troubles, Duddy does not want to repay Virgil. Using the fact
that Virgil is an epileptic and that it is very difficult for him to be hired, Duddy employs him as a
driver. But Duddy tells him that a truck would be necessary for the task, and that he can provide Virgil
with the perfect vehicle for one thousand dollars the exact

MK-Ultra Conspiracy Essay
There is probably a whole bunch of people out there that don t know what MK ULTRA is or what it
was. They may have heard about it as a conspiracy or a myth. Theorists have spent countless of hours
trying to figure it out. MK ULTRA is a true conspiracy that conducted tests on human subjects through
certain brainwashing techniques and as of right now we do not know if the government still uses or
has those brainwashing techniques to this day, but the public believes that MK ULTRA is a part of a

PAPERCLIP, probably the biggest sub project in MK ULTRA history. This branch of MK ULTRA

their hands on German technology; gain German scientific expertise and knowledge and prevent
Germany from rebuilding their strength military and scientifically wise. Another big part of MK

Privacy In The USA
Everyone has their own secret and private things covering around; we only show the world some part
of our lives and characters. Sometimes you need time to think, do homework or time to be alone to
realize what you love or what you need to do. People in the different nation has different thinking
about lifestyle. When I came to the U.S, I am so surprised and should learn more about the privacy.
Although Vietnamese people do not have and care about privacy too much, American custom about
privacy is considered as a treasure and clearly show in the workplace and at home. And then, I believe
that when I write some detail about the private , it will help you understand and know how the privacy
is important.

vivid and contain curiosity. The privacy is highly recommended for another country in the world. In
my opinion, I think privacy is essential for life. It should be maintained and promoted more in the
other country. Privacy will help people be aware and more responsible for work, life and the education
of children in the family. Their children can live more independent when away from home. And I
think we should apply it to our life now and for future generations. Because who knows about privacy

Pros And Cons Of Genetically Farming
Have you ever wondered how there is enough food production for all the people in the world?
Genetically modified farming plays a big role in food production because of it being an easier way to
produce food for people from all around the world. Since the population is increasing so rapidly, GM
farming is the quickest way of producing enough food which protects the environment as well. The
environment is not the only thing being benefitted, people s health is being helped with an easier
consumption of vaccines in GM foods. While some people favor non GMO farming to prevent
possible health risks, genetically modified farming is essential to address the world s growing
population, to protect the environment, and to prevent large scale illness outbreaks. There is much
controversy about GMO farming and those who support non GMO farming have different viewpoints
(Dresser and Siegel). The opposers of GMO farming question the safety of GM crops as apparently
they are not tested which causes problems for people who eat it (Dresser and Siegel). Most of the food
eaten today is genetically modified meaning it has been approved (Erdosh). If GMO farming has been
approved then the safety of it has been tested as well (Erdosh). New and different genes are being
inserted into GM foods which may cause health risks like allergic reactions and inflammation (Dresser
and Siegel). Allergic reactions that could cause inflammation is uncommon because GM foods are

1. What specific part of the kidney does the dialysis tubing represent? What is the function of this
part?
It represents the part of the kidney that acts like a semipermeable membrane, the nephrons. The
nephrons are made of membranous tubules that act analogously to the semipermeable dialysis bag.
When blood passes through the tubules, particles in the blood leave the tubule by the process of
diffusion.
2. What does the yellow food color represent at the end of the experiment? What does the Congo red
represent?
The Congo red solution is used to mimic blood and the yellow food color mimics the excretory
product of the kidney. When a mixture of Congo red, yellow food color and water were mixed and
taken in a dialysis bag, the yellow food color diffuses out into the surrounding water in which the
dialysis bag is suspended. At the end of the experiment, the contents in the dialysis bag represent the
blood; the contents of the beaker represent the urine formed. The beaker has a slight yellow tinge that
results from the yellow food color.
3. Why is it important for the kidney to filter

Transcendence and Technology in William Gibson s Neuromancer
Transcendence and Technology in Neuromancer
Where do we go from here? Case asks near the conclusion of William Gibson s novel Neuromancer
(259). One answer suggested throughout most of the narrative is nowhere. True, geographically we are
whisked around the urban centers of Earth in the near future, Chiba City, the Sprawl, Istanbul, and
then to the orbital pleasure domes and corporate stronghold of Freeside and Straylight. The kind of
movement to which I am referring is not overtly physical, though. Neuromancer articulates a motion
inward, its attention focused upon subtle interiors; it is implosive rather than expansive, choosing to
examine how technology affects the universe of self, individual consciousness, rather than ... Show

With this increasingly sophisticated technology, with the ability to remake the world and ourselves,
Case s question resonates self consciously: where do we go from here? Neuromancer presents
technology in an accelerating culture as a potent force capable of facilitating escape, immersion,
destruction, and even transcendence of self without glamorizing or demonizing technology itself.
Perhaps, in this manner, Gibson is able to posit more than one viable answer to this paralyzing
(peculiarly postmodern) question.
As the gap between present and future grows smaller and becomes difficult to discern, people and
machines overlap and, in some cases, are indistinct or interchangeable. If we move even twenty
minutes into the future (a la Max Headroom [1985]), as Larry McCaffrey states, we will encounter a
world...unimaginably transformed... (9). In this environment, where whole bodies of technique are
supplanted monthly , the soft flesh of the human body becomes a deliberately unsupervised
playground for technology itself (Neuromancer 4,11). Some cybernetic implants, Molly s
mirrorshaded eyes, her retractable razor claws, the brain sockets built to accept microsofts, software
allowing instant access to and mastery of entire worlds of knowledge and skills, offer the promise of
heightened, seemingly superhuman, physical and/or mental abilities. Such prosthetics seek to exploit

