Editor's Notes

  • #21 Giving students a task or project to complete in a medium with which they are comfortable may increase their willingness to complete the assignment and engage with the task itself. Students may appreciate opportunities to show off their tech savvy
  • #22 With technology allows different personalities to emerge in the classroomsome who were not previously leaders may become technology gurus who answer other students’ questions You will need topurposefully monitor group dynamics and the division of workpair students who are less experienced with technology with those who are more technologically proficient
  • #23 CHALLENGESaccess to technology in some classrooms is inadequateinadequate teacher training on new technologies. The rewards of using available technology include increased student REWARDSengagement, real-world application of learning, the ability to easily differentiate instruction, and greater access to information.  “What can you do to overcome the challenges and offer your students more opportunities to use technology in the classroom?”
