Effects Of Free College Tuition
Introducing free college tuition would have a positive impact of The United States, even so much as
two year associate s degree would have a hung impact. Free college tuition would give hope to the
families which can t afford the cost of tuition. Fran Cubberley states in his paper The reality of Free
Community College Tuition that 1,300 students who completed our entry process through course
registration ultimately dropped out before classes were underway. One of the major reasons was they
could not pay their tuition. Cost for tuition is huge factor on why people don t attend college. Just
think of all the amazing talent that the world is missing out on because people don t have the money to
attend college and get a degree or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They go on to state that The average cost for tuition and fees for a four year private college averaged
$19,710 that s a hung number to worry about on up of everything else a college student has to worry
about. There s a lot time that is devoted into studying and getting good grades which in return doesn t
leave a whole lot of time which can be devoted to work. The average time a student should study is
about two hours per week for each credit hour taken. For example if the student has 15 credit hours
that same student should expect to study for at least 30 hours per week which is practically equal to
another full time job.
In the United States there are already a few different states that are offering free college tuition. Those
states being, Rhode Island, Tennessee, San Francisco, New York, Oregon and a few others. Let s focus
on the state of San Francisco a little more. In the article San Francisco will offer free college tuition to
residents Amanda Hoover states, Mayor Ed Lee announced an agreement to budget $5.4 million in
tuition for the college Monday. Officials say that will cover tuition for current students and allow the
school to expand enrollment by 20 percent. Low income students who qualify will also see the cost of
their books covered in small grants. This will give hope to those which don t have enough money to

The Four Levels Of The Go Phonics
According to McGuinness and McGuinness (1999), phonemic awareness, alphabet code knowledge,
and an early start... are the three strongest determinants of future reading success (p. 10). Level one of
the Go Phonics curriculum covers the alphabetic principle by teaching students the relationship
between letter symbols and the sound they represent. Levels two and three of the curriculum focus
more on the concept of phonemic awareness. The concept of word families is prominent throughout
levels two and three. The Go Phonics curriculum teaches students the idea that once they know how to
decode the word pat , they will also be able to decode the words bat, sat, hat, and mat. Students could
also extend their abilities by manipulating the middle or ending parts of the word. For example, if the
student knows how to spell pat , they should also know how to spell pan or pot . ... Show more content

There are several rules introduced in these levels such as 1 1 1 rule, the FLOSS rule, and how to
determine the appropriate /k/ spelling. It is important for students to understand and apply rules in
order to decode and encode accurately. Without the proper introduction of phonics rules, students must
memorize whole words. This method of teaching is not ideal as students can only memorize so many
words. Before long, the student will encounter longer, tougher words and without knowledge of the
rules to aid in decoding, the student will struggle with both comprehension and

Visualization on how Self Handicapping Can Lead to Procrastination and Low Self Esteem
Self esteem is the central component of every individual s daily life experiences. Self esteem can be
defined as a person s evaluation of the self, e.g. I am not satisfied with me or I like me. We perform
self evaluations on ourselves everyday; it is a non conscious process where as only the individual
knows the end result. Important domains affect us, and unimportant domains do not (things tailored
specifically to the individual). When an individual experiences an emotional gut feeling , the
individual feels either good or bad about themselves. As human beings, we have a fundamental need
for motives of self inclusion (Franzoi 59). Self esteem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Procrastination is a form of self handicapping that can be applied to almost any aspect in one s life.
The most common thread of procrastination is fear; fear of failure, fear of unpleasant or painful
experiences, and the fear of missing out. When you fear failure you are prone to avoid involve
yourself to begin with. Out of the fear of failing and looking bad, they would often spend vast
amounts of time on a project without making any real progress because at a subconscious level they
don t want to finish a finished project will make them vulnerable for criticism and consequently
failure (Klassen et al. 918) If an procrastinator believes that a task is going to be an undesirable
experience then they will feel constrained not to do it. All these fears can lead a person to self
handicap. A lot of times, a person who might both self handicap and procrastinate, will use drugs
and/alcohol to utilize their actions; an example is drinking the night before an exam. This individual,
who chooses to go out before the exam, is giving themselves an excuse to why they will not do well
on this exam. This is an easy way for this person to maintain their self esteem level. Baumeister
allows me to introduce this concept (409)
Procrastination predicts higher levels of consumption of alcohol among those people who drink.
Procrastinators drink more than they intend to a manifestation of generalized

Hyperion And Keats Comparison
Hyperion, Keats shows a remarkable development of his thought about the art of writing and also
about the poet who is just like a type of healer to humankind. Keats begins to write Hyperion after
returning from Scotland to nurse his dying brother Tom who is suffering from painful tubercular. Tom
died on December 1818 and after this shocking event Keats is unable to make any appreciable
progress on Hyperion. So due to the emotional disturbance he isn t quite ready to write his epic. He
tries to continue the poem but he only gives the reason in his letters of not writing about it. He writes
to the George Keats that I went on with it a little last night but it will take some time to get into the
vein again (qtd. in Grant F. Scott 196). Keats ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

He exposes himself to actual experience in it due to this a tragic epic, Hyperion in comparison of
Keats others poems, expresses the poet s mature judgment regarding the presence of inescapable
suffering and struggle of human life. This chapter contends that these suffering and struggle are found
in the both poems of Hyperion and The Fall when Saturn is overthrown by his son Jupiter. He
becomes sad due to the loss of his power then Thea leads him to a place where the other Titans sit,
similarly miserable, and discuss whether they should fight back against their conquest by the new
gods the Olympians. Titans who rules to the Olympians, and are now destined to fall. They include
Saturn (king of the gods), Ops (his wife), Thea (his sister), Enceladus (god of war), Oceanus (god of
the sea), Hyperion (the god of the sun) and Clymene (a young goddess).Oceanus declares that he is
willing to surrender his power to the new god of the sea, Neptune because the old gods admit that their
successors are more beautiful and therefore better fitted to

