The Influence Of Parenting Style On Children s Identity
The influence of parenting style may or could have an unfavorable or favorable
impact on a child s identity and emotional stability. Nonetheless, children raised from
other cultural environments, are also things to consider when addressing the question
of emotional stability and identity in children.
Because parenting does not come with a handbook of instructions, parenting style
may be strict neglecting or permissive. According to Broderick, Blewitt, these styles
are better known as permissive, authoritive, neglective uninvolved, and authoritarian
(Broderick, Blewitt,2013). Children s identity may be shaped as a result of the style
of parenting, in some cases the influences of a parents parenting style can be positive
or negative in shaping

Currently 51.8% of United s income is generated through its international fleet, and
48.2% is generated within the domestic market.[iv] United Airlines is headquartered
in Elk Grove Township, Chicago and operates 3,568 daily departures from 31
countries, which includes 225 domestic and international cities. The firm s main hubs
are located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.
Recently, United has shifted its focus to business class and first class passengers.
Characteristics of these two target groups include: booking flights on short notice,
traveling on weekdays, paying full fare, and opting for the premium class. These
travelers place less importance on price and tend to purchase based on service,
schedule, mileage awards, food, seat comfort, ease of connections, direct airport
services, and relative distance to connecting flights.[v] While United has not
specifically identified its mission statement, their web site includes a corporate
responsibility statement which outlines United s key philosophies, values and goals.
In this statement, United identifies four major stakeholders: employees, customers,
partners, and the communities its serves. The company states that it has
responsibility to each of these stakeholder groups by making four major commitments
to each of these stakeholder groups in terms of environmental and social
responsibility.[vi] See appendix 1B
The Three Religions
Pi embraces all aspects of the three religions to give direction to his unorthodox
life. Pi states, A germ of religion exaltation, ..., was sown in me and left to
germinate. It has never stopped growing since that day (Martel 47). Pi s dedication
towards three religion keeps on growing each day. Regardless of what the three
devout religious figures complain about the weakness of each religion, Pi stayed true
to his belief and claims he only wants to love Godin spite of the difference between
the three religions he believed in. Pi once again displays his infinite faith when faced
with a life and death situation. When the Tsimtsum ship sank and he is deep in the

San Fransisco Narrative
We drove up the coast to San Fransisco and it took forever! Someone broke in, I got
promoted and we saw the Phillies lose to the Dodgers. I got stuck in the airport for
2 days, we found Randy s donuts and stayed in an airstream in the middle of
Malibu. I was able to start recording with bands and play shows in historic venues
like Whiskey A Go Go, The Mint and The Viper Room. We found Marty McFly s
house and hung out at the Pawnee Municipal building...its in Pasadena...no Indiana.
We became Disneyland Passholders and have gone as often as possible...celebrating
most holidays and birthdays there. I even spent Back to the Future day there and then
watched all three movies back to back. We have explored museums, found Santa

Year Round School
Imagine if you had a 3 week vacation every 8 weeks. This is what happens during
year round schooling. Whether or not Florida schools should convert to year round
schooling is a recent problem. Florida schools should convert to year round
schooling because it keeps the learning process going and gives students/staff breaks
throughout the year. Many people believe it may cause problems with other schools
but the benefits outweigh the problems and Florida needs to switch to year round
school.
One of the reasons Florida should convert to year round schooling keeps the learning

Death And The Black Death
The Black Death
The Black Death was a plague that devastated Europe in the fourteenth century.
Trade routes, especially, were overrun with people dying from this plague. These
trade routes were covered in dirt and full of plenty of people in close quarters,
making this plague more damaging. About one out of three people died at the
hand of this vile disease, and no one could figure out how it was spread. Anarchy
spread throughout Europe. People guessed the causes and tried to deal with the
disease, but it still spread like wildfire. Some regions were spared from this plague,
but plenty towns were almost completely wiped out (Pavlac 177). The Black Death
caused many people in fourteenth century Europe to go to the extremes in behavior
and religion.
Petrarch s view of the plague was painfully poetic and bleak. He depicted people as
terrified and confused, while expressing his own fear. The turmoil in his letter
shows that no one truly seemed to know what was happening, which just caused
more chaos and terror. Petrarch himself was consumed with worry about his fate,
and seemed to feel as if the plague was caused by the wrath of God, for certainly I
would think that our misdeeds deserve it (Petrarch). Clearly the people of Europe
must have done something to anger God, according to Petrarch. He believes, like
many others during this period, that the people of Europe deserved this terrible
plague, even though he despised the conditions and anarchy. Fear clouded the
Therapeutic Hypothermia
Development of Therapeutic Hypothermia The importance of temperature
management in the treatment of individuals afflicted by various medical ailments
has been known for centuries with one of the earliest instances of this knowledge
being recorded in the height of the Greek s classical period. Hippocrates, a Greek
physiciancommonly known as the father in medicine, was the first to describe the
medical condition of hypothermia and note the importance of temperature in regards
to some medical conditions. The following excerpt from Hippocrates writings
demonstrates his rudimentary understanding of the correlation between temperature
and medical conditions, Old men have little warmth ... for this reason, fevers are not

Shortly after the publication of these studies, the International Liaison Committee on
Resuscitation, endorsed the use of therapeutic hypothermia stating that patients with
a Glasgow coma scale of eight or less who regained spontaneous circulation after an
out of hospital cardiac arrest and initially presented with ventricular fibrillation
should be cooled to a core body temperature between 32 to 34 ВєC and remain at that
temperature for 12 to 24 hours (Nolan et al., 2003, p. 118 121). The American
Heart Association soon followed suit and in 2010 proposed a nearly identical
protocol, adding patients who first presented with ventricular tachycardia to the
group of individuals who were eligible for this type of medical treatment (Peberdy et
al., 2010, p.
Christ Crucifixion
The Dream of The Rood is considered one of the finest of religious poems written
during the Anglo Saxon period (Book). The poem begins with the narrator, whom
the reader later discovers is the rood, stating that he or she is going to talk about a
dream. In said dream, the most beautiful tree is spotted glistening with gold and
gems; the tree then begins to bleed from the right side. The entirety of the poem is
describing, from the rood s point of view, the crucifixionof JesusChrist. The poem
has many aspects of Anglo Saxon literature, and differs in several ways from the
actual bible telling of the crucifixion; in The Dream of The Rood, Jesus is depicted
as more of an anglo saxon like warrior, the cross endures more pain than Jesus
himself, and
Before the belief of the afterlife in Heaven, derived heavily from Christianity, men
believed that they would be remembered for generations to come solely by the
heroic and chivalrous acts they had done in their lifetime. The typical Anglo Saxon
hero was a warrior; he was strong, intelligent, courageous and willing to fight to
death for the love of their lords or kings (Kundu). The poet of The Dream of The
Rood , depicts Jesus as a warrior; he feels no pain or humiliation during the
crucifixion, and the poet downplays many aspects of the biblical crucifixion in order

