Simple Machines Essay
Engineers and scientists use scientific knowledge to design and build machines that make our lives easier. The machines they build today started off
with the basics, which are known as Simple Machines. Simple Machines are defined as the simplest mechanisms that use mechanical advantage to
multiply force. These machines have either few or no moving parts, and use energy to work. This term is usually referred to the six classical simple
machines; lever, wheel and axle, pulley, inclined plane, a wedge and a screw. They make work easier for us by allowing us to push or pull over
increased distances, and each have had an enormous impact the course of human civilization. Simple machines are the elementary basics of all

In spite of all the negative impacts of knives mentioned above, there are also many positive impacts that follow them. Stainless steel is the most widely
used material for the blade as it requires less maintenance and include very sharp edges, therefore making them easier to use. They don't impart any
kind of "metal" flavor and are corrosion resistant. Stainless steel knives do not catch rust or stain, and do not require frequent sharpening.
The knife has made a huge impact on humans in many ways, especially in ethical and cultural factors. As mentioned above, knives were the first among
mankind's earliest inventions, meaning that many cultures have made and attached spiritual and religious significance to the knife. In many cultures,
knife symbols can be found to symbolize stages in life. For example, the Anglo–Axons included knife symbols so that the dead would not be
defenseless in their next world. Another example, is that they would stick a knife into headboard of a cradle to protect the baby. In Greece, a
black–handled knife would be placed under the pillow to keep away nightmares. However, in other cultures, knives can be classified and recognized as
a weapon, and is something that should be kept clear of.
All traditions and customs aside, there are more to just cultural impacts. The art of "cutting" comes with a whole lot of opportunities, like fruit crafting,

Critique Essay of Process and Learning
Out of all the projects for this course, I think the critique paper was the hardest because it challenged how I thought about scientific journals when it
came to identifying weak parts of a study and how to critique the strengths and weaknesses within those articles in a scientific manner. As a result, my
writing process was affected by this in depth look into each of the three articles I chose on stroke rehabilitation with a focus on virtual reality, and my

For the proposal between my partner, Alicia Buettner, and I, we decided to find something that related to each of our health profession majors.
Our research for the proposal revealed the importance of occupational and physical therapists working together in the field and the changing
technology in prostheses within rehabilitation treatment. With both topics in mind, we chose to have our proposal addressing the need for
occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT) students working together in a class at the University of Findlay that also focused on
prostheses. After deciding on a topic for our proposal, the next step in the writing process was following the break down for each section of the
proposal that you, the professor, provided our peers and us in the classroom. By discussing the content required for each of the sections in the
proposal and the correct formats we were to be using during class time, my partner and I were able to gain a grasp on what you were requiring
from our proposal. For example, Alicia and I spent a great deal of time looking over the notes we wrote down from the board to make sure we were
following the correct guidelines for each section. The mini assignments also helped in reassuring that Alicia and I were on the correct path for the
proposal. With each

Essay about Sampling
Sampling
Carrying out a survey of every single potential consumer (known as population) of a firm's product would be impractical, time–consuming and costly.
Businesses still, however, need to collect enough primary data to have a clear idea of the views of consumers. This can be done by taking a sample of
the population. This sample group should be made up of consumers that are representative of all potential buyers of the product. There are a number of
ways in which a sample can be chosen.
Random Sampling
This method gives each member of a group an equal chance of being chosen. In other words, the sample is selected at random, rather like picking
numbers out of a hat. Today computers can...show more content...
So, if the business was interested in how 'class' affected consumers' demand for a food product, it might divide the population up into different class
groups, such as working class males, middle class females etc. A random sample could then be chosen from each of these groups by making sure that
they were the same proportions of the sample in each category as in population as a whole. So if the population had 10 per cent upper class males, so
would the sample.
Quota Sampling
This sampling method involves the population being segmented into a number of groups which share specific characteristics. These may be based
on the age and the sex of the population. Interviewers are then given targets for the number of people out of each segment who they must interview.
For example, and interviewer may be asked to interview 10 males between the ages of 18 and 25, or 15 females between the ages of 45 and 60. Once
the target is reached, no more people from that group are interviewed. The advantage of this sampling method is that it can be cheaper to operate than
many of the others. It is also useful where the proportions of the different groups within the population are known. However, results from quota
sampling are not statistically representative of the population and are not randomly chosen. They must therefore be treated with caution.
Cluster Sampling