The Importance Of Leadership In The Army
I had CQ this past weekend for 24hrs. I sent up an appointment for a tattoo that same day without even
realizing it. So I made a dumb decision I had one of my fellow battle buddies cover down for me.
While I went and got my tattoo for about three and a half hours. That took time away from my battle
buddy from his Saturday. It was wrong to ask him to do that and also it was wrong for me to leave my
post. My priorities were out of order I left my place of duty to get a tattoo. A future leader that I know
I can be can t be doing dumb stuff like that. While doing a job no one is perfect and everyone knows
that. To progress in the military you have to mold yourself as a leader. To separate yourself with your

decision I made on CQ made me open my eyes a lot. I could have lost my job in a way because I left
my post to do something that could have done another day. I was being none professional and
irresponsible with my job/duty and I swear it won t happen again. People think they can take
advantage of the system but that is wrong. Because I tried to do that and look where it got me I m here

getting an article 15. I say I got off easy even if this essay sucks on so many levels I m blessed to be
writing this. I know when I become a leader in the military or even before I become an NCO. I can
help guide soldiers in the right direction. To not guide them in the wrong path I was going that
direction but SFC Weaver is keeping me on track. I truly think he believes in me and see s something

GSA Schedule Contracts
A GSA Schedule contract is one of the most efficient business tools for almost all the small and
medium sized corporation in the US to get into federal marketing. Procuring a GSA Schedule contract
will allow the business companies to sell their government standard goods and services in the federal
market. Thus, by hiring the services of an eligible consultant will offer a huge GSA advantage to bag
the contracts. Since, such contracts promise to offer huge revenue, preparing the proposal demands
thorough market research and extensive knowledge about the GSA Schedule program. It is for this
reason, firms prefer to appoint a GSA consultant who would conduct research and create a business
proposal on their behalf. Prior to submission of a proposal, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Smooth negotiation of the contract terms
The financial conditions of a federal contract are consulted and negotiated with a contract professional
before a proposal is sanctioned. The negotiation process is not prohibitive, however the numerous
proposals acquired by a contracting officer clearly define that the firm is ready to carry on the
negotiation process in an easy manner. GSA consulting services enables the experienced and skilled
consultant to carry on the negotiation procedure which will; increase the option of getting the business
proposal sanctioned in the first take.
The GSA advisory firms provide consulting facilities to a large number of commercial and business
companies in the US and aid them to conduct sales with the government agencies. Procuring the
services of an advisor is considered the only best option to prepare a proposal and get it sanctioned

Ecological Problems Facing United States Today
There are many ecological problems facing us in the United States today. Among those issues includes
global warming, our dependence on fossil fuel, saving our endangered wildlife, and ensuring that we
have safe and sufficient water. There is one environmental issue, however, that streams across all these
areas, and threatens the safety of our country, and of many bodies of water all over the world, and that
is the issue of Oil Spills. An oil spill can be defined as, an unintentional release of crude oil or refined
oil products into the environment. Oil spills are considered to be a major source of chemical pollution.
Most of these spills occur through human error, however, there are cases where oil seeps through
deposits under the ocean floor. These spills can occur on land, in the ocean, and even when oil is
spilled down storm drains that lead directly into lakes and rivers. Not only do oil spills threaten to
destroy our ecosystem and endanger our wildlife, oil spills can be harmful to human beings as well.
The reason that this is so stems from the fact that oil itself is considered to be semi volatile. This
means that it can evaporate into the air and create a heavy vapor which lingers and can be breathed in
by humans, and can travel deeply into people s lungs. This can in turn cause many health issues such
as nausea, vomiting, headaches, and even difficulty breathing. Over an even longer period of time, the
chemicals that are found in oil, and that are evaporated into

Lactose Intolerance And Its Effects On The Body
Lactose intolerance occurs when the body is unable to properly digest foods which contain lactose.
Lactose is the sugar found in milk and foods made with milk. Lactase is the enzyme which is
produced in the small intestine, and people with lactose intolerance tend to have a deficiency in
lactase. Since lactase is produced in the small intestine, lactose intolerance affects the digestive system
and leaves people with symptoms which to their digestive tract. Lactose intolerance can also be
known as lactose malabsorption since the body does not properly digest lactose. Lactose intolerance is
normally harmless; however, the symptoms can be extremely uncomfortable to most people. The signs
and symptoms of lactose intolerance usually begin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it stays high enough to still digest the amount of dairy which is found in an adult diet. When
someone has primary lactose intolerance, the production of lactase falls off quickly and makes it
difficult to digest milk products by adulthood. Genetics determines if someone has primary lactose
intolerance. Primary lactose intolerance occurs in a copious amount of people with an African, Asian,
or Hispanic background. This disease is also very common in people who are of Mediterranean or
Southern European descent. The second type of lactose intolerance is called secondary lactose
intolerance. This type of lactose intolerance occurs when an illness, surgery or surgery involving the
small intestine causes the small intestine to decrease in lactase production. There are multiple different
diseases associated with secondary lactose intolerance including celiac disease, bacterial overgrowth,
and Crohn s disease. There s a possibility of restoring lactase levels and improving the symptoms or
signs by treating the underlying disorder; however, it could take some time after treating the disease
for lactase levels to increase. The last type of lactose intolerance is called congenital or developmental
lactose intolerance. Rarely, babies can be born with lactose intolerance which is caused when lactase
activity is completely absent. This disorder of being born lactose intolerant is passed from generation
to generation meaning is it also determined by genetics. The pattern