He or she referred to Christ only as the young hero and the warrior. This creates an
entirely different perception of the crucifixion; this diction, or word choice, creates
a vivid image of Christ that parallels that of Beowulf. Beowulf, an admired mythical
hero, was the ideal example of an Anglo Saxon hero, he goes into nearly every fight
stating that he is eager to plunge into battle. In The Dream of The Rood, Christ is
illustrated as having strength, vigor, and courage just like

Mythology is many different peoples or religions way of explaining certain things
and happenings like why echoes are caused. The story that only has echo in it and
no narcissus is that the god Juno decided to take away echoes ability to ask
questions or engage in conversations and over time echoes body withered away
leaving only her voice to repeat what someone says. Some cultures have many gods
like japan who have kami who are not gods of faith but rather of landscape, specific
weather or objects, due to that Shintotradition says there are eight million kami in
japan. Considering kami are specific objects that means there is a toilet kami whose
name is Mawaya no kami there is also two different god of roads being Koshin and

Definitely the first question that came to mind. Well this encyclopedia I have right
here will tell you, in my own adaptation of course. The word myth was made by the
Greeks who first used it as a story that was told by mouth . Primitive people
believed that if they pretended things were theirs fortunate things would happen.
They would try to influence ran to come down from the sky or kill enemies by
drawing pictures of them and for example stab the drawings. At some point the stories
began increasing in length and more complex. The word legend came much further in
history (legere is the Latin word meaning to read ). Eventually myths mixed with
legends and the person telling them began to believe they were true. As people
discovered more ancient ruins and more about their stories were got a better
understanding of various cultures societies and how they worked. Hopefully you

My favorite place has to be a beach that is in this wonderful place called Grand Turk.
Grand Turk is an island that many cruise ships go to and is by far the best place to go
on a cruise. There is an abundance of reasons why this beach is so amazing to me.
As soon as you get there, there is a short walk to the side of the beach. One of the
best things about this beach is that there not many people that live there and it is
really spread out and there is a lot to do. As you walk up on to the beach, you can
feel the warm soft sand between your toes and hear the waves crashing down onto the
shore. If you keep going further down the beach there is this one place called Jack s

Hester as an Imperfect Heroine
The Scarlet Letter, a story of Hester Prynne and her paramour, Reverend Dimmesdale,
and her malicious husband in pursuit for revenge, Roger Chillingworth. The novel
begins in the Puritan society in Boston, Massachusetts, during the 1640 s. The town
first ostracizes Hester because of their strong religious beliefs. Hester is then faced
with an immense struggle against the town and Roger Chillingworth. Through this
struggle she is developed into a heroine, or a woman admired for her courage,
achievements, or noble qualities; although she is not the perfect heroine because she
starts her journey at the lowest point in Puritan society, in sin. In Nathaniel Hawthorne
s The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne overcomes the Puritan community and Roger
Chillingworth to defy adversity and become a heroine whom everyone to admire.
Even though the Puritan society aims to discourage Hester, she finds a way to
display her pride and grace. To begin, Hester makes her way out of jail exhibiting
her dignity when appearing with the scarlet letter before the town: On the breast of
her gown, in fine red cloth surrounded with an elaborate embroidery and fantastic
flourishes of gold thread, appeared the letter A. It was so artistically done, and with
so much fertility and gorgeous luxuriance of fancy, that it had all the effect of a last
and fitting decoration to the apparel which she wore... (37).
The Role Of Fictive Kins In African American Culture
In the study of agronomy, it is the basic understanding that the root is the most
important component of any plant. In the dictionary, the word root is defined as
the part of the plant that latches to the ground for support, growth, and nutrition.
Now any reader maybe wondering where my mind is wondering to, when I start a
paper with such an obvious fact. However, in this case it is not just a fact, it is an
analogy for something much deeper. In the African American culture, it is not
uncommon to refer to someone as a fictive kin . Fictive kin is a term dubbed for
someone who is either not related or indirectivity related to oneself. So, in other
terms if the individual is not either a direct sibling, guardian, uncle, aunt,
grandparent, or cousin, but they have left a positive impact on oneself they are
considered fictive kin. This term was formed back in the slave trafficking days,
when families where torn apart, and individuals were forced to form bonds with
individuals who were not directly related to them. In today s world, this word is still
popular in this demographic, but has morphed in meaning and expanded into other
living segments as well. Even though, I am not African American, I still share a
similar experience of dubbing someone I love my fictive kin.... Show more content on

Conquering Other People Is Not A Waste Of Resources And
Time
There are no valid reasons for conquering other people. To conquer another is to
gain control over, or to use force against, conquering other people implies a use of
force, such as to kill or to enslave. Not only is this ethically wrong it is also costly.
Conquering is a term that describes something far beyond persuasion it is an
overtaking and an exploitation of another population. It is incorrect for one group
to behave in such away as to take away or impose beliefs that take away the right of
anyone to not have the liberty to choose. In addition to the taking away of rights,
this behavior can be financially expensive and time consuming. It costs a lot of
money to sail a ship to long distances, they would have to pay for food, water,
emergencies, fuel and man power. Because of all of the prior reasons, conquering
other people is a waste of resources and time. If you want someone to truly follow
and live a particular religion they must be allow the liberty and freedom to explore
and choose this for themselves. Overall to conquer another holds little validity for
those with a mindset that believes in choice and the human right of agency.
Humanism was a very big key idea in the renaissance, it is the belief that humans have
intrinsic worth. Art was another main idea in the renaissance, In the renaissance there

The Battle Of The War On Southeast Asia
Beginning in 1940 with the successful invasion of French Indochina, the Empire of
Japan displayed power over the colonialists from the Battle of Malaya to their
occupation of the Andaman and Nicobar islands. The prelude to Japan s war on
Southeast Asia was its concurrent war against China which had started in 1937. As a
result of this invasion, culture within Southeast Asia was changed. There are varying
other factors to include when identifying how this occupation changed what was
currently then known as the Dutch East Indies, which includes the somewhat linear
and consistently rising changes socially, politically and economically.1 The
beginning of regular contact between Europeans and the people of Indonesia began in
1512, but it wasn t until 1800 that the government in the Netherlands established the
Dutch East Indies.2 For the duration of Dutch rule, their hold on the Dutch East
Indies was weak outside of coastal strongholds but it wasn t until the early 20th
century that their lands extend to what is currently recognized to be Indonesia s
borders.3 A nationalist movement had been undertaken by the people of Indonesia,
however was often suppressed by the Dutch. With this movement beginning in 1908 it
wasn t until 1945 until the Nationalist Revolution had begun. Lasting four years, the
Dutch were consistently able to maintain industrial assets, towns and major cities but
found themselves with the inability to control the countryside.4 The inspiration for

