In times upon which a society is distant from its core values, when members are
challenged by their internal values and their loyalty to their nation; there lies a
memory of what once was. It is often that memory permits members any society
that were wronged or denied their rights, that provides the hope necessary to prevail
through and act during difficult times. Patriotism is believing in one s nation. The
belief is developed from the greatness that was perceived by its citizens and that
creates those precious memories that are referred to in dark times to lead people to
act when their own nation may be against them. Anne Frank once wrote in her diary,
I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end and that peace and
tranquility will return again (Frank, 1942). Her sanguine words reflect past memories
of tranquillity in her nation and when the troubles she faced in the time she wrote this

How Did World War 1 Have A Positive Impact On Canada
June 1, 2018 Was World War 1 Worth it? Dilpreet Toor
World War 1 was one of the most significant events of Canadian history. Although
many Canadians lost their lives during the war, this event brought many positive
changes that shaped Canada into the country it is today. From women gaining rights,
to technological advances, and Canadian nationalism, it is clear that World War 1 was
worth it.
One of the many reasons why World War 1 had a positive impact on Canadawas
because of the rights women gained from it. Before World War 1, women were
considered to be weaker than men and women struggled to gain their rights. Women
wanted to be more than just housewives and take care of their family. They had the

Climb Mount Everest Research Paper
Should you risk your life for bragging rights? I believe people should be acquiesced
to climb Mount Everest because it is a great experience people to go climb to the
top. However in my opinion, I think only some people should be able to climb it,
such as athletic people because you must be fit or you are more likely to fail or to
not make it to the top. You must have trained as well , so you can be experienced.
Someone can t just go up there without knowing what to do because you are setting

The Home School Debate By Charlotte Postlewaite
Through my personal experience and research I have accumulated that
homeschooling has become more appealing to the average American family. Through
my research I found more families should consider the task of taking on
homeschooling to focus on the student s personal needs and education style.
Charlotte Postlewaite writer of The Home SchoolDebate opens her article with
Homeschooling is perhaps the fastest growing option that parents consider for
alternative educationand school choice. According to The National Center for

They had to learn how to teach themselves starting at a very young age. Thus,

college at a higher rate than their peersВ 66.7 percent compared to 57.5 percent and
earned higher grade point averages along the way, according to a study that
compared students at one doctoral university from 2004 2009. This is supported
because of connecting social and academic relations, since students spend less time
on a defined block schedule it gets them the freedom to focus on their passions. For
some students, their passions could be math and science. Thus, giving them the time
to study and learn. This is advancing them for their future major. Home schooled
students often choose academic and social pursuits because they find them important
and meaningful, and college admissions officers are drawn to that authenticity says
Sheehy. When students have a passion for what they are doing it often motivates
them to do their schoolwork. Gavin Larsen who wrote, Should You Try

Wilderness in Call of the Wild by Jack London Essay
Symbolism Many of the characters in The Call of the Wild symbolize specific
qualities. One example of this is Mercedes. She represents greed and being spoiled.
Mercedes enters the wilderness clueless to what toll it will take on her. Undreamed
of! cried Mercedes, throwing up her hands in dainty dismay (73). This quote shows
that she was expecting (and hoping) for a more pampered way of life out in the
Klondike. Mercedes could also represent the unpreparedness of most of the people
going to the Klondike gold rush. The Klondike gold rush was so glamorized that
everyone thought that they could do it. In reality, the gold rush was much harsher
than most people thought it was.
Another example of symbolism in The Call of The Wild is... Show more content on

She is extremely out of place in the untamed wilds. Jack London uses Mercedes to
convey his ideas of this theme. Since she is so used to her pampered life, she
expects the wilderness to be the same. Mercedes and Buck are connected in this
way. Buck was used to a pampered life, but adapts to the wild by embracing his
primitive instincts gradually through the book. Mercedes, on the other hand, is a
prime example of all of the bad qualities to have in the wilderness; She is extremely
presumptuous, and spoiled. An example of these qualities is when Mercedes
wants to be pulled on the sled. It was her custom to be helpless (83). Instead of
adapting like Buck does, Mercedes tries to transfer her luxury live to the wild. By
adding Buck and Mercedes, Jack London shows that he is not making a value
judgment on wealthy people. He shows that two characters can come from the same
background, but be entirely different. Another theme is that primitive instincts can
be strong. This is mostly shown through Buck. He quickly realizes that he needs to
embrace these instincts or die. And not only did he learn by experience, but
instincts long dead became alive again. The domesticated generations long dead
became alive again (31). This quote shows how powerful Buck s feelings are. After a
short time in the wild, Buck s long dead instincts are awakened.

Do you feel like living in a world where nobody is perfect? In Tally Youngblood s

operation. Tally is a teenager who wants to be a pretty; however, there are many
complications with Tally s operation. Due to this, Tally has to face many choices
which change her old perspectives. In Uglies, Tally s characterchanges when she
meets Dr. Cable, after David tells her about his secret, and when she is leaving the

Ishmael
As much as humans don t want to admit it, the world wasn t solely created for us.
The novel, Ishmael, written by Daniel Quinn has given us an insight on how the
world has been treated by man and how it could end. In a time where the world is
being destroyed we need to step up and protect the earth from total destruction.
The Taker culture believes that the world was created for them so therefore they can
do whatever they want to it without any consequences. The idea that man believes he
rules the world is not only false but its constantly causing harm to the planet, Quinn
uses a lot of metaphors to try and explain what the takers are doing wrong and what
should be fixed. An example would be the jellyfish story, the point of the jellyfish
story is to show that man is not the final product of evolution. In Ishmael s story, the
jellyfish tells the anthropologist a factual account similar to the narrator s, except that
its version ends with the appearance of jellyfish.
Ishmael s point is that human culture operates under a creation myth where man is
the climax of evolution even though the universe continues to develop and evolution
is still occuring, man assumes that the Earth was made for them, since they were its
ultimate creation and final product. The narrator then concludes that the premise of
the Taker s story is that the world was made for man (Quinn) (61). The jellyfish story