The foundation of the German banking system is well developed. Germany was the first bureau in Europe, and joined the World Bank in 1952. Banks
in Germany are what holds the country's investment capital and are controlled by universal banks, which are able to offer a variety of banking, and

Bundesbank is the central bank of Germany and its obligation is to oversee economic growth, develop the banking and financial system and stability in
the economy. The central bank is who funds the government, and sets in motion the investment in the public sector. "With the desire of economic
growth, the central bank should attempt to maintain internal price stability, by adopting different interest rates (Bravenewcoin, 2017)".

Simple Subjectivism
In this essay I will talk about what simple subjectivism is and the problems of the impossibility of moral disagreement. First I will define ethical
subjectivism and the different version of subjectivism known as simple subjectivism. Then I will explain why simple subjectivism makes a
disagreement impossible. Lastly, I will explain why the consequence of simple subjectivism creates a problem for the moral judgement theory.
Ethical subjectivism is the theory that describes the nature of moral judgement; it is defined as our opinions based on our feeling and emotions.
However, Rachels believes that morality is concerned because there are no facts or objective truth in morality nor is there anyone right even when there
is available evidence. (Rachels 36). It is the different feelings that people have that creates the argument. Jerry Falwell...show more content...
(Rachels 37). In other words, our moral statements is based on how we behave regarding an issue. Simple subjectivism is open to several objections,
there are two main objections to simple subjectivism. First is that whenever someone is making a moral agreement, no one is ever right. The second is
that simple subjectivism makes disagreement impossible to argue. If we look back at this statement whether 'Homosexuality is immoral', there are
many who would disapprove of this statement and many would approve. Matt Foreman does not believe that homosexuality is immoral. It may look
that both Foreman and Falwell disagree but simple subjectivism says otherwise. According to simple subjectivism when foreman says that the
homosexuality is immoral, he stated only his attitude not a fact; he is just stating that he does not disapprove homosexuality. Falwell would agree that
Foreman does not disapprove homosexuality and Foreman would agree that Falwell does not approve

Sampling Methods Essay
Sampling is the framework on which any form of research is carried out. A suitable sample that meets the inclusion and exclusion criteria of a research
design must be chosen from a given population to carry out studies. In this essay comparison is made between stratified random sampling and
convenience sampling. The population on which the researcher is interested in carrying out his or her research may be too large, therefore a suitable
sample which can represent the population in correct proportion must be chosen. Restraints such as limitation of time, resources and many other factors
necessitate the selection of a sample for research purpose so that better quality data is obtained from it and that the researcher can make statement about

The methodological strength and weaknesses of this two sampling methods is discussed in terms of identifying the samples for research, the
representativeness it possesses to the general population, the methods and the outcome. Stratified random sampling is a probability sampling where the
selection of sampling unit is left to a random process, all units in the sample has an equal and non–zero chance of being selected on a probability
ground or chance and not on the choice or judgement of the researcher (Sim,J and Wright,C. 2000,). Convenience sampling is an example of non
probability sampling where the selection of the units is not by chance, rather it is dependent on the researcher's judgement, the researcher decides the
samples to be included in the study which may be subject to availability, time, individual preferences etc. The probability of selection of a particular
sampling unit may or may not be known. Stratified random sampling is commonly done in quantitative researches. When the samples reflect the
characteristics of the target population in the same proportion; assumptions can be made on generalizing the data acquired from these samples provided
it has been done correctly, since it is statistically representative (Sim,J and wright,C.,2000) but sampling error