Comparison Of Anne Bradstreet s Memory Of My Dear...
A comparison of Anne Bradstreet s In Memory of My Dear Grandchild Elizabeth
Bradstreet and Edward Taylors Upon Wedlock, and Death of Children. Taylor and
Bradstreet have different relationships to their children in each of their poems. In
the poems the writers explain that death, in some way, is a natural course and
compare it with the diverse aspects of nature. Both Taylor and Bradstreet attempt to
reunite the faith they have in God even when they suffer the loss of a child. These
poems seem very similar just by first glance because of the content displayed and
the use of their tone. However, they do tend to stray apart on several main ideas.
Taylor resorts to a Puritan reaction towards the tragedy of his loss, which gives the
reader a feeling of pity for him as he would be the man whom loves God and the
caring father role. Conversely, Bradstreet displays her expression of loss in a
rather unique way of blame towards God. Taylor has an understanding state of
mind toward the loss of his children, but he also mourns heavily over his loss.
Taylor uses a common word throughout his poem, which is flowers. He compares his
kids to flowers that are metaphorically growing from a True Love Knot , which can
also be referred to as a flower bed. He really emphasizes the gorgeous appearance of
the flowers that seem to grow in his garden in the first two stanzas of the poem. In
Taylor s poem he rejoices his marriage and the birth of his kids as a grateful and
glorious day.
Harmful Effects Of Recycling In Landfills
Recycling programs are in place all around the world yet most trash still ends up in
a landfill. When something is being decomposed, it s being broken down slowly.
When something is being decomposed by living bacteria or other living organisms
then it is biodegradable. As an effect of this, eventually, the materials will be fully
broken down. In landfills, most materials start to decompose (North and Halden
2013). Materials such as extruded polystyrenefoam, plastic, and paper that are in
landfills can cause pollution. Pollution is the act of introducing something that will
bring harmful effects. Biodegradation helps to reduce the amount of trash in landfills
so that landfills do not become full of capacity.
About 30% of landfill space is filled with extruded polystyrene foam products alone
(Little 2017). Landfills are quickly being filled and very soon there will not be
enough space in the world to place trash. extruded polystyrene foam is a material
that decomposes over a long period. Inside extruded polystyrene foam is a chemical
called Styrene which leaches into substances leading to water pollution when it
precipitates and the runoff goes into nearby bodies of water (Little 2017). When
something leaches it is being percolated into another liquid or substance.
34 million tons of plastic were produced in 2008 in the United States alone and 86%
ended up in landfills (North and Halden 2013). That s a lot of plastic that ended up in
landfills. Over the years the numbers

Contrasting Responsibility in Carver s Fever and...
What allows a human being to constantly face up to the responsibilities of life?
What makes a mother or father continue to clothe, feed, and pick up their child from
school? What makes a person wake up every morning to go to a job he or she hates,
come home, and begin the whole process the following morning? Is it responsibility
that makes a person do what they have to do, or rather is it fearing the consequence?
Truthfully, this would depend on the situation. Parents would most likely fulfill their
responsibility towards their child or children because of love; but a person who hates
his or her job probably continues to do it fearing the consequence of unemployment.
In the end, one realizes that despite all the responsibilities a person... Show more

As the plot is established, one realizes that Sonny has been arrested for using heroin
and sent to rehabilitation. Consequently, Sonny s brother is so disappointed in him
that he initially refuses to even contact him until he writes a letter to inform Sonny of
his daughter s death. When Sonny responds, the first words he writes are, You don t
know how much I needed to hear from you (6). This opening sentence jolts Sonny s
brother into realizing that at the moment his brother needed him the most, he did not
even bother to at least acknowledge him.
Before passing away, the narrator s mother made him promise to always take care
of Sonny: You got to hold on to your brother, she said, and don t let him fall, no
matter what it looks like is happening to him and no matter how evil you gets with
him. You going to be evil with him many a time. But don t you forget what I told
you, you hear? (14). The narrator s initial lack of contact might seem that he has
forgotten his promise and his responsibility as an older brother. Realistically though,
the narrator is angry at Sonny s decisions to take heroin and consequently get
arrested. This anger that he holds is preventing him from fulfilling his promise and
his responsibility; however, when he receives the letter from Sonny stating, You don
t know how much I needed you , the anger dissipates and he realizes that his younger
brother is in need of guidance and love rather than anger and ignorance.
Essay on Little Red Riding Hood
Throughout literature, authors employ a variety of strategies to highlight the central
message being conveyed to the audience. Analyzing pieces of literature through the
gender critics lens accentuates what the author believes to be masculine or feminine
and that society and culture determines the genderresponsibility of an individual. In
the classic fairytale Little Red Riding Hood, the gender strategies appear through the
typical fragile women of the mother and the grandmother, the heartless and clever
malewolf, and the naГЇve and vulnerable girl as little red riding hood. In the classical
tale of Little Red Riding Hood, Little Red Riding Hood leaves her mother to visit her
grandmother, and both the women possess the feminine... Show more content on

Highlighting that the women were inferior to him, the wolf plans to be clever about
this that the [he] can make a good meal out of the two of them (Hyman 8). He
gradually formulates a strategy to hoodwink the adolescent into entrusting him. By
doing this, he reveals that the author subconsciously believes men to be of such
evasiveness. He seems gentle and kind, but his true character lies under the mask of
kindness. The gentle wolves become the most dangerous in these varieties of
narratives, because they shadow the infantile, naГЇve girls, and swindle them into
trusting them before they commence to do the unthinkable act of deceiving the
women (Bettelheim 168). The wolf s superior nature as a male character provides
a character foil for the lady like traits of Little Red Riding Hood as he overpowers
her with his male authority and intelligence. As Little Red Riding Hood blindly
follows the wolf s commands and becomes the weaker of the two characters, she
proves the idea that being raised in a society where the women continue to allow
themselves to be suppressed into the kitchen and household chores affects the
gender role that she takes on herself. As Little Red Riding Hood begins to leave on
her journey, her mother proves her lack of faith in the intelligence of her daughter as
she instructs her to not daydream and stray off the path (Hyman 3). She continues on
her journey, and the wolf sees her from
A Long Distance Relationship Is A Thought That Makes
Most...
A long distance relationship is a thought that makes most couples cringe. The
thought of being miles upon miles away is something that can make people
question the strength of their relationship. However, this trend of long distance is
something that is becoming more and more common with the advancement of
technology such as video chatting sources like Facetime or Skype. This trend is
something I ve personally noticed many college students, especially freshmen,
experiencing. They have their high school sweetheart that is suddenly moving
miles away to another college. They do not know how to handle it but, of course,
they try and make it work. I am much like all these people except I never had the
experience of living close to my significant other. We ve always been miles apart,
seven hundred and seventy eight to be exact. And even though it has its hard times, it
always seems worth it when we re together. I am by no means an expert, but I am
hoping that through my experiences, I can inspire someone to try and make it work.
What I ve figured out is how important communication is. It is so important to
communicate everything. If something he or she does makes you uncomfortable, let
him know. If he says the sweetest thing in the world to you and it makes your heart
melt, let him know. By keeping things bottled up in your head, its just going to make
you frustrated, upset, and most likely, hurt. Long distance relationships are so
complicated. There is no set formula to them.