The Importance of Biological Factors in the Development of...
The Importance of Biological Factors in the Development of Gender Identity
The biosocial theory suggests that gender identity develops as a result of the obvious biological
differences between boys and girls and the hormonal differences between the sexes which can be
observed in the foetus from about six weeks (Durkin, 1995). Supporting evidence has been found
through animal studies, such as that by Young, Goy and Phoenix (1964) who gave testosterone to
pregnant monkeys and found that any female offspring were prone to be unusually aggressive.
Evidence is also found in case studies of humans. Imperato McGinley et al. (1974) studied a family in
the Dominican Republic in which four children were born ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This demonstrates the part played by both hormonal and psychological factors, working against
genetic factors , in the development of gender identity.
The sociobiological theory argues that males and females look and behave differently because they are
driven to behave in ways that maximise their chances to reproduce and pass on their genes. As females
produce a limited supply of eggs at some physical cost they must ensure that each reproduction is as
successful as possible by selecting a mate with good genes who can provide for them and their
offspring. In contrast, males produce large amounts of sperm at almost no physical cost and therefore
maximise their chances of passing on their genes through promiscuity. The sexy sons hypothesis
argues that females select males who posses characteristics which they would like their sons to inherit,
in order that the sons are selected as mates by other females, continuing the genetic line. The
handicapping theory suggests that females seek males with robust genes, demonstrated by the males
ability to sustain characteristics that incur a physiological cost, such as a peacock s elaborate tail.
Research evidence in support of the sociobiological theory includes Davis (1990) findings that men
advertising for a mate emphasise their wealth and other resources and women focus on their own
physical attractiveness. Cross cultural studies,

Incest in Greek Mythology Essay
Incest in Greek Mythology
Incest in Greek mythology was a common occurrence. Part of the reason is that the gods themselves
set the example, and since everything that happened in society was the result of the passion of the
gods, this, of course, gave the characters in the Greek plays the opportunity to also lust after their
children and relatives. While the story of Oedipus the King is the delineating play on the subject,
Greek mythology is full of incestuous relationships.
The gods who inspired the love and hate relationships among families include Hermes, who used his
magical use of language to lure the feelings of his brother Apollo away from jealousy to love. Hermes
reward was divination, and he became the god ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hermaphroditus is the child of Zeus, Aphrodite, Athene, and Poseidon, and therefore cursed with
being its own lover (Sharman Burke and Greene 82). In addition to these incestuous relationships, are
relationships that Zeus has with his children. For example, Dionysus is attached to his thigh.
Among mortals lives that were influenced by Zeus, Agamemnon and Clytemnestra, husband and wife,
were the children of Zeus and Leda. Although they had different earthly fathers, the incestuous
relationship between Agamemnon and Clytemnestra brought a curse upon their house for two
generations. It was finally destroyed by Orestes, their youngest son, whom Justice allowed to go free.
Agamemnon was particularly cursed, although he was the victor at Troy. The reason for this curse is
that Agamemnon and Clytemnestra, and Agamemnon s earthly father Atreus were in the habit of
eating and sacrificing their own children to appease the gods. But the imagery created by Aeschylus of
these acts of sacrifice is also that of incestuous acts and their consequences. Aeschylus writes in
Agamemnon, Look! See them sit, there on the wall, like forms in dreams, / Children butchered like
lambs by their own kindred. [1219 1220] The reason that Aeschylus portrays the children as sitting is
because Agamemnon was sitting at the meal in which Atreus served up the flesh of his son for

Intolerance Of Ambiguity
Current events in our nation, and around the world, have provoked much distress and sadness for
many of us. It is understandable that many people are struggling to make sense of the most recent,
horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas. In the aftermath of these horrific shootings, we do everything we
can to soothe ourselves, and each other, by creating assurance and meaning. For some of us, our hearts
take the lead, allowing for emotions to be felt including sadness, confusion and even rage. For others,
our heads take the lead, we try to analyze the situation or the individual to make sense of the
insensible. By examining and understanding facets like tolerance of ambiguity and meaning
maintenance model, helping professionals can better understand a person s psyche, help educate the
community at large, and help foster healing from painful events. Frenkel Brunswik set out to
understand tolerance of ambiguity, concluding that tolerance of ambiguity is multi faceted, predictive
variable examined in behavioral settings, an emotional and perceptual personality variable (Frenkel
Brunswik, 1949). Additionally, Frenkel Brunswik outlined several features of intolerance of
ambiguity, including seeking for certainty, rigid dichotomizing into fixed categories, black white view
of life, and an inability for both good and bad traits to exist in a person (Frenkel Brunswik, 1949). By
understanding the various facets of intolerance of ambiguity, counselors can identify these patterns in

Some researches argued that case study method does not provide the complete picture and provides a
weak reference (Luck, Jackson, Usher, 2006) (Meyer, 2001) (Thomas, 2010) (Tight, 2010). To address
the problem raised by some researches, the study uses multiple case studies with different scenarios in
the media industry i.e. two different issues in the organization and how managers and team responded
to the problem. Using multiple cases provides richer data, more insights and key knowledge points
that sometimes are missed or overlooked in the first case (Bhattacherjee, 2012). Similarly, the
generalizability can be improved by performing the two different case studies under the same neutral
settings. It helps to come to conclusions and findings in a comprehensive way (Bhattacherjee, 2012).
Three interviews per case are conducted involving an expert and manager involved in the Business

