3. Ineffectiveness Of Border Control
In recent years, the concept of borders has become focused on the movement of
people, with an increasing number of countries opting for a protectionist approach to
immigration. Yet, the increasing number of casualties as a direct result of these
borders calls into question the continuation of strict bordercontrol. States use borders
as a defence mechanism in the hope of protecting citizens from criminals and terror.
But, history has shown that borders have repeatedly caused significant human
suffering. Borders are also used as an economic tool to defend a countries market.
However, economists suggest borders may be preventing a doubling in world GDP.
The border controlof states is ineffective. It is morally and economically flawed.
Borders between nations are, largely, used to control and monitor the movement of
people internationally. One of the fundamental problems with the border control of
states is their ineffectiveness in preventing and deterring people from crossing
borders. The most notorious border, the Mexico United States border, spans an area
of 1,989mi (International Boundary Water Commission, 2017) and has become
increasingly militarised over the years due to the, ever increasing, influx of Mexican
immigrants attempting to cross the border. The US border security claimed an 81%
success rate in preventing illegal immigrants from crossing the border in 2015.
However, alternative estimates suggest that the border security s success rate was in
the 40 55% range
4. Personal Philosocial Assessment
On a macro level it educates the individual to become competent in social skills
and communication and decreases the likelihood of behavior problems where it can
relieve the negative impact they might have within a community by being socially

that the issues they are tackling can be carefully organized Kirst Hull, (2016).

5. Collaboration Is A Key Ingredient For Successful Teacher...
Collaboration is a key ingredient for successful teacher professional development.
Through this field experience, I had the privilege of collaborating with Mrs.
Branson and further developing my professional teaching philosophy. As a teacher
candidate in Mrs. Branson s 3rd grade classroom, I have learned new classroom
management skills and how to guide, inspire, and provide structure to my students.
Mrs. Branson has taught 3rd grade at S.H. Elementary for the past three years.
S.H. Elementary is a charter school located in the south suburbs of Minneapolis. I
have observed Mrs. Branson in her classroom for the past two months and had the
opportunity to create and teach a variety of lessons to an engaging and active
group of 3rd graders. She has become a very important teacher mentor in my life
and I had the liberty to sit down with her and reflect on her teaching experience.
Mrs. Branson s journey to become a teacher is very similar to my own professional
quest in life. Mrs. Branson graduated with a degree in fashion design and started
her professional career in fashion merchandising. After about three years of working
in the field, she realized she needed a change in her life. She credits this moment of
epiphany when she went to visit her 1 year old nephew in Indiana while she was
living in Chicago. Every time she would go home, she noticed how much he would
change. As she noticed these changes, she thought to herself that it was weird and
fascinating how every time she

Today is the day of thanksgiving. We did not celebrate Thanksgiving in China, but
I still want to thank something. I am truly grateful that I did not need to experience
any warfare in my childhood. I did not need to worry about hunger and drought in
my life despite that some time the weather were terrible. Compared with Ishmael s
childhood, mine was perfect and have no flaw to be pick and complain about. I
hope that children like him could escape from wars, and they could go to school
enjoying their childhood with their peers. Back to the book, Ishmael was 15 years
old. Because of the war, he celebrated his birthday with his squad talking about
Nacbac with drugs. His family was gone. Yet the turning point of his life came

11. Of Abraham Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln And The President
Of...
War is chaos and the devil itself. It represents the cruelty and darkness in the
human heart. In 1861, a Civil War broke out between the North and the South. A
soldier who served in the Civil War said in a letter to his parents, Many became ill
from exposure and starvation, and were left on the road. ( Letters and Diaries, 1862)
The war continued for four years and was considered by historians as the most
devastating war the United Stateshas witnessed. Nonetheless, the Civil War produced
two of the most brilliant minds in American history: Abraham Lincolnand Nathan
Bedford Forrest. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States of
America, served as the main strategist for the North during the Civil War and
Nathan Bedford Forrest was a Lieutenant General in the Confederate Army. Both
Lincoln and Forrest came from humble origins and worked their way to success.
However, Lincoln gained his position as a President by using his tact and
diplomacy although he was not appreciated for his clever decisions and authority
while Forrest became a General through aggression and was praised by the South as
a great tactician and a war hero. Abraham Lincoln s endeavor and success in granting
equal rights for African American will remain forever in the heart of later generations.
First, Abraham Lincoln and Nathan Bedford Forrest were not blessed with fortune
and opportunity but they achieved their goals through perseverance and great effort.
Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809
12. DNA Fingerprinting
DNA fingerprinting for crime solving and paternity testing
Currently, DNA fingerprinting is the most innovative technology used to determine
parentage and crime solving. DNA fingerprinting does not give any direct
information as to the nature of the genes coded for by the DNA, and it gives no
information about the chemical sequence of the DNA. It does, however, give direct
information about the identity of individual, including their relatedness.
DNA fingerprinting is a forensic technique used to identify individuals by features
of their DNA. A DNA profile is a small set of DNA variations that is very likely to
be different in all unrelated individuals, thereby being as unique to individuals as are
fingerprints. First developed and used in 1984, DNA fingerprinting is used in,
commonly, for parentage testing and criminal investigation. Its purpose is to identify
a person or to place a person at a crime scene, methods that are employed globally in
forensic science presently. Another aspect, which the technique for DNA
fingerprinting helps, is being used in the establishment of animal and floral
populations and has dramatically transformed the fields of zoology, botany, and
agriculture.