The Issue Of Child Labor
The issue of child labor has drawn significant attention since early 1990s as many labor union and
special interest groups advocate banning import of goods produced by the child labor in developing
countries and the international consensus in the form of Convention on the Right of the Child (CRC)
which is widely ratified in 1989 by countries (Boyden, Ling and Myers, 1998). However, concern
regarding child labor is not new and can be dated back to industrial revolution, especially late
eighteenth and early nineteenth century, in England many parents were helpless but to send their
children to work to cope the increasing poverty and inequality. (Horrell and Humphries, 1995;
Edmonds, 2007). Nevertheless, before the industrial revolution and ... Show more content on

There have been steady decline in the incidence of child s exposure to hazardous work and child labor
on balance. However, the recent estimates of child labor are still astonishingly high and the trend
predict even slower pace of decline in child labor. According to ILO report in 2012, for age group 5 17
years 16.7 percent (or 264,427 in absolute number) of children are in some form of employment, 10.6
percent (equivalently 167,956) is considered as child labor, and 5.4 percent (equivalently 85,344) is
involved in hazardous work. Although these figures are lower than the corresponding figures in 2000,
the absolute numbers of child labor are still very high (ILO 2013). Policy measures adopted to reduce
child labor are derived from an increasing number of theoretical and empirical research on this issue
specially since late 1990s. Theoretical studies use the household decision making model to explain the
incidence of child labor and attempt to find the determinants of child labor. Initial models that attempt
to explain the phenomenon of child labor assume an exploitative household where child is considered
household s asset and parents are the sole decision maker who maximizes their welfare disregarding
the welfare of child. In these models parents are selfish and child labor is chosen if it maximizes
household welfare which may disregard

Gone With The Wind Analysis
Gone with the Wind opens with beautiful shots of the Georgian countryside, accompanied by
sweeping romantic music and the sentiment rolling down the screen: There was a land of Cavaliers
and Cotton Fields called the Old South. Here in this pretty world, Gallantry took its last bow. Here
was the last ever to be seen of Knights and their Ladies Fair, of Master and of Slave. Look for it only
in books, for it is no more than a dream remembered, a Civilization gone with the wind (Selznick) The
film explicitly describes its objectives before the audience even sees the famous Scarlett O Hara.
Nostalgia for this old Southern way of life is palpable throughout the entirety of the film and we see
an alternate world portraying benevolent white slaveholders, their complacent, jolly slaves, and the
noble Cause of the confederacy they tirelessly fought for. However, when viewed in the modern
context, this illusion of the South is easily broken and the historical inaccuracies become evident
underneath the appearance of Southern romanticism. Though Gone with the Wind romanticizes
slavery and the Old South and glosses over racial issues, it represents an important part of American
history in its portrayal of white southern attitudes during the civil war.
Gone with the Wind is so broadly interpreted, which makes it is very difficult to say that this film
focuses on one specific aspect of Southern life . From watching the film it is very clear that the
southern pride and way of life is

Data Hiding With Codeword Substitution Essay
The paper proposes data hiding with codeword substitution in encrypted H.264/AVC video streams.
Here video is encrypted and data is hided in the video to maintain the security and privacy. In this way
data hiding in encrypted domain without decryption preserves confidentiality of the content. By
analyzing the property of H.264/AVC codec, the codeword of the intra prediction modes, the code
words of motion vector differences and code words of residual coefficients are encrypted with the
stream ciphers. The data hider may embed additional data in the encrypted domain by using code
word substitution technique, without knowing original content. Data extraction can be done in
encrypted domain or in the decrypted domain.

Poor Fish
You can t blame gravity for falling in love. This quote from Albert Einstein raises importance to the
universal theme of true love. This theme can be seen in the Italian story Poor Fish, where the main
character had low self esteem. Later in the story, he met a girl named Ida and started gaining more
confidence in himself. Another story that demonstrates true love is the Chinese The Tall Woman and
Her Short Husband. This story revolves around the lives of a married couple in which the woman is
taller than her spouse. In the story, no one believes that they are in love and they start suspecting that
Mrs. Tall only married for wealth. However, in light of the tragedies that happen, true love is

The main character in Poor Fish is has a very low self esteem in the beginning, but after meeting a
woman named Ida his confidence started growing to new levels. Moravia uses inferiority to describe
his individulaity in the story; People never know very much about who they are, nor about who is
inferior to them and who superior. As for me, I went too far in the direction of thinking myself inferior
to everybody (Moravia). The main character soon becomes too over confident in himself, and this also
alters how other people see him. The Whitley Abbey School District describes the individuality of the
main characters in The Tall Woman and Her Short Husband, [Mrs. Tall] seems to be the opposite of
her husband in every respect; tall where he is short, thin where he is fat, dull where he is bright. The
author does this to show that, although they don t seem suited at all, their genuine love for each other
makes physical differences irrelevant (Whitley Abbey School District). All these physical and
emotional differences contribute to their own uniqueness. They also go on to describe that this is, at
heart, a love story, describing a couple who stick together through thick and thin, who society has
made outcasts but who have found belonging with each other. The two forget about usual conventions