The Impact Of Sexism On Social Media
Women experience several occasions where they feel harassed or discriminated
because of their gender. There are things that need to change in order to make
women feel safe when exploring the internet. Sexism on social media has become a
major problem over the past years, it lowers the self esteem of women and makes
them feel inferior. As a society, there are changes that must be made in order to fix
this problem.
Sexist content on social media is becoming a bigger problem as more and more
people are using the internet daily. Both Yvette Cooper and Ashley Judd
, believe there
are several things people can do to fix this problem. Author Yvette Cooper states that
change on sexist content is vital because it not only affects women of this generation
but it also affects future generations. She believes that it s important society teaches
the next generations that sexism on social media is not normal. At the TEDWomen
event, actress Ashley Judd, talked about her experience and how she felt when she
would receive sexist comments online. She states the change is crucial and the
government has to do something to try and fix it. She states there has to be more
rules and regulations among the internet in order to stop sexism on social media. On
the other hand, Lebanese nut company, Alrifai, advertised their products in a sexist
manner. The nuts in the advertisements were compared to men and women and how
they are viewed based on their looks. Advertisements like these are proof that

Throughout the concert, I really like the piece Rosy Dawn by Hanying Zeng. I tried
to find some history context about this piece but I found nothing. So, I will only give

played in this piece were two violins, one viola, and one cello. This piece of music is
for string quartet, which comprising a theme with three variations and a coda. The
theme is in minor and then turn to major, describes the dark and fog image before the

The music itself was absolutely beautiful. This music made me get in touch with
the deepest in my soul by its enchanting melody. I love this music and the mood it
creates. No words could describe how amazing it was. It was wonderful to sit down,
close the eyes and just listening. It was so much feeling, beautiful, calming, relaxing
and quality music. Especially, the performers played with so much emotion. This
stole my breath away. It was very sound control and beautiful rubato. The music was
totally awesome and I really enjoyed it. The point of the melody was clear throughout
the whole piece with the awesome harmony. In addition, the audiences were very
quiet listening to the musicians playing. There was nothing distracting me during the
concert. Everything went well. Totally, the music sounded great and people were
quiet. I felt so relaxed, refreshed and energized. That was my chance to watch the

Chemistry Is Essential For An Average Individual
Chemistry is a branch of physical science that studies the arrangement, structure, and
change of matter. As a student interested in nursing, it is required to take the course
of chemistry among many other pre requisite courses. When reviewing the course
syllabus I thought to myself, What is this stuff, and when am I going to ever use it in
Nursing? Also to all incoming non science majors who are required to take chemistry,
this course may be the last course you would even think about taking. Believe it or
not, there is more to chemistry besides science. I ve learned that chemistry is
actually an interesting field of study. Chemistry actually plays a role in everyone s
lives and touches almost every feature of our existence in some way. The lessons I
learned throughout this course can actually apply to the everyday life of an
average individual. Even for those non science majors, the lessons from this course
can most likely be applied to not only your major, but more importantly your
survival on Earth. Chemistry is essential for meeting our basic needs of food,
health, clothing, shelter, energy, clean air, water, and soil. Having chemistry
knowledge is worthwhile because it provides a basis for understanding the physical
universe we live in. Throughout this course, I found how almost every lesson could
apply to everyday life. For instance I found the lessons of the basic concepts of matter
, measurements in chemistry and chemical equations, along with the study of solvents

Survey OF Old Testament
Prof. Martin Lyons
21 September 2017
There are multiple debates and arguments concerning the creation story of both
mankind and the universe from the Bible and the Babylonian creation poem the
Enuma Elish. There is a debate on whether the two accounts have similarities or one
of them borrowed its content from the other. Enuma Elish is a great Assyrian poem
which narrates the story of the creation of the world and man. The poem contains
what the old empires believed concerning the creation of the universe. This
Babylonian and Assyrian poem gives an account of how Apsu (fresh water) and
Tiamat (sea water) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then God said, Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they
may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all
the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. (Gen
1:26). Contrary to Genesis, in EE man is a servant to the gods. The main purpose
of man s creation was for the gods to be free from work. Their work was mainly to
lessen all types of physical labor to the gods. That the service of the gods may be
established, and that their shrines may be built (cf. EE VI.5 9). It was God s
purpose for man to take care of the garden. Contrary to EE, God s purpose was not
to lessen the number of activities he had; He wanted to have fellowship with man.
Thirdly, both accounts express the existence of chaotic state before creation. The
fact is there is no order depicted in both accounts. In verses two of Genesis the
Bible states ...Now the earth was formless and empty. No presence of any living
creature because of this chaotic nature. Similarly, to Genesis account, EE chaotic
nature of the universe is mainly due to the absence of gods. Tiamat and Apsu both
represent aspects of the physical world. Apsu is a god of fresh water and fertility
while Tiamat goddess of the sea, therefore, chaos and threat. The fierce battle between
Marduk and Tiamat replaces Apsu and Tiamat Chaotic nature. And
The Day After The Boston Marathon Attack
After the Boston marathon attack in 2013, there was people who were very
mournful of what had happened, and who were very fearful of what was to come.
Media at the time were being very desolate and grieving those who had died.
Stephen Colbert, the host of The Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert, decided to
take a different approach. In the introduction to his show the day after the attack, he
addresses what had happened to ease the minds of his audience in an ironic
humorous way. He was very serious about the situation but, he decided that adding
comedywas suitable. By using Pathos, in paradoxical way, he could lift spirits and
hide sorrow underneath comedy in a very effective way.
Stephen Colbert always opens his show by yelling, tonight, and then playing an
introduction video. However, on this occasion after yelling tonight, the video does
not play and he catches his viewer off guard. He the leans into the camera and says
in a very soft spoken way, hey look, before we begin I just want to take a moment to
talk about the attack in Boston yesterday. By the way he says this line in a very
serious tone, it leads his audience to believe that they are going to hear the same,
beat to death, mournful lines that they have heard since the attack. He then says, now
obviously, our thoughts and our prays are with everyone there, and this line is very
special because he gives foreshadowing that this is not going to be the typical news
cast.

Integrated Management Of Projects And Systems
1. Abstract
Software Development has progressed far in recent years, with Agile software
development methodologies contributing to the success of projects and customer
satisfaction. This feasibility study will examine the potential implications involved
with implementing the Integrated Management of Projects and Systems (IMPS)
system using an Agile method. The system will assist Software Engineers in
Communications, Requirements Gathering, Quality Control, and project
management. The IMPS system aims to solve remote communications issues and
technical complexity barriers faced by non technical stakeholders involved in
software projects, resulting in decreased operating costs and increased productivity.
The system will be introduced to the organization gradually as it is development, with
a minimum of disruption.
2. Study introduction
Information Technology (IT) has become a significant part of any work conducted in
a technical capacity, whether this is via job assistance, or enablement.
Communications, record keeping, and employee management all rely heavily upon
IT systems to operate. Engineering jobs rely on IT systems to augment and assist to a
greater degree than other areas due to the technical nature of the work. Nowhere is
this more true than in Software Engineering, where technical details and their
representation is key to the success of any project. It has been found that face to face
meetings are still unmatched in effective communication.