How To Train Your Dragon Hero s Journey
The movie How to Train your Dragon illustrates the Hero s journey because it has
the same concepts and stages a hero would take on their journey. The important
stages that the movie specifically demonstrates are: Refusal of the Call, The Ordeal,
and The Resurrection. The Refusal of the Call is when the herosenses fear of the
unknown and tries to avoid the dilemma, and it s when they refuse to perform what
they are asked to do for any reason. In the movie, this is when Hiccup does not want
to be a viking because he does not want to kill the night fury Toothless, whom he
has already befriended. This night fury was deadly but still refrained from killing
Hiccup. The next main stage from the Hero s journey is The Ordeal, which is
My Father And Father In Sarah Vowell s Shooting Dad
I was mortified when my dad purposely farted in Buehler s. Two minutes prior we
had been walking down aisles joking about stuff in the store and poking fun at my
little sister. Then all of the sudden he looked around, saw we were pretty much
alone in the aisle and farted. I immediately gave him the I cannot believe you just
did that look and he just laughed, not seeming to mind that a Buehlers associate
was only a couple yards from us. When I think about this it is easy for me to say
that I am nothing like my Father. Sarah Vowell also felt very different compared to
her dad when she wrote the essay Shooting Dad . However when Vowell looks past
their differences she finds how similar she is to her Father. I find this to be true about
many child parentrelationships, even if the child does not wish to be like their
parents. Children cannot prevent themselves from becoming similar to their parents.
Throughout Shooting Dad Vowell discovers how similar she is compared to her
Father. She starts off her essay by examining differences between her and her dad by
saying, You could have looked at the Democratic campaign poster in the upstairs
window and Republican in the downstairs window . This was supposed to
demonstrate a major differencebetween Vowell and her Father. However when I
read this I see two people who share an intense passion for politics. Instead of
showing how different Vowell is from her Father, she shows the reader how similar
she is. Vowell remains
Why College Is A Successful Life With A Career
As of recently, the validity of college has been questioned, is it really necessary to
have a college education to be successful? In the past, education was the key to a
successful life with a career. However, as of recently, some people don t even have
to earn the much coveted bachelor s degree to make as much money as a person that
went to school to earn such degree. So the question is what is the purpose of college?
Is it really worth all the effort, time, sweat, and tears? Even though times have
changed and the reason for going to college has taken a financial turn. I m a firm
believer that college certainly has its purpose aside from financial. The person that
pushed me to go to college was my mother. In an informal interview I asked her
what she thought on the purpose of college. She immediately told me that it was a
vital element for me to have a successful future and life (Aguilar). In a poll
performed by pewsocialtrends.com Nearly every parent surveyed (94%) says they
expect their child to attend college... ( Is College Worth It? )
For some time the purpose of higher education has been debated. On one side people
insist that college is sort of a coming to age rite where student could learn and grow
in many ways. According to the survey performed by Pew research, Thirty nine
percent of people believe that college, main purpose is to open your senses and
mind to new things and new ideas ( Purpose of College Education ). From personal

Broken Heart Syndrome Essay
Broken Heart Syndrome or Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy is a unique disease of the
cardiovascular system. It is a reversible form of Cardiomyopathy. This disease got
its name from the look of the left ventricular wall following changes when the
disease takes place. The changes of the wall are called apical akinesis and basal
hyperkansis. It is reported that the left ventricle resembles a round bottomed, narrow
necked Japanese pot that was used to catch octopi. Tako meaning octopus and tsubo
meaning trap. This disease is generally caused by emotional stress or physical stress.
Broken HeartSyndrome is noted to be more prevalent in women who are sixty years
of age or older. Most often it presents following the loss of a spouse or loved one, but
this disease has been known to occur after vigorous exercise, accidents or excessive
alcohol intake.
Characteristics of Broke Heart Syndrome include transient left ventricular wall
motion abnormalities, reversible ST segment abnormalities and cardiac enzyme
elevation. The cardiac enzymes are only mildly elevated in most cases. These
enzymes include Troponin levels, with a normal value of less than 0.02 and

Summary Of Bernard Goldberg s Bias
Bernard Goldberg is a 72 year old American journalist, author, and political
commentator. In the early 1970s, Goldberg worked as a producer and reporter for
CBS news. In 2001, Goldberg released his first book, Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes
How the Media Distort the News, which became the number one New York Times

has earned
him the title as the winner of fourteen Emmy Awards. Having served nearly thirty
years at CBS News, Mr. Goldberg had earned a reputation as one of the most
original writers and thinkers in broadcast journalism. However, when he observed his
own industry, he realized the liberal media had completely missed their mission to
give honest news. After years of sharing his observations and promoting more
balanced reportings, Goldberg soon realized that no one listened because they
believed they were doing the right thing. The liberal bias continued, therefore Bernard
Goldbergdecided to take the situation into his own hands and expose the distortion

Junot Diaz How To Date A Brown Girl Summary
The work of Junot Diaz is powerfully charged, as Diaz consistently slips impactful
social messages into every paragraph. Diaz himself is an immigrant to America,
and personifies his pains in his literary works. How to Date a Brown Girl is a short
story written by Diaz, with a young Dominican immigrant named Yunior as its
main character. The struggles of immigrants in America have long been an issue,
and Diaz masterfully blends the struggles of fitting in as an immigrant with the
struggles of growing up, as How to Date a Brown Girl is filled with connections to
larger social issues, if you re looking closely enough. The two main social issues in
How to Date a Brown Girl are the struggles of being an immigrant, and the pains of
growing up and learning that life isn t always easy. Immigrants in America go
through a variety of issues, such as being treated differently than others, despite
years of effort by social activists; constantly feeling out of place in a country that s
not their home; and almost always having to start at the bottom of the economic
chain, which only furthers the degradation of the social image of immigrants.
Growing up is a process that every person has to go through, and its issues are well
documented but grossly misrepresented. Finding yourself is the most difficult thing
some people will do, and its difficulty should be appreciated. Yunior, the main
character of How to Date a Brown Girl , is in a country that s not his home, and is

Home Risk Assessment Essay
Home Risk Assessment A home assessment was completed on a private home that
housed a family with five children ranging from the ages of 2 years to 15 years
old. The risks in this household were minimal, but there were a few hazards
relating to injuries from fall from height of more than five foot. Risks The house
did contain some mold on the windows and slight amounts in the bathrooms, but
the mold was well controlled. After reviewing several articles on contained mold in
the household, there was no evidence to support a concern. No person in the
household had a history of a respiratory disease. The main exposure was the
potential for falls due to lack of guards on the windows or gates on the stairs. The
house is a split level dwelling. There were a total of eight windows on the upper
level and two staircases in the home. There is some possible danger of falls from
the windows in the upper level of the space and from the stairs. The fact that there

The Dictatorship Of North Korea
The Dictatorship of North Korea Cambell Nichols Mr. Asphar s P L class.
The Democratic System is embraced by a host of countries, and the system is
generally regarded as fair and stable in most examples of it being used in politics. The
ideal democratic system has many traits, which include; free and fair elections,
accountable executives, just and equitable legal systems, and representative
parliaments. North Korea, or the Democratic People s Republic of Korea (DPRK),
is one of two countries situated on the Korean Peninsula. The country was formed
after the Second World War, where the formerly Japanese occupied peninsula was
divided along the 38th Parallel. The North was backed primarily by Russian interests,
and the South chose to confide in the United States. After the Korean War (1950 53),
instigated by the North, the two countries signed an armistice, but no official peace
treaties. The North frequently feuds with the South, with aggression at an all time
high in recent years. The government of North Korea is a one man state dictatorship,
which has been controlled by the Kim family since the country s founding.
Free and fair elections, as defined by the Civics and Citizenship textbook, are
elections in which citizens must exercise their right to vote without intimidation and
Electoral systems must give citizens equal voting power so governments reflect
majority will. What this means basically, is that elections must be set up in such a

The roots of evolutionist thinking appears contemporary with dogmatic belief that try

that the idea of evolution has sustained many pagan philosophy .
But not this ancient pagan philosophy that has been instrumental in the birth and