Universal Declaration Of Human Rights
According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a doctrine created to ensure a mutual
standard of treatment amongst all humans, every person deserves an equal set of life standards.
According to Article 18 of this 30 Article document, everyone has the right to freedom of thought,
conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom,
either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in
teaching, practice, worship and observance (Campbell, MacKinnon, and Stevens 98). This document
also states in Article 5, no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment
or punishment (Campbell, Mackinnon, and Stevens 97).
The idea of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is commendable and I believe that achieving
the goals that it states is necessary for ultimate global progress, but it unfortunately falls flat when put
into practice, comparable in assessment to the goals and purpose of the United Nations versus the
actual actions of the United Nations. Many of the declarations in the UDHR overlap with one another
and prevent certain action from occurring. In the contentious issue of Female Genital Cutting, we can
see the above articles clashing with one another. While it is every persons right to be able to freely
practice their religion, it is also apparently every persons right to be able to be free of any degrading
and harmful treatment that

Common Causes And Treatment Of Oral Ulcers
Oral ulcers are shallow sores inside the mouth or near the mouth. They may be referred to as canker
sores or cold sores, which are two types of oral ulcers. Many oral ulcers are harmless and go away on
their own, but some cases may require medical treatment to determine the cause and proper treatment.
CAUSES
In some cases, the cause of this condition may not be known. Common causes include:
Viral, bacterial, or fungal infection.
Emotional stress.
Foods or chemicals that irritate the mouth.
Injury or physical irritation of the mouth.
Medicines.
Allergies.
Tobacco use.
Less common causes include:
Skin disease.
The herpes virus (herpes simplex). When oral ulcers are caused by herpes simplex, they are commonly
referred to as cold sores or fever blisters.
Oral cancer.
RISK FACTORS
Oral ulcers are more likely to develop in:
People who wear dental braces, dentures, or retainers.
People who don t keep their mouth clean and brush their teeth regularly.
People with sensitive skin.
People with conditions that affect their entire body (systemic conditions), such as immune disorders.
SYMPTOMS
The main symptom of this condition is one or more oval shaped or round ulcers with red borders,
which are usually about ¼ inch (6 mm) in size. The cause of the ulcers can cause variation in the
symptoms that you experience, such as:
Location of the ulcers. They may be inside the mouth, on the gums and the insides of the lips

Thales Of Miletus And The Elastic School Of Philosophy
From Thales of Miletus, the first ancient Greek philosopher, to Socrates and Aristotle, ancient Greek
philosophy has set the standard for modern intellectual and rational thought. They developed new
ways of reasoning and logic to explain the natural phenomena that surround them. Reality, existence,
and the essence of things were the basis of what these philosophers sought to rationalize. In this paper,
I will be discussing the epistemology and ontology presented by The Eleatics, the Pluralists, and The
Atomists. These three Pre Socratic schools often opposed one another s epistemological and
ontological views. However, each critic resulted in even more theories and laws that we still use to
this day. Their works also improved the standard for argument which became of great use to the future
Classical and modern philosophers.
The Eleatics
The Elastic School of Philosophy, established by Parmenides in the fifth century, was best known for
the development of early philosophers including Zeno of Elea and Xenophanes of Colophon. The
Elastics works often pointed to their use of logic and reason rather than sense experience to find the
ultimate truths . These ultimate truths were concerned with the Being and Becoming of things rather
than the origin of the things themselves. In this section, we are going to focus primarily on the school
s prominent advocates: Parmenides, writer of On Nature, and Zeno, founder of the dialectic method.

The Effect Of Effective Technology On British Land...
In this essay I will be talking about how effective technology was in British land campaigns during the

interpretation of the effectiveness of British generals during the First World War, written by Gary
Sheffield in 2001. It s purpose is to show consensus of the interpretations of the generals in the First
World War, and to also show his personal interpretation. He is doing this since he is a revisionist.
Source E supports the statement because Sheffield uses the word Donkeys to describe the
ineffectiveness of the generals during the First World War and to show that the generals may have
made mistakes. However, the second part of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, there are also some limitations to this source. For example, it misses out a lot of other

Another limitation is that the extract is from a book, this means the author (Sheffield) may have
deliberately controversial in order for people to interested in is book and ultimately get more sales.
Overall, this source gives us a bit of information, which both support and dispute the statement. The
first part talks about the mistakes made during the First World War, however the second part talks
about how weapons were used successfully, this shows that the source is objective. Source F is a
primary source of a painting, which was created in WW1 by John Sargent. Sargent was paid by the
British government to document the war, so it could be shown to future generations what happened
during the First World War. Its purpose it so make the viewer question the morality of using gas and
the possible affect it could have on thousands of men. The source supports the statement, by showing
the sun setting in the background it symbolises the sacrifice of the wasted life of the men. The source
also shows a group of soldiers playing football in the background, this shows us that gas attacks were
a frequent thing during the First World War, this shows us that technology was not me to prevent gas
attack, overall, supporting the statement. However, the source also disproves the statement,