The first person narrative is a story told from the first person perspective. The
narrator is speaking directly about him or herself. The first person narrator can be
either subjective or objective. The third objective narrative is a story told by a
nonparticipating character. The narrator is usually detached from the story.
Sometimes, the narratorcompletely penetrates the mindof a character. Third person
narration is often used in documentaries. The omniscient narrators are often not part
of the story but are all knowing observers. These narrators tell the reader all the facts

word grind refers to the constant work that is being put in by the athlete. Since the

17. Fyodor Dostoyevsky The Grand Inquisitor
In his poem, The Grand inquisitor, Fyodor Dostoyevsky uses his story of two
brothers, Ivan Karamazov and Alyosha Karamazov to discuss religion and the
existence, or lack thereof, of a benevolent God. What really struck me about
Dostoyevsky was his ability to use Ivan s questioning as a means to foster thought
in his audience. Personally, I had a few moments of sublimity as I pondered my
own religion and how these unanswerable questions played in my religion. I also
really appreciated how Dostoyevsky s poem read more like a prose, allowing me
as a reader, to connect more with his writing and have a deeper contemplative
thought of his work. I believe that Dostoyevsky uses the Grand inquisitor in Ivan s
story as a means to promote this deeper
18. The Theatre Of The Absurd Analysis
The Theatre of the Absurd is a collection of plays written after World War II that
were considered of having ridiculous and random ideals. Many of these plays came
from Europe, including Rhinoceros by Ionesco. In Rhinoceros, the main character
Berenger is a man who is not keeping up with himself and is having a midlife crisis.
Everyone else in the town is living a normal life when the townspeople start to turn
into rhinoceroses. With his differentness and being so out of place, he is the only
one left as a human over a rhinoceros. Now that Berenger wants to be like everyone
else and turn into a rhinoceros, he cannot because of his major differences. In the
play, Rhinoceros, different aspects of the Theatre of the Absurdcome through in the
crazy storyline created by Ionesco. No communication and no logic are two of the
aspects of the absurdwriting concepts during this time period. One of the absurd
aspects of no communication is found through the lines of the play.
No communication is one of the absurdist aspects in the play Rhinoceros that
reoccurs throughout the storyline. Towards the beginning of the play, the characters
find that a rhinoceros is trampling through the town. The housewife finds that her cat
has been trampled on by the strange creature, and is very upset. She wails to the
others: It ran over my cat, it ran over my cat! (Ionesco 26). Everyone responds back
to her: Poor little thing! (Ionesco 26). Even though the cat has been trampled over
and is dead,
19. The Assault Of Gun Control
Gun control has become a hot topic in the United States as of now. There will be
those who are for guns and those who are against guns. Those who are for guns,
assert that it is our right to bear arms according to the 2nd amendment and those who
are against guns, believe that guns are unnecessary and cause more violence. Assault
weapons, in particular, have caused too many deaths and the government needs to
put a ban on assault weapons. First and foremost, assault weapons have claimed the
lives of too many people in the world. Take a look at the Umpqua Community
College, Colorado movie theater and Sandy Hook shootings. What all of those
shootings have in common, is that an assault weaponwas used by the perpetrator.
Mass shootings like these, just show how powerful and dangerous assault weapons
are. These assault weapons are claiming the lives of people ranging from children to
elderly. Mass shootings are examples of how assault weapons provoke more harm
and violence. However, some may notice that all of these mass shootings happened in
gunfree zones. Gun free zones were introduced by the Gun Free School Zones Act
of 1990. The act prohibits anyone from conceal carrying a gun in the area. Two of
the examples of gun free zones were Umpqua Community College and Sandy Hook
Elementary. Shootings are most likely to occur in areas where people will not shoot
back at the perpetrator. The Colorado movie theater shooting happened in an area
where guns were banned. If these places

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company and Preventing Avoidable Accidents
Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company s Super Bowl advertisement,
#makesafehappen released on February 1st, 2015, has received negative attention
because of its morbid yet practical depiction of a young boy who has passed away
due to a preventable accident before experiencing the life in which a teen or young
adult would otherwise. The advertisement also uses the death of a young child to
appeal to parents; especially the mothers, largely using pathos to raise awareness of
deadly accidents which could otherwise be preventable. Logos and ethos, although
weak in this advertisement, also raises awareness on preventing avoidable accidents.

