Sleeping Disorders In Older Adults
Sleep and Sleep Disorders in the Older Adult There are four main reasons why we sleep. The
first is for cardiovascular relaxation which lower blood pressure, lowers heart rate, and lowers
metabolic rate. The second reason is for mental and physical restorative properties. Lack of sleep
will then manifest itself with physical and cognitive side effects such as fatigue, difficulty
focusing, slower response times, memory problems, decreased balance, and decreased ability to
perform tasks. The third reason we sleep is to help with learning. Studies have shown that good
sleep prior to taking tests increases performance. Finally sleep is the only cure for sleepiness.
Daytime sleepiness can cause a person to fall asleep while reading, watching television, talking to
others, or even driving. Not getting enough sleep puts people at risk for hypertension and coronary
events. It also increases morbidity and mortality.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sleep apnea leads to increased blood pressure and daytime sleepiness. The apnea is caused by a
blocking of the airway. There are three main reasons for this blockage. One reason is obesity,
when excess fat causes too much pressure and restricts air flow. Excessive relaxation of the neck
muscles caused by deep sleep, alcohol, sedatives and smoking is another cause. And finally
there can be a structural abnormality due to enlarged tonsils, enlarged tongue, excessive tissues, a
receding lower jar, or a tumor. There are three different levels of obstructive sleep apnea and they
are classified by how many 10 second or more episodes of apnea occur within our hour of sleep.
Mild is 5 to 14 episodes, moderate with 15 to 30 episodes, and finally severe is more than 30
episodes of apnea in one hour of

Panthers Research Paper
Front runner
In Carolina s two games this postseason, the Panthers have jumped out to huge leads. Leading 31
0 against the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional Round and 24 7 against the Arizona Cardinals in
the NFC Championship Game at halftime of both games, the Panthers have become accustomed
to front running. Carolina has been a front running team all year, scoring early and often en route
to a league high 15 wins. If the Panthers can get out to a big early lead against the Broncos,
Denver s offense doesn t seem equipped to make a big comeback. Carolina quarterback Cam
Newton, who was named NFL MVP Saturday night, was the runaway front runner to win the award
after a stellar regular season.

The Panthers also have a knack of getting a little complacent and letting their opponents sneak
back into the game. Against the New York Giants in the regular season and against Seattle in the
playoffs, Carolina held an overwhelming lead but let both teams climb nearly all the way back. In
the biggest game of their lives, can the Panthers maintain their composure throughout the entire
game? An extra long half time break and the pre game hype that surrounds the Super Bowl could
be a factor. Manning hasn t always played well in the big game, just look at the Broncos 43 8 loss
to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl two years ago. Yet, Manning s and his teammates Super
Bowl experience could be a crucial mental

Personal Narrative Essay On Robert Newsom s Poem
It was a hot summer day in 1850 when I first set eyes on a man named Robert Newsom. I was
sold to him from my former master at just the age of fourteen. Newsom was an older man with
an eerie look upon his face, he looked to be in his sixties. I didn t like him, something about the
way he looked at me made the hair on the back of my neck stand up and the sick feelingin the pit of
my stomach didn t help the situation. My former master and him shook hands and nodded in my
direction as I was escorted away into Newsom s possession. The old man talked to me as I sat
beside him on the way back to his plantation, although I couldn t understand what he was saying
over the loud pitter pattering of my heart beating so fast. I was uncomfortable and scared, I didn
t know what was to become of me, these feelings only escalated as I felt the warm clench of his
hand on my upper thigh, I turned to look up at him with what I can imagine a look of horror just
before he raped me. I had only ever heard stories of women being raped by their masters but never

All I knew was that he was gone, but not his body. I came to the conclusion that I should burn it,
so I did. I pulled up my torn and ragged sleeves and proceeded to search the yard or things to
build a fire with, a fire big enough to get rid of his wretched body. I dragged his lifeless corpse
over to the fireplace and watched as it caught aflame. I sat there just staring at it for hours on end,
adding more fuel to the fire when need be. Soon the early morning came, but the bones remained
stricken of his rotten flesh so I attempted to smash them to bits upon the stone, and succeeded other
than a few big pieces which I stashed away under the floor and stone. The ashes were everywhere
and overflowing so I carried what I could out upon the brink of exhaustion and soon enough fell

Review Selection Of A Standardized Test . Introduction.
Review Selection of a Standardized Test
Introduction
Test administrators should understand and clarify why the test taker is being assessed,(American
Educational Research, 2014). Additionally, they should also understand why certain tests,
inventories, and diagnostic procedures are selected. As a student, in the process of achieving a
Master s degree in clinical psychology, it is essential to be aware of the reasons for certain tests,
their reliability, and validity. This especially true for a clinical psychologist, which I plan to
become. Clinical psychologists identify psychological, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
Eventually, those issues are diagnosed. Then, treatment plans are developed and implemented. This