The Importance Of A Good Fitness On A Positive Mood
Finding a way to keep employees in a positive mood is important for various reasons. For example,
people who are experiencing positive moods or emotions are more flexible and open in their thinking
(Robbins, 2009, p. 268). In the military, being flexible and open to thinking is critical. Especially since
the military is an ever changing culture that is well known to be a significant source of distress for
military personnel during routine peacetime assignments (Pflanz, 2002). aGood use of a reference but
check the need for a page or paragraph (if an online source) number in direct quotes.
Another reason to find ways to produce positive moods in the workplace is that produces motivation.
According to Steven P. Robbins and Timothy A. Judge, in their book Organizational Behavior, putting
people in a good mood and providing them positive feedback can result in a cycle that leads to
motivation (2009, p.268). Motivation in the military can mean the difference between a good fitness
report and a bad one. As a matter of fact, motivation is a key ingredient leadership boards look for
when promoting personnel to the next rank.
Lastly, when leaders feel excited, enthusiastic, and active, they may be more likely to energize their

Irony And Consequences In Nothing But The Truth
The book, Nothing But The Truth by AVI is filled with irony and morals. The theme of the story is
Actions have Consequences. The main character, Philip and other characters learn that throughout the
story. In the book, Philip failed his English exam and trying to go out for his track team. But his track
coach informs him, ...actually a district rule that you can t be on a sports team unless you have a
passing grade in every subject. Phillip knows because he got a bad grade he will not be able to
participate. If Phillip got a better grade on the exam he would be able to run track. Another example of
the theme, is when the teacher asked Phillip to stop humming in class. Phillip didn t not do so he was
asked to leave the class and go to

The Red Black by Stendhal
Introduction I was taken aback as I read the lead story of The Red Black, the University of Georgia s
student run newspaper. It was a story about hate speech that had been posted on the Facebook pages of
two University groups. Why can t you dumb dirty n****s stop stinking up the place? Let UGA be
RIGHT for good WHITE Christian students. This had been posted onto The Black Affairs Council
Facebook page. Burn in hell f****s was posted on the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender
Resource Center s Facebook page. It brought back memories of my very first year at UGA as a student
back in 1997. I d been exposed to this hatred before even though it was much more subtle. It was my
first semester and second class of the day. Before class started, we were having polite conversation
about SAT scores and GPAs. I said mine and a guy behind me said, There s no way that black girl
scored higher than any of us on the SAT. She s only here because of affirmative action, taking the
place of people who actually deserve to be here. I knew then that my presence was tolerated but not
accepted. I was shell shocked then and now. Even coming from south Georgia, I d still never directly
experienced any intolerance or hatred. Yet here it was and is still at my higher education institution of
choice. Background The University of Georgia was incorporated on January 27, 1785. The university
was actually established in 1801 when a site was selected and graduated its first class in 1804. The