The emotional appeals utilized in the video are both heart warming and worrisome
due to the language and tone the boy uses throughout the advertisement. The
repetition of the phrase, I ll never get to , creates empathy for the boy through people

accident . This sympathy for the boy then creates acknowledgment, especially for
parents, of the preventable dangers that lurk in the world; bringing about, the success

21. Nonsyptomatic Hearing Loss
After making a conclusion on the hearing loss of the patient, the physician will
choose possible avenues for treatment. In cases where the hearing loss is not
severe, a hearing aid can be installed in order to help the individual hear properly. In
cases where hearing loss is permanent and severe, cochlear implants are available for
specific nonsymptomatic deafness where the inner ear is not at risk to reject the
implantation. There is also hearing assistive technology (HATS) which can be

headphones, hearing aids consist of three major parts: the microphone, the amplifier,

impulse to the amplifier,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are schools specifically for children who are deaf, although integrated schools
can also provide sufficient opportunities for students who are deaf. This can mean
an interpreter in the classroom as mentioned above, a microphone on the teacher
which can work to amplify the effects of hearing aids and cochlear implants, a
teacher s aide who can repeat unheard instructions, and the use of developing
technologies in order to convey message, such as speech to text instructing. Teachers
need to be aware that being hard of hearing can influence the student s sentence
structure, particularly in those who learned ASL first, as it uses different sentence
structure; vocabulary, particularly with words which have two or more meanings,
such as bark ; speaking, particularly when spoken to and when identifying soft

able to hear normally . This is not the case, and teachers particularly should be aware
of that. With all of the issues that a student with hearing loss faces, it s unfortunately
common that students with hearing loss have difficulty with all areas of
22. How To Capture Orca Whales
The process of imprisoning the animals begins when the aquarium hires private
contractors to capture young animals from the wild. One of SeaWorld s most well
known attractions, Shamu, was captured in this way by Ted Griffin. Griffin recalls
that in order to capture the whales, his team would use explosives to force them
into coves, where they would net the entire pod, which would often result in the
drowning of 3 5 whales every trip (Blackfish). In order to cover up the killings, the
team would then split open the whales, stuff them with rocks, and sink them in the
ocean. Once the calves are captured, they are shipped to any aquarium around the
world that pays the highest price for them, which causes an enormous amount of
distress for both the mother and her calf, due to the fact that in the wild the calf will
never leave its mothers side. This extreme act to capture the orca whales is not only
wreaking havoc amongst the orca whales but also proves to be an tremendously...

After arriving at the aquarium, the whales are put into tanks that are a maximum
of 40 feet deep and 80 feet wide, much smaller than the 100 mile area an Orca
would swim daily in the wild. To put things into perspective, the human equivalent
to these tanks would be about; 10 meters long, 6 meters wide, and 2 meters deep
(WDC), which is about the size of 2 school buses parked side by side. Among other
things, the tanks are harmful to the whales for three main reasons. The first reason is
the tanks are much too shallow for the whales to dive down into the shade of the
ocean to escape the suns hot rays. This being said, the whales are forced to stay on
the surface much more than they would in the wild, resulting in extreme sun burn.
23. The Plan Of The Anaconda Plan
The anaconda plan
At the beginning of the war the Union thought it would be an easy, quick war. The
Union leaders at this time had no actual plan for the war. General Scott saw this and
came up with the Anaconda plan. Scott considered the war a strategy game, and
would attack and penetrate the enemy s forces without destroying all of their troops;
focusing mainly on victory. At the beginning of the war Scott, unlike others, thought
that the war would be over in more than two years. The war ended in four years. The
term Anaconda plan came from Northern press trying to explain Scotts plan. Many
people thought that Scotts plan was too passive and difficult. The Union s effort in
the civil war increased greatly on April 19, 1861. At this point Abraham Lincoln
created a naval blockade, a system of ships that stops all imports and exports, on the
Confederate coastline. This blockade stretched from the Rio Grande to the
Chesapeake Bay. At this time Lincoln s argument was that the Confederacy had no
right to secede. Creating this blockade allowed the National warships to attack
privateers. Privateers are privately owned and run warships. These ships were used to
take the Union s trade ships. Getting rid of the privateers meant that the Union could
transport goods easier. Scott s anaconda plan needed the Union s army and navy to
surround the Confederacy. After encompassing the Confederacy the army and navy
would tighten in, and effectively strangle the South. This contained two
24. Preferential Treatments in Juvenile Justice System.
Chapter 15 in the textbook focuses mainly on juvenile justice. There are many
subtopics under this chapter however, there was one topic in particular that
attracted my interests. This topic was also touched on several times in the
discussions board and it is the Preferential Treatments in Juvenile. These
controversial treatments were specifically created and developed with a child s
best interests as a primary objective. The concept of this was introduce from the
philosophy parens patriae which allowed the states to step in and take control of the
problematic child. This philosophy was later developed and addressed by the
Supreme Court around 1960 s and become today s juvenile justice system. In this
paper, I will discuss about the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the preferential treatments were designed to help and better children however,
there are issues that we need to be aware of. In Kent versus U.S (1966) , a 14 year
old Morris Kent was arrested and placed on probation from burglaries and
attempted purse snatching charges, he then was released on probation back to his
mother s custody. Two years later, Morris Kent entered a woman s apartment, took
her wallet and raped her. Morris Kent was sent to adult court system, he then was
sentenced 5 15 years in prison in each count. Morris Kent however, was only 16 year
old at the time. From this case, I couldn t help but noticed that Morris Kent was one
of the people who slipped through the cracks of the system. I feel that the authority
should have noticed and discovered Kent s psychological problems in the first place
and thus, preventing the incidents from happening in the first place. In my opinion,
the preferential treatments could have been one the reasons why Morris Kent was
released without a through evaluations and investigations. I strongly feel that Kent
should and could have been treated early.
Another issue with the preferential treatments is that it may encourage repeat
offenders due to a soft juvenile disposition. In the textbook Criminal Justice Today ,
Schmalleger (2010) states Most judges decide not to confine juveniles. Statistics
indicate that in nearly two thirds (62%) of all adjudicated delinquency cases,
juveniles are placed on
25. A Time For Change Again !
A Time for Change; Again! With the way this election has turned out and the
thoughts that are had by most, change of the election process has come up multiple
times by all kinds of people. We see this is the posts on social media, the protest
that have happened across the nation, and the speeches from politicians to give the
president elect a chance. There are family and friends that are no longer talking to
each other and rules that have been set for holiday gatherings that certain topics are
not allowed in conversation. In talking to people both inside and outside of my
family, I have come to realize that most people do not know how the primary
system works. They do not know the difference between a primary or a caucus or
even how the delegates during this process are divided up amongst the candidates.
The two parts of the process that seem to be questioned the most are the primary
system and the use of the electoral college. Both processes seem unfair and outdated.
I believe a change to the primary system should happen because most Americans do
not get to vote for the candidate they want, the first two states to vote in the primaries
are not representative of the population, and voter turnout is very low due to the dates
and times they are held.
Americans do not always get to vote for the candidate that they want during the
primary election. For instance, states like California who vote later in the primary
election, may find that they are forced to choose