A Literary Analysis Of Kathleen Bowen s The Demon Lover
What Drove Her? In The Demon Lover, Kathleen Drover is the protagonist and represents a British
wife and mother who returned from the country to her war ravaged home in London hoping to retrieve
some of her family s personal belongings. Mrs. Drover s story unfolds as a haunting of supernatural
means driven by the ghost of her sweetheart, an un named soldier presumed to have been killed during
World War I twenty five years earlier. The dark imagery of the story is craft fully controlled by Bowen
and fosters a heavy sense of circumstance, anxiety, and even ambiguity, which transports the reader
through nightmarish stages of suspense and ultimately horror. The tone of The Demon Lover is
initially set by Bowen as Drover returns to her abandoned, gloomy, London street in anticipation of a
quick gathering of personal belongings from her boarded up, delapitated former home. As a
depressing back drop to an even heavier story, the war blitzed city provides the mood of eeriness,

bruise in the wallpaper assumes a damaged position and a haunting significance. The ambiguity of
Bowen s ending of The Demon Lover fits perfectly as the final destination of Drover s taxi ride is
uncertain, but Bowen s imagery throughout the story emphasizes the idea that through descriptive

Testing Of Faith Research Paper
The devil is always roaming the world to tempt us and to sabotage our faith in God, but God uses
multiple test to develop our faith in Him. We as human being must be tested by faith in order for God
to trust us with His word. False faith fails in times of us been tested in our trial, but crazy faith helps
us to grow and mature in areas to edify God s Kingdom. This clarifies why God authorized the three
black Hebrew men who names were, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to be tested by their faith.
God also consented for them to be thrown into the fiery furnace for their faith to be developed. In 1
Peter 1:7 says, These have come so that your faith of greater worth than gold, which perishes even

This word does not mean a helper, worker, nor servant it is simple means someone who owns an
individual. When I look at the word slave it is describes as an insecure person that is in a dark place
and looking for a way out to be free. It is also a cruel, oppressive, and a person that is held hostage
from being happy. In I Corinthians 7:21 Were you a slave when you were called? Don t let it trouble
you although if you can gain your freedom, do so. (NIV) This scripture is letting the reader know that
every human being on this planet have an opportunity to be free. In order to be free you must be
accordance with the Word of God. No person should remain in such a condition that causes them to
die mental and physically. Jesus Christ has given man and woman a chance to be free of this world
and to be able to be free you must Seek God with all your heart, might and all of your soul. In
Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. God will do just that
and if the people will be a slave for Christ then all of their bitterness, hate, discomfort, unforgiveness
will no longer be a slave to the devil. God is the creator of the universe and He keep His promises to
human kind and His Word never failed them. When humankind obey His Word and become His slave

Galileo s Letter To The Grand Duchess Christina

Galileo Galilei, Letter to the Grand Duchess Christina
Galileo was an astronomer, mathematician, and an Italian physicist. In the early 1600s, he was the
greatest European scientist (The Human Record, 41). Galileo Galilei was also a devout Catholic.
Galileo wrote the letter, The Grand Duchess of Tuscany, in 1615. This letter defends his approach to
science and religion in a published letter addressed to the Grand Duchess Christina (The Human
Record, 41). From my reading, Grand Duchess Christina seemed as if she was a person of high
authority so he addressed the letter to her. With all of his knowledge and skills, he developed new
ideas as well as new discoveries. Galileo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As stated in the book, His public support of Copernicus disturbed Catholic theologians, who were
convinced it undermined correct belief and the authority of the church (The Human Record, 41). So,
therefore these new findings of ideas did not agree with the way the Catholic Church was organized or
the power of which the church held. Copernicus created this theory that was supported by Galileo.
This theory argued about what was at the center of the universe, which was not the earth, but it was
the sun (The Human Record, 41). Finding new discoveries regarding science was the idea Copernicus
had in mind. He wanted people to become more interested in finding things as if they were scientist
like himself. On the other hand, Galileo wanted people to stop including the bible into scientific
findings. One of Galileo s findings as stated in the book, I hold the sun to be situated motionless in the
center of the revolution of the celestial orbs while the Earth rotates on its axis and revolves about the
sun (The Human Record, 42). Galileo made an attempt to explain that his findings do not discredit the
religion or the church. He just believed that religion and science could

Analysis Of Charles Berger s Uncertainty Reduction Theory
Charles Berger, a communication theorist coined the term Uncertainty Reduction Theory in 1975. This
theory discusses that when people meet one of their first concerns is to reduce uncertainty about the
other person and the situation. Berger uses eight axioms, verbal communication, nonverbal warmth,
information seeking, self disclosure, reciprocity, similarity, liking, and shared networks to discuss the
connection between these axioms and reducing uncertainty (Griffin, E., Ledbetter, A., Sparks G,
2015). Berger and Calabrese s (1975) Uncertainty Reduction Theory has basic assumptions that when
strangers meet, their primary concern is one of uncertainty reduction or increasing predictability about
the behavior of both themselves and others in the interaction (p. 100). A video interview with Charles
Berger and Em Griffin discusses Uncertainty Reduction Theory and what it means to Berger. In the
video, Berger states that the theory deliberates the struggles that people go through in their lives to
adjust to the changing world around them. One of the main struggles people face is that uncertainty is
always there, especially in a new situation. Berger states, if we re going to act in ways that will
achieve our desired goals that is, we ll get what we want we have to be able to anticipate, to be able to
predict what the physical world is going to do and what the people in it are going to do ( A First

Agnes De Mille Research Paper
Agnes De Mille the American Ballet
Born September 18th, 1905, Agnes de Mille is often credited with transforming the American musical
theater during the 1940s and 1950s ( Agnes de Mille ). De Mille is a uniquely American
choreographer, with her most notable work showcasing traditional American history and movement at
a time when traditional American forms were considered outdated and out of touch by their trendy
Russian and European counterparts (Reprieve 16). De Mille, however, when asked if she felt that she
was helping to create a more American style of dance, answered that she was merely making America
more conscious of dance (Source). None the less, De Mille paved the way for American ballet in the