It targets executive functions like impulse control, flexible problem solving skills, controlling
emotional responses, regulating behavior in social settings, generating ideas and initiating
activities, cognitive skills, planning, and organizing, and lastly, task monitoring, (Roth et al, 2005).
The last test, that will be reviewed, is Conners Comprehensive Behavior Rating Scales (CBRS).
The target population, for this test, includes individuals whose ages range from 6 to 18. Conners
CBRS was created to assess a wide range of behaviors, emotions, social functioning, and academic
issues, in order to diagnose, develop, and monitor treatment plans for the individual, (Conners,
2015). Conners CBRS, also, aids with special education classification, intervention planning,
progress monitoring, and research.
Element 2 In this next section, the three selected tests will be reviewed for their appropriateness of
test content, skills tested, and content coverage for the intended purpose of testing, (Code, 2004, p.

competence, and adaptive functioning scales that target specific behavior, thought, emotions, and
social interactions, (Lacalle et al, 2012). As a result, this test can provide appropriate behavioral
treatment plans. When Lacelle, Ezpeleta, and DomГ©nech evaluated this test,

Essay On Internship
INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
Internship is an opportunity offered by various companies to potential students or candidates,
called as interns , to work in the firm for a limited or fixed time period. Internship offers students
lot of exposure to the practical world and provides practical experiences in the industry relating
to their field of study. This becomes a valuable experience as it allows us to understand how our
studies are applied in the real world , and it gives a good picture for our Curriculum Vitae`.
Internships can also be called as job training for professional careers. Internships generally, consists
exchange of ideas and services for experience between students and organizations. Some interns
find permanent, paid programme with the organizations for which they worked. This gives a
benefit to the employer as they do not have to search for a new employee, as the interns are trained
previously and they are less demanding. Internship experiences provide the opportunity to apply
classroom theories into the real world, thus it enhances the student s academic and their career goals.

Education Is The Most Important Aspect Of Life
Philosophers say that life is one unending lesson, that the absorption of knowledge never ends.
This motto is superbly represented in all of the pieces that Ms. Frankenberg s Composition class
has read, watched, or listened to. Whether this education has been obvious or not, through a
classroom or another medium, it is usually delivered in lessons that are meant to last a lifetime. By
dissecting all of the aspects that can be taken from these educational situations, the credit goes to
those who taught them, and it is to those individuals whom we should give credit for the lesson.
These lessons are great additions to their legacy resume , or the unofficial track of a person s
accomplishments throughout their lifetime. It is in this way that legacy can be discovered, even if
legacy means something different to each individual.
Education is the most important aspect of life; parents teach their children, teachers educate their
students, employers train their employees, and even the President of the United States is educated
on important details by his advisors. Education does not just mean a school and a professor, it means
any learning at anytime and anywhere. This reason is exactly why education is one of the most
crucial parts of any legacy. Education is universal, without it no one would even know what a
legacy is, much less retain the intelligence to create a legacy of their own. Throughout the years
knowledge has improved, more people made names for themselves in their

Marketing Strategy For The Downtown Auburn Area Essay
Marketing Strategy:
Joyride
Background:
We are in the business of providing reliable micro transportation to the downtown Auburn area.
There is no free on demand transportation in the area but many growing businesses.
A joyride in Auburn would provide thousands of people an easier opportunity to commute around
campus and downtown Auburn.
Over the next two years I plan to grow Joyride to a stable, household brand to students and
residence alike of the Auburn community. I plan to grow to Joyride to eight carts that would be
constantly and consistently used throughout the week. I six business in the downtown area would
be willing to sponsor a cart marketing package.
Specific target businesses would be: Skybar, Bourbon Street Bar, Quixotes, The Hound, Acre
Restaurant, Live Oaks, Avondale Bar Tap Room, Moes Original, Little Italy Pizzeria, Pieology
Pizzeria, Auburn Draft house, 17 16 Bar, Ellie Shoe Boutique, and Locker Room.
There are many, many businesses that would receive the full personalized sales pitch from me but
those listed above are those that I think have the expendable income to support a marketing
endeavor.
I believe that Joyride can take over a significant market share of the on demand transportation
service in the community since on demand ride shares have just been legalized in Auburn as of just
this August and the only competition Uber is just now getting the ball rolling themselves with no
market competition.
I am compelled to start Joyride in

The Renaissance Time Period
Renaissance time period was the beginning of many changes. However, not just in the field of art,
but also fields like science, mathematics, biology, and religion the staple of many works of art in
the past. This was the beginning stages of change, and Galileo would ultimately pay the price of
imprisonment for challenging what we thought we knew. Many great artists would also come from
this time. These artists would not just be you typical painters or sculptures from the past, but better
rounded knowledge based artists. Artists who would understand the scienceand mathematics behind

They did this by observation but that would and could only tell them what they see on the
outside. They wanted to see how the body worked from the inside to fully understand the
concept of how the body functioned and this is why they would dissect cadavers whenever they
could. The more knowledge they had about how the body worked, then the more they could
display that in their works of art. This can be seen in the work done by Michelangelo in the
marble sculptures of The Slaves and David . However, because it was still early in the
understanding of the body, many sculptures are still very straight and vertical. They won t be seen
twisting the limbs of the body that create movement in the art work. They don t fully have that
realistic emotional feel to the bodies yet. Later on as more understanding of the body is learned by
dissecting cadavers these sculptures by other great artists will go into great