Parenting Essay
Being a parent comes with a lot of responsibility and difficult decision making. You always have your child's best interest at heart, but sometimes
your child may disagree with the rules you have set down. That is why, I believe, the perfect parenting style is democratic. You can compromise with
your child, but still have basic rules you want them to follow, without them feeling targeted or that you are being unfair. When i become a parent, I
want to make sure my children have guidelines. I want them to be able to make their own mistakes and learn from them. Their health, their type of
entertainment and the toys they play with are three major, broad categories that I would like to have a say in, along with their input of course....show

That always worked on me, so hopefully they will pick up that trait. Another example of the democratic parenting style is when your teenager
wants to get a piercing or a tattoo. This subject is surprisingly easy for me to make rules upon. I would never tell my child not to get a piercing, but
I also would not give them consent. I know what it is like to have a mom who says no most of the time to everything. With my children, I do not
want to have to say no because that will make them want to do it even more. As long as I found the piercing or tattoo to be age appropriate and
small, I would not mind making an adjustment to their wishes as long as they made adjustments to mine. Secondly, what my children enjoy doing
in their spare time is not only a personal chioce, but an important aspect in anyones life. I would never tell my daughter she could not play hockey,
or my son that he could not dance. Even though I would not be a huge fan of my son dancing, it is his own decision and not mine to make.
Although I would control how much they play and where and when they play and everything that goes along with sports or clubs. Television shows
and movies are another thing that I have difficulty deciding where the line is for a certain age. Do I let my eight year old child watch 'Nightmare on
Elm Street'? No, I definitely do not. But I can give them the choice of watching Pokemon or Harry Potter. It is especially difficult once

Happiness is denoted by the way a person behaves. Usually when someone is happy it is obvious and they express this feeling outwardly, whether by
their actions or verbally. The facial area is the main part through which happiness is shown. The expressions of the face such as a twinkle in the eyes
when joyous, the ever–present laugh lines around the eyes, which constantly smile at you, makes the on–looker aware of a happy person. The mouth
plays an important role in showing that a person is content, through both physical and verbal means. The radiant smiles with the accompanying
dimple, spreads delight and pleasure. Laughter, a universal expression of joy, travels through the air spreading cheer to all that hear it. Other verbal
expressions of gaiety take the form of song singing, which has always been used over the years to express feelings of happiness, and exuberant chatter,
which infuses the air with excitement and enthusiasm. Physical expressions of joy are not limited to the facial area alone. Extending to the whole
body, happiness is shown through skipping, the swinging of hands, twirling, dancing and almost any rhythmic movement of the limbs. Children show
their happiness, mostly but not solely, by running, jumping, skipping and sometimes rolling on the ground. Adults are for the most part less energetic

What Makes A Person Beautiful?
There are many ways to define beauty, but I feel like society plays a huge role in how beauty is portrayed to women. I believe that society focuses
more on what a person looks like than what they actually do for society. What makes someone beautiful is what they have on the inside and who they
are. Qualities that beautiful people have are: kindness, honesty, respect, confidence, generosity, positivity, and willingness to help others when they are
in need. Society diminishes this ideal by telling people what is and what is not beautiful. What should make a person beautiful is how they treat people,
their poise, and how they give back to the community.
I feel as though what society puts in the media makes people feel undesirable; as though they are not accepted in society for meeting the expectations
society puts in the media. People such as BeyoncГ©, or Michelle Obama are viewed as "beautiful" in the American society. Society thinks women
should be skinny, with a perfect smile, tall, long hair, with large assets. Society shouldn 't only focus on how a person looks, but on the character of that
person, and how they treat others within their family or community. BeyoncГ© stated; "We all have our imperfections. But I 'm human, and you know,
it 's important to concentrate on other qualities besides outer beauty." I feel as though what BeyoncГ© stated here is that there is so much more to a
person than what they look like. Their contributions, personality, and how they make people

When my parents help me do my home works the help me how they were helped, they will try to explain the problems and If I don't get it they will