Piano Types Of The Piano
With so many different piano types out there, it s easy to get bogged down with
looks, sizes, abilities, and sounds. In a nutshell, though, a piano will always be a
keyboard musical instrument with a wooden case enclosing a soundboard and metal
strings, which are struck by hammers when the keys are depressed. (Thanks Google).
As you may know, our modern piano is technically the piano forte, but you ll have to
check out our history of the piano post next week to get more info on that. Start
getting excited.
So without further ado, here is a guide to the different piano types the tall ones, the
skinny ones, the short ones, and the fat ones. Oh, and the electric ones too. You

Piano Types: The Grand Piano
Without dipping into the history too much, here s the gist: the grand piano, as we
know it, appeared on the scene around the year 1700, courtesy of Cristofori. Since
then, we have seen a number of variations and changes, and you can basically take
your pick regarding size and capabilities.
Believe it or not, the term grand didn t always apply exclusively to horizontal pianos
it simply referred to the length of the strings. Over time, though, Grand Pianos have
become entirely horizontal, and upright pianos are never referred to as grand.
Because we musicians like to box huge ranges of subject matter into neat little boxes,

The Threat Of Food Sources
THREAT TO FOOD SOURCES
Climate change doesn t just mean that certain species will suffer from the loss of
habitat. There will be a cascade effect up and down the food chain, affecting the
most basic species of prey and apex predators alike. Dominant predators with a
strong preference for a carnivorous diet are arguably more vulnerable to destruction
of their environments. If the prey population suffers, it directly affects the survival
of the predators that depend on them. Polar bears have an especially focused diet,
and seals are their prefered prey. Interestingly, the milk produced by polar bear
mothers is more similar to that of pinnipeds (seals) than it is to milk of most
terrestrial mammals (Amstrup, 599). Like polar bears, several species of seal depend
on a reliable presence of sea ice in order to breed (Derocher 2004, p. 168). A
dwindling seal population will almost certainly affect polar bears.
Polar bears are unique from their omnivorous cousins in that they have adapted to an
arctic climate with a specialized diet. Ringed seals make up the majority of their
diet, along with other species of seal, whales, and walruses (Thiemann 2008, p.
591). Although I have previously argued here is some hope that polar bears can
adapt to different food sources like geese and caribou, further research indicates that
a diet of land animals such as geese and their eggs is a poor substitute. First of all,
the list of prey I mentioned all have one thing in common: A thick
Writing Out Notes And Homework On A Computer
With technology s new advancements, students are getting their homework done a lot
sooner than they used to by writing their notes out on the computer instead of on
paper. Is getting homework done faster worth having to study longer later? Writing
out notes and homework by hand has more educational benefits than typing notes and
homework on a computer. Various studies have proven that writingnotes have a
variety of benefits that exceed those of typing notes on a computer; retention rate,
distractions, and higher grades.
In an experiment done by Mueller and Oppenheimer, students were instructed to take
notes, some students did so by hand, others by laptops. Afterwards, they were given a

The results were that those who took the standard class had considerably higher
marks than those who took the hybrid class. Those in the hybrid course earned an
average of only 69.2% while the students in the lecture earned an average of 77.9%.
According to the researchers, students in the hybrid course were less engaged with
the material than those in the traditional section. (Adams) This is why they believe
that those who took the standard class were more successful in earning better grades
than the other students. In a different study by Robert Williams and Allan Eggert,
Notetaking aids one s ability to recall noted information and do well on exams related
to that information. This is why it is so important for students to take notes in class.
When you write out notes in class while the teacher is talking, you are forced to listen
and summarize the key points of the lecture because writing notes are significantly
slower than typing the notes. When students take notes on computers, they generally
tend to type exactly what is being said instead of focusing on why it is important.
When these students go back and read their notes, they don t have a decent
conceptual understanding of what was written beforehand. COnsequently, these
students need to spend more time studying to get the same results as

poverty, and not thy will (Shakespeare 5.1.79). Presently, Romeo tells the
Apothecary that he is paying for the poison and not his will to sell it to him.
Surely, if the Apothecary warned Romeo s parents he would still be alive.
Meanwhile, Juliet asks the Nurse what is the masked Romeo s name for she would

The Beatles and The British Invasion The only successful invasion to happen on
America s soil was the British Invasion of the early 1960 s, and thankfully it was a
beneficial one to the United States at that. The tide of new music that was the British
Invasion housed one of the music industry s most influential groups, which was The
Beatles. They established themselves in Liverpool, United Kingdom in 1960 and
started out doing covers of songs, some of these being American songs, but their real
success began when they started writing their own music. The British Invasion
included several other influential bands such as The Who, the Rolling Stones, the
Dave Clarke Five, the Hollies and much more but the Beatles were undisputedly the
most influential band of these music groups. The United States was so receptive of the

The Lack Of A Central Holocaust Memorial
ecrying the lack of a central Holocaust memorial in Germany, a group of German
citizens begins a decade long campaign for a highly visible, national Memorial to
Europe s Murdered Jews. The idea for the memorial is first proposed by journalist
Lea Rosh and historian Eberhard Jaeckel who together had made a documentary
about the deportation and mass murder of Europe s Jews between 1933 and 1945.
November 1992
Key decisions
The German government decides that the memorial should be devoted only to Jewish
victims of the Holocaust and designates a prominent location in the center of the
newly unified city of Berlin: The five acre site will lie due south of the Brandenburg
Gate, which until 1989 had divided East and West Berlin. The site is also just a few
steps from the buried remains of the bunker where Adolf Hitler committed suicide.
Amidst the Berlin s tremendous construction boom (which garnered it the nickname
Europe s Hong Kong ), the monument is but one of many construction projects that
anticipate the relocation of the German federal government from Bonn to Berlin by
the year 2001 the same year that the monument is scheduled to be unveiled.