The Topic of Defiance of Societal Rules in The Stranger...
All societies have societal norms and rules that citizens are expected to follow. Those who don t,
are either labeled as defiant or as a non conformist. One who defies societal rules doesn t
necessarily disobey deliberately, but rather because one s own beliefs don t parallel. In the novel
The Stranger by Albert Camusthere is a prevalence of characters breaking societal rules, but as a
result these characters face the consequences. Albert Camus connects these actions to the
overarching themes of the books in order to convey his message more effectively. To what extent
does the topic of defiance of societal rules in The Strangerconvey the theme of Absurdismin the

Meursault isolates himself from the lifestyle that the society attempts to condition him, but this
pressure from society isn t understood by him. One will not realize that they are breaking societal
rules if they are entrapped into a world of their own and believe that that world is perfectly fine the
way it is.
The sub theme of femininity is prevalent throughout the novel, however it is much more minor
compared to the larger ideas Albert Camus shares. Femininity is a theme that goes hand in hand
with Absurdism throughout the novel. It is through Meursault s indifference to love and women
that this theme becomes present. It is not a directly expressed much like the others. Not only
Meursault expresses this, but also Raymond. At the point in the novel after Raymond finds that his
girlfriend cheated on him and used Meursault to write the letter, Raymond shares with Meursault
the actions he took upon his girlfriend as if it were a righteous act. Raymond had smacked her
around. And then I told her exactly what I thought of her. I told her that all she was interested in
was getting into the sack. ... He d beaten her till she bled....What bothered him was that he still had
sexual feelings for her. (Camus 34) And the mere fact that Raymond only had sexual feelings shows
the lack in value of women. Meursault also shares this attitude towards women, specifically

Story Of An Hour Love
According to many dictionaries, when looking up the definition of love, you are sure to find
something along the lines of an intense feeling of deep affection. If you were to ask if this were
true, the chances of the answer being no is slim to none. Love is about being with someone no
matter the differences of opinion, through sickness and in health, in the bad times and the good
times. You lovethat person unconditionally and without a shadow of a doubt they are the one
person you want to spend forever with. Although this may be true in some instances, love as
portrayed in The Story of an Hour is unseemly. The idea of love is ironic in this story because of
how ecstatic Mrs. Mallard reacted to what an intensely in love wife would think is heart breaking
news. Mrs. Mallard seemed extremely over joyed and a feeling of freedom consumed her when she
learned of the news. In the short story, The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, Mrs. Mallard learns
of news that her husband has died while on the job. Her sister, Josephine, is the teller of the gut
wrenching message while also trying to dance around the cold, hard truth. Along with Josephine

life was indeed hers and there was no one in the way to stop it. In spite of her happiness, she
knew that she would inevitably shed some tears when she saw the kind, tender hands folded in
death; the face that had never looked save with love upon her, fixed and gray and dead (Chopin
p. 525) However, Mrs. Mallard looked past the unpleasant situation and began wishing for time to
dedicate only to herself. This is ironic because most of time when a loved one passes you feel sad
and depressed and the thought of happiness is nonexistent. People grieve and grieve until they
make themselves sick. Freedom, happiness and joy are not associated with death as it is in this
story with Mrs.

The Mystery Of The Jewel Birds
The Jewel Birds
Once there was a princess named Princess Ella. As she was walking in her palace gardens, she saw
a sign made out of gold and silver. It read, This way to Gold and Silver Orchard. Princess Ella
followed the arrow on the sign.
A little ways along the path, she came to another sign. It read, Keep following this path to get to
Gold and Silver Forest.
The princess wondered which path to take. What should I do? Princess Ella muttered to herself.
She decided to stay in the smaller Gold and Silver Orchard, and explore and enjoy herself while she
was there. Suddenly Princess Ella found that she was very tired, and she lay down to take a nap
under a shady tree. She slept for days!
When she finally woke up, she saw a big bird flying above her. She said to the bird, What a

The bird replied to her, Oh, my name is SilverBird. My name comes from what I am made of. I am

The Basque Region
The Basque region is in the northern part of Spain and Southern France. The Basque language is
completely different from any other language. Neither the language nor physical characteristics of
the people are comparable to any other culture, and not similar to French or Spanish. The Basque
people are mostly in Northern Spainand therefore are perceived for the most part, as a part of
Spain. In 1492 when the Catholic monarchies led the conquest of Spain, they found that the
Basque had a completely separate culture from the Spanish. Because of this they allowed them
political autonomy and rights to protect their culture. In 1876 the Spanish government abolished
these. This was the start of the Basque Nationalist Party, whose goal was to preserve the rights of
the Basque people. Because the Spanish took their rights away, it created negativity between them
starting in the 1800 s. Then in 1939 Francisco Franco came to power in Spain. Under Franco, the
Basque people suffered great losses of their rights. They were banned from the use of their language
and other cultural practices. While Franco was in power the new Basque nationalist group was
formed. University students founded the ETA(Euskadi Ta Askatasuna) in 1959. ETA stands for
Basque fatherland and liberty. These students did not believe that the Basque Nationalist party was

expectations. Krispy Kreme continued to outperform until 2004 when some accounting woes were

quite as good as they seemed. The firm s stock price quickly plummeted from its peak and lost