  • 2. How Does Shakespeare Use Language and Dramatic Devices to... How does Shakespeare use language and dramatic devices to present the theme of jealousy in Othello? Othello weaves a tragic tale of love, jealousy and murder. Set in Venice and progressing to Cyprus, Shakespeare s Othello follows the cursed path of its namesake, a black soldier whose love for his wife ultimately results in her death. Woven into the socially and emotionally delicate plot is a multitude of key themes, including race (Othello s colour), love, and jealousy. A key figure, if not the most important in the play, is that of the malcontent Iago, who sows the seeds of jealousy in Othello s mind, and presents him with proof to back up his suspicions. Iago acts as a catalyst to Desdemona s murder and it is his intricate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this point the staging would be of great importance, I would place Cassio and Desdemona on the far left, and as Othello and Iago enter on the far right, Cassio exiting promptly. This view of the scene would reinforce the idea that Cassio is up to no good by visiting Desdemona, and would then be backed up by Iago describing him as acting guilty like on line 39. Iago plays on Othello s own insecurity about his race to trigger jealousy; an example of this would be his observation on lines 227 and 228, where he insinuates that Desdemona may be better suited to somebody of her own clime, complexion and degree . This follows a quote from Othello, stating that his relationship is nature erring from itself , allowing the audience to see his own uncertainty about his ethnic background, which Iago then develops and twists to suit his needs. Iago s quote implies that Desdemona would be better matched with a man of similar race, such as Cassio, rather than Othello, which is designed to spark jealousy within Othello, and is shown to have a profound effect on him towards the end of the scene, with his aside to the audience Why did I marry . This short soliloquy allows the audience to see Othello s feelings, whereas he is, at this point, keeping them from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Art Reflection Essay Example This summer I spent my time on South Street, in a store that has a long history there. I came in as an intern and left a more experienced photographer. In this reflection essay I will discuss the place in which I interned, the information I researched about my field and what I ultimately learned by the end of this experience. My internship was hosted at Eye s Gallery, off of South Street, Philadelphia. This store is related to the famous Magic Gardens, a permanent installation of Isaiah Zagar s mosaic art. Eye s Gallery itself was established by his wife, Julia Zagar, and it is a boutique focusing around Latin American Folk Art. Many of their original merchandise came from the artists they met while they served in the Peace Corps. Now they have expanded to include an extensive collection of jewelry, clothes and include influences from South East Asia. The store opened in 1968 (Udell), after the building served as their home for many years. My job at Eye s Gallery was to serve as a product photographer, but my skills were also utilized in fashion shoots and social media curating. Product photography is mainly about capturing merchandise in a way that makes the appealing, makes the viewer want to purchase it. This is exactly what I aimed to do during my internship. Many of the shoots I was assigned focused on jewelry, which is the big seller for the store. I was also given a few fashion shoots, where I had to utilize models to make the clothes appealing. • 4. Essay on Henry David Thoreau Henry David Thoreau is a man of many facets; a man who refuses to conform to what the masses believe is acceptable. He calls for the rejection of complexity and for a change in mankind s view of life. Thoreau, in his many writings, demands change in a stagnant society. He emphasizes respect for nature, even to the point of blatant disrespect for humanity. Thoreau s connection to nature was a key ingredient in his lifestyle. He studied ants closely; hoping to understand them like one understands the human race. He came to the conclusion that either ants are as dignified as men, or that men have lowered themselves to the ant s position. He stressed the futility of war, showing in vivid detail that war does irreparable damage to both armies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He claimed that humanity dwelled too much on the ideals and thoughts of men who had died long ago. The foregoing generations beheld God face to face, he said, Why should not we have a poetry and philosophy of insight and not of tradition? Thoreau obsessed with stirring the conscience of his peers, which eventually drove him to jail in protest of an oppressive government. He accentuated the importance of thinking for ourselves and acting on those thoughts. He understood that a blindness had fallen over his culture, and he struggled to rouse those who couldn t rouse themselves. For all of Thoreau s brilliance, he was also a man plagued by his own mind. His ideas of a Universal Mind and Being instead of Living seem foolish to me. I would have to say that, if I had met Thoreau in his own time, I would have agreed to his insanity. His teachings on Transcendentalism seem somewhat bizarre to me. How can a stream be too deep for the length of your arm... not for the length of your mind? Perhaps Thoreau was a truly intelligent man who simply blew a fuse pondering life too hard. Perhaps he was a great intellectual man who understood what was most important in life, and I am but a detached person with no understanding. Either way, Thoreau and I would never get along. Thoreau s most obvious underlying message is resistance. He didn t learn the alphabet like everyone else, but he learned it sdrawkcab! After his aunt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay on Boyles Law Apparatus Abstract The objective of this lab was to determine the relationship (if any), between the pressure and volume of a gas given the temperature and # of molecules remained constant. Using the Boyle s law apparatus, and textbooks to demonstrate pressure it was concluded that there was a relationship between pressure and volume. However, the relationship was not a direct relationship, and it was determined that the pressure and volume of a gas are inversely proportioned. Thus, proving Boyle s theory correct. Without rain, food security is adversely threatened, meaning that humans most vital need could be affected. Recently, the issue of global warming has caught many nations attention as carbon emissions significantly cause it. Greenhouse gas emissions around the world have been somehow unavoidable, but countries have sought methods to mitigate the inevitable outcomes. While it often seems as though this task is too daunting to overcome, this paper asserts that with the right approach, carbon emissions could be controlled thus reducing the destructive impacts on the environment, which inevitably lead to dire ... Fuel sources and consumption for US and India Currently, India is ranked third in terms of carbon pollution, with vehicles accounting for the higher percentage. By the same token, the US is also a major polluter of the same, only that the pollution