The Influence Of Fireworks In Ancient China

amazing because some inventions they ve made are fireworks. Fireworks were used
for many things in China, and now in many countries. reason we use them is for
celebrations or 4th of July. Chinamade fireworks around 2,000 years ago. people say
that a chinese cook created it in a field kitchen and accidentally mixed, charcoal,

something so amazing that we use today.
Second is there food farming, we have some of their food , culture like, wine, rice,

without a fridge. Well there are a couple of ways that they did this some were, they
would preserve food by sun or air drying. China used this method because it got rid
of all of the preserved water in the food and to keep it fresh you don t want the
water to make your food rot/mold. Another method was freezing, they didn t food

departments within various companies. The IT departments of companies have a
lower expectation for budget increases in 2015 (45%) than in 2014 (62%). There is
also an increased expectation that their budgets will stay the same (13% more than
2014) and that their budgets will decrease (4% more). Although the percent of IT
leaders predicting a budget increase is the lowest reported in three years, 71%
reported confidence in their ability to satisfy business demands in 2015. Their
confidence is the result of a stronger relationship between IT and executive
management, with increased communication and transparency of the expectations of
the IT department. IT leaders confidence has continuously trended upwards over the
past three years. (TEKsystems, 2015). With less budget increases in IT departments,
follows a likely decrease in new hires from recruiting agencies. It is likely that
companies intend to satisfy IT demands by furthering the training and abilities of
their current employees, which would decrease the need for new, permanent
recruitment. Another possible solution would be for companies
The Problem Of Using Microstrip Patch Antenna Has...
2.6.2 Radiation Pattern
Microstrip Patch Antenna has radiation patterns that can be simply calculated. The
source of the radiation of the electric field at the gap of the edge of the Microstrip
element and the ground plane is main factor to the accurate calculation of the pattern
for the patch antenna.
Simply it can be said that the power radiated or received by the antenna is the
function of angular position and radial distribution from the antenna [24]. In the
fig.24 [9] below we can see the side view of the rectangular Microstrip element
associated with source, and also the radiating of E fields.
The radiation pattern of a common dimensional antenna can be seen below, which has
side lobe, black lobes which are undesirable as they represent the energy that is
wasted for transmitting Antennas and noise sources at the receiving end.

The gain of the antenna defines the performance of the antenna or the capability to
concentrate energy through a direction which give a better picture of the radiation

James Baldwin s The Fire Next Time
Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do! (Luke. 23.34). These were
Jesus s last words before the Jews crucified him. James Baldwin includes this verse
in his essay, The Fire Next Time to compare the way white people treat black
people to the way the Jews treated Jesus. The Jews did not realize who Jesus was
and they were outraged because claimed he was the son of God, therefore they
crucified him. Today, white peopleare similarly unaware, for they do not know what
they are doing; they claim they are not racist, but they are deluded. They believe they
are righteous people, meanwhile they rationalize racist aspects of society such as
mass incarceration and police brutality. The major theme of The Fire Next Time is

Convict leasing occurred after slavery was illegalized. When predominantly black
men were arrested for petty crimes such as talking to a white woman, they would
be sold to landowners and put to work where they were treated as disposable
chattel. Ninety years after the Civil War, the United States Supreme Court ruled all
forms of slavery as illegal. Due to this, many white people feel enlightened and
righteous. Their delusions block them from seeing that this court decision came
about to prevent Japanese propaganda during a crucial point in World War II. It
was a strange irony that after seventy four years of emancipation the final delivery
of African Americans from overt slavery... was precipitated only in response to
horrors perpetrated by an enemy country (Blackmon 382). Black people only

Us Post Ww2 Essay
The primary motivation seems to be to increase the strength of the domestic
economy by first expanding overseas and facilitating as many countries as possible
to trade with the US. Indeed, the US wanted to help rebuild Europe in order to
build good markets for US not for humanitarian reasons. The clearest example of
this comes from Assistant secretary of state Dean Acheson whilst testifying before a
special congressional committee on post war planning. He stated When you look at
the problem... it is a problem of markets. This seems to be the clearest indication of
the US s motives, especially given the nature of the hearing. Gaddis claims that The

The USSR and the eastern bloc represented a serious obstacle to this and one can
see how these Imperialist tendencies caused an inevitable clash with the USSR as
they represented an obstacle to the aim of reformation of global capitalism to
facilitate trade with the US. The USSR posed a real threat to US economic
hegemony hence a standoff between the two was in many ways inevitable due to
the US aggressively searching for new markets. The US was keen to assert
American influence in eastern Europe by demanding free elections, breaking the
Percentages Agreement. Conversely Stalin had upheld his side of the Agreement
in regard to the Greek communists. Stalin would have viewed all these actions as
an attempt by the US to reorganise the governments in Eastern Europe to align
with the open door policy and to coerce the USSR into accepting US policies. The
US also orchestrated riots over soviet spheres of influence as pointed out by
Williams. The repressive attitudes undertaken by Stalin, such political repressions in
Bulgaria and Poland can be seen as a reaction to the US trying to intrude in on their
sphere of influence and these measures were a defensive
The Causes Of Valley Forge
Imagine living under brutal conditions in a rundown, secluded fort, far away from
home and knowing that you could die at any minute. What would you do? During
the winter of 1777 to 1778, George Washington s Continental Army set up their
post at Valley Forge, a military camp 18 miles northwest of Philadelphia. It was not
big enough to be called a village it only had a few fieldstone houses and a mill for
forging iron. The Quaker farms in the area offered good food and support for
Washington s men, so they accepted. However, as the days went by, they realized that
maybe that hadn t been such a good idea. The soldiers in the Continental Armyshould
have left Valley Forgebecause of deathand illness, living conditions in camp (lack of
food and clothing), and resentment towards Congress. Although Thomas Paine s
words of encouragement in the American Crisis were inspirational, this didn t
change the fact that the soldiers were suffering due to the extreme conditions in
the camp. To begin, the soldiers should have left Valley Forge because there were
many soldiers who began dying of death and illnesses that spread across camp. Noel
F. Busch states that, by February 1, 1778, 3,989 out of 8,000 soldiers were sick ,
which was approximately 50% of the total population (Busch, 1974). According to
researchers, the low estimate of soldiers who were dying in that year (1778) was
1,800 out of 8,000 people, which was roughly 1 person dead for every 2 soldiers
(10%). Finally, at the end

Miami is one of the most popular cities visited by all types of tourists from around
the world. Visitors mainly travel by air and arrive at Miami International Airport. In
2016, Miami welcomed 15.7 million overnight visitors (i.e. tourists) from around the
world. Those tourists spent $25 billion, with 70% of that money coming from
international visitors (Mody, 2017). Many people also embark on cruises from
PortMiami to destinations around the world. Whether the visitor is coming to spend
a few days in the city or is driving through for a cruise, most tourists prefer to visit

The most liked features in 2016 were different based on the types of tourists.
Shopping was a favourite feature of international visitors, while only 10% of
domestic visitors noted this as a liked feature (GMCVB, 2016). Weather and beaches

Programs to Take Families Off the Welfare System Essay...