Krispy Kreme s investors enjoyed a quick return on their investment after the IPO. By the end of
2000 the stock price had doubled, then shot to a high of 4.5x the IPO price by mid 2001. Krispy

The Disciple Thomas
The disciple Thomas is a familiar Biblical character because of a specific incident involving his
disbelief. (John 20). Jesus had just risen from the dead and the rest of the disciples were elated
after seeing him. Thomas had not yet seen Jesus after His resurrection and he was adamant that
what his friends had witnessed couldn t be true. Nevertheless, he did have a certain curiosity and
willingly stayed with his friends in hopes of seeing what they saw. He just could not bring himself
to believe that Jesushad truly risen from the dead. He would not believe without beholding the
Christ before his own eyes and touching his wounds with his own hands. Thomas let his fear,
anxiety, and what seemed like logic take hold of him, and he had a hard time letting it all go. He
needed proof to justify what God had told him long ahead of time would happen. Thomas
learned a great lesson the day that Jesus appeared in the upper room before all of his disciples.
He was told by his Master that he would have been more blessed if he had only believed what he
could not see. As soon as Thomas felt Jesus wounds and saw him, he declared, My Lord and my
God (John 20.28). He was still greatly blessed, but not in the wonderful way that God wanted him
to be. What an important lesson for the Christian to learn;when God says something, he means it
and he doesn t intend to break his promise. Despite his doubt, Thomas was chosen by Jesus for a
reason and Jesus told him this himself in John 15.16. He

18th Amendment Dbq
Most people in American feel like they have to do what is justful for our country. Sometimes
what we believe is right, can become the complete opposite. On January 16, 1919 the 18th
Amendment was passed, but did not come into effect until the following year. This prohibited the
manufacturing, distributing, and selling of all alcoholic liquor but didn t prohibit the
consumption of intoxicating beverages. When they first passed this document they believed
what they were doing was important. To start off, how did history lead up to the banning of
alcohol in all fifty states. Then what issues and questions that they had back then, the debate
today, and how it let up to a revolution. Finally, what s my opinion and how I interpret the
amendment and what is happening today that can relate to this. To begin, how did this
amendment become so popular? For a saloon keeper it was hard to earn profit so they sometimes
introduced vices such as gambling and prostitution into their establishments in an attempt to earn
more. Many Americans considered saloons offensive and for the lower classes. This helped
spark a wave of strong religious revivalism that swept through the United States in the 1820 s and
1830 s. Hundreds protested against alcohol which was driven by mostly religious groups who call
alcohol and drunkenness a national cruse . Many of the followers believe if they abolish it that
abuse and violence would end causing a sober nation. The first temperance legislation appeared

that is all. There is only one reason people argue that gaming cannot be a sport. But there may be a
way to change that. When you think of a sport, what do you think? Just take basketball, for
example. Does it not take skill and practice? Well, video games you need those skills as well.
Bunch of practicing to enhance your reflexes so you do not die . Do you think that you could just
start playing a gameand become acceptable at it instantly? No, you need to practice, can you guess
what is similar?

Critical Analysis Of Serving In Florida By Barbara Ehrenreich
Serving in Florida Barbara Ehrenreich is a best selling author, who wrote the descriptive
narrative essay titled, Serving in Florida . In this writing, Ehrenreich tells the readers about her
experiment into seeing if it was truly possible to live off of minimum wage, in a low wage
community located in Florida. Ehrenreich initially published this writing in her novel called
Nickled and Dimed, but since then, it has also been published in other books for students in
school. In Serving in Florida , Ehrenreich finds a place to live for about $500 per month. While
living there, she had a waitressing job, paying 2.13 per hour plus tips. Throughout the writing,
Ehrenreich described the obstacles that made it almost impossible to live off of only minimum wage.
Nowadays, everyone living on their own, hopes to have a good job that pays the bills and lets
them live comfortably. In the writing Serving in Florida , Barbara Ehrenreich made a bold move,
and she conducted an experiment where she tested if it was possible to make a living off of
minimum wage. Ehrenreich found a place to live and got her waitressing job, paying 2.13 an hour
plus tips. She was ultimately focusing on the lives of people who were forced to live off of
minimum wage. Ehrenreich described all of this as an experiment to test a mathematical
proposition . During the 20th century, economic progress took over the idea of poverty, while
employees rights got taken away. This made Ehrenreich want to write

Psychopathy In The Sales Industry Case Study
In today s competitive market place organisations, it takes even more effort to be trust between
the prospective customer and seller. Most correct handling must be done in selling to the vendor
managed to gain agreement and eventually convincing him to buy from him because the world
is more cautious and reluctant to buy from anyone. О•mployers exploit their staff to have profit
in the company. Of course, this is done in most companies and employers pressuring sellers for
more sales so as earn more money. Sometimes the sellers going off limits to please their bosses but
also to get paid because the seller pays on the basis of their sales.
According to Robert Hare, Ph.D (2017), psychopathy is intraspecies predators who use charm,