Germany dedicates one of its central monuments, the Neue Wache, or New Guard
House, to the victims of war and tyranny. Inside is a classical statue of a woman

Subtypes Of Internet Addiction
In the previous decade, the growth rate of internet addiction is increasing all over
the world (Goel.D, et.al, 2013). In the urban India there were almost 5 million
active users of internet present as per 2000 stats but now as per 2008 it has been
increased to 42 million active users of internet.
Adolescents are more likely to be vulnerable to internet addiction as compared to
any other sections of the society. This is because of the leisure and liberty children
are exposed to these days. There are many different aspects such as ease of internet
use among adolescents, availability of time, unlimited access to internet, curiosity to

but also the personal lives of its residents. A new class system had begun to form,
beginning with the emergence of a new middle class. Women were especially
affected by this, because as they were expected to live off of their husbands and
thrive solely on society and their own families, it became increasingly important to

The dissimilarities between a lower class bride and her upper class in laws also
mirror the major differences between a ?woman? and the more favored ?lady?.
Can there be a choice of agency between a delicate, consumptive maid, fatigued
with her day s hard work, and a buxom, well constituted lady, whose greatest
exertion has been a drive in the park and the handing to her man a few cards to be
left at friends doors? The one is a servant, the other a lady; and physiogical conditions
stand nowhere in the face of such divine distinctions? (The Victorian Web).
A woman was poorly kept, did her own housework, and took care of her own
children. She was most often a part of the female population in urban areas, and
was almost always of low social status. A woman may have had to work alongside her
husband in a factory to help feed her family, and was not formally educated in
academics or social etiquette. A lady, on the other hand, hardly ever did her own
work. She dressed well, spoke well, and entertained well. She was well educated and
well maintained, and always dressed in the finest of fabrics and carried herself like
royalty. Her children were taken care of by governesses (who were, of course, just
women themselves) and this lady was nearly always a member of upper, or upper
middle class. One of the grand appeals of marrying well was the possibility of
becoming a lady?but
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) was launched in 1999, making its name
as the world s first leading global benchmark for sustainability. This index consists of
the top 10% of the largest 2,500 companies in terms of sustainability. Corporate
sustainability is the business approach that formulates long term shareholder value by
grasping opportunities and controlling risks created from economic, environmental
and social development. Sustainabilityserves as opportunities and risks that
companies must adjust to and is critical to the creation of long term shareholder
value, especially in an increasingly resource constrained world. The DJSI has become
an effective engagement platform as it encourages competition among companies for

If companies that meet a certain size criteria decide not to participate, RobecoSAM
completes the questionnaire to their fullest extent based on publically available
information. The Assessed Universe is created following the results of the CSA
questionnaire as a result of companies are ranked against peers according to their
Total Sustainability Score. RobecoSAM then continues to monitor new coverage of
the companies in the universe on a daily basis, whether it is through media stories,
RepRisk, and etc., in order to analyze the company s involvement with the
environmental, social, economic issues that may negatively effect one s reputation
and core business. Through careful observation of the universe, RobecoSAM is
able to in decide whether a company s policies, processes, management systems, and
commitments shape into excellent positive performance. RobecoSAM then has 59
industries roll up into 24 global industry groups so that the top scoring company
from each is included on the DJSI. Not only does RobecoSAM stand as the basis for
the development of the DJSI, but it also provides insights used to conduct empirical
in house research or is used to measure the impact of corporate sustainability
performance on financial performance.
The triple bottom line is measured in three different categories including social,
environmental, and financial factors. The financial factors are easy to measure
Gentrification, By Ruth Glass
The term Gentrification was coined by British sociologist Ruth Glass in 1964 to
describe the influx of the middle class displacing lower class worker residents in
urban neighbourhoods; her example was London, and its working class who
resided in the London Borough of Islington. The term was published in Ruth Glass
book London: aspects of change she stated that One by one, many of the working
class neighbourhoods of London have been invaded by the middle classes upper
and lower. she also claimed that Once this process of gentrification starts in a
district it goes on rapidly, until all or most of the original working class occupiers
are displaced and the whole social character of the district is changed. Gentrification
is a multifaceted phenomenon which has been defined differently over the years,
there is no concrete definition. Before we look at whether Gentrification is actually
damaging the lower class society, we must first focus on the causes of
Gentrification and then we may proceed to look at its effects. Many sociologist have
tried to explain the roots and the reasons for the existence of Gentrification and why
it is spreading. Sociologists Bruce London and J. John Palen came up with a list of
five explanations these were: demographic ecological, socio cultural, political
economical, community networks, and social movements. These explanations were
published in a book in 1984 called Gentrification, Displacement, and Neighborhood
Revitalization . Many

The Architecture Of The Italian Renaissance
Theatre architecture in Italy was most exciting during the Italian Renaissance. So we
are going to look at the architecture of three very important theatres from the Italian
Renaissance and see how they not only influenced each other but also how they have
influenced the architecture of theatres today. We are going to start in Vicenza, Italy
with the Teatro Olimpico, make our way over to Sabbioneta, Italy to the Teatro all
antica and then end up in Parma, Italy where the Teatro Farnese is located. Not only
is Teatro Olimpico the oldest surviving Rennaissance theatre but it was one of the
first permanent theatres to be constructed during the Italian Renaissance. The
architect, Andrea Palladiowas a student of Marcus VitruviusPollio who inspired
Palladio s design for the theatre. In his article The Influence of Vitruvius on Theatre
Architecture, Donald C. Mullin explains that Vitruvius wrote his treatise De
Architectura Libri Decem in the year 20 B.C. . His treatise contains a variation of
information on Greek and Roman buildings, along with instructions for the planning
and design of military camps, cities, and structures both large (aqueducts, buildings,
baths, harbors) and small (machines, measuring devices, instruments). People think
that this was the first book on architectural theory, as well as a huge cause of
Classical Architecture. Which is exactly what Palladio wanted to convey in his
design. He was asked by the Olympic Academy of Vicenza to design this

  • 8. Death And The Black Death The Black Death The Black Death was a plague that devastated Europe in the fourteenth century. Trade routes, especially, were overrun with people dying from this plague. These trade routes were covered in dirt and full of plenty of people in close quarters, making this plague more damaging. About one out of three people died at the hand of this vile disease, and no one could figure out how it was spread. Anarchy spread throughout Europe. People guessed the causes and tried to deal with the disease, but it still spread like wildfire. Some regions were spared from this plague, but plenty towns were almost completely wiped out (Pavlac 177). The Black Death caused many people in fourteenth century Europe to go to the extremes in behavior and religion. Petrarch s view of the plague was painfully poetic and bleak. He depicted people as terrified and confused, while expressing his own fear. The turmoil in his letter shows that no one truly seemed to know what was happening, which just caused more chaos and terror. Petrarch himself was consumed with worry about his fate, and seemed to feel as if the plague was caused by the wrath of God, for certainly I would think that our misdeeds deserve it (Petrarch). Clearly the people of Europe must have done something to anger God, according to Petrarch. He believes, like many others during this period, that the people of Europe deserved this terrible plague, even though he despised the conditions and anarchy. Fear clouded the