The welfare reform system s goal was to get people off the welfare system and onto
the job market. The hope was to move people from dependency to self reliance.
Opposition to the new welfare reform system has occurred. Some believe support in a
welfare to work program might create new problems for children by adding strains to
family life or by exposing children to poor substitute care arrangements for policies
that design welfare to work programs that pursue the dual goals of economic self
sufficiency for families and healthy development of children. (http://www.nga.org

Welfare policies aimed at improving family circumstances for both children and
parents must not make the error of focusing solely on parents; if the intention is to
enhance the immediate and long term development of both generations within the
family, then policies must differentiate between youth and their parents. These issues
have brought about numerous debates. These debates have focused on the welfare
reform system. Still in the debate are the pros and cons of this new system, focusing
on the welfare of the child, the parent, the employer, and the taxpayer. Improvements
to the Welfare System will prevent fraud by allowing more than one family member
to work; limiting opportunities to receive a higher education; and providing
opportunities to rise above poverty.

The Influence of Self-Assessed Body Image on Confidence...
Research in psychology today seems to be drawn towards particular fields of
interest especially when it comes to understanding human behavior. One of the
most common research topics for social psychology is body image and the
perceptions that are related to age groups, genders, and ethnicities. Young people
today are pressured by society to make physical appearance a dominant factor in
their everyday lives, and the pressure is found not only through media influence but
friends and family as well (Pavica, 2010). These pressures can affect many different
aspects of a person s life and significantly influence their actions. The aspects affected
by body imagecan include popularity among peers, social comfort, and the attitudes

The goal of this study is to observe how the physical state perceived by the
individual affects the psychological and emotional states that they incorporate into
their everyday lives. From the participants evaluation a greater focus will be on the
relations of self assessment to an individual s confidence and self esteem level. The
link between these aspects can possibly shed light on how decisions and lives are
altered by self interpreted appearance, specifically body image. In addition, there is
evidence which supports the theory that body image dissatisfaction affects both
genders. By creating and enhancing a positive body image, a person greatly increases
their self esteem (Ratanasiripong Burkey, 2011).
A study was conducted that asked college aged men to rate their body image either
positively or negatively, and found that self perceptions of those overweight were
indistinguishable from a similar female sample (Drewnowski Yee, 1987). The
confidence we aim to study will be an individual s personal belief in their ability to
interact with others, resulting from their positive or negative body perceptions. At
this point, it is important to give the operational definitions of all three variables.
Body image within the discussion can be conceptualized

by making women chase the ideal, thin body imagethat is being portrayed in the

photograph. They are providing the viewers with an inaccurate and unreliable
picture. It is also important to know who the parties involved in this issue are. The
company that decides to alter the image is first handedly involved in this matter.
The model that is posing for the shot, which in this case are the women that are
being altered, are also involved. Lastly, the viewers of the photograph, which
includes all of society and their target audience of females are involved as well.
Knowing the relevant laws when analyzing this issue is crucial as well. Given that
the First Amendment grants people with the freedom of speech, these companies are

with the images they have. They are allowed to advertise for their company however
they choose, regardless of outside opinions on their methods. They can send whatever

there are some company policies that these businesses try to follow. First and
foremost they try to market however they think will get them or their product the
most attention. They do this at the cost of unethical photo manipulation. Some
different companies such as Dove and Aerie have spoken out against this issue and
have started campaigns of their own in response to it. The
Ptolemy s Theorem Essay
Geometry has always appealed to me, perhaps because of the illustrations provided
for every question or the way that it s seemingly unsolvable, yet if you understand
and recognise the properties of that figure, you would then be able to solve the
question with no difficulties. Therefore, I find it is important to grasp the concept of
every property which is why I choose to delve further into the Ptolemys Theorem.
The Ptolemy s Theorem provides a relationship between the four side lengths and the
two diagonals of a cyclic quadrilateral, an inscribed figure whose vertices lie on a
common circle. The theorem states that when the product of the two pairs of
opposites sides are added together, it is equals to that of the product of the diagonals

Ptolemy used the theorem as an aid to creating his table of chords, a trigonometric
table that he applied to astronomy. Claudius Ptolemy born around 90 ce in Egypt was
a well known astronomer, mathematician, astrologer and mathematician. Although
much was of his life was lost to history, Ptolemy was famous for his ground breaking
work The Almagest. In his lifetime, Ptolemy explored a motley array of disciplines,
ranging from astronomy and geography, to mathematics, philosophy, literature and
even poetry. He was also the discoverer of the above mathematical theorem now
named after him, the Ptolemy s Theorem. There is also the Ptolemy s inequality, to

There are multiple ways that we can approach the figure to proof that the Ptolemy s
Theorem is indeed correct and consistent when the requirements are fulfilled, and
below, the cosine law and the geometric method are just one of the many.
Proof of Ptolemy s Theorem (Cosine Law)
This proof makes use of cosine law to solve. After equating the diagonals to the sides
using the cosine law, we can then use substitution to get one single equation for each
diagonal. Obtaining the equations of the diagonals would then allow us to multiply it
to conclude and proof the existence of the Ptolemy Law. This law is long and
requires multiple steps to complete which might result in careless errors along the
Why Did Shakespeare Use Comedic Relief In Hamlet

Comedy In Hamlet
In William Shakespeare s Hamlet, comedy is used in quite a few occasions.
Instead of using it as a tool to add more drama and tension to the play, he uses it as
a relief and a break from all of the craziness in the play. Comic relief usually means
a releasing of emotional or other tension resulting from a comic episode interposed in
the midst of serious or tragic elements in a drama. The use of comedic relief in this
play allows for an emotional connection to the play from the audience since it
shows that it doesn t have to always be taken so seriously, and it s ok to laugh
every now and then. One of the first well known people to start using comedic
relief in their plays is actually Shakespeare. Which is also why Hamlet is such a
perfect example of the use of this because it was one of the original plays that
shakespeare used to introduce comedic relief. ... Show more content on

How might the business you have chosen improve the way that it motivates its staff?