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report presents a case study analysis of the Platinum Concepts Pty Ltd. Jim Gunsberger is in
his late thirties and is the inventor of the Terminator. The Terminator is a gender neutral wrist
accessory. It looks like a large, but stylish hi‐tech wrist watch. The Terminator has attracted
enormous popularity among a wide range of people in various walks of life. Jim s business is a

Essay on The Hours by Michael Cunningham
In his novel The Hours, Michael Cunningham creates a dazzling fabric of queer references
managing to intertwine the lives of three different women into one smooth narrative. In this essay,
I will discuss what makes The Hours queer literature, how the novel has contributed to the queer
genre, the cultural significance of the novel, and I will discuss several points made in Jeanette
McVicker s critical article Gaps and Absences in The Hours. My aim, however, is not to say that
Michael Cunningham s The Hours is strictly a queer novel, but to highlight what makes the novel
queer and to discuss Cunningham s idea of sexual orientationas a fluid entity. To begin my analysis
on the queer narrative in The Hours, we must fist discover what... Show more content on

It is considerably easier to identify the queerness of the novel s characters and author than its
political purpose. Michael Cunningham, the novel s author, is a gay male and openly
acknowledges that his sexual orientation influences his work as can be seen by the fact that many
of his novels involve gay characters and gay experiences. In particular, The Hours features three
women who each have same sex experiences Virginia Woolf
, Laura Brown, and Clarissa Vaughn.
Virginia Woolf is a married woman who had public affairs with women and who shares a chaste
kiss with her sister during her narrative. Woolf is also the author of Mrs. Dalloway, a novel that
centers on Clarissa Dalloway, a woman who feels the same way as men feel (Woolf 36) about
women, yet marries a man as society dictates.
Laura Brown is also a married woman, like both Woolf and Dalloway, but rather than having
affairs with women, she, like Clarissa Dalloway, feels bound by her role in society and is greatly
unhappy with her situation. For a brief moment, she breaks away from her heteronormative life
and seems to truly desire to break free from the gender roles forced upon her while sharing a kiss
with her neighbor s wife, Kitty.
The question has been silently asked and silently answered, it seems. They are both afflicted and
blessed, full of shared secrets, striving every moment. They are both impersonating

Personal Narrative-My Hero s Journey To Freedom
We watch Him gain His power legally, through the system. We watch as He turns us against the
ones we used to call our friends. We watch Him use the Proclamation, a way to weed out those
who didn t agree with His philosophies. We watch those that fight disappear. We watch others try

Through all this, I try and work by myself. After the last attempt, most people are too afraid to try

Intracranial Sinusitis
Discussion Intracranial infections are rare, but they are a very serious complication of sinusitis.
Diagnosis and treatment of complications of intracranial sinusitis is a challenge and requires close
cooperation between otolaryngology, neurosurgery, infectious diseases, neurology and
rehabilitation. Fortunately, their incidence has decreased considerably over the last decades due to
improved diagnosis and treatment of paroxysmal sinusitis [1]. Many data suggest that the
prognosis is more favorable in children with rapid diagnosis and aggressive treatment. Typically
hospital stay lasts from 15 to 30 days [3.8 10], while hospitalization of our patient is 47 days. No
patient usually has a history of sinusitis or any serious co morbidity. What is more, sinus symptoms
(such as purulent sputum) are usually rare. Both observations are consistent with other pediatric
reports (3,8,10) and our case. When evaluating an intracranial infection in a child, the possibility of
sinusitis should be considered, even in the absence of history in this direction. For many decades

Introduction
In a research project the researcher is either provided with a research idea by an organization
/university or he/she has to generate it by himself/herself. In both cases defining the research
question is of major importance for the success of the research project. In this short overview we
focus on the significance of research questions when one has to generate the idea and topic of a

Strong hypotheses give insight into a research question and give a hint on what we will find
when we answer the research question. A hypothesis gives therefore an a priori answer to the
research question. Punch (1998) makes the following connection between hypothesis and
research question: A specific research question states what we are trying to find out. The
hypothesis predicts, a priori, the answer to that question. Punch (1998) suggest that we do not
need a hypothesis in any case. It only makes sense when we have an explanation in mind behind
the hypothesis. A further question we should ask is what answer we expect and why. If we
expect a certain answer only because previous research has found it to be true, we do not need to
propose a hypothesis. To summarize and find out whether a hypothesis is reasonable one can
follow figure 1.
Is a hypothesis reasonable? Do you have an explanation in mind for the question?

Is the expected answer predictable?