Simple Machines Essay

  • 1. Simple Machines Essay Engineers and scientists use scientific knowledge to design and build machines that make our lives easier. The machines they build today started off with the basics, which are known as Simple Machines. Simple Machines are defined as the simplest mechanisms that use mechanical advantage to multiply force. These machines have either few or no moving parts, and use energy to work. This term is usually referred to the six classical simple machines; lever, wheel and axle, pulley, inclined plane, a wedge and a screw. They make work easier for us by allowing us to push or pull over increased distances, and each have had an enormous impact the course of human civilization. Simple machines are the elementary basics of all complicated...show more content... In spite of all the negative impacts of knives mentioned above, there are also many positive impacts that follow them. Stainless steel is the most widely used material for the blade as it requires less maintenance and include very sharp edges, therefore making them easier to use. They don't impart any kind of "metal" flavor and are corrosion resistant. Stainless steel knives do not catch rust or stain, and do not require frequent sharpening. The knife has made a huge impact on humans in many ways, especially in ethical and cultural factors. As mentioned above, knives were the first among mankind's earliest inventions, meaning that many cultures have made and attached spiritual and religious significance to the knife. In many cultures, knife symbols can be found to symbolize stages in life. For example, the Anglo–Axons included knife symbols so that the dead would not be defenseless in their next world. Another example, is that they would stick a knife into headboard of a cradle to protect the baby. In Greece, a black–handled knife would be placed under the pillow to keep away nightmares. However, in other cultures, knives can be classified and recognized as a weapon, and is something that should be kept clear of. All traditions and customs aside, there are more to just cultural impacts. The art of "cutting" comes with a whole lot of opportunities, like fruit crafting, which Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Critique Essay Examples Critique Essay of Process and Learning Out of all the projects for this course, I think the critique paper was the hardest because it challenged how I thought about scientific journals when it came to identifying weak parts of a study and how to critique the strengths and weaknesses within those articles in a scientific manner. As a result, my writing process was affected by this in depth look into each of the three articles I chose on stroke rehabilitation with a focus on virtual reality, and my understanding of science writing grew with this paper. For the proposal between my partner, Alicia Buettner, and I, we decided to find something that related to each of our health profession majors. Our research for the proposal revealed the importance of occupational and physical therapists working together in the field and the changing technology in prostheses within rehabilitation treatment. With both topics in mind, we chose to have our proposal addressing the need for occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT) students working together in a class at the University of Findlay that also focused on prostheses. After deciding on a topic for our proposal, the next step in the writing process was following the break down for each section of the proposal that you, the professor, provided our peers and us in the classroom. By discussing the content required for each of the sections in the proposal and the correct formats we were to be using during class time, my partner and I were able to gain a grasp on what you were requiring from our proposal. For example, Alicia and I spent a great deal of time looking over the notes we wrote down from the board to make sure we were following the correct guidelines for each section. The mini assignments also helped in reassuring that Alicia and I were on the correct path for the proposal. With each Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Methodology of Research Essay examples Methodology of Research The method that I will be using to research my area of sociology will be a structured questionnaire, it will be structured so that the candidates stick to the questions that they are asked and do not write about irrelevant matters. I will first of all produce a pilot questionnaire and send it round to a test group of people, and hopefully see whether or not I am able to obtain the relevant information that I need for my research with the questions that I have asked my targeted group of people. I need to be able to define what I class as a working class household; which in my view is a family with either a mum or a dad or both that goes out to work and then comes home to look after that home and the family. Therefore I have asked questions to determine who in the household goes out to work and the sort of jobs that they do around the home. By asking these questions I feel that I will be able to differentiate between upper, lower and middle class households and therefore gather the information that I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Essay about Sampling Sampling Carrying out a survey of every single potential consumer (known as population) of a firm's product would be impractical, time–consuming and costly. Businesses still, however, need to collect enough primary data to have a clear idea of the views of consumers. This can be done by taking a sample of the population. This sample group should be made up of consumers that are representative of all potential buyers of the product. There are a number of ways in which a sample can be chosen. Random Sampling This method gives each member of a group an equal chance of being chosen. In other words, the sample is selected at random, rather like picking numbers out of a hat. Today computers can...show more content... So, if the business was interested in how 'class' affected consumers' demand for a food product, it might divide the population up into different class groups, such as working class males, middle class females etc. A random sample could then be chosen from each of these groups by making sure that they were the same proportions of the sample in each category as in population as a whole. So if the population had 10 per cent upper class males, so would the sample. Quota Sampling This sampling method involves the population being segmented into a number of groups which share specific characteristics. These may be based on the age and the sex of the population. Interviewers are then given targets for the number of people out of each segment who they must interview. For example, and interviewer may be asked to interview 10 males between the ages of 18 and 25, or 15 females between the ages of 45 and 60. Once the target is reached, no more people from that group are interviewed. The advantage of this sampling method is that it can be cheaper to operate than many of the others. It is also useful where the proportions of the different groups within the population are known. However, results from quota sampling are not statistically representative of the population and are not randomly chosen. They must therefore be treated with caution. Cluster Sampling