comes from various sources. For instance in the US, greenhouse emissions majorly come from six sources: production of electricity, Industry, transport, commercial and residential, land use and forestry, and agriculture. In 2013, electricity production accounted for 31% of gas emissions in the US, transport was 27%, industry 21%, agriculture 9%, forestry 13% and commercial and residential was 12% (EPA, 2015). In terms of consumption, the two countries have had high levels with statistics showing the US to have over 90 Quadrillion Btu since 2008. In 2008, the US recorded a 99.5 Quadrillion Btu consumption; 94.4 the following year, a result that replicated in 2010. Research Paper On The Gospel Of John The Gospel of John The genius of the Apostle John resides in his ability to penetrate to the theological foundations that undergird the events of Jesus life. He reaches to the deeper baptism and the calling of the Twelve are doubtless presupposed, they are not actually described. Even themes central to the Synoptics have almost disappeared: in particular, the kingdom of God or the kingdom of heaven, so much a part of the preaching of Jesus in the Synoptic Gospels and the central theme of His narrative parables, is scarcely mentioned as such (cf. 3:3, 5; 18:36). meaning of the events, to the relationships of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the work of redemption, and to the Trinitarian love for humanity which ... All of the material in John chapters 2 thru 4, for instance, including His miraculous transformation of water into wine, His dialogue with Nicodemus and His ministry in Samaria, find no Synoptic counterpart. Further, the resurrection of Lazarus, Jesus frequent visits to Jerusalem, and His extended dialogues or dis courses in the Temple and in various synagogues, not to mention much of His private instruction to His disciples, are all exclusive to the Fourth Gospel. No less striking are the forcefully presented themes that dominate John but that are largely absent from the Synoptics. Only in John is Jesus explicitly identified with God (1:1, 18; 20:28). Here, too, Jesus makes a series of important I am statements which are qualified: I am the light of the world, the resurrection and the life, the good shepherd, the vine, the living water, the way, the truth and the life. • 9. Maximum Efficiency Of The Engineering World Maximum Efficiency In the engineering world, there are two ways to come up with a solution to solve a problem. There s the effective method, which is a solution that simply solves the problem at hand. However, simply solving a problem is never enough. Therefore, this is why we usually revert to finding an efficient method of problem solving. Efficiency is the ultimate goal for all manufacturers and businesses as this is where the big bucks come from. It is very important that these big companies find these efficient solutions in order to minimize their losses whilst maximizing their profits. Benjamin Disraeli, a British writer from the 19th century once said that, there can be economy only where there is efficiency . Efficiency is the basis of all large production companies. They re main goal is to be able to produce their product at a fast enough rate, whilst keeping the production costs at a minimum. Companies must take a lot of small factors in mind when it comes to production. Assessment of labour costs, material costs and time is key when it comes to figuring out how to minimize the cost of production. An oversimplified equation to represent efficiency is, Output ÷ Input = Efficiency. In the eyes of a manufacturer, the output would represent their product sale cost and the input would represent the production cost. Every successful production company must realize the importance of efficiency. For example, if you look at a car company and look behind the scenes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The author is critiquing the approaches to help the reader understand the good and the bad of each. The author, Calvin Seerveld gives us a good, in depth study of this passage. In this paper, I will give a summary of what Seerveld is saying on this passage. Seerveld starts off his book by giving an overview of what the biblical story is about and then moves on to the anemones/strange things of this story. There are many strange things which require us to look deeper in the text. At first, it looks like God changes his mind often and being difficult. There are other small things that seem odd to the story. There are some issues with the way the character travels, the elders are mentioned in the beginning of the story, then not heard from again, some repetitious statements and other things. However, it is important to note the story floated around orally for many years and there were different variations of the story. It took a long time before they were all written down into a story. In fact, Seerveld argues the third and fourth oracles were written before the time of Solomon and his kingdom was divided. The first two oracles were not composed until the late 7th century ... Most often, the foods they are snacking on are junk food. Since they are looking mindlessly at a screen, children find themselves subconsciously eating. Junk food such as chips and candy can become addictive and it is difficult to stop eating once started. In this week s readings I found more depth to the ideas behind structuralism that my previous exposures, especially when looking to Roland Barthes The World of Wrestling from his collection Mythologies. • 15. The Problem Of Aggression And Violence Aggression and violence are common in every day life, so common everyone is exposed to it. Krahe defines aggression as behavior that has intention to inflict negative consequences on a target with an expectancy the action will have a particular outcome (2001).There are an innumerable amount of studies to explain why aggression and violence occur, which are ranged from social and biosocial explanations as seen by the frustration and aggression theory (Dollard, 1939), the excitement transfer theory (Zillman, 1979), and the social learning theory (Bandura, 1961). Also ranged from biological theories, such as, psychodynamic (Freud, 1920), evolutionary (Buss, 1990), and ethological (Lorenz, 1966). Aggression has many forms, from social, verbal and physical aggression and other serious kinds of violence (Karriker Jaffe, Foshee, Ennett, Suchindran, 2008). Based on theories and studies; I will propose my FIVEstop approach, which are 5 solutions that may help reduce aggressive in society, and why the solutions may work. First, I recommend starting with children and parents. Since children are our future adults who will grow to learn different behaviors and actions, I believe it is crucial to reduce aggression in children first starting from birth. Many studies have shown that spanking children causes aggression. Maccoby (1992) found that children who have experienced physical discipline from their parents are more aggressive than those who have not. However, to understand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How does the system work? The working principle of the fog cooling system can be summarized as this system utilizes very high pressure water about 1000 psi or 70 pars which occurred from a pump with high quality and delivery lines