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dentures
Say goodbye to your ill fitted, wobbly denture by getting a fixed permanent denture.
These days, dentists use a variety of restorations to correct a patient s teeth and make his smile
look attractive and natural. Unfortunately, some of the restorative dentistry procedures can be more
complicated and take weeks and even months to complete. Since some procedures like dental
implants can be considerably expensive, not all people are lucky to have fixed their teeth.
Dentures have long been used as a cost effective replacement solution for missing teeth. But after
some time this removable dental device starts to loosen and shifts, causing discomfort while eating,

Dentures, which are removable artificial teeth, always need a fixative such as an adhesive paste or
wafers to be held in place.
Applying adhesives is generally not a pleasant experience as in addition to the bad taste the pasty
substance produces uncomfortable feeling in the mouth.
Also, the bond between gum and denture is not always secure and dentures often slip and move
around when you laugh, cough, or eat, causing you a great deal of discomfort and embarrassment in
social or public situations.
Your gums and jawbone that supports the dentures are gradually eroded over a period of time and
the device may not fit as well as it initially used to.
Denture looseness and slippage can lead to gum irritation and sores, prompting you to return to the
dentist for necessary adjustments.
If poorly fitting or worn dentures are not replaced in time, they can lead to mouth sores, infections
or problems with eating and speech.
When a new set of dentures is inserted in the mouth it may feel a little odd and cause increased
salivary secretions but these problems will diminish as your mouth gets adjusted to this

Analysis Of Upton Sinclair s The Jungle And The Harvest...
Change is one of the most difficult things to do, it is always difficult to find what to change let
alone how to change. However, one of the key messages a writer can convey to an audience is
human compassion or empathy, to inspire action or change, and to bring about a deeper
understanding of the world. Both writer Upton Sinclairs fiction writing The Jungleand the non
fiction writing The Harvest Gypsies by John Steinbeck inform the reader of the difficulties faced
by immigrants and migrant workers. However while the author of The Jungle , Upton Sinclair, uses
descriptive details that show the plight of the immigrants, it is the deeper understanding of the
difficulties faced from the families in John Steinbeck s The Harvest Gypsies that are more
efficacious in evoking compassion and inspiring change.
In 1906 Upton Sinclair worked side by side with immigrants in the meatpacking industry
endeavoring to reveal what genuinely goes on within the factory walls. While doing so, Upton
Sinclair uses details that evoke compassion while bringing out a deeper understanding of their
world. In the fictional writing The Jungle, the author Upton Sinclair uses details such as ate as
much raw blood as food , mile after mile and describes the immigrant s journey as an endless vista
of pain and uncleanliness. Sinclair describes the journey of the immigrants as a journey of endless
suffering. It is the amount of suffering that the immigrants go through that evoke compassion while

Police Robots with Lethal Weapons, between Ethic and Dilemma
Protecting people s safety in the United States is the main duty of Police Department. They use
many ways to deal with it. One of the controversial issue in the police department is equipping the
robot with lethal weapons. Many people contrast with the idea since they think it will remove
the human element from policing. However, there are a lot of people also support the idea. Police
Department should not be allowed to carry police robot with any lethal weapons because robots
also have weaknesses, it can only be used by military forces in the battlefield, and also because
even a person who killed five police officers deserves due process.
There are at least three main reasons that police robot should not be allowed to carry lethal
weapons. Firstly, robots also have weaknesses. Indeed, we agreed that robots were simply
another tool in the police arsenal, but they which have been used by police since the 1990s, are
typically outfitted with cameras. The view of a robot is limited by the camera he carrying on, and
also limit the point of view of the police officers who control it. They cannot sense a dangerous

Persecution Of Christians
To understand Roman persecution of Christians, we must first understand the setting and context
for which it was in. Romans ruled when Jesus was crucified. The persecutions took place in the first
half century after the crucifixion. At this point in time, the Roman government did not take action
against Christians. They always looked at Christianityas an act of Judaism. Since they felt that it
was in the same category as Judaism, they felt it was only fair for Christians to have the same
religious privileges that the others had. In 64 AD, all of those feelings of toleration went
downhill. The great Fire of Rome left half a million people without a home. Rumor had it that the

Diocletian came along and changed the tune of the story. He tolerated the churches for a little
while, until he could not stand it any longer. He then waged what would be the final great
persecution. The first stage of his war on Christians was for the Christian churches to be
destroyed and for their holy text to be burned. Christians no longer had the rights and freedoms
that the laws once gave them. Diocletian then ordered for all clergy members to face
incarceration. Diocletian and Galerius teamed together to make things even worse for Christians.
They demanded that the Christians give up all they had for universal sacrifice or they would
face execution. Diocletian retired after this and Maximus Daia took over rule. He wanted the
governors to force all individuals to oblige as a sacrifice to the gods. The Christians faced a brutal
attack on their beliefs once more. Around 311 AD, Galerius was struck with a terrible sickness and
decided to end the persecutions. He decided that once and for all, Christians would have their legal
recognition granted to them. Roman persecution happened not because the Romans were not
accepting of new people. It happened because Christianity imposed a threat on Roman s imperial
region. Many other religions made up roman culture during this time. Christians had a mission
mindset and wanted to win everyone over for Christ. Pagans believed that Christians participated in
magic and superstition. While we hear many reasons and events for Roman persecution, Lactantius,
who ruled from 240 320 AD, claimed that the Christians using superstition and magic during Pagan
ceremonies caused the beginning of the outbreaks and persecutions of Christians. Although the
Romans tried to end Christianity, I believe these series of events only showed the religious
strength and made it as powerful and widespread as it is