This will cause staff to start their work early as they are then already at work. A
consequence of this is increasing their employee s attendance and punctuality
therefore productivity increases.
Another advantage of offering free food to Jaguar Land Rover staff is that they are
encouraged to do overtime. This is because their dinner would already be paid for.
This can cause employees to do extra work and increase sales. Resulting in the
business to gain more profit.
However, offering employees free food can be a weakness in some aspects. For
example, jaguar can lose money by offering their employees free food. This is
because jaguar land rover in castle Bromwich has over 2500 employees which
would then result it being very expensive for them all to take advantage of this
motivational method. Moreover causing Jaguar Land Rover to lose profit and
therefore won t be able to afford the equipment to not only make cars but specialised
ones.
Another disadvantage of offering free food to Jaguar Land Rover staff is that the
company may be open to health risks. This is because the chemicals and fumes,
machinery and being round dust could create health hazards within the food content
being served. The consequences of this are, more employees will take time off work
to recover and reduce the amount of cars produced.
I conducted some primary research and asked 5 members of staff what new methods
of motivation they would like to see jaguar adapt to
Skiing Is A Way Of Survival
As you stand at the top of a run and look down over the mountain; with twisting and
turning slopes, you feel at peace and connected with nature. This is what skiing can
do for you; however, it hasn t always been a way to get out and enjoy the mountain

Scientists have found rock art drawn by ancient civilizations in 8000 B.C. that
depict people skiing. Back in those days, it was the Scandinavians, Russians, and
Altay Mountain folk that were using some form of skis to travel vast distances and
hunt; thus skiing was a way of survival. It wasn t until about the 1860 s that
Americans in Sierra Nevada started to use skis to race and have fun. After that, well
the rest is history skiing is now a significant leisure activity around the world.
However, there are important points in the history of skiing that made a considerable
difference in the ski world we know today.
It is still being debated where skiing originated, but it most likely the Tuvan s who
developed skiing within the Altay Mountains of China. Altay skis were made of
wood with one end curled upward, there were straps for your feet, and horsehide
on the bottoms. The horse hair made the skis grip when walking uphill, but then
slide when going downhill. The Tuvan s also used a single pole called a Taiyak for
steering and balance. The skis were approximately 8 feet long and skier used them
by leaning back extremely far; making them gain speed quickly. This

and have demanded ransoms for the attacks. The Desert Falcons face several different
limitations within their organisation. These limitations stem

How Entrepreneurs Differ from Other Business Owners
Essay
There has been a large amount of attention paid to the subject of entrepreneurship in
the last few years; mainly because most people have chosen to go from working for
somebody else to be their own bosses and work for their dreams. Yet, many still
wonder what is entrepreneurship and what is that sets entrepreneurs apart from other
regular businessowners?
Free lance writer and expert in economic issues Jeanne Holden suggest:
There is no one definitive profile of an entrepreneur. Successful entrepreneurs come
in various ages, income levels, gender, and race. They differ in education and
experience. But research indicates that most successful entrepreneurs share certain
personal attributes, including: creativity, dedication, ... Show more content on

Then, in the middle of starting up a new business entrepreneurs need determination in
order to never give up, even when things seem harder than what they expected; this
determination makes their focus always be on achieving their goals and success. This
must work in conjunction with flexibility, because every entrepreneur must know
how to adapt to the changing world and trends in the business environment,
entrepreneurs competing with already established companies must be open for
change and improvement.
After a entrepreneur has managed to establish himself as a business owner, he
uses other skills to walk toward success, these are leadership and passion.
Leadership is the capacity of directing and influencing others; an entrepreneur must
also be a leader in order to run a successful business where employees feel moved
and inspired to give the best of them each day. And leadership could not exist without
passion, because that is what makes an entrepreneur feel confident about a new idea
and keeps him focus on his main goal, while also inspiring the people around him.
Self confidence is what makes an entrepreneur make the right and the smartest
decision at the right time, they have to
The Tainos Genocide
Genocide is killing a large group of people usually because of race or religion. The
Tainos were the indigenous people of the Caribbean. The Spanish were sent over
by the king and queen of Spain to go and collect gold from the Tainos. The pope
gave them permission to go over and convert the Tainos to Christianity. Columbus
was the leader they sent to lead the Tainos to be conquered for Spain. Christopher
Columbus was an Italian explorer, but he conquered lands for Spain. The Spanish
caused a genocidewhen they came in contact with the Tainos. I think the pope, the
king and queen of Spain, and Columbus s men are most responsible for the genocide
of the Tainos.
First, the pope is responsible for the genocide of the Tainos. The pope sent the king...

They were the people who originally sent Columbus to colonize the land that the
Tainos lived on. They told him that he was to go over and take over their lands. In
document two, the king and queen say to Columbus, Because you, Christopher
Columbus, are going at our command with some of our ships and personnel to
discover and acquire certain islands and mainland in the Ocean Sea, and it is
hoped that, with the help of God, some of the islands and mainland in the Ocean
Sea will be discovered and acquired by your command and expertise. In document
4, the king and queen said They also told him to collect taxes from them. They
were supposed to wear a token as proof they paid it and if they were not wearing it,
they were to be penalized. It seems to us that the Indians who have agreed to pay
the ordered tax [gold] should wear a token of brass or lead that they can hang from
the neck. The design or mark on this token should be changed each time one pays
so that it will be known if someone has not paid. Every time persons are found on
the island without this token hanging from the neck, have them arrested and given
some light penalty. If they would have never told Columbus to come over and
penalize anyone who did not do what they asked, the genocide of the Tainos would
probably not have happened. Therefore, they were one of the most responsible
Cryptozoologys
Cryptozoology? Some may ask what this is. Cryptozoology simply is The study of
evidence tending to substantiate the existence of, or the search for, creatures whose
reported existence is unproven, as the abominable snowman or the loch ness monster.
(dictionary.com) Cryptozoology is an amazing and interesting and very useful
scientific study.
The term Cryptozoology was coined by John Wall. Coming from the Greek roots
kryptos (hidden), zoon (animal), and logos (discourse). This put together means
(the science of hidden animals.) (Danny B Stewart Cryptozoology) A cryptid could
be many things, this includes. Animals living in a place that they weren t known to
live in, known species whose form, color, or size is odd example the giant anaconda
or spotted lions. It could also be known species thought to be extinct, presumably
extinct species only feathers and such found but no complete fossils, new species
known by only stories, prehistoric animals that may not actually be extinct, new
species only known by indigenous or aboriginal people.
The primary interest of present day cryptozoologists are such animals as the Loch
Ness Monster and other lake monsters, Bigfoot and other living hominoids, and the

because of their enormous footprint. These giant manlike creatures are thought to be

Examples Of Dehumanization In Metropolis
This weekend I watched on Netflix the film Metropolis (1927, Fritz Lang) and from
the film I have found some detailed examples about how the movie itself expresses
the German Expressionist theme of alienation/dehumanization resulting from the
industrial revolution that moved laborers from agriculture/farm life to factory life in
the city. The first example that relates to this theme would be when the movie
begins and the underground dwelling workers toil to operate the underground
machines that power the city while the higher class people are living better lives.
This stands out to the theme because it provided a vivid visual of the underground
dwelling workers working very hard to keep the city going and in return they weren t