to create a very fine droplets size nearly 10 micron from specifically designed nozzles. Then, these fine droplets are quickly evaporated and absorbed the heat found in the air. For better performance, cooling fans sometimes are added for the purpose of air circulation in closed areas, where the expected temperature will differ based on the climatic conditions, where cooling to 12°C is possible under the best circumstances (Yuwana et al., 2011). Evaporative Cooling Fog evaporative cooling system is similar to the conventional misting system in many aspects. But it works at a much higher pressure reached to (1000 2000 lb in 2; 7000 14000 kPa) and tiny nozzles with (1.2 gal hr 1; 4.5 L hr 1) volume. The tiny droplets can evaporate more quickly and efficiently, the evaporation rate is influenced also by the area of the surface, where the relation between them is proportionally. High quality filtration and water systems are necessary for reducing the clogging nozzles problem (Giacomelli, 2003). The evaporative cooling system is usually consisted of two lengths of fog nozzles (0.5 in; 1.3 cm) PVC pipe diameter. The nozzles may be made of high pressure, stainless steel and it could produce a water droplets or fog with 0.2 mm diameter at (1.3 ml s 1 ;1.2 gal hr 1) flow rate and (3450 kPa ;500 lb in 2) pressure. What specific part of the kidney does the dialysis tubing represent? What is the function of this part? It represents the part of the kidney that acts like a semipermeable membrane, the nephrons. The nephrons are made of membranous tubules that act analogously to the semipermeable dialysis bag. When blood passes through the tubules, particles in the blood leave the tubule by the process of diffusion. 2. What does the yellow food color represent at the end of the experiment? What does the Congo red represent? The Congo red solution is used to mimic blood and the yellow food color mimics the excretory product of the kidney. When a mixture of Congo red, yellow food color and water were mixed and taken in a dialysis bag, the yellow food color diffuses out into the surrounding water in which the dialysis bag is suspended. At the end of the experiment, the contents in the dialysis bag represent the blood; the contents of the beaker represent the urine formed. The beaker has a slight yellow tinge that results from the yellow food color. 3. Why is it important for the kidney to filter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Transcendence and Technology in William Gibson s Neuromancer Transcendence and Technology in Neuromancer Where do we go from here? Case asks near the conclusion of William Gibson s novel Neuromancer (259). One answer suggested throughout most of the narrative is nowhere. True, geographically we are whisked around the urban centers of Earth in the near future, Chiba City, the Sprawl, Istanbul, and then to the orbital pleasure domes and corporate stronghold of Freeside and Straylight. The kind of movement to which I am referring is not overtly physical, though. Neuromancer articulates a motion inward, its attention focused upon subtle interiors; it is implosive rather than expansive, choosing to examine how technology affects the universe of self, individual consciousness, rather than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With this increasingly sophisticated technology, with the ability to remake the world and ourselves, Case s question resonates self consciously: where do we go from here? Neuromancer presents technology in an accelerating culture as a potent force capable of facilitating escape, immersion, destruction, and even transcendence of self without glamorizing or demonizing technology itself. Perhaps, in this manner, Gibson is able to posit more than one viable answer to this paralyzing (peculiarly postmodern) question. As the gap between present and future grows smaller and becomes difficult to discern, people and machines overlap and, in some cases, are indistinct or interchangeable. If we move even twenty minutes into the future (a la Max Headroom [1985]), as Larry McCaffrey states, we will encounter a world...unimaginably transformed... (9). In this environment, where whole bodies of technique are supplanted monthly , the soft flesh of the human body becomes a deliberately unsupervised playground for technology itself (Neuromancer 4,11). • 26. The Issue Of Child Labor The issue of child labor has drawn significant attention since early 1990s as many labor union and special interest groups advocate banning import of goods produced by the child labor in developing countries and the international consensus in the form of Convention on the Right of the Child (CRC) which is widely ratified in 1989 by countries (Boyden, Ling and Myers, 1998). However, concern regarding child labor is not new and can be dated back to industrial revolution, especially late eighteenth and early nineteenth century, in England many parents were helpless but to send their children to work to cope the increasing poverty and inequality. (Horrell and Humphries, 1995; Edmonds, 2007). Nevertheless, before the industrial revolution and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There have been steady decline in the incidence of child s exposure to hazardous work and child labor on balance. However, the recent estimates of child labor are still astonishingly high and the trend predict even slower pace of decline in child labor. According to ILO report in 2012, for age group 5 17 years 16.7 percent (or 264,427 in absolute number) of children are in some form of employment, 10.6 percent (equivalently 167,956) is considered as child labor, and 5.4 percent (equivalently 85,344) is involved in hazardous work. Although these figures are lower than the corresponding figures in 2000, the absolute numbers of child labor are still very high (ILO 2013). Policy measures adopted to reduce child labor are derived from an increasing number of theoretical and empirical research on this issue specially since late 1990s. Theoretical studies use the household decision making model to explain the incidence of child labor and attempt to find the determinants of child labor. Initial models that attempt to explain the phenomenon of child labor assume an exploitative household where child is considered household s asset and parents are the sole decision maker who maximizes their welfare disregarding the welfare of child. In these models parents are selfish and child labor is chosen if it maximizes household welfare which may disregard ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Gone With The Wind Analysis Gone with the Wind opens with beautiful shots of the Georgian countryside, accompanied by sweeping romantic music and the sentiment rolling down the screen: There was a land of Cavaliers and Cotton Fields called the Old South. Here in this pretty world, Gallantry took its last bow. Here was the last ever to be seen of Knights and their Ladies Fair, of Master and of Slave. Look for it only in books, for it is no more than a dream remembered, a Civilization gone with the wind (Selznick) The film explicitly describes its objectives before the audience even sees the famous Scarlett O Hara. Nostalgia for this old Southern way of life is palpable throughout the entirety of the film and we see an alternate world portraying benevolent white