The Philosophy Of Progressive Education
Progressive Education
Progressive Education refers to a pedagogical movement that started as a means to reform
traditional teaching methods. The approach in Progressive Education is a method of teaching that
recognises the value of self expression, flexible and informal classroom atmosphere and proper
attention for every student. It lays emphasis on learning through experience rather than memorising
facts without having clear understanding of certain concepts and literature. Progressive Education is
a result of the progressive thought of various 19th century educators who decided that there had to
be a better way of imparting knowledge and educating children. Some influential progressive
educators were John Dewey and William H. Kirkpatrick.
The primary philosophy behind Progressive Education is to build a system of education where a

Usually, such type of teaching is characterised by a rigid classroom atmosphere wherein the teacher
stands in the front of the classroom and teaches by delivering lectures. There is minimal scope for

leaning where students are allowed to explore their capacities. It teaches them how to think about
certain things and question them, and not about what to think and passively accept as facts of life.
This type of teaching acknowledges the need for greater interest and depth of understanding.

movies that are memorable for all. From Snow White to Frozen, Disney has been capturing
audience s attention no matter what age group. One of the most notable films is the Jungle Book.
The Jungle Book is an amazing story that takes viewer through the life of Mowgli who was a boy
that was raised by wolves. The young boy must leave from his wolf family in order to escape the
man eating tiger named Shere Khan. With the Indian boy s fellow companions Bagheera and Baloo

The movie is able to capture the great voices of the characters and easily match it up with the
amazing drawing skills of the animators at Walt Disney Studios. The characters drawn in a great
way and have great actors voicing behind them.
Characters are one of the most important part to any story, movie, or book. The protagonist in
The Jungle Book really makes the story that it is. The main character Mowgli plays a good role
in the story allowing the younger viewers to relate with him and his young age. The kids who
watch the movie can understand, love the child like comedy, and enjoy all the songs that the
characters sing together. The other two key protagonist, Bagheera and Baloo, really make things
easier for the parental viewers to relate too. When watching the movie any of the older audience
can see that Bagheera and Baloo are more like parents to the young Mowgli. They protect Mowgli
from danger and teach him valuable life lessons. With the protagonist appealing to both children
and parents, The Jungle Book makes this a great family friendly movie. On the other hand, there are
the antagonist in the movie like King Louie the orangutan, Kaa the snake, and the main antagonist
Shere Khan the tiger. When looking at these characters the viewer at first see the trickery of the
antagonist. Also all these characters are looking to do harm to the young Mowgli but again the
parent figures of Bagheera and Baloo come to

Sublimity During The Industrial Revolution
The Romantics notion of sublimity was completely altered by the adverse effects of the Industrial
Revolution during the 19th century. Before the worker became strictly engaged to the mechanism
that would lead to capitalism, they were once people who hand crafted their lives from nature from
where they lived. Romantics initially yearned to expose the natural feelings and thoughts through
various forms of artistic production found out in scenes that showed realism. However, with the
Industrial Revolutionunderway, Romantics turned their view to criticize actively, display the new
conditions of the worker, and give a new view of modernity outside of the factory. Romantics once
sought wonder (sublimity) through a lens that had shown the uncouth

Call Centers
Call Centers Roshni N. Makwana
Introduction A call centre is a centralised office used for the purpose of receiving and transmitting
a large volume of requests by telephone. A call centre is operated by a company to administer
incoming product support or information inquiries from consumers. Outgoing calls for
telemarketing, clientele, product services, and debt collection are also made. In addition to a call
centre, collective handling of letters, faxes, live chat, and e mails at one location is known as a
contact centre. A call centre is often operated through an extensive open workspace for call centre
agents, with work stations that include a computer for each agent, a telephone ... Show more content

Of course, you also need to consider customer experience and satisfaction, since many customers
will have questions or issues that cannot be handled automatically and will prefer to speak to an
agent.
4. CTI Computer Telephony Integration
CTI is used to combine computers and phone systems to provide advanced applications.
Computers can access databases of customer information, and can provide interactive applications
for use by call center reps. Phone systems can interact with the customer and provide information
such as inbound phone number (caller ID). By combining computer and phone system
technologies, you can create applications that improve call center capabilities and efficiency. For
example, you could create a screen pop up that uses the caller s phone number or a customer ID
entered via IVR to put caller information right in front of the agent to prepare for the conversation.
CTI can save a considerable amount of time, reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction.
Call Management, Call Tracking and Reporting
Reporting is one of the main factors in call center operations, and is vital for efficiently managing
your call center operation. You need to be able to anticipate call volumes in order to properly
schedule to meet service levels, and manage call center agents to be sure they are efficient and
responsive to customers. Real time reporting will offer you your live statistics of performances at
the present time, and your overall reporting