Implication of Costume Design Choices in Staging Marlowe s Doctor Faustus An
effective costume engages the audience s attention and enhances the production
and the actor s performance: (1) it visually defines and supports the character
developed by the actor, and (2) it helps establish the overall theme and mood of the
production as interpreted by the director. An effective costume speaks to the
audience s subconscious store of knowledge and experience, helping them to
identify the individual characters even before they speak and even if they are
silent. The Magic Garment (Cunningham 2) The most first and most important step
in designing costumes for a show is to discuss the overall artistic vision of the

Questions to Ask of a Play provides an analytical framework that can be applied to
any play to help determine the nature of this interpretation. When this framework is
applied to Marlowe s The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, it is possible to
consider how design elements, such as costumes, might change the overall audience
interpretation of the play. Design choices provide details that aren t specified in the
text alone, which can direct not only the audience s overall interpretation of the show,
but also their

We watch Him gain His power legally, through the system. We watch as He turns us
against the ones we used to call our friends. We watch Him use the Proclamation, a
way to weed out those who didn t agree with His philosophies. We watch those that
fight disappear. We watch others try to seek refuge, only to be sent back. We watch
other countries turn their backs to us like we did them. We watch as we slowly, but
surely, end up alone.
Through all this, I try and work by myself. After the last attempt, most people are
too afraid to try and rebel publicly, so we hide in the shadows. My main goal for
months has been to recruit those on the outskirts of society and send them the
resistance s way. The scientists, the activists, the ones with brave ... Show more

31. Examples Of Power Craze In Macbeth
Power craze occurs many times in Shakespeare s Macbeth. The female characters
are excited to have power. Lady Macbeth for instance, has to seek power through
Macbeth because women weren t given strong leadership roles back then. The
witches also helped with the plot by making Macbeth excited to murder Duncan and
become king himself. Shakespeare uses Macbethto show the audience his views on
power with women. Lady Macbeth is an example of the feminism. Lady Macbeth
puts herself with power by actually going through with her decision to murder
Duncan. Lady Macbeth makes sure that she can persuade Macbeth to kill Duncan
for her. In order to do this, she can t act very feminine like to put herself into the
leadership position. Come you spirits/ That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here

makes sure that he doesn t feel that way anymore: When you durst do it, then you

saying he was manly, but now he isn t because he feels guilty. Lady Macbeth then
states that she would kill her own child if she promised someone to prove her point
even more. By saying this, she makes Macbeth sound weak and unmanly which
makes her feel more powerful. After that Macbeth quickly starts honoring Lady

man like, and that she isn t acting very feminine because leadership roles were only
given to man. Since she is dominating Macbeth, she is in the control of the mission