slaveholders, their complacent, jolly slaves, and the noble Cause of the confederacy they tirelessly fought for. However, when viewed in the modern context, this illusion of the South is easily broken and the historical inaccuracies become evident underneath the appearance of Southern romanticism. Though Gone with the Wind romanticizes slavery and the Old South and glosses over racial issues, it represents an important part of American history in its portrayal of white southern attitudes during the civil war. Gone with the Wind is so broadly interpreted, which makes it is very difficult to say that this film focuses on one specific aspect of Southern life . From watching the film it is very clear that the southern pride and way of life is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Here video is encrypted and data is hided in the video to maintain the security and privacy. In this way data hiding in encrypted domain without decryption preserves confidentiality of the content. By analyzing the property of H.264/AVC codec, the codeword of the intra prediction modes, the code words of motion vector differences and code words of residual coefficients are encrypted with the stream ciphers. The data hider may embed additional data in the encrypted domain by using code word substitution technique, without knowing original content. Data extraction can be done in encrypted domain or in the decrypted domain. Index Terms Data hiding, encrypted domain, H.264/AVC, codeword substituting. I. H.264/AVC is a video compression format [2] i.e. standard for high definition digital video. H.264/AVC video streams generally avoids leakage of video content which can help to address the security and privacy concerns with cloud computing. This theme can be seen in the Italian story Poor Fish, where the main character had low self esteem. Later in the story, he met a girl named Ida and started gaining more confidence in himself. Another story that demonstrates true love is the Chinese The Tall Woman and Her Short Husband. This story revolves around the lives of a married couple in which the woman is taller than her spouse. In the story, no one believes that they are in love and they start suspecting that Mrs. Tall only married for wealth. As for me, I went too far in the direction of thinking myself inferior to everybody (Moravia). The main character soon becomes too over confident in himself, and this also alters how other people see him. The Whitley Abbey School District describes the individuality of the main characters in The Tall Woman and Her Short Husband, [Mrs. Tall] seems to be the opposite of her husband in every respect; tall where he is short, thin where he is fat, dull where he is bright. The author does this to show that, although they don t seem suited at all, their genuine love for each other makes physical differences irrelevant (Whitley Abbey School District). All these physical and emotional differences contribute to their own uniqueness. They also go on to describe that this is, at heart, a love story, describing a couple who stick together through thick and thin, who society has made outcasts but who have found belonging with each other. Universal Declaration Of Human Rights According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a doctrine created to ensure a mutual standard of treatment amongst all humans, every person deserves an equal set of life standards. According to Article 18 of this 30 Article document, everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance (Campbell, MacKinnon, and Stevens 98). This document also states in Article 5, no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment (Campbell, Mackinnon, and Stevens 97). The idea of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is commendable and I believe that achieving the goals that it states is necessary for ultimate global progress, but it unfortunately falls flat when put into practice, comparable in assessment to the goals and purpose of the United Nations versus the actual actions of the United Nations. Many of the declarations in the UDHR overlap with one another and prevent certain action from occurring. In the contentious issue of Female Genital Cutting, we can see the above articles clashing with one another. While it is every persons right to be able to freely practice their religion, it is also apparently every persons right to be able to be free of any degrading and harmful treatment that ... • 34. Thales Of Miletus And The Elastic School Of Philosophy From Thales of Miletus, the first ancient Greek philosopher, to Socrates and Aristotle, ancient Greek philosophy has set the standard for modern intellectual and rational thought. They developed new ways of reasoning and logic to explain the natural phenomena that surround them. Reality, existence, and the essence of things were the basis of what these philosophers sought to rationalize. In this paper, I will be discussing the epistemology and ontology presented by The Eleatics, the Pluralists, and The Atomists. These three Pre Socratic schools often opposed one another s epistemological and ontological views. However, each critic resulted in even more theories and laws that we still use to this day. Their works also improved the standard for argument which became of great use to the future Classical and modern philosophers. The Eleatics The Elastic School of Philosophy, established by Parmenides in the fifth century, was best known for the development of early philosophers including Zeno of Elea and Xenophanes of Colophon. The Elastics works often pointed to their use of logic and reason rather than sense experience to find the ultimate truths . These ultimate truths were concerned with the Being and Becoming of things rather than the origin of the things themselves. In this section, we are going to focus primarily on the school s prominent advocates: Parmenides, writer of On Nature, and Zeno, founder of the dialectic method. • 38. The Importance Of A Good Fitness On A Positive Mood Finding a way to keep employees in a positive mood is important for various reasons. For example, people who are experiencing positive moods or emotions are more flexible and open in their thinking (Robbins, 2009, p. 268). In the military, being flexible and open to thinking is critical. Especially since the military is an ever changing culture that is well known to be a significant source of distress for military personnel during routine peacetime assignments (Pflanz, 2002). aGood use of a reference but check the need for a page or paragraph (if an online source) number in direct quotes. Another reason to find ways to produce positive moods in the workplace is that produces motivation. According to Steven P. Robbins and Timothy A. Judge, in their book Organizational Behavior, putting people in a good mood and providing them positive feedback can result in a cycle that leads to motivation (2009, p.268). Motivation in the military can mean the difference between a good fitness report and a bad one. As a matter of fact, motivation is a key ingredient leadership boards look for when promoting personnel to the next rank. Lastly, when leaders feel excited, enthusiastic, and active, they may be more likely to energize their subordinates and convey a sense of efficacy, competence, optimism, and enjoyment (Robbins, 2009, p.268).