De Mille felt that dance should behave in relation to the world around it; that dance should not be
ambiguous and abstract, but accessible and understandable (Acocella). De Mille s choreography
followed a narrative form and featured overt aspects of American culture; consequently, her work
carried the potential for easy consumption by an American audience. One critic wrote of her work,
...Full of fire, even funny, and entirely free of swans! (Acocella). De Mille s works was refreshing in
that, unlike more classical, abstract ballet, it did not perpetuate the artistic traditions of another nation
s culture; instead, it paved the way for the creation of our own artistic traditions. Ultimately, De Mille
believed that the movement of dance should tell a story, and that story was often one depicting

Sand Castles
Sand Castles For our final discussion, I choose Sand Castles, written by Joseph Szewczyk (author of
the textbook modules we ve read this semester) and Jackie Schill. Eleven illustrations make up the
work. Aside from a few words hidden in the imagery s background, the only formal text is in the last
panel, referring to Michelle Wright who died in 2001, just shy of her 31st birthday. I spent time
searching online obituaries trying to discover more about this young woman, but was not able to find
any information about her. She must have had some connection to Szewczyk and/or Schill. This is a
sad, forlorn piece that required looking carefully at each image for clues. At first glance, the cover
illustration appears to be a woman applying makeup. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first panel, she is blind, making her way down the street with a cane. Behind her is a crumbled
wall with graffiti on it saying, The war is over . To me, this represents the loss of a struggle, a
foretelling of Michelle s demise. Perhaps going blind was the final stage of her illness. The remaining
images are Michelle s memories as a child, as a dancer, and her lifelong struggle with self image. In
one panel, she s watching her mother use makeup, in another, her mother is angry seeing Michelle
play with makeup. One panel shows an anorexic teenager, hidden in the background are the words
Perfection and So thin I c[ould] disappear . Next to this image sits a bald, depressed figure, no doubt a
result of the cancer/chemotherapy drugs shown in the foreground. These are all clues, leading up to
the final image in the mortuary where Michelle appears with beautiful flowing hair and a serene
expression. I m not sure what the story s overarching message is. It might be that in the end, she
achieved the beauty she always sought, or perhaps the story speaks to the broader issue of the
sexualization of women. Looking back on her life, Michelle s strongest memories are of how she
looked, not what she had accomplished. The story left me feeling

Enzyme Biological Systems By Speeding Up The Chemical...
Enzymes catalyze biological systems by speeding up the chemical reactions included. Enzymes
developed from the peroxidase that is obtained from the different roots reacts with the hydrogen
peroxide, which releases H2 and water. The extra hydrogen is indicated by the color change of the
solution that is used to measure the rate of enzyme activity. When the rate of enzyme activity was
high, the activity always occurred in the roots in the beginning stages of their development. However,
when the rate of enzyme activity was low during the roots development, sucrose was present. Sucrose
was not present in roots when the tissues consisted of high activities of acid invertase. Radish roots
proved to have the rate of enzyme of activity remained high until maturity and showed to not have
considerable amounts of sucrose. In addition, radish roots can be seen to have similar rate of enzyme
activity when compared to the turnip roots because these roots also maintained a high enzyme activity
until maturity and did not have considerable amounts of sucrose. Both roots, as a result, reduced
sugars being the main reserve. Through the experiment having to do with sugar accumulation and
invertase activity during the development of turnip and radish roots, it was observed that these
matured roots consumed higher amounts of reducing sugars than sucrose (Ricardo, 1974). In addition,
similar changes in sugar content to the turnip roots, invertase activity and dry weight were also

The Territorial Dispute Of China
We must first ask ourselves what is the territorial dispute, that we have today and why is it important
to understand this dispute and learn about it, as political analysts we must learn to look at the broader
picture that is given to us, and take a look at all aspects before formulating a contingency plan to avoid
any unnecessary military actions or starting a war.
Referring to the map we see what China claims as their territory, we see the area defined by the
dashed lines, which stretches hundreds of miles all the way south and east from Chinas most southern
province of Hainan. Now China claims that this territory it claims comes from 2000 years of history
where the small islands of Paracels and Spratlys have been regarded as an integral part of China. That
is because China has a strong sense of irredentism towards the South China Sea. Irredentism is any
movement to reclaim a land that was once theirs, by justifying that the land or territory they want to
reclaim has always been theirs and it is only right to have it back citing either real or imagined historic
events or tying it with an ethnic affiliation. Today the South China Sea has become more and more of
a global issue, with the U.S navy presence the increasing demands of natural resources is also a key
factor as to why a country such as China wants to claim the South China Sea. China depends heavenly
on gas and oil, and the notion of unclaimed land and resources in the South China Sea is too great of
deal to

Complexity theory is a subset of chaos theory, it focuses...
Complexity theory is a subset of chaos theory, it focuses on how groups of living things behave. It s
primary advancement came through its application in biology with the pursuit for an explanation
regarding the evolutionary complexity of living organisms (5). Mikulecky in The emergence of
complexity: science coming of age or science growing old? offers a concise definition of complexity:
Complexity is the property of a real world system that is manifest in the inability of any one
formalism being adequate to capture all its properties (1). This carries major implications in the ability
of project managers to follow through on each project parameter. Complexity theory aims to define
how order and patterns arise out of seemingly chaotic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patrick Weaver in A Simple View of Complexity in Project Management identifies two primary
attributes of the social network, referred to as social capital: the knowledge required to deliver the
project outcome and the willingness to achieve the project outcome. Further details regarding these
notions and their application can be seen in the section Complexity theory for Project Management.
Chaos theory, traditionally, is a field of applied mathematics that studies the dynamic nature of
systems that are sensitive to initial conditions. The most famous case of this involves computer
simulated weather predictions by Edward Lorenz in 1960 at the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology. Here Lorenz discovered that minute changes to initial conditions introduced major and
unpredictable consequences to the weather system this became known as the butterfly effect. A
fundamental premise of chaos theory is that if there is only a finite amount of information about a
particular system, then at some point the system will no longer be predictable. Thus, chaos theory
focuses on how simple systems give rise to complicated and unpredictable behavior whereas
complexity theory focuses on how systems consisting of many elements lead to well organized and
predictable behavior. Due to this, chaos and complexity should be viewed as complementary ideas in
order to fully influence different thought processes as to how organizations and