32. Globalization, Globalisation, And Media Related
Globalization
A global society is where the whole world is seen as one international society,
instead of separate nation states, as a result of globalization. It is when things
happen in one part of the world and end up affecting other parts of the world too,
resulting in a growing awareness of the world as a whole. Globalizationcan thus be
defined as the intensification of worldwide social relations that link distant
localities in such a way that local happenings are shaped by events occurring many
miles away... (Giddens, 1990: 64). This essay will be exploring the way in which
we may or may not in fact inhabit a global society, and how far we do inhabit one.
This essay will deploy theories of various sociologists views on globalization, whilst
exploring economic globalisation, political globalisation, the ideology of
globalisation, cultural globalisation, and media related globalization. Both
viewpoints will be analysed to subsequently reach the conclusion that we are indeed
starting to show aspects of inhabiting a global society, yet how this is limited by the
idea that we are not completely inhabiting a global society.
The International Monetary Fund describes globalization in an economical sense by
saying that globalization is the growing economic interdependence of countries
around the world through accumulating volume and diversity of cross border
transactions in products and services, rapid and extensive dispersion of technology,
and more open international capital flows (IMF,
33. The Problem Of Democrats And Republicans Essay
I have chosen the topic concerning the inability of Democrats and Republicans to
properly reform the criminal justice system. This is an issue with nearly every topic
and this is the main cause of issues in the country. The debates and lack of agreeable
actions makes it seem nearly impossible for the country to change in positive ways
in timely manners. This issue is the biggest issue in the United States of America,
because it interferes with progress and reform. This is an integral part of why the
current system remains in a dysfunctional state. This issues is more urgent than the
others topics because if this issues is adequately addressed it has the potential to
positively impact recidivism, bias and disproportionate incarceration among
minorities, relational impacts for prisoners and many other issues. This will only
happen if the political parties can come to a moral understanding and reform the
system to promote growth and rehabilitation. The inability for the two parts to agree
and implement positive reformations is the biggest issue for the criminal justice
system because the only way the system will change is if there is agreeance for the
need of reform.
The current system is based on mass incarceration which was meant to keep more
criminals off the streets and make the people feel safer. This approach has created
more instability and discrimination. Incarceration deepens existing inequalities and
even creates new inequalities... especially for African Americans
34. Developmental Controversy Of Nature Vs. Nurture
1.Explain the developmental controversy of nature vs. nurture. Be sure to provide
an example to illustrate the point. Nurture refers to society, family, and church that
impacts who we become. Some examples are how we are raised, where we are
raised and our experiences during childhood. If a person is raised in a religious
setting they will probably have those same morals and beliefs when they are older.
If they were in foster system that will effect who they become depending on their
experience in foster care. Nature refers to our genes and things we inherit from our
blood relatives genes. This could be anything from our eye color, weight, height, or
weather we are shy. Nature is our genes which is personal characteristics and what
we look
35. The Main Reasons For Kentucky Fried Chicken In China
There are several reasons why Kentucky Fried Chicken is successful in China. The
first reason for KFC s success in China is their growth strategy. KFC in China
decided it s goal was for rapid expansion and to develop in smaller cities rather than
large ones. This business decision was done to reduce costs. KFCwould be able to be
the first in a new area and have a better choice of locations. This also meant free
publicity from the grand opening and would be receptive to mall owners. Kentucky
Fried Chicken was the first Western fast foodchain to arrive in China and a KFC
location is opening at a rate of about one a day. They are successful in this strategy,
because they are thinking outside the box. Most fast food chains are opening in large
cities and competition is everywhere. Opening in smaller areas reduces costs, gives
customers a feel of something new and exciting and has less competition.
Another reason for KFC s success in China is understanding the changing Chinese
culture and the different regional tastes. Chinese middle class are finding it hard
to find time to prepare family meals. The Chinese lifestyle is changing and western
fast food is considered a healthier option to Chinese fast food. The Chinese people
want a change and are tired of Chinese food. Not only did KFC develop a specific
menu to address the different regional tastes but altered the facial features of the
iconic Colonel Sanders to look more Asian so the Chinese people could relate

These are just a handful of the many educators who have impacted us thus far. But
as the old Chinese proverb states, teachers open the door, but you must enter by

that has been opened for us. When we leave here tonight, preparing ourselves to
take on the unfamiliar waters ahead, our journey may lead us to many different
passages. Some of us will stay at home, some will join the armed forces, some will
work, and some will go to a community college or a four year school. But I believe
that which path we choose does not matter. In our grand voyage, some of us will
find ourselves owning a farm, others will become pharmacists. Some will be

41. Raising Medical Malpractice
The rising price of health care and the amount of medical malpractice claims being
filed sparked a start to this controversial topic. The average price of medical care
has gone up roughly 20 percent between the late 80s and the early 2000s (The risk
authority, 2014). And the amount of medical malpractice claims in the same
twenty years has arisen from one person filing a claim to five people filing the
same claim, in a small ratio (Doyle, n.d.). The rising cost of medical expenses is
feeding off of the increase in the amount of these cases filed every year. There are
other reasons for the medical cost to rise such as the new expensive treatments and
medications. But these new innovations are also raising the amount medical
malpractice... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As medical innovations advance throughout time, the quality of medicine and care is
increasing along with the costs of health care because of the amount of medical
malpractice suits filed. And each with their increasingly steep, positive
association, rising quickly, feed off of each other giving a negative impact on the
people needing this care. According to National Health Expenditures, in the year
2016 health care spending sky rocked increasing by 4.3 percent, this is an average
of more than $10,000 per person and as a whole $3.3 trillion in the U.S. (Joyce,
2016). These increasing prices gives horrible news for the majority of U.S.
citizens, the average of more than $10,000 per person can be detrimental to
anyone. People just don t have this kind of money to drop on health care. The
average income for one person is just over $80,000. This means that for the family
of four (two parents, two children), this amount of money is a quarter of their
income before taxes, food, and other necessities. The non conquencidental cause of
the rise in the price of health care is the increasing amount of medical malpractice
claims. A graph from The Risk Authority Medical Malpractice Trend Review states
that, for a large case between the late 1980s and the early 2000s the amount of
cases rose roughly 20 percent, this means that for every one person in the late
1980s that filed a claim, in the early 2000s five people filed a medical malpractice
claim (Doyle, n.d.). The increasing amount of medical malpractice claims is rising
the price of health care for everyone. This is because the doctors have to pay for
these cases, and they are paying for them out of pocket, even if it is found to not be
medical malpractice, they still have to pay for the court fees out of pocket. To make
up for the court fees and payouts, they raise their costs. This