Abstract The utilization of PC systems for information transmissions has made the
need of security. The security of this intuitive media data should be possible with
encryption or information concealing calculations. To diminish the transmission time,
the information pressure is necessary. Since couple of years, an issue is to attempt to
join pressure, encryption and information covering up in a solitary stride. Picture
security turns out to be progressively critical for some applications, e.g., secret
transmission, video reconnaissance, military and therapeutic applications. These
days, the transmission of pictures is an every day routine and it is important to locate
a proficient approach to transmit them over systems. They send Secret message over
channel utilizing Cryptography and Steganography calculations by AES (Advanced
Encryption Standard). It is utilized to scramble the information from plain content to
figure content the other way around. There are two sorts of keys accessible in the
cryptography, symmetric and asymmetric. There are utilizing symmetric keywhich is
separated into two key, for example, private and open key. Open key is utilized for
encryption and private key is utilized for decoding. The reversible information
concealing method is utilized to recover the information and picture
How Does Kim Kardashian Deserve To Be Famous
Does Kim Kardashian really deserve to be famous?
We all know it s no lie that fame is one of the greatest things one can achieve, but
do some people really deserve the amount of fame that they have? I mean, I know
there are many different ways in which one can grab the fame at any given
opportunity... but leaking your private life to the whole world is just a step too far
if you ask me. Some may say it s desperate, some may say it s not her fault that the
sex tape got leaked but others may then say she thrives off it. Does Kim Kardashian
really deserve to be famous?
It s like a simple equation on how the Kardashians gained fame; Kim Kardashian has
sex with Ray J (on camera), Ray J leaks the video, Kim becomes famous, her sisters
and mother then become famous, and all for what? Nothing. Although, people say that
she gained fame through the fact her dad was a famous lawyer, especially for the case

She s not exactly an interesting person. The only time that you ever see her on the
front cover is when she s trying to garner some attention by making up fake stories
for sympathy. You can clearly tell that her publicist is fighting to keep her on the
front pages and main headliners of the media. She s so over dramatic, selfish and
all she loves is herself (maybe a second love in her life is her child). Who forgets
their child? Was it actually a rumour that Kim had left her child in the hotel room
and had to rush from the taxi back to collect her, or was it just the usual stupid
antics of Kim? I m sure she is a loving mother, but your child comes before your
publicity. Let s not forget about that episode of KUWTK in Bora Bora, where she
literally cried over losing her diamond earrings in the water. Not like she couldn t
buy anymore anyway considering all the money that she has. She really doesn t
deserve her fame and fortune. Like all rubbish, she will eventually fade into
Anne Fausto-Sterling The Five Sexes
In her article The Five Sexes: Why Male and Female Are Not Enough, Anne Fausto
Sterling describes why male and female gender identities are not sufficient in
identifying the sexes of every individual. While Western culture is [still] deeply
committed to the idea that there are only two sexes (20), Fausto Sterling challenges
this viewpoint by determining that there are more than just two sexes, but at least
five sexes and perhaps even more (21). According to Fausto Sterling, these five (or
more) sexes lie on a much wider sexual spectrum, where male and femaleare not the
only biological sexes. It so happens that there is a small number of people who are
born intersex: having both male and female sex organs or other sexual characteristics
What Does It Mean To Be An Adult
What does it mean to be an adult in society today? Does it mean you have lived a
certain number of years and no matter what choices you have made in that time
span you are automatically considered an adult? Or is it based off your experiences
within that span of time? A persons circumstances give a better understanding of his
maturity level as opposed to looking solely at his or her age. In society today once
you reach the ageof eighteen or in some areas twenty one, you are considered an
adult and are bestowed with all the opportunities and responsibilities that come with
this. Such as being able to purchase tobacco products, having to register for selective
service agreement, no longer having to abide by a curfew, and if you are in high...

Technically, turning eighteen makes you legally an adult according to the
government of the Unites States of America. However, when you analyze this term,
there is so much more to it than that. Being an adult means you are able to support
yourself not just financially, but also bodily and spiritually. What does it meanto
support yourself physically though? Supporting yourself physically means you are
able to take care of yourself on a day to day basis from a hygienic point of view.
You bathe regularly, know how to wash clothes, clean up after yourself, are able to
prepare food for yourself, and other tasks such as that. Since coming to college I
have realized that it is necessary to know how to care for myself on a day to day
basis because there is no one here to remind me to do it. Also, my appearance is a
direct reflection of myself and my character. If I walk around smelling bad and
appearing disheveled that reflects poorly on me because it appears that I do not
know how to properly care for myself. That would reflect poorly on my character
and would in turn hurt me financially. I would not be able to get a job because I
would not appear qualified. Most adults know how to do the bare minimum at the
least, as this can have an effect on the other two aspects of taking care of yourself.
Personally, having a religious connection is important to me. It is not important to
everyone, however to some it is the backbone of

Flags Of Our Fathers And Visit To St. Elizabeth s In times upon which a society is distant from its core values, when members are challenged by their internal values and their loyalty to their nation; there lies a memory of what once was. It is often that memory permits members any society that were wronged or denied their rights, that provides the hope necessary to prevail through and act during difficult times. Patriotism is believing in one s nation. The belief is developed from the greatness that was perceived by its citizens and that creates those precious memories that are referred to in dark times to lead people to act when their own nation may be against them. Anne Frank once wrote in her diary, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end and that peace and tranquility will return again (Frank, 1942). I believe people should be acquiesced to climb Mount Everest because it is a great experience people to go climb to the top. However in my opinion, I think only some people should be able to climb it, such as athletic people because you must be fit or you are more likely to fail or to not make it to the top. You must have trained as well , so you can be experienced. Someone can t just go up there without knowing what to do because you are setting yourself up to be unsuccessful.. I understand why some people would want it to be closed . Through my research I found more families should consider the task of taking on homeschooling to focus on the student s personal needs and education style. Charlotte Postlewaite writer of The Home SchoolDebate opens her article with Homeschooling is perhaps the fastest growing option that parents consider for alternative educationand school choice. Kelsey Sheehy writer of, Homeschooled Students Prepared For College says Students coming from a homeschooled background, graduated college at a higher rate than their peersВ 66.7 percent compared to 57.5 percent and earned higher grade point averages along the way, according to a study that compared students at one doctoral university from 2004 2009. This is supported because of connecting social and academic relations, since students spend less time on a defined block schedule it gets them the freedom to focus on their passions. For some students, their passions could be math and science. Thus, giving them the time to study and learn. This is advancing them for their future major. Home schooled students often choose academic and social pursuits because they find them important and meaningful, and college admissions officers are drawn to that authenticity says Sheehy. When students have a passion for what they are doing it often motivates them to do their schoolwork. • 7. Wilderness in Call of the Wild by Jack London Essay Symbolism Many of the characters in The Call of the Wild symbolize specific qualities. One example of this is Mercedes. She represents greed and being spoiled. Mercedes enters the wilderness clueless to what toll it will take on her. Undreamed of! cried Mercedes, throwing up her hands in dainty dismay (73). This quote shows that she was expecting (and hoping) for a more pampered way of life out in the Klondike. Mercedes could also represent the unpreparedness of most of the people going to the Klondike gold rush. The Klondike gold rush was so glamorized that everyone thought that they could do it. In reality, the gold rush was much harsher than most people thought it was. Another example of symbolism in The Call of The Wild is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She is extremely out of place in the untamed wilds. Jack London uses Mercedes to convey his ideas of this theme. Since she is so used to her pampered life, she expects the wilderness to be the same. Mercedes and Buck are connected in this way. Buck was used to a pampered life, but adapts to the wild by embracing his primitive instincts gradually through the book. Mercedes, on the other hand, is a prime example of all of the bad qualities to have in the wilderness; She is extremely presumptuous, and spoiled. An example of these qualities is when Mercedes wants to be pulled on the sled. It was her custom to be helpless (83). Instead of adapting like Buck does, Mercedes tries to transfer her luxury live to the wild. By adding Buck and Mercedes, Jack London shows that he is not making a value judgment on wealthy people. He shows that two characters can come from the same background, but be entirely different. Another theme is that primitive instincts can be strong. This is mostly shown through Buck. He quickly realizes that he needs to embrace these instincts or die. And not only did he learn by experience, but instincts long dead became alive again. The domesticated generations long dead became alive again (31). This quote shows how powerful Buck s feelings are. After a short time in the wild, Buck s long dead instincts are awakened. Point of View The point of view

