   B. Motivation-Presentation

We have here a globe. What planet does the A globe is an Earth model.
          globe models?

Through this Earth model we can see the
basic composition of the planet Earth. With
the help of this model we visualize how Earth
looks like out there on space.

Today class we’re going to learn something Ability of planet Earth to sustain the human life or
about our home planet, Earth. What would living organisms.
you like to learn about the planet Earth?

Kindly state in question form. What make it possible for us to live on Earth?

Let’s have an activity that will help us to Yes, we do.
answer your questions. Would you like to

have an activity?

   C. Setting-Up Standards for Work

Before we perform the activity, there things 1. Observe cleanliness.
to be remember/consider in doing the 2. Work quietly or maintain silence at work.
activity. Who can give? 3. Work orderly.
                                                           4. Handle the materials carefully.
                                                           5. Share opinions and respect other’s opinions.
                                                           6. Record observation

   D. Organizing Groups

Let’s have groupings. This row will be the
group ____. Each group will have their
      leader, secretary, and a reporter.

Here are the materials prepared for each
group. May I request a representative from
each group to get the materials?

Don’t start with the activity yet, let’s recall What make it possible for us to live on Earth?
      first the problem you’ve raised?

   E. Performing the Activity

Each group may start the activity. Follow the 1. Using the materials given, identify and paste
procedure given. I’ll give you 10 minutes to the three portion/composition of the planet
do it. earth on side A of the circle.
                                                           2. For side B identify and paste the benefits we
get from the Earth (paste the pictures on the
proper location where we can find these
                                                              things).
                                                           3. List 5 action on how are you going to take
care of the benefits we get from the planet
Earth. Write your answer on the given paper.

   F. Reporting Findings

Will you please read the problem? What make it possible for us to live on
                                                                                  Earth?

Ok class; be ready to answer the problem
      you’ve raised.

Group 1; state three basic The three basic composition of Earth are land, water
portion/composition of the Earth. and air.

      Very good.

As you can see class the Earth is surrounded
by water and land. Earth is composed of
75% water and 25% land. And not just that,
the Earth is blanketed by the air what we call
      the atmosphere.

Group 2; from the picture you have made From the Earth’s resources we get from them our
out of the given materials, what are the food, shelter and everything we need to live. For

benefits we can get from Earth? example air breathing; water for drinking; logs from
                                                                     trees for our shelter.

      Very well said group two.

      We call them ________. N_t_ _a_ _ es_ _r_s

There are a lot of benefits we get from
Earth, it’s too many mention. Everything we
receive from Earth comes from what we call
      Natural Resources.

There are two kinds of natural resources.

                   Natural Resources

Renewable - they grow again or
never run out. They can be replaced
             within person’s lifespan.

Give me an example of things that Trees
comes from earth that can regrow Animals
             and replace. Air
                                                                             Water

Non-Renewable - they can run out
or be used up. They can never be
replaced or it takes thousands of
             years (behind person’s lifespan)
             before it is replaced.
 Fossil fuels (natural gas, coal,
                     and oil)
                  Minerals

Group 3; what actions are you going to take 1. Plant more trees. Replace the cut trees.
to take care our natural resources? 2. Keep the surrounding clean by segregating
                                                            our trash.
                                                         3. Stop smoking.
                                                         4. Do the 3R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle)
                                                         5. Walk instead of riding.

      Very good group 3. These are just some of C __ n __ __ erv __ ti__n
action we can take to take care of our
natural resources. We also call this process
      as ______.

Conservation means to use the natural
resources wisely without wasting or spoiling
things. Use or consume the right amount
resources and avoid excessive use of this
      resources.

   G. Generalization

      What have we learn from our activity?                  The Earth has its three basic compositions;
there are the land, water and air. The Earth
provides us resources for us to live.

Angelica T. Magalong
What are these resources?                                  There are two kinds of natural resources;
                                                                    renewable and non-renewable resources.

Will you give example of renewable and non- Trees and animals for renewable; minerals
renewable resources? and fossil fuel for non-renewable.

What can we do to save these resources? We must take care of them through
                                                                        conserving the natural resources.

Have we answered your questions? Yes, we do.

   IV. Evaluation

Let’s find out what have you learned today. Get your paper and pencil and answer the
            following.

Test I. List 5 examples on how are you going to conserve our natural resources.

                 1.
                 2.
                 3.
                 4.
                 5.
Test II. Write R if it is renewable and NR if it is non-renewable.
                 1. coal
                 2. banana plant
                 3. oil
                 4. kid
                 5. minerals

   V. Assignment

N_t_ _a_ _ es_ _r_s There are a lot of benefits we get from Earth, it’s too many mention. Everything we receive from Earth comes from what we call Natural Resources. There are two kinds of natural resources. Natural Resources Renewable - they grow again or never run out. They can be replaced within person’s lifespan. Give me an example of things that Trees comes from earth that can regrow Animals and replace. Air Water Non-Renewable - they can run out or be used up. They can never be replaced or it takes thousands of years (behind person’s lifespan) before it is replaced.  Fossil fuels (natural gas, coal, and oil)  Minerals Group 3; what actions are you going to take 1. Plant more trees. Replace the cut trees. to take care our natural resources? 2. Keep the surrounding clean by segregating our trash. 3. Stop smoking. 4. Do the 3R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle) 5. Walk instead of riding. Very good group 3. These are just some of C __ n __ __ erv __ ti__n action we can take to take care of our natural resources. We also call this process as ______. Conservation means to use the natural resources wisely without wasting or spoiling things. Use or consume the right amount resources and avoid excessive use of this resources. G. Generalization What have we learn from our activity? The Earth has its three basic compositions; there are the land, water and air. The Earth provides us resources for us to live.