In said dream, the most beautiful tree is spotted glistening with gold and gems; the tree then begins to bleed from the right side. The entirety of the poem is describing, from the rood s point of view, the crucifixionof JesusChrist. The poem has many aspects of Anglo Saxon literature, and differs in several ways from the actual bible telling of the crucifixion; in The Dream of The Rood, Jesus is depicted as more of an anglo saxon like warrior, the cross endures more pain than Jesus himself, and Before the belief of the afterlife in Heaven, derived heavily from Christianity, men believed that they would be remembered for generations to come solely by the heroic and chivalrous acts they had done in their lifetime. Now any reader maybe wondering where my mind is wondering to, when I start a paper with such an obvious fact. However, in this case it is not just a fact, it is an analogy for something much deeper. In the African American culture, it is not uncommon to refer to someone as a fictive kin . Fictive kin is a term dubbed for someone who is either not related or indirectivity related to oneself. So, in other terms if the individual is not either a direct sibling, guardian, uncle, aunt, grandparent, or cousin, but they have left a positive impact on oneself they are considered fictive kin. This term was formed back in the slave trafficking days, when families where torn apart, and individuals were forced to form bonds with individuals who were not directly related to them. In today s world, this word is still popular in this demographic, but has morphed in meaning and expanded into other living segments as well. • 16. Conquering Other People Is Not A Waste Of Resources And Time There are no valid reasons for conquering other people. To conquer another is to gain control over, or to use force against, conquering other people implies a use of force, such as to kill or to enslave. Not only is this ethically wrong it is also costly. Conquering is a term that describes something far beyond persuasion it is an overtaking and an exploitation of another population. It is incorrect for one group to behave in such away as to take away or impose beliefs that take away the right of anyone to not have the liberty to choose. In addition to the taking away of rights, this behavior can be financially expensive and time consuming. It costs a lot of money to sail a ship to long distances, they would have to pay for food, water, emergencies, fuel and man power. Because of all of the prior reasons, conquering other people is a waste of resources and time. The Battle Of The War On Southeast Asia Beginning in 1940 with the successful invasion of French Indochina, the Empire of Japan displayed power over the colonialists from the Battle of Malaya to their occupation of the Andaman and Nicobar islands. The prelude to Japan s war on Southeast Asia was its concurrent war against China which had started in 1937. As a result of this invasion, culture within Southeast Asia was changed. There are varying other factors to include when identifying how this occupation changed what was currently then known as the Dutch East Indies, which includes the somewhat linear and consistently rising changes socially, politically and economically.1 The beginning of regular contact between Europeans and the people of Indonesia began in 1512, but it wasn t until 1800 that the government in the Netherlands established the Dutch East Indies.2 For the duration of Dutch rule, their hold on the Dutch East Indies was weak outside of coastal strongholds but it wasn t until the early 20th century that their lands extend to what is currently recognized to be Indonesia s borders.3 A nationalist movement had been undertaken by the people of Indonesia, however was often suppressed by the Dutch. With this movement beginning in 1908 it wasn t until 1945 until the Nationalist Revolution had begun. Lasting four years, the Dutch were consistently able to maintain industrial assets, towns and major cities but found themselves with the inability to control the countryside.4 The inspiration for this

A comparison of Anne Bradstreet s In Memory of My Dear Grandchild Elizabeth Bradstreet and Edward Taylors Upon Wedlock, and Death of Children. Taylor and Bradstreet have different relationships to their children in each of their poems. In the poems the writers explain that death, in some way, is a natural course and compare it with the diverse aspects of nature. Both Taylor and Bradstreet attempt to reunite the faith they have in God even when they suffer the loss of a child. These poems seem very similar just by first glance because of the content displayed and the use of their tone. However, they do tend to stray apart on several main ideas. Taylor resorts to a Puritan reaction towards the tragedy of his loss, which gives the reader a feeling of pity for him as he would be the man whom loves God and the caring father role. Conversely, Bradstreet displays her expression of loss in a rather unique way of blame towards God. Taylor has an understanding state of mind toward the loss of his children, but he also mourns heavily over his loss. Taylor uses a common word throughout his poem, which is flowers. He compares his kids to flowers that are metaphorically growing from a True Love Knot , which can also be referred to as a flower bed. He really emphasizes the gorgeous appearance of the flowers that seem to grow in his garden in the first two stanzas of the poem. In Taylor s poem he rejoices his marriage and the birth of his kids as a grateful and glorious day.
  • 19. Harmful Effects Of Recycling In Landfills Recycling programs are in place all around the world yet most trash still ends up in a landfill. When something is being decomposed, it s being broken down slowly. When something is being decomposed by living bacteria or other living organisms then it is biodegradable. As an effect of this, eventually, the materials will be fully broken down. In landfills, most materials start to decompose (North and Halden 2013). Materials such as extruded polystyrenefoam, plastic, and paper that are in landfills can cause pollution. Pollution is the act of introducing something that will bring harmful effects. Biodegradation helps to reduce the amount of trash in landfills so that landfills do not become full of capacity. About 30% of landfill space is filled with extruded polystyrene foam products alone (Little 2017). Landfills are quickly being filled and very soon there will not be enough space in the world to place trash. extruded polystyrene foam is a material that decomposes over a long period. Inside extruded polystyrene foam is a chemical called Styrene which leaches into substances leading to water pollution when it precipitates and the runoff goes into nearby bodies of water (Little 2017). When something leaches it is being percolated into another liquid or substance. 34 million tons of plastic were produced in 2008 in the United States alone and 86% ended up in landfills (North and Halden 2013). That s a lot of plastic that ended up in landfills. Over the years the numbers

Is it responsibility that makes a person do what they have to do, or rather is it fearing the consequence? Truthfully, this would depend on the situation. This opening sentence jolts Sonny s brother into realizing that at the moment his brother needed him the most, he did not even bother to at least acknowledge him. Before passing away, the narrator s mother made him promise to always take care of Sonny: You got to hold on to your brother, she said, and don t let him fall, no matter what it looks like is happening to him and no matter how evil you gets with him. You going to be evil with him many a time. But don t you forget what I told you, you hear? (14). Realistically though, the narrator is angry at Sonny s decisions to take heroin and consequently get arrested. This anger that he holds is preventing him from fulfilling his promise and his responsibility; however, when he receives the letter from Sonny stating, You don t know how much I needed you , the anger dissipates and he realizes that his younger brother is in need of guidance and love rather than anger and ignorance.

Analyzing pieces of literature through the gender critics lens accentuates what the author believes to be masculine or feminine and that society and culture determines the genderresponsibility of an individual. The gentle wolves become the most dangerous in these varieties of narratives, because they shadow the infantile, naГЇve girls, and swindle them into trusting them before they commence to do the unthinkable act of deceiving the women (Bettelheim 168). The thought of being miles upon miles away is something that can make people question the strength of their relationship. However, this trend of long distance is something that is becoming more and more common with the advancement of technology such as video chatting sources like Facetime or Skype. This trend is something I ve personally noticed many college students, especially freshmen, experiencing. They have their high school sweetheart that is suddenly moving miles away to another college. They do not know how to handle it but, of course, they try and make it work. I am much like all these people except I never had the experience of living close to my significant other. We ve always been miles apart, seven hundred and seventy eight to be exact. And even though it has its hard times, it always seems worth it when we re together. I am by no means an expert, but I am hoping that through my experiences, I can inspire someone to try and make it work. What I ve figured out is how important communication is. It is so important to communicate everything. If something he or she does makes you uncomfortable, let him know. If he says the sweetest thing in the world to you and it makes your heart melt, let him know. By keeping things bottled up in your head, its just going to make you frustrated, upset, and most likely, hurt. Long distance relationships are so complicated. There is no set formula to them.