  • 9. Analysis Of The Jellyfish By Daniel Quinn Djunny Thiersaint Epifanio Honors World Literature IV 12 November 2014 Ishmael As much as humans don t want to admit it, the world wasn t solely created for us. The novel, Ishmael, written by Daniel Quinn has given us an insight on how the world has been treated by man and how it could end. In a time where the world is being destroyed we need to step up and protect the earth from total destruction. The Taker culture believes that the world was created for them so therefore they can do whatever they want to it without any consequences. The idea that man believes he rules the world is not only false but its constantly causing harm to the planet, Quinn uses a lot of metaphors to try and explain what the takers are doing wrong and what should be fixed. An example would be the jellyfish story, the point of the jellyfish story is to show that man is not the final product of evolution. In Ishmael s story, the jellyfish tells the anthropologist a factual account similar to the narrator s, except that its version ends with the appearance of jellyfish. Ishmael s point is that human culture operates under a creation myth where man is the climax of evolution even though the universe continues to develop and evolution is still occuring, man assumes that the Earth was made for them, since they were its ultimate creation and final product. The narrator then concludes that the premise of the Taker s story is that the world was made for man (Quinn) (61). The jellyfish story gives another
  • 10. How To Train Your Dragon Hero s Journey The movie How to Train your Dragon illustrates the Hero s journey because it has the same concepts and stages a hero would take on their journey. The important stages that the movie specifically demonstrates are: Refusal of the Call, The Ordeal, and The Resurrection. The Refusal of the Call is when the herosenses fear of the unknown and tries to avoid the dilemma, and it s when they refuse to perform what they are asked to do for any reason. In the movie, this is when Hiccup does not want to be a viking because he does not want to kill the night fury Toothless, whom he has already befriended. This night fury was deadly but still refrained from killing Hiccup. The next main stage from the Hero s journey is The Ordeal, which is
  • 11. My Father And Father In Sarah Vowell s Shooting Dad I was mortified when my dad purposely farted in Buehler s. Two minutes prior we had been walking down aisles joking about stuff in the store and poking fun at my little sister. Then all of the sudden he looked around, saw we were pretty much alone in the aisle and farted. I immediately gave him the I cannot believe you just did that look and he just laughed, not seeming to mind that a Buehlers associate was only a couple yards from us. When I think about this it is easy for me to say that I am nothing like my Father. Sarah Vowell also felt very different compared to her dad when she wrote the essay Shooting Dad . However when Vowell looks past their differences she finds how similar she is to her Father. I find this to be true about many child parentrelationships, even if the child does not wish to be like their parents. Children cannot prevent themselves from becoming similar to their parents. Throughout Shooting Dad Vowell discovers how similar she is compared to her Father. She starts off her essay by examining differences between her and her dad by saying, You could have looked at the Democratic campaign poster in the upstairs window and Republican in the downstairs window . This was supposed to demonstrate a major differencebetween Vowell and her Father. However when I read this I see two people who share an intense passion for politics. Instead of showing how different Vowell is from her Father, she shows the reader how similar she is. Vowell remains
  • 12. Why College Is A Successful Life With A Career As of recently, the validity of college has been questioned, is it really necessary to have a college education to be successful? In the past, education was the key to a successful life with a career. However, as of recently, some people don t even have to earn the much coveted bachelor s degree to make as much money as a person that went to school to earn such degree. So the question is what is the purpose of college? Is it really worth all the effort, time, sweat, and tears? Even though times have changed and the reason for going to college has taken a financial turn. I m a firm believer that college certainly has its purpose aside from financial. The person that pushed me to go to college was my mother. In the early 1970s, Goldberg worked as a producer and reporter for CBS news. In 2001, Goldberg released his first book, Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media Distort the News, which became the number one New York Times bestseller. In addition to Bias, he has also written four other books Arrogance, 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America, Crazies to the Left of Me, Wimps to the Right, and A slobbering Love Affair. Goldberg s outstanding journalism has earned him the title as the winner of fourteen Emmy Awards. Having served nearly thirty years at CBS News, Mr. Goldberg had earned a reputation as one of the most original writers and thinkers in broadcast journalism. However, when he observed his own industry, he realized the liberal media had completely missed their mission to give honest news. After years of sharing his observations and promoting more balanced reportings, Goldberg soon realized that no one listened because they believed they were doing the right thing. The liberal bias continued, therefore Bernard Goldbergdecided to take the situation into his own hands and expose the distortion of the media himself. Goldberg s breathtaking and shocking best seller book, Bias, reveals the close mindedness of the news culture and their mission to entertain rather than share facts. • 15. Junot Diaz How To Date A Brown Girl Summary The work of Junot Diaz is powerfully charged, as Diaz consistently slips impactful social messages into every paragraph. Diaz himself is an immigrant to America, and personifies his pains in his literary works. How to Date a Brown Girl is a short story written by Diaz, with a young Dominican immigrant named Yunior as its main character. The struggles of immigrants in America have long been an issue, and Diaz masterfully blends the struggles of fitting in as an immigrant with the struggles of growing up, as How to Date a Brown Girl is filled with connections to larger social issues, if you re looking closely enough. The two main social issues in How to Date a Brown Girl are the struggles of being an immigrant, and the pains of growing up and learning that life isn t always easy. Immigrants in America go through a variety of issues, such as being treated differently than others, despite years of effort by social activists; constantly feeling out of place in a country that s not their home; and almost always having to start at the bottom of the economic chain, which only furthers the degradation of the social image of immigrants. Growing up is a process that every person has to go through, and its issues are well documented but grossly misrepresented. Finding yourself is the most difficult thing some people will do, and its difficulty should be appreciated. Yunior, the main character of How to Date a Brown Girl , is in a country that s not his home, and is going through