  • 11. Simple Subjectivism In this essay I will talk about what simple subjectivism is and the problems of the impossibility of moral disagreement. First I will define ethical subjectivism and the different version of subjectivism known as simple subjectivism. Then I will explain why simple subjectivism makes a disagreement impossible. Lastly, I will explain why the consequence of simple subjectivism creates a problem for the moral judgement theory. Ethical subjectivism is the theory that describes the nature of moral judgement; it is defined as our opinions based on our feeling and emotions. However, Rachels believes that morality is concerned because there are no facts or objective truth in morality nor is there anyone right even when there is available evidence. (Rachels 36). It is the different feelings that people have that creates the argument. Jerry Falwell...show more content... (Rachels 37). In other words, our moral statements is based on how we behave regarding an issue. Simple subjectivism is open to several objections, there are two main objections to simple subjectivism. First is that whenever someone is making a moral agreement, no one is ever right. The second is that simple subjectivism makes disagreement impossible to argue. If we look back at this statement whether 'Homosexuality is immoral', there are many who would disapprove of this statement and many would approve. Matt Foreman does not believe that homosexuality is immoral. It may look that both Foreman and Falwell disagree but simple subjectivism says otherwise. According to simple subjectivism when foreman says that the homosexuality is immoral, he stated only his attitude not a fact; he is just stating that he does not disapprove homosexuality. Falwell would agree that Foreman does not disapprove homosexuality and Foreman would agree that Falwell does not approve Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Sampling Methods Essay Sampling is the framework on which any form of research is carried out. A suitable sample that meets the inclusion and exclusion criteria of a research design must be chosen from a given population to carry out studies. In this essay comparison is made between stratified random sampling and convenience sampling. The population on which the researcher is interested in carrying out his or her research may be too large, therefore a suitable sample which can represent the population in correct proportion must be chosen. Restraints such as limitation of time, resources and many other factors necessitate the selection of a sample for research purpose so that better quality data is obtained from it and that the researcher can make statement about ...show more content... The methodological strength and weaknesses of this two sampling methods is discussed in terms of identifying the samples for research, the representativeness it possesses to the general population, the methods and the outcome. Stratified random sampling is a probability sampling where the selection of sampling unit is left to a random process, all units in the sample has an equal and non–zero chance of being selected on a probability ground or chance and not on the choice or judgement of the researcher (Sim,J and Wright,C. 2000,). Convenience sampling is an example of non probability sampling where the selection of the units is not by chance, rather it is dependent on the researcher's judgement, the researcher decides the samples to be included in the study which may be subject to availability, time, individual preferences etc. The probability of selection of a particular sampling unit may or may not be known. Stratified random sampling is commonly done in quantitative researches. When the samples reflect the characteristics of the target population in the same proportion; assumptions can be made on generalizing the data acquired from these samples provided it has been done correctly, since it is statistically representative (Sim,J and wright,C.,2000) but sampling error Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Parenting Essay Being a parent comes with a lot of responsibility and difficult decision making. You always have your child's best interest at heart, but sometimes your child may disagree with the rules you have set down. That is why, I believe, the perfect parenting style is democratic. You can compromise with your child, but still have basic rules you want them to follow, without them feeling targeted or that you are being unfair. When i become a parent, I want to make sure my children have guidelines. I want them to be able to make their own mistakes and learn from them. Their health, their type of entertainment and the toys they play with are three major, broad categories that I would like to have a say in, along with their input of course....show more content... That always worked on me, so hopefully they will pick up that trait. Another example of the democratic parenting style is when your teenager wants to get a piercing or a tattoo. This subject is surprisingly easy for me to make rules upon. I would never tell my child not