Is Paul A Good Writer
Is Paul a good writer? is a very interesting question. When we say good writer are we talking about his
skills in the language he used to write (Greek) or are we asking the question if his writings made any
difference in people s lives during his time as well our time. Basing on what we know about Paul s
education with or during the time of Gamaliel in Jerusalem 1 one can argue Paul well educated to
write. Paul s pastoral ministry resulted in planting the churches and equipping leaders for the ministry
in his time and continues to guide us in our current ministry. Therefore, I can say with confidence Paul
indeed is a good writer. However, we still have to consider some facts scholars have been working
hard to bring to our attention. Traditionally, the church had simply assumed that any letter containing
Paul s name as a sender was actually written by him. Of the 27 books in the New Testament, 14 have
been attributed to Paul; 7 of these are widely considered authentic and Paul s own, while the
authorship of the other 7 is disputed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

gain immediate credibility for one s thoughts and document; and (2) to update Paul for a new time and
situation, so that Paul s themes and basic theological commitments could address new people and new

Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Articles Of Confederation
The articles of Confederation had many faults and weaknesses. Firstly, it had a unicameral legislature
to one vote per state. A 2/3 majority needed to pass legislation and vote to amend Articles. The
unicameral legislature left the states with one legislative or parliamentary chamber. This left the 13
states and the central government with no separation of powers. The central government had no
national executive or court system. Along with those problems the central government had no power

In order to pass any major laws they needed 9 of the 13 states to approve which was very difficult. I
believe the Articles were created weak because many of the states and citizens believed and felt that

British rule. In essence the Articles created a loose confederation of individual states. The government
had little power over the states which they keep to themselves. With no power to raise funds by taxes
the government could not raise an army. Or even regulate monies by creating universal money; they
couldn t regulate trade between states or even to other countries. This also led to poor foreign

Emerson Materialism
When did materialism become such a deeply ingrained part of man s sense of self? Since the dawn of
time mankind has had an almost carnal desire to possess the unattainable. To conquer and claim
without much regard to moral obligation. To control and take whenever and whatever they pleased
without much consequence. Mankind is grappling with what it means to have a sense of self, because
essentially, you are what you own in modern society. Famed writer and poet Ralph Waldo Emerson

Laniak s Shepherds After My Own Heart Summary
I read the assigned reading from Laniak s Shepherds After My Own Heart with great interest. The
author does not waste time and starts by giving the reader a through overview of the historical context
of the shepherd motif in the ancient world. This concept is grounded in the cultural traditions of the
ancient near east world. After a lengthy exposition of the shepherd role in the ancient world, the author
gives of a thorough explanation of the role the shepherd motif played in the Old and New Testament.

and John portraits the good shepherd as the self sacrificing shepherd (Laniak 2006: 25).
Many Christians have read both testament where the metaphor shepherd have been used to indicate
the leadership of the kings and spiritual leaders of Israel. But many have not stop to think why the
image of the shepherd found its way in the Bible. The fact that many of the ancient near east people

Allende based his campaign around the unfairness of Chile s society to the working class, and the

two revolutions which were supposed to compliment each other actually start to work against each
other. The first type of revolution is the revolution from below , which is characteristic of the workers
in the Yarur rebelling against the Chilean government. The other type is the revolution from above ,
this was the revolution common of the higher class like Allende working towards workers rights. At
first, the workers think that their revolution from below was only helping Allende s revolution from

against the mill in order to gain complete control over it. Strikes had happened before which were
about things like wages or unions, but this was different for the fact that they wanted total control of
the mill. Allende was forced to give the workers the power to control the mill. This is just one of the
examples of how the revolution from below sometimes coincided with or complemented, but
increasingly diverged from, the legalistic and modulated revolution from above (141). For the most

Iran Pros And Cons
Under Supreme Leader Khamenei; moderate President Rafsanjani; and reformists President Khatami,
the Iran nuclear program received support in the 1990s from China, Russia, and the A.Q. Khan
network. China and Iran signed an agreement in 1990 and subsequently imported a metric ton of
uranium hexafluoride, a feed gas for gas centrifuges, from China in 1991. According to certain
safeguard agreements in place, Iran was supposed to report the transfer to the IAEA but they did not.
However, support from the Chinese stopped in 1992 after China joined the Nuclear Suppliers Group
and succumbed to U.S. pressures. These measures forced the Iranians to seek assistance from the A.Q.
Khan network again; therefore, Iran purchased more drawings and components for 500 P 1 centrifuges
and drawings for the upgraded P 2 centrifuges. Russia also supported the Iranian nuclear program in
the 1990s. In the mid 1990s, picking up where the Germans left ... Show more content on

According to the official White House website, Iran currently has two means to produce a nuclear
weapon, which are highly enriched uranium (HEU) and plutonium. Assuming there are no other secret
facilities, uranium is currently produced at Natanz and FFEP, while plutonium is produced at Arak.
The website also mentions that Iran currently possesses enough HEU to produce eight nuclear bombs,
and that it possesses 20,000 centrifuges between the previously mentioned Natanz and FFEP sites. The
deal requires Iran to reduce its HEU levels by 98% and maintain the levels at or below the 3.67%
while reducing the number of centrifuges to 6,104 for at least the next 10 years. Additionally, the deal
addresses concerns about future secret facilities, specifying that Iran is subject to exceptionally
vigorous monitoring, verification, and inspection measures as well as allowing the IAEA access to any
suspected nuclear