Do People Who Are Trafficking Human Organs Help Other People?
(Campbell Davison, 2012), say that the unlawful business in human organs special
kidneys has advanced quickly and unexpectedly. The reasons why selling kidneys
has advanced quickly is that nowadays many countries have wars so there are
many poor people who need money to live a good life. Also, after wars, there are
many sick people that felt desperation because they lost their organs in the war and
no one donated to them, so they needed to buy organs to stay alive. Other reason is
because people have two kidneys so when they sell one kidney for important reasons,
they won t die. Most countries punish those people who sell their organs that are why

accident. She lost her kidney in the accident. She needed another kidney. In Kuwait,
you can t buy an organ, so she waited for anyone to donate a kidney for her but no
one did. She felt desperate. Her brother Khalid found a poor family that they want
money to live a good life. He persuaded one person in this family to give Fatima a

Some critics may argue, however, that it is the greed of the middleman which creates
illegal trafficking of human organs. There is a great profit to be made by the middle
man, so oftentimes the unscrupulous become organ traders. Researchers point out
that trafficking will continue as long as there are huge profits to be made (Caplan

45. Pathological Processes Help Distinguish Medical Conditions
Pathophysiology Assessment 2: Case based assignment
Pathological processes help distinguish medical conditions through the use of a
variety methods to assist in diagnosis and treatment of patients. Mr Johns, a 60 year
old male has exhibited to his doctor a number of symptoms that usually coincide and
are distinctive with issues relating to the respiratory and cardiovascular systems of
the body. This case based assignment will in order to assist in the treatment of Mr
Johns, assist in diagnosing his conditions by; investigating the presenting features and
its pathophysiology, analyse the results and importance of vital signs, physical
inspection and blood tests, construct a differential diagnosis signifying likely
conditions the patient may be experiencing , and finally providing a justification for
further diagnostic tests.
Signs and Symptoms
One of the chief complaints Mr Johns presents is shortness of breath, also known as
dyspnoea whilst he is resting. Breathlessness is a multidimensional and subjective
experience of difficulty or uncomfortable breathing originating from an intricate
interaction between physiological and psychological factors (Yorke 2014). Mr
Johns presents a respiration rate of 28 breaths per minute, which is peculiarly
elevated, and is specified as tachypnoea. Tachypnoea signifies that a greater volume
of oxygen is needed to supply components of the body, or to recompense for limited
supply in bodily systems where there has been a restriction of

Related Work
Various image processing researches related to face have been of keen interest since
a long time. From past decade, though the study related with respect to aging pattern
and age estimation has become important, it is still very challenging. Mostly age
estimation is done using shape patterns of face or using facial texture information
such as wrinkles.
Existing methods for facial age estimation typically consists of 2 main steps: image
representation and age prediction [3]. The general models used for representing
images are Active Shape Model (ASM) [4], Active Appearance Model (AAM) [5],
Craniofacial Growth Model [6], Aging Pattern Subspace [2], Manifold Learning [7]

50. Examples Of Maturity In Catcher In The Rye
There are certain qualities that define maturity, and they vary from person to
person. Throughout the story, Holden Caulfield, the sixteen year old protagonist
of The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger is slowly but surely becoming a mature,
young boy. He battles through his teenage life because he is caught between two
worlds; one of pure bliss and innocence, the other of a mature adult. As he aspires
to be the catcher in the rye , he wants all children to hold on to their innocence as
long as they can because he feels the world is full of phony adults. However with
the help of some friends and family, he is able to realize that he cannot save all
children and that they will eventually have to grow up. Jeannette Walls, the author
and main character of the memoir, A Glass... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In chapter nine when Holden takes a trip to New York City, he is very concerned
with the ducks in Central Park. While speaking with his taxi driver, he says: Hey,
listen ... You know those ducks in that lagoon right near Central Park South? That
little lake? By any chance, do you happen to know where they go, the ducks, when
it gets all frozen over? Do you happen to know, by any chance? I realized it was
only one chance in a million I was just interested, that s all (Salinger 60). Holden
perceives himself as a duck trapped in the motionless water, a gloomy atmosphere
where he does not belong nor fit into. Subconsciously, he may be searching for a
warm escape like the ducks, because he feels he should have a chance to find his
place in the world too. His motive for wanting a great escape is because he fears the
idea of maturing into a young adult. He feels that adults are phony s and depreciate
the values instilled in young children. Holden s conversation with his taxi driver
teaches him that there is a fine line between dreams and reality, and this helps Holden
51. Exploring Heavy Cream Affect The Mass Of The Butter
Produced
Title
Does the method of shaking heavy cream affect the mass of the butter produced?
Purpose
The purpose of the experiment was to determine if shaking method affected the mass
of the butter produced.
Background Information
Heavy cream is what is known as an emulsion. An emulsion happens when small
drops of one type of liquid are floating around with another type of liquid that it does
not mix with, such as oil and water. Emulsion in heavy cream happens when tiny
globules of fat are suspended in mostly water ( the chemistry of butter , 1). The globs
of fat in heavy cream are surrounded by a layer of phospholipids and proteins, which
prevents them from mixing with the water into one homogeneous mixture. Churning
heavy cream causes the fat globs to hit each other, and if they do so with enough
force, they will start to stick together. As the churning goes on, the fat globs join to
form solid butter. The remaining liquid is then drained off to leave the butter for use.