to get a piercing, but I also would not give them consent. I know what it is like to have a mom who says no most of the time to everything. With my children, I do not want to have to say no because that will make them want to do it even more. As long as I found the piercing or tattoo to be age appropriate and small, I would not mind making an adjustment to their wishes as long as they made adjustments to mine. Secondly, what my children enjoy doing in their spare time is not only a personal chioce, but an important aspect in anyones life. I would never tell my daughter she could not play hockey, or my son that he could not dance. Even though I would not be a huge fan of my son dancing, it is his own decision and not mine to make. Although I would control how much they play and where and when they play and everything that goes along with sports or clubs. Television shows and movies are another thing that I have difficulty deciding where the line is for a certain age. Do I let my eight year old child watch 'Nightmare on Elm Street'? No, I definitely do not. But I can give them the choice of watching Pokemon or Harry Potter. It is especially difficult once Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It may perhaps be the most important feeling a person can have and it is the one feeling everyone strives to achieve, yet strangely, for the most part, people seem to only get a glimpse of it. Happiness is denoted by the way a person behaves. Usually when someone is happy it is obvious and they express this feeling outwardly, whether by their actions or verbally. The facial area is the main part through which happiness is shown. The expressions of the face such as a twinkle in the eyes when joyous, the ever–present laugh lines around the eyes, which constantly smile at you, makes the on–looker aware of a happy person. The mouth plays an important role in showing that a person is content, through both physical and verbal means. The radiant smiles with the accompanying dimple, spreads delight and pleasure. Laughter, a universal expression of joy, travels through the air spreading cheer to all that hear it. Other verbal expressions of gaiety take the form of song singing, which has always been used over the years to express feelings of happiness, and exuberant chatter, which infuses the air with excitement and enthusiasm. Physical expressions of joy are not limited to the facial area alone. Extending to the whole body, happiness is shown through skipping, the swinging of hands, twirling, dancing and almost any rhythmic movement of the limbs. Children show their happiness, mostly but not solely, by running, jumping, skipping and sometimes rolling on the ground. Adults are for the most part less energetic with their expressions of joy, and show their joy by twirling and dancing, mostly females, and by punching the air. I believe that society focuses more on what a person looks like than what they actually do for society. What makes someone beautiful is what they have on the inside and who they are. Qualities that beautiful people have are: kindness, honesty, respect, confidence, generosity, positivity, and willingness to help others when they are in need. Society diminishes this ideal by telling people what is and what is not beautiful. What should make a person beautiful is how they treat people, their poise, and how they give back to the community. I feel as though what society puts in the media makes people feel undesirable; as though they are not accepted in society for meeting the expectations society puts in the media. People such as BeyoncГ©, or Michelle Obama are viewed as "beautiful" in the American society. Society thinks women should be skinny, with a perfect smile, tall, long hair, with large assets. Society shouldn 't only focus on how a person looks, but on the character of that person, and how they treat others within their family or community. BeyoncГ© stated; "We all have our imperfections. But I 'm human, and you know, it 's important to concentrate on other qualities besides outer beauty." I feel as though what BeyoncГ© stated here is that there is so much more to a person than what they look like. Their contributions, personality, and how they make people Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. I Am A Simple Minded Person My life is sort of a puzzle, there were times when I realized what I was doing was not for the best of my interest and had to change them. I am a simple minded person. I like to do thing as simple as possible. When I was growing up my parents use to help me study and do my home works. When my parents help me do my home works the help me how they were helped, they will try to explain the problems and If I don't get it they will smack me on the head. It was not a great method but it worked. I started listening in class and try to understand everything before I get home so when my parent helps me do my homework I won't get smacked on the head. This cycle went on until I got to fourth grade, when my parent stopped helping me, they though they have guided me to the right path