Low Carb diets are Reckless and Dangerous?
The Medical and sports nutrition establishment are horrified by the concept of low carbohydrate and
ketogenic diets. While studies are being released almost daily proving the superiority of low carb diets
for fat loss, the medical establishment warns against trying them as the long term health risks are
unknown . Apparently it is a case of better the devil you know than the devil you don t .
Dangerous because we don t know IF they re safe
This fence sitting attitude is an absolutely inexcusable disgrace! The devil we know a devil only
revealed as a result of the high carb recommendations is epidemic levels of obesity, diabetes, cancer,
heart disease and depression. Is there any possibility of the unknown risk being worse than the
sickness that the health department recommendations have caused? I think not!
There Might be Side Effects
It is the most patronising hypocrisy that the Medical community warn against using a treatment (low
carb dieting) PROVEN to cure a disease state

Free college tuition would give hope to the families which can t afford the cost of tuition. Fran Cubberley states in his paper The reality of Free Community College Tuition that 1,300 students who completed our entry process through course registration ultimately dropped out before classes were underway. One of the major reasons was they could not pay their tuition. Cost for tuition is huge factor on why people don t attend college. The average time a student should study is about two hours per week for each credit hour taken. For example if the student has 15 credit hours that same student should expect to study for at least 30 hours per week which is practically equal to another full time job. In the United States there are already a few different states that are offering free college tuition. Those states being, Rhode Island, Tennessee, San Francisco, New York, Oregon and a few others. Let s focus on the state of San Francisco a little more. In the article San Francisco will offer free college tuition to residents Amanda Hoover states, Mayor Ed Lee announced an agreement to budget $5.4 million in tuition for the college Monday. The Four Levels Of The Go Phonics According to McGuinness and McGuinness (1999), phonemic awareness, alphabet code knowledge, and an early start... are the three strongest determinants of future reading success (p. 10). Level one of the Go Phonics curriculum covers the alphabetic principle by teaching students the relationship between letter symbols and the sound they represent. Levels two and three of the curriculum focus more on the concept of phonemic awareness. The concept of word families is prominent throughout levels two and three. The Go Phonics curriculum teaches students the idea that once they know how to decode the word pat , they will also be able to decode the words bat, sat, hat, and mat. Students could also extend their abilities by manipulating the middle or ending parts of the word. This method of teaching is not ideal as students can only memorize so many words. Visualization on how Self Handicapping Can Lead to Procrastination and Low Self Esteem Self esteem is the central component of every individual s daily life experiences. Self esteem can be defined as a person s evaluation of the self, e.g. I am not satisfied with me or I like me. We perform self evaluations on ourselves everyday; it is a non conscious process where as only the individual knows the end result. Important domains affect us, and unimportant domains do not (things tailored specifically to the individual). Procrastination is a form of self handicapping that can be applied to almost any aspect in one s life. The most common thread of procrastination is fear; fear of failure, fear of unpleasant or painful experiences, and the fear of missing out. When you fear failure you are prone to avoid involve yourself to begin with. Out of the fear of failing and looking bad, they would often spend vast amounts of time on a project without making any real progress because at a subconscious level they don t want to finish a finished project will make them vulnerable for criticism and consequently failure (Klassen et al. 918) If an procrastinator believes that a task is going to be an undesirable experience then they will feel constrained not to do it. All these fears can lead a person to self handicap. A lot of times, a person who might both self handicap and procrastinate, will use drugs and/alcohol to utilize their actions; an example is drinking the night before an exam. This individual, who chooses to go out before the exam, is giving themselves an excuse to why they will not do well on this exam. This is an easy way for this person to maintain their self esteem level. Tom died on December 1818 and after this shocking event Keats is unable to make any appreciable progress on Hyperion. So due to the emotional disturbance he isn t quite ready to write his epic. He tries to continue the poem but he only gives the reason in his letters of not writing about it. Not only do oil spills threaten to destroy our ecosystem and endanger our wildlife, oil spills can be harmful to human beings as well. The reason that this is so stems from the fact that oil itself is considered to be semi volatile. This means that it can evaporate into the air and create a heavy vapor which lingers and can be breathed in by humans, and can travel deeply into people s lungs. This can in turn cause many health issues such as nausea, vomiting, headaches, and even difficulty breathing. The Importance of Biological Factors in the Development of Gender Identity The biosocial theory suggests that gender identity develops as a result of the obvious biological differences between boys and girls and the hormonal differences between the sexes which can be observed in the foetus from about six weeks (Durkin, 1995). Supporting evidence has been found through animal studies, such as that by Young, Goy and Phoenix (1964) who gave testosterone to pregnant monkeys and found that any female offspring were prone to be unusually aggressive. Evidence is also found in case studies of humans. Imperato McGinley et al. (1974) studied a family in the Dominican Republic in which four children were born ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This demonstrates the part played by both hormonal and psychological factors, working against genetic factors , in the development of gender identity. The sociobiological theory argues that males and females look and behave differently because they are driven to behave in ways that maximise their chances to reproduce and pass on their genes. As females produce a limited supply of eggs at some physical cost they must ensure that each reproduction is as successful as possible by selecting a mate with good genes who can provide for them and their offspring. In contrast, males produce large amounts of sperm at almost no physical cost and therefore maximise their chances of passing on their genes through promiscuity. The sexy sons hypothesis argues that females select males who posses characteristics which they would like their sons to inherit, in order that the sons are selected as mates by other females, continuing the genetic line. The handicapping theory suggests that females seek males with robust genes, demonstrated by the males ability to sustain characteristics that incur a physiological cost, such as a peacock s elaborate tail. Research evidence in support of the sociobiological theory includes Davis (1990) findings that men advertising for a mate emphasise their wealth and other resources and women focus on their own