The fat particles have hydrophobic tails that repel water and hydrophilic heads that
can be around water. The phospholipids form a small bubble with the hydrophobic
tails in the center, away from the part of the heavy cream containing water, and the
hydrophilic heads are on the outside, with the water in the heavy cream. This is what
causes the butter particles to stay separate from the water within heavy cream. Once
the heavy cream is agitated by whisking, for example, the phospholipid bubbles will
break open and start to form solid masses of butter. At this point, the heavy cream
transitions from an oil in water emulsion to a water in oil emulsion. This means that
the water gets pushed out of the mixture when the solid butter forms its

Critical Reflection 3: The Role of Technology in the Repression of the Id
It is appallingly obvious that technology has made virtually all facets of reality more
efficient and easier to access than it has ever been before. With the gamut of
conveniences that it allows, technology has become seamlessly integrated into the
social infrastructure at almost every level. There is hardly an arena in which
technology is not used. While the technological prowess of modern society increases,
it is important to note the potential hazards and side effects of this escalation. Among
these hazards are the threats of the perpetuation of social stratification, and in effect,
antiquation of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Winston is being scanned, the camera zooms into an MCU shot of Winston
s head and the camera perspective is made to be from the viewpoint of the
telescreen that is scanning him. This shot type is juxtaposed with a shot in which
the telescreen is incessantly flashing in the background behind Winston as he sits
on his desk. These filming styles highlight the prominence of the telescreen and
portray it as an omnipotent force controlling Winston s actions and facial
expressions through fear. Because of the presence of this telescreen and the other
surveillance cameras throughout this oppressive society, Winston is made to
repress his feelings of contempt and discontent within the oppressive regime of
Big Brother. More importantly, the fear of these surveillance cameras forces
Winston to repress any animalistic urges he has, such as the urge to express his
libido for Julia. There are a multitude of scenes within the film that highlight
Winston s fear of expression of his libido when within the presence of a telescreen.
One example is when he and Julia make sure that the telescreen is off in O Connor s
(Michael Redgrave s) residence when they admit that they had broken party rules by
being together. They fear the
53. The Components Of The Criminal Justice System
What is the purpose and explain the components of the criminal justice system?
The purpose of the criminal justice system is to deliver a fair justice system for the
public, by punishing all who doesn t follow the rules or commit a crime, while
protecting the innocent. There are three components to the criminal justice system
theses are: law enforcement, Corrections and Courts. When a person has
committed a crime they go throughout these three components. First is the law
enforcement; law enforcement officers are the people who record and go to the
scene of the crime in an area, they investigate the crime scene and gather the
information. The officer can arrest any offenders but they will have to give a
testimony in court. Second is the Courts: In the courts that s where offenders may
be sentenced or put on parole or probation. The court is ran by the judge to oversee
and to make sure that law and order is followed. They also determines the offender
s faith wither him/she shall release or keep an offender before trial. The judge also
gives all offenders their sentence. In the courts there are also the defense attorneys
defends the accused offender against the state, they are either hired by the defendant
of appointed from the state by law. Last is Corrections: these are officers who
supervise all offenders while they are in jail, prison, in the community or on
probation, parole. Correction officers are there to make sure the facilities that hold
offenders are secure and
54. Foes of the Revolution
History records the events chronicled in Why We Can t Wait as the Civil Rights
Movement. However, if we take to heart the words of the author, Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr., we should view these events as the Civil Rights Revolution. Dr. King states,
A social movement that only changes people is merely a revolt. A movement that
changes both people and institutions is a revolution (142). Through the method of
nonviolent direct action the black citizens of the United States, specifically in
Birmingham, Alabama, achieved more in the summer of 1963 than any other time
in American history. To appreciate this revolution we must realize it battled against
three foes; the white power structure, moderates, and the church. First, the battle
against the white power structure was twofold, economic and political (49). These
forces had been in place since Reconstruction to keep the black citizen in slavery.
Economics came into play when black workers were denied jobs and promotion
due to the color of their skin, not on their skill or performance (46). They came in
the form of Jim Crow lawswhich segregated the black citizen from attending the
same schools, playing in the same parks, or even drinking water from the same
fountain to name a few (44 47). To understand how engrained these laws were
enforced we need only to learn of a United States senator being arrested because he
walked through a door marked Colored (48). Perhaps the greatest display of contempt
toward the black

