SUBUNIT: Expressing family members
Age group 9-10 years old
Time: 45 minutes
Resources- Materials:
Board, powerpoint games , videos about
finger family song,family members’
pictures , colored pencils,
glue,scissors,Recycled language:
Introducing family members..She is my
mother…This is my sister etc..Who is
she?...
New language: The other familymembers:
Uncle,aunt,cousin..are introduced
Objectives:
Pupils will be able to:
1. Express the members of family
2. identify and talk about family members
3. answer the questions about family members
4. sing finger family song
5. follow the teachers instructions
Time Procedure

Presentation
For the first stage the teacher talks about family and introduces to the
students .He asks questions’ Who is he ‘ Who is she ?’

Activities
Activity 1: Drawing fingers in order to create finger family
First the teacher shows two songs which is about the family
members and students sing them while watching.After that the
teacher gives a paper and the students draw their own fingers on that
paper in order to create finger family members.

Activity 2: Preparing a simple finger puppets
The teacher gives a paper to each of students.In that paper there are
some small pictures which is about finger families.The students color
the pictures,cut and put them on their fingers in order to sing the
song.After that they make dialogues using their puppets.
Activity 3:Describing the members of ‘Monster Family’
The students read the monster family and describe the family
members by saying ;’ This is my mother she has green eyes etc.’
Evaluation:
This lesson planned with the interpersonal and cooperative concerns.
Teacher aims to promote meaningful communication around the
class. Teacher also aims to improve social skills, trust-building,
leadership, decision making, conflict management and team/group
soul. Evaluation is ongoing and takes place throughout the lesson by
observation of the pupils while they are involved in the activities.
Also a worksheet is given students to practice what they learn in the
lesson.
