Over the past two years I have been struggling with a knee problem called
Osteochondritis Dissecans or OCD for short. Osteochondritis dissecans is a
condition where the bone underneath your cartilage dies due to a lack of blood
supply. This can cause the bone to crack and loosen and sometimes even
completely disconnect from the joint. Not only has this taken me out of all my
extracurricular activities such as, hockey and soccer, it has also taken a huge toll
on my academics. Through many physical therapy session, 22 doctors
appointments, 5 different doctors, and three surgeries I have finally gotten to
where I want to be and that does not happen for everyone. However if you work
hard, you will succeed. When I found out that I had a bad knee I was absolutely
devastated. It took five doctors to find out what exactly was wrong and it turned out

Along with that the angle of my knee was at a whopping seven degrees instead of
three degrees, which is the normal alignment of a knee for females. As we found out
more about what it would take to fix this rare injury that is when the journey of
having to work harder than I have ever had to.
Prior to this injury I had sports that I enjoyed and more importantly, kept me in
shape. Its really discouraging at the age of 16 to hear that there is a high
possibility you may never be able to do what you love again. It has been like a big

We, the Scottish had made a resistance against English rule, and so retaliated against
King Edward I by attacking Dunbar. Unfortunately this resulted in an English victory,
however this had forced more Scottish to join the Rebellion.
The Rebellion begins