The risks in this household were minimal, but there were a few hazards relating to injuries from fall from height of more than five foot. Risks The house did contain some mold on the windows and slight amounts in the bathrooms, but the mold was well controlled. After reviewing several articles on contained mold in the household, there was no evidence to support a concern. No person in the household had a history of a respiratory disease. The main exposure was the potential for falls due to lack of guards on the windows or gates on the stairs. The house is a split level dwelling. There were a total of eight windows on the upper level and two staircases in the home. There is some possible danger of falls from the windows in the upper level of the space and from the stairs. In King county, Washington from 2006 to 2010, there are just under 300 falls every year involving youth under age of 19 years old (King County 2015). Unfortunately, the information did not categorize types of falls, such as from window, playground, deck, furniture, and so forth. The Center for Disease Control reports a decline in the number of falls from 2001 to 2010 (2013). This may be in part due to a campaign in large urban cities to install window guards in low income housing and apartment buildings, as well as to educate the public about the potential
  • 17. The Dictatorship Of North Korea The Dictatorship of North Korea Cambell Nichols Mr. Asphar s P L class. The Democratic System is embraced by a host of countries, and the system is generally regarded as fair and stable in most examples of it being used in politics. The ideal democratic system has many traits, which include; free and fair elections, accountable executives, just and equitable legal systems, and representative parliaments. North Korea, or the Democratic People s Republic of Korea (DPRK), is one of two countries situated on the Korean Peninsula. The country was formed after the Second World War, where the formerly Japanese occupied peninsula was divided along the 38th Parallel. The North was backed primarily by Russian interests, and the South chose to confide in the United States. After the Korean War (1950 53), instigated by the North, the two countries signed an armistice, but no official peace treaties. The North frequently feuds with the South, with aggression at an all time high in recent years. The government of North Korea is a one man state dictatorship, which has been controlled by the Kim family since the country s founding. Free and fair elections, as defined by the Civics and Citizenship textbook, are elections in which citizens must exercise their right to vote without intimidation and Electoral systems must give citizens equal voting power so governments reflect majority will. What this means basically, is that elections must be set up in such a way that citizens who are

The IT recruiting sector relies heavily on the overall health of IT departments within various companies. The IT departments of companies have a lower expectation for budget increases in 2015 (45%) than in 2014 (62%). There is also an increased expectation that their budgets will stay the same (13% more than 2014) and that their budgets will decrease (4% more). The source of the radiation of the electric field at the gap of the edge of the Microstrip element and the ground plane is main factor to the accurate calculation of the pattern for the patch antenna. Simply it can be said that the power radiated or received by the antenna is the function of angular position and radial distribution from the antenna [24]. In the fig.24 [9] below we can see the side view of the rectangular Microstrip element associated with source, and also the radiating of E fields. The radiation pattern of a common dimensional antenna can be seen below, which has side lobe, black lobes which are undesirable as they represent the energy that is wasted for transmitting Antennas and noise sources at the receiving end. 2.6.3 Gain Directivity The gain of the antenna defines the performance of the antenna or the capability to concentrate energy through a direction which give a better picture of the radiation pattern. It is expressed in dB, in a simple way we can say that this refers to the direction of the maximum radiation [24]. The expression for the maximum gain of an antenna is as follows: G=О·xD Eq. The US was keen to assert American influence in eastern Europe by demanding free elections, breaking the Percentages Agreement. Conversely Stalin had upheld his side of the Agreement in regard to the Greek communists. Stalin would have viewed all these actions as an attempt by the US to reorganise the governments in Eastern Europe to align with the open door policy and to coerce the USSR into accepting US policies. During the winter of 1777 to 1778, George Washington s Continental Army set up their post at Valley Forge, a military camp 18 miles northwest of Philadelphia. It was not big enough to be called a village it only had a few fieldstone houses and a mill for forging iron. The Quaker farms in the area offered good food and support for Washington s men, so they accepted. However, as the days went by, they realized that maybe that hadn t been such a good idea. The soldiers in the Continental Armyshould have left Valley Forgebecause of deathand illness, living conditions in camp (lack of food and clothing), and resentment towards Congress. Although Thomas Paine s words of encouragement in the American Crisis were inspirational, this didn t change the fact that the soldiers were suffering due to the extreme conditions in the camp. To begin, the soldiers should have left Valley Forge because there were many soldiers who began dying of death and illnesses that spread across camp. Noel F. Busch states that, by February 1, 1778, 3,989 out of 8,000 soldiers were sick , which was approximately 50% of the total population (Busch, 1974). According to researchers, the low estimate of soldiers who were dying in that year (1778) was 1,800 out of 8,000 people, which was roughly 1 person dead for every 2 soldiers (10%). Still in the debate are the pros and cons of this new system, focusing on the welfare of the child, the parent, the employer, and the taxpayer. Young people today are pressured by society to make physical appearance a dominant factor in their everyday lives, and the pressure is found not only through media influence but friends and family as well (Pavica, 2010). The goal of this study is to observe how the physical state perceived by the individual affects the psychological and emotional states that they incorporate into their everyday lives. From the participants evaluation a greater focus will be on the relations of self assessment to an individual s confidence and self esteem level. The link between these aspects can possibly shed light on how decisions and lives are altered by self interpreted appearance, specifically body image. In addition, there is evidence which supports the theory that body image dissatisfaction affects both genders. By creating and enhancing a positive body image, a person greatly increases their self esteem (Ratanasiripong Burkey, 2011). A study was conducted that asked college aged men to rate their body image either positively or negatively, and found that self perceptions of those overweight were indistinguishable from a similar female sample (Drewnowski Yee, 1987). The confidence we aim to study will be an individual s personal belief in their ability to interact with others, resulting from their positive or negative body perceptions. At this point, it is important to give the operational definitions of all three variables. Body image within the discussion can be conceptualized

Comic relief usually means a releasing of emotional or other tension resulting from a comic episode interposed in the midst of serious or tragic elements in a drama. The use of comedic relief in this play allows for an emotional connection to the play from the audience since it shows that it doesn t have to always be taken so seriously, and it s ok to laugh every now and then. It seems to us that the Indians who have agreed to pay the ordered tax [gold] should wear a token of brass or lead that they can hang from the neck. The design or mark on this token should be changed each time one pays so that it will be known if someone has not paid. Every time persons are found on the island without this token hanging from the neck, have them arrested and given some light penalty. If they would have never told Columbus to come over and penalize anyone who did not do what they asked, the genocide of the Tainos would probably not have happened. Examples Of Dehumanization In Metropolis This weekend I watched on Netflix the film Metropolis (1927, Fritz Lang) and from the film I have found some detailed examples about how the movie itself expresses the German Expressionist theme of alienation/dehumanization resulting from the industrial revolution that moved laborers from agriculture/farm life to factory life in the city. The first example that relates to this theme would be when the movie begins and the underground dwelling workers toil to operate the underground machines that power the city while the higher class people are living better lives. This stands out to the theme because it provided a vivid visual of the underground dwelling workers working very hard to keep the city going and in return they weren t appreciated

You bathe regularly, know how to wash clothes, clean up after yourself, are able to prepare food for yourself, and other tasks such as that. Since coming to college I have realized that it is necessary to know how to care for myself on a day to day basis because there is no one here to remind me to do it. Also, my appearance is a direct reflection of myself and my character. If I walk around smelling bad and appearing disheveled that reflects poorly on me because it appears that I do not know how to properly care for myself. That would reflect poorly on my character and would in turn hurt me financially. I would not be able to get a job because I would not appear qualified. Most adults know how to do the bare minimum at the least, as this can have an effect on the other two aspects of taking care of yourself. Personally, having a religious connection is important to me.