As a student interested in nursing, it is required to take the course of chemistry among many other pre requisite courses. When reviewing the course syllabus I thought to myself, What is this stuff, and when am I going to ever use it in Nursing? Also to all incoming non science majors who are required to take chemistry, this course may be the last course you would even think about taking. Believe it or not, there is more to chemistry besides science. I ve learned that chemistry is actually an interesting field of study. Chemistry actually plays a role in everyone s lives and touches almost every feature of our existence in some way. The lessons I learned throughout this course can actually apply to the everyday life of an average individual. Even for those non science majors, the lessons from this course can most likely be applied to not only your major, but more importantly your survival on Earth. Chemistry is essential for meeting our basic needs of food, health, clothing, shelter, energy, clean air, water, and soil. Having chemistry knowledge is worthwhile because it provides a basis for understanding the physical universe we live in. Throughout this course, I found how almost every lesson could apply to everyday life. For instance I found the lessons of the basic concepts of matter , measurements in chemistry and chemical equations, along with the study of solvents

Enuma Elish Vs Genesis Oral Roberts University Survey of the Old Testament Essay # 1 Victor Francis Mavika Survey OF Old Testament Prof. Martin Lyons 21 September 2017 There are multiple debates and arguments concerning the creation story of both mankind and the universe from the Bible and the Babylonian creation poem the Enuma Elish. There is a debate on whether the two accounts have similarities or one of them borrowed its content from the other. Enuma Elish is a great Assyrian poem which narrates the story of the creation of the world and man. The poem contains what the old empires believed concerning the creation of the universe. (Gen 1:26). Contrary to Genesis, in EE man is a servant to the gods. The main purpose of man s creation was for the gods to be free from work. Their work was mainly to lessen all types of physical labor to the gods. That the service of the gods may be established, and that their shrines may be built (cf. EE VI.5 9). It was God s purpose for man to take care of the garden. Contrary to EE, God s purpose was not to lessen the number of activities he had; He wanted to have fellowship with man. Thirdly, both accounts express the existence of chaotic state before creation. The fact is there is no order depicted in both accounts. In verses two of Genesis the Bible states ...Now the earth was formless and empty. No presence of any living creature because of this chaotic nature. Similarly, to Genesis account, EE chaotic nature of the universe is mainly due to the absence of gods. Tiamat and Apsu both represent aspects of the physical world. Apsu is a god of fresh water and fertility while Tiamat goddess of the sea, therefore, chaos and threat. The fierce battle between Marduk and Tiamat replaces Apsu and Tiamat Chaotic nature. And

Media at the time were being very desolate and grieving those who had died. Stephen Colbert, the host of The Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert, decided to take a different approach. In the introduction to his show the day after the attack, he addresses what had happened to ease the minds of his audience in an ironic humorous way. He was very serious about the situation but, he decided that adding comedywas suitable. By using Pathos, in paradoxical way, he could lift spirits and hide sorrow underneath comedy in a very effective way. Stephen Colbert always opens his show by yelling, tonight, and then playing an introduction video. However, on this occasion after yelling tonight, the video does not play and he catches his viewer off guard. He the leans into the camera and says in a very soft spoken way, hey look, before we begin I just want to take a moment to talk about the attack in Boston yesterday. By the way he says this line in a very serious tone, it leads his audience to believe that they are going to hear the same, beat to death, mournful lines that they have heard since the attack. He then says, now obviously, our thoughts and our prays are with everyone there, and this line is very special because he gives foreshadowing that this is not going to be the typical news cast. Abstract Software Development has progressed far in recent years, with Agile software development methodologies contributing to the success of projects and customer satisfaction. This feasibility study will examine the potential implications involved with implementing the Integrated Management of Projects and Systems (IMPS) system using an Agile method. The system will assist Software Engineers in Communications, Requirements Gathering, Quality Control, and project management. The IMPS system aims to solve remote communications issues and technical complexity barriers faced by non technical stakeholders involved in software projects, resulting in decreased operating costs and increased productivity. The system will be introduced to the organization gradually as it is development, with a minimum of disruption. 2. Study introduction Information Technology (IT) has become a significant part of any work conducted in a technical capacity, whether this is via job assistance, or enablement. Communications, record keeping, and employee management all rely heavily upon IT systems to operate. Engineering jobs rely on IT systems to augment and assist to a greater degree than other areas due to the technical nature of the work. Nowhere is this more true than in Software Engineering, where technical details and their representation is key to the success of any project. It has been found that face to face meetings are still unmatched in effective communication. This feasibility

  • 34. The Threat Of Food Sources THREAT TO FOOD SOURCES Climate change doesn t just mean that certain species will suffer from the loss of habitat. There will be a cascade effect up and down the food chain, affecting the most basic species of prey and apex predators alike. Dominant predators with a strong preference for a carnivorous diet are arguably more vulnerable to destruction of their environments. If the prey population suffers, it directly affects the survival of the predators that depend on them. Polar bears have an especially focused diet, and seals are their prefered prey. Interestingly, the milk produced by polar bear mothers is more similar to that of pinnipeds (seals) than it is to milk of most terrestrial mammals (Amstrup, 599). Like polar bears, several species of seal depend on a reliable presence of sea ice in order to breed (Derocher 2004, p. 168). A dwindling seal population will almost certainly affect polar bears. Polar bears are unique from their omnivorous cousins in that they have adapted to an arctic climate with a specialized diet. Ringed seals make up the majority of their diet, along with other species of seal, whales, and walruses (Thiemann 2008, p. 591). Although I have previously argued here is some hope that polar bears can adapt to different food sources like geese and caribou, further research indicates that a diet of land animals such as geese and their eggs is a poor substitute. First of all, the list of prey I mentioned all have one thing in common: A thick

In a different study by Robert Williams and Allan Eggert, Notetaking aids one s ability to recall noted information and do well on exams related to that information. This is why it is so important for students to take notes in class. When you write out notes in class while the teacher is talking, you are forced to listen and summarize the key points of the lecture because writing notes are significantly slower than typing the notes. When students take notes on computers, they generally tend to type exactly what is being said instead of focusing on why it is important. When these students go back and read their notes, they don t have a decent conceptual understanding of what was written beforehand. Gentrification, By Ruth Glass The term Gentrification was coined by British sociologist Ruth Glass in 1964 to describe the influx of the middle class displacing lower class worker residents in urban neighbourhoods; her example was London, and its working class who resided in the London Borough of Islington. The term was published in Ruth Glass book London: aspects of change she stated that One by one, many of the working class neighbourhoods of London have been invaded by the middle classes upper and lower. she also claimed that Once this process of gentrification starts in a district it goes on rapidly, until all or most of the original working class occupiers are displaced and the whole social character of the district is changed. Gentrification is a multifaceted phenomenon which has been defined differently over the years, there is no concrete definition. Before we look at whether Gentrification is actually damaging the lower class society, we must first focus on the causes of Gentrification and then we may proceed to look at its effects.