physical attractiveness. Part of the reason is that the gods themselves set the example, and since everything that happened in society was the result of the passion of the gods, this, of course, gave the characters in the Greek plays the opportunity to also lust after their children and relatives. While the story of Oedipus the King is the delineating play on the subject, Greek mythology is full of incestuous relationships. Among mortals lives that were influenced by Zeus, Agamemnon and Clytemnestra, husband and wife, were the children of Zeus and Leda. Although they had different earthly fathers, the incestuous relationship between Agamemnon and Clytemnestra brought a curse upon their house for two generations. It was finally destroyed by Orestes, their youngest son, whom Justice allowed to go free. Agamemnon was particularly cursed, although he was the victor at Troy. The reason for this curse is that Agamemnon and Clytemnestra, and Agamemnon s earthly father Atreus were in the habit of eating and sacrificing their own children to appease the gods. But the imagery created by Aeschylus of these acts of sacrifice is also that of incestuous acts and their consequences. Aeschylus writes in Agamemnon, Look! See them sit, there on the wall, like forms in dreams, / Children butchered like lambs by their own kindred. Mikulecky in The emergence of complexity: science coming of age or science growing old? offers a concise definition of complexity: Complexity is the property of a real world system that is manifest in the inability of any one formalism being adequate to capture all its properties (1). This carries major implications in the ability of project managers to follow through on each project parameter. Complexity theory aims to define how order and patterns arise out of seemingly chaotic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Patrick Weaver in A Simple View of Complexity in Project Management identifies two primary attributes of the social network, referred to as social capital: the knowledge required to deliver the project outcome and the willingness to achieve the project outcome. Further details regarding these notions and their application can be seen in the section Complexity theory for Project Management. Chaos theory, traditionally, is a field of applied mathematics that studies the dynamic nature of systems that are sensitive to initial conditions. The most famous case of this involves computer simulated weather predictions by Edward Lorenz in 1960 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Here Lorenz discovered that minute changes to initial conditions introduced major and unpredictable consequences to the weather system this became known as the butterfly effect. A fundamental premise of chaos theory is that if there is only a finite amount of information about a particular system, then at some point the system will no longer be predictable. Thus, chaos theory focuses on how simple systems give rise to complicated and unpredictable behavior whereas complexity theory focuses on how systems consisting of many elements lead to well organized and predictable behavior. Due to this, chaos and complexity should be viewed as complementary ideas in order to fully influence different thought processes as to how organizations and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Is Paul A Good Writer Is Paul a good writer? is a very interesting question. When we say good writer are we talking about his skills in the language he used to write (Greek) or are we asking the question if his writings made any difference in people s lives during his time as well our time. Basing on what we know about Paul s education with or during the time of Gamaliel in Jerusalem 1 one can argue Paul well educated to write. Paul s pastoral ministry resulted in planting the churches and equipping leaders for the ministry in his time and continues to guide us in our current ministry. Therefore, I can say with confidence Paul indeed is a good writer. However, we still have to consider some facts scholars have been working hard to bring to our attention. Traditionally, the church had simply assumed that any letter containing Paul s name as a sender was actually written by him. Of the 27 books in the New Testament, 14 have been attributed to Paul; 7 of these are widely considered authentic and Paul s own, while the authorship of the other 7 is disputed. ... A 2/3 majority needed to pass legislation and vote to amend Articles. The unicameral legislature left the states with one legislative or parliamentary chamber. This left the 13 states and the central government with no separation of powers. The central government had no national executive or court system. Along with those problems the central government had no power to collect taxes, raise an army, or even regulate trade. With one vote per state to change or amend the Articles a unanimous agreement. I believe the Articles were created weak because many of the states and citizens believed and felt that they were separate entities. They were suspicious of a strong central government because of the British rule. In essence the Articles created a loose confederation of individual states. The government had little power over the states which they keep to themselves. With no power to raise funds by taxes the government could not raise an army. Or even regulate monies by creating universal money; they couldn t regulate trade between states or even to other countries. This also led to poor foreign relations. In conclusion the articles left a loose central government. With little to no power to execute executive powers like trade, commerce, and foreign affairs the ability to amend the Articles or even vote when a majority was needed, which a majority vote was need when states seemed to worry about just themselves. The fact that many of the ancient near east people made their living by raising small livestock and cattle as a primary form of subsistence (Laniak 2006: 42) has cause this tradition to make its way into the parlance of the Scriptures and become an anthropomorphism even to portrait the image of God as a caring ... The first type of revolution is the revolution from below , which is characteristic of the workers in the Yarur rebelling against the Chilean government. The other type is the revolution from above , this was the revolution common of the higher class like Allende working towards workers rights. At first, the workers think that their revolution from below was only helping Allende s revolution from above. The workers did things like form unions for the first time, or were even so bold to strike against the mill in order to gain complete control over it. Strikes had happened before which were about things like wages or unions, but this was different for the fact that they wanted total control of the mill. Allende was forced to give the workers the power to control the mill. This is just one of the examples of how the revolution from below sometimes coincided with or complemented, but increasingly diverged from, the legalistic and modulated revolution from above (141). Iran Pros And Cons Under Supreme Leader Khamenei; moderate President Rafsanjani; and reformists President Khatami, the Iran nuclear program received support in the 1990s from China, Russia, and the A.Q. According to certain safeguard agreements in place, Iran was supposed to report the transfer to the IAEA but they did not. However, support from the Chinese stopped in 1992 after China joined the Nuclear Suppliers Group and succumbed to U.S. pressures. These measures forced the Iranians to seek assistance from the A.Q.