and they don't have to worry about me anymore. They assumed I will discern the right from wrong, how little they know. Leaving me to deal with my school work without any supervision is like unleashing a dog. I have all the freedom and none of the responsibility. What do you do when you have all the freedom you need? I'll tell you, you do whatever you desire. In my case it was not studying nor doing my homework. Middle school was easy even without studying I have a grade that made my parents proud. Because of the grade I was getting my parent though I was responsible enough to get a phone and anything else I wanted. As year passed by I started wanting a future and my teachers keep Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Wellesley College Admission Essay Sample Looking at "Wellesley 100", what impressed me at first glance was number 26, the impressive list of scientific equipment that are available at Wellesley College. Owing to my parents experience in the field of biomedicine and their influence on me, I have always been intrigued by the methodologies and types of equipment used to conduct the various scientific research that have built the field of biology and biomedicine. My fascination with research originates from the opportunity that I had to visit my father and his colleagues in a research facility in Beijing University, where my father's team were conducting research to test the result of a certain herbal medicine on rats. I was truly fascinated by the facility, the light microscopes, centrifuges,...show more content... In fact, art has always been an integral part my life. My journey with art started when I was still in Iran and my mother enlisted me in my first extracurricular art class. After moving to Beijing, the capital of China, I became fascinated with Chinese painting that is quite different from western paintings in both mediums and techniques. Thus, I had an opportunity to be trained in Chinese Gongbi and Shui–mo painting. In addition, when my journey brought me to the United States, I took advantage of the flexible high school schedule that I previously did not have and enrolled in a variety of art classes. I was able to produce my own short animation, explore different mediums such as watercolor, acrylic, and clay, learn to develop in the dark room what I photographed with my film camera, and create works of art such as sculptures and paintings, all of which have been displayed in my school's galleries. After my virtual tour of The Jewett Arts Center, I wishfully envision myself of walking down the halls and getting inspiration by the excellent variety of artworks. The art center resonates the promise that I can further explore my artistic abilities at Wellesley College and perhaps step out of my comfort zone and lead an unprecedented adventure with oil Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 20. Self Care Essay example Just to think about self care can be a task in itself. I never really thought it about it, to be honest, but it is an essential part of living. We get so busy and caught up living in our everyday lives that we forget about the most important part, ourselves. I have two young kids ages 3 and 5, so my focus is always to take care of them and make sure their needs are met, forgetting about myself along the way. I think this assignment will help me to appreciate and not take for granted the things that I know I need to do for myself and to show love to the most important person, me. Stress management and self–soothing techniques are critical for surviving modern work–no matter the focus of the work. Psychotherapists tend to disregard their...show more content... In class we discussed "saying no" being apart of our plans and I know that this is a must for me. At times I find myself running around like a chicken with its head cutoff. If only I had the courage to tell people no when I really need to the most. This will be tough for me but I know that it will help me have more time to do the things I love. Although there are several things on my list that I am cringing over I will give it my all. What better way to be a good therapist? Starting the process of self–care now will hopefully alleviate future problems that I could face. I embrace this experience to create more self–love within. Setting out with determination and a clear understanding of my plan will hopefully create the motivation that I need to complete my goals. Knowing how I am, I have to take this day–by–day. If I do miss a task, instead of beating up on myself as I usually do I will commit to that task the following day. Its not so much doing the tasks that I am worried about because everything on my list I appreciate, it is finding the time to fit it all in. I think what will motivate me is knowing that if I can't help and take care of myself then how can I take care of my future clients. My ultimate goal after attending Antioch is of course helping others better their lives so I think this plan will give me a jumpstart in helping myself first. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
