without standing and without making any noise.”
6. Review
“Before we proceed to our new lesson, do you
still remember our previous lesson?”
“That’s great. Let’s check if you still remember it
by doing an activity. Let us do the Santa Claus relay.
Are you familiar with this?”
“Since it’s already Christmas season, let’s have
Santa Claus to do the questioning. There are
attached papers on Mr. Santa’s body. What you just
have to do is to pass Mr. Santa as we all sing “Feliz na
Vidad”. When I say stop, the one holding Santa will
choose one paper and will answer the question
written. Am I clear?”
“Very good. So now, let’s get the ball rolling.”
~ Questioning follows.
“You really had listened to our previous lesson
and it deserves an Aling Dionesia clap.”
“Do you have questions regarding our
previous lesson?”
(Students followed the instruction.)
“Yes, Ma’am.”
“No, Ma’am.”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
QUESTIONS:
1. What was our previous lesson all
about?
2. Describe an Electromagnetic
Spectrum.
3. Give the 8 regions of the
Electromagnetic Spectrum.
4. What is the difference between
Radio wave and Gamma Ray.
(Aling Dionesia Clap)
“None, Ma’am.”
B. MOTIVATION
“In order for you to have a glimpse of our
lesson today, do you want another activity?”
“Since you want, we will be playing a game
called “Suman, Siomai, Siopao. I know it’s not yet
familiar to you so this time you will be introduced
with the game. I request five (5) students to come
here in front to play the game. You who’s in your
chairs will help me do some judgements.
~ Asking for volunteers.
~ Giving of instructions to the volunteers, and
telling them to memorize the command and
consistently follow the actions executed.
“Have you enjoyed while just watching the
volunteers to follow my commands?”
“Now for this time, I’m gonna ask you some
questions. This is just so easy. What is the square
root of 4?
“Good! How about 64?”
“Excellent! Now who know the square root
of 144?”
“Very Good. It’s just easy right?”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
“2 Ma’am.”
“Ma’am, its 8.”
“That’s 12, Ma’am.”
C. LESSON PROPER
3. Introduction to the Lesson
“Now based on the activity that we had a
while ago, what had you noticed on it. What do you
think is the reason that you had come out with your
answers on Mathematics?”
“Yes, indeed. But what about the 1st activity
that we did?”
“Yeah, right. It’s our brain which worked on
our two activities. You were able to answer my
questions, as well as you followed by commands.”
“Based on our activities, do you have now an
idea about what will our lesson be this morning?”
“What do you think is our lesson for today?”
“Excellent. That’s it. We will explore now on
Nervous System. About its parts, subcomponents, its
structures and processes. But before that, let us first
know the objectives that everyone must attain at the
end of the lesson. Everyone, kindly read.”
~ Reading of objectives.
Discussion
“The brain as we know is the master organ of the
body. It controls almost all bodily functions even if
we are awake or not. Our body responds to the
environment automatically and these responses are
needed in order for us to survive.”
“Our brain is a part of one of our body systems
called the Nervous system. Do you know what
Nervous System is? Do you have any idea about its
parts and structure?”
“For you to find out, do you see those 3 Santa
Stations?”
“I will group you into three. 1st row will be
group 1, 2nd row will be group 2, and 3rd row will be
group 3. Those stations contain vital facts and
informations about Nervous System. Now, what
you’re going to do is to visit those stations by group
and read it carefully and with comprehension for
afterwards, I will be asking questions regarding the
topic. Group 1 will visit Station 1, Group 2 will visit
"Ma’am, we were able to answer it because
we already had discussed it with our Math
class.”
“We are able to catch up with the
commands Ma’am with the help of our
brain.”
“Ma’am, I think our lesson for today is
Nervous System.”
At the end of the lesson, the students can:
a. explain how Nervous System
works;
b. distinguish the parts and
functions of the Nervous System;
c. illustrate how peripheral and
central nervous systemworks;
and
d. demonstrate appreciation on the
importance of taking good care of
the Nervous System.
“Yes/ No, Ma’am.”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
4. station 2, and Group 3 will visit station 3. After
visiting your 1st station, move to the next station. For
example, Group 1 visited station 1, after the time
given, they’ll move to station 2 until finishing on the
last station. For Group 3, after visiting station 3, you
move to station 1. Am I clear?”
“You are given 2 minutes in every station. I will
signal you if it’s already time. Do the activity silently
for I will give punishment to the group who are very
noisy, understood?”
“You can start now.”
~ After 10 minutes, questioning follows.
“Have you learned something from the
stations?”
“Let’s see if you really understand it. I will ask
questions. If you have an answer, just raise your hand
for you to be recognize. If you give the right answer,
you will be given a point. Am I clear?”
QUESTIONS:
Further information of the lesson will be
delivered after every question.
(Students listened attentively to teacher’s
instructions.)
(Students listened attentively to teacher’s
instructions.)
“Yes, Ma’am.”
D. GENERALIZATION
“Have you learned a lot with the discussion
today?”
“Who can say something about what you had
learned?”
“Very good. Let’s give (name of the student) a
Barangay Clap!”
“Now, how will you differentiate the Central
Nervous System (CNS) and the Peripheral Nervous
System (PNS) in terms of their functions?”
“Excellent! A major clap for (name of the
student).
“Is our nervous system very important?”
“Why do you think so?”
“Indeed. Therefore it is very essential. Since it
is important, we have to take good care of our body.
In what way do you think we could take care our
Nervous System?”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
“Ma’am, Nervous system is a body system
which connects all our body parts and
transmits signals from one part to another.”
“Ma’am, the CNS is responsible for
processing of the entire nervous system. It is
composed of the brain and the spinal cord
while PNS connects the CNS to the organs
and limbs. It could be voluntary or
involuntary.”
(Major Clap!)
“Yes, Ma’am.”
“Ma’am, with the help of our Nervous
system, we are able to think, do everything
we do daily and decide on things.”
(Answers vary)
5. “You really had listened to our discussion.
Let’s give ourselves a Digong Clap.”
“Do you questions, clarifications or additions
with regards to our lesson for today?”
(Digong Clap)
“None, Ma’am.”
E. APPLICATION
“Do you want another activity?”
“At this juncture, I will group you again into 5.
This portion will be the Group 1, this part will be
group 2, here will be group 3, that area will be Group
4, and lastly this portion will be group 5. Each group
are given the task to illustrate how Peripheral and
Central nervous systemworks. Each group will be
given a situation, what you need to do is to illustrate
how it come up with the stimulus-response. You
illustrate it through making a diagram or anything
which you can illustrate the process of having the
situation given. For example, the situation is
“salivation due to seeing a mango”. When you
illustrate it, your answer would be SENSORY NERVES
– BRAIN – SPINAL CORD – MOTOR NERVES. Do you
get me?”
“After illustrating, you choose one
representative to present your output. Once you are
done, you make a yell for you to be recognize.
~ Group answering . . .
~ Presentation of Outputs and giving of scores.
“Yes, Ma’am.”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
