SUBUNIT:Likes and dislikes of family
members
Age group 9-10 years old
Time: 40+40 minutes (block lesson)
Resources- Materials:
Board, powerpoint, videos related to the
topic,flash cards ,songs the materials of
finger puppets;brushes ,colored
pencils,glue ,kitchen gloves
Recycledlanguage:Who is he? Who is
she ?
New language: I don’tlike washingdishes,
I like shopping,We like playingfootball etc.
Objectives:
Pupils should be able to:
1. Revise the family members
2. comprehend basic classroom language
3. follow the teachers instructions
4. cooperate with their pairs for the complete final
outcome
5. talk about likes and dislikes of family members
6. sing songs about family
Time Procedure

Presentation
Firstly to revise the family members the teacher asks students about
family members.
Then teacher uses a video,’ The Simpson Family ‘ as an ice
breaker.In the video the students can see all the family members ns
as in the video.

PART 1
Activities
Activity 1: Sticking the pictures on the board
The teacher shows the pictures of family members and asks ‘ Who
is s/he ? Then the pictures of family members are sticked on the
board by the kids.
Activity 2: Family Members Say Their Likes and Dislikes
One student comes to the board and introduces the family members
one by one .The members says their likes and dislikes by acting their
roles in a funny way.
PART 2
Activity 1: Preparing finger puppets
The teacher talks about finger puppets and shows a tutorial video
about making finger puppets.After finishing they sing the finger
family song by using their puppets.
Activity 2: A Good Song ‘ Who is this ‘
Mostly the children like songs a lot.This time while singing they act
out according to their roles.
Evaluation:
This lesson planned with the interpersonal and cooperative concerns.
Teacher aims to promote meaningful communication around the
class. Teacher also aims to improve social skills, trust-building,
leadership, decision making, conflict management and team/group
soul. Teacher should be sure that competition is avoided among the
pupils. Evaluation is ongoing and takes place throughout the lesson
by observation of the pupils while they are involved in the activities.
The teacher notes the pupil’s progress and/or areas of concern soon
after the lesson.