Introduction
In order to maximize profits or shareholder wealth, managers must use the
information that they have relating to demand and costs in order to determine
strategy regarding price and output, and other variables. However, managers must
also be aware of the type of market structure in which they operate, since this has
important implications for strategy; this applies both to short run decision making
and to long run ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although there are several grades, all wheat of a given grade sells for the same price
in a given market. Buyers are usually not told who produced the wheat, nor do they
care. If properly graded, wheat from one supplier is as good from another. Product
differentiation is an important characteristic because it indicates a firm s ability to
affect price. However, products considered less desirable will be purchased only if
seller is willing to accept a lower price.
* Conditions of Entry and Exit
Ease of entry and exit are crucial determinants of the nature of a market in the long
run. When it is extremely difficult for new firms to enter, existing firms will have
much greater freedom in making pricing and output decisions than if they must be
concerned about new entrants who have been attracted by the lure of high profits.
Consider a drug manufacturer that holds a patent that prohibits other firms from
making the drug. If there are no close substitutes for the product, that firm will
essentially be free from competition now and for the duration of the patent. Thus its
managers can make pricing decisions without worrying about losing market share to
new entrants. However, if the drug can be easily copied, and if prices are
substantially above costs, new firms may enter the market.
Ease of exit also affects managerial behaviour. Suppose that certain firms in a market
have been earning less than the normal rate of profit, if the resources used to produce
57. Photographs Capture Time And Create Meaning
Photographs capture time and create meaning. Mark Klett s Under the Dark Cloth ,
is a simple, yet compelling piece of art which captures his experience in Monument
Valley, Arizona on May 27th, 1989. The perspective of the photograph is strategic in
allowing the viewers to see from Klett s point of view. This angle places the viewer
in the first person, connecting them directly to the image. Images of landscapes are
often engrossing, Klett s piece does this on two planes.
In the text, Visual Methodologies, author, Gillian Rose uses semiotics as a way to
make sense of an image. She defines semiotics as the study of signs and their use or
interpretation, or, how images make meaning (pg. 75). Under close inspection of

Another question could be looked at through the lens of positional communication .
Who is positioned as superior and who inferior? (pg. 82). The photographer makes
the audience feel as if they are a part of the image, giving the audience a connection to
the subject of the photograph. This allows power within the image to be equally
distributed and shared between human and nature.
The objects within the image, such as the watch, camera, and dark cloth connote time,
preservation, and reflection. Klett s use of signs give his photo the purpose it needs
to remain captivating. Within Klett s photo, icons, indexes, and symbols are all
presented.
The icon most prevalent in the image is the upside down image of Monument
Valley. This iconic image represents that specific rock structure in the valley. This
image is also a synecdochal sign, it is a part of this rocky range, representing the
national park as a whole.
The two indexes that stand out immediately are the camera and the dark cloth.
When you see a camera you immediately think of documentation or memories.
When we think of something under the dark cloth or in a dark space we think of
referees reviewing a play or the process of developing a photograph. When someone
is under the dark cloth, it is a personal, capturing moment. This sign is a moment of
silence and critical reflection.
The symbols which are presented in the photograph include the camera, watch, and
the style of the photograph.
58. Fury Symbolism
There are times in history in which one can be proud of their country. At other times,
they look at a certain point in history with despair or grief. War could be looked at
through either perspective, judging by one s character. Specifically, in the movie
Fury, the directors used a little blood, gore, violence, and even sentiment to show
everything that warconsists of, The particular war that the movie is portraying is
World War Two. From combining the bond of soldiers to the gruesome conditions
in which they fight, Fury provides an accurate representation on one of the most
memorable wars of all time. Overall, Fury is an eye opening, yet gory cinema that
doesn t hold back to show the good, the bad, and the ugly of war.
To analyze a movie, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many examples of symbolism occur throughout the movie. For instance, as
mentioned before, Bible is conspicuously religious. He is constantly trying to get
his fellow crew members to be more religious, thus symbolizing the faith many
have during hardships. To continue, Norman must be forced by his commander to
kill for the first time, symbolizing the taint on someone s purity. Another example is
when Norman doesn t shoot a Nazi, which results in an American soldier being
killed. This scene depicts the reality of war and how one cannot hesitate when
killing their enemy. Also, towards the end of the movie, the crew becomes
surrounded and outnumbered, but the group doesn t give up. They stay and fight,
symbolizing a soldier s will to sacrifice themselves for their country. Lastly, one of
the most famous and unforgettable quotes from the movie, best job I ever had is a
stark example of the pride the soldiers have for their country. Symbolism wasn t the
only literary device used in Fury. Character development was used in this movie as
well. At the start of the movie, Norman is a feeble, terrified typist clerk. He then
transformed into a fearless, determined shooter that didn t hesitate to kill a Nazi. In
addition, Wardaddy , the commander, eventually warms up to Norman, as does the
crew. Foreshadowing, another literary technique used, was mainly shown through
quotes. To demonstrate, Bible tells Norman, Wait until you see it. Norman replies,
See what? and Bible responds, What a man can do to another man. Another quote is
from Wardaddy who says, You think it can t get worse? It can. And it will. Both
quotes are responsible for hinting at the horrendous events of war that were yet to
come. It is transparent to see that Fury was more than a gory war