What Role Do Women Play In A Utopian Society
Utopia Meant for Everyone
The equality between men and women is something that has been desired to be integrated in
society by many. Woman have been the inferior sex for many decades. They were always seen
as men s property. They would be given away for marriage without their consent at the age of 13
and their received less education than the men. (Cartwright, par. 5 7) With time, it changed, they
were allowed to get better educated and thanks to the fights and protests, they gained rights. Yet,
even today with all the efforts to change the situation and all the progress we have made, the case
remains the same. Women are still considered inferior to men. Society is lead by men and their
beliefs. In North America, one of the social goals is to live the American dream and the dream is
in favor of a man s view of a perfect world. It doesn t take into consideration that this dream isn t
what both sexes have envisioned. This paper will argue that a man s utopia is a woman s dystopia.
This argument will be proven by the roles women played in utopian literature and in real modern
life.
First, I will describe the origin of the concept of utopia and how it evolved over the years. Then I
will compare two utopian based literary works to prove how older ... Show more content on

Over centuries, women s role in society has evolved and yet still remained the same. In the 20th
century the biggest advances in women s rights were made especially in the United States.
During the second World War, when all the men were sent off to the front lines, women were told
that it s their patriotic duties to fill in for the men in the public and private workforce sectors.
(Foust and Bradshaw, par. 7) That was when it was socially accepted for women to work. After the
war, when the men came back, the women were supposed to go back to the kitchen and serve their
husbands, also known as domestic containment. (Foust and Bradshaw, par

What three items to bring with you on a deserted island,...
Three Weeks On A Deserted Island
For how many years has man asked the question, what three items would you bring with you if
you were stranded on a deserted island? Well today that question will be answered. In the
following essay it will be proven that an axe, a deep metal skillet, and very large spool of thick
rope, would be the three items, which would help someone best survive for three weeks on a
deserted island. This will be proven through careful analysis of the uses of these items.
Now the first item chosen was an axe. The reasons that the axe was chosen as one of the three
items are numerous in amount. The first reason, is that something sharp would be needed in order
to survive, to kill animals to eat etc. and an axe is much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As previously stated the purification of this water is absolutely necessary for human survival.
Now there is more than one way that the water could be purified, but this is the simplest way to
do it with the least amount of materials. Now another thing that the skillet could be used for
would be as a weapon, to possibly immobilize a pig or other creature. The skillet could be taken
in one hand, and then the motion of beating the pig over the head could be used repeatedly, until
the pig was either dead or unconscious. Then if the pig was not dead the beating motion could
be continued with this or other weapons until it is sure that he is dead. A good sign to make
sure he s dead is when there is no heart beat, as well as severe infractions or fissures in his head.
Then all that would be left would be to cut the pigs head off and roast it over the fire like the
beast it is. The skillet could also be used in assistance of building a shelter. The skillet could be
used as a weight. The rope could be tied to the handle securely, then the skillet could be thrust
upward over a tree branch in order to secure the shelter to a tree, which would make it much more
secure in the event of adverse weather conditions. Also if necessary, the entire shelter could be
built in the tree. In that case the skillet could be used again to thrust into the tree with the rope, but
it could be used this time in order to climb up and then build from there using the rope and

The Little Red Chair Analysis
The Little Red Chair by Edna O Brien demonstrates the judgment of small towns in Ireland. When
a mysterious stranger arrives from an Irish town of Cloonoila, the town begins to talk and
question this man. Dr. Vladimir is an intriguing man and the town is dying to figure more about
the new visitor in town. The word around town is that Dr. Vladimir will practice as a Sex
Therapist, as Father Damien states, this is a Catholic country and chastity is our number one
commandment. Father Damien believes that Dr. Vladimir, we have to be ever vigilant and
SexTherapist sends the wrong signals...experimentation thrills.. deviances.. Dr. Vladimir was not
trying to send the wrong signals to the people of the town. As he stated, I thank you for having put
it so succinctly, but let me say, I am not here to snatch away souls or bodies from your faith. I am
here to do good. This statements demonstrate the importance of religionto some small towns. Also,
Father Damien did not want to seem judgmental, but he was to the career choice of Dr. Vladimir.
This small town in Ireland at this time is judgmental, O Brien throughout the novel focuses on the
different judgments the town has. In a comparison to today s present time this novel is a great
example of problems that the community faces in the 21st century.

Should Birth Control Pills Be Available For Teenage Girls...
As time passes and things change, so does a girl s body and many different things. Due to a lot of
processed foods and hormonal changes, girls nowadays are getting their menstrual cycle or also
known as their period. Therefore, birth control pills should be available for teenage girls without
any prescription. Giving birth controlpills to teenage girls can result in a very positive result.
Teenage girls can avoid pregnancyat a young age, they can lessen their menstrual cramps, and

As this generation goes on, a lot of foods are being processed with more and more hormones
every time. This causes little girls at the age of ten or eleven to start getting their menstrual
cycle due to all the hormones in the variety of foods. The young, undeveloped girls have so
many hormones that they result in an irregular menstrual cycle. As many people know, it is bad
for a girl s menstrual cycle to get delayed, within a period of a long time, because it can cause
various complications. The birth control pill will help regulate the majority of any irregular
menstrual cycles. Sometimes the girls do not want to talk to their doctor about the circumstances
because some are too young to even imagine what is coming their way. Girls will prefer to
conversate with their parents and then go to a pharmacy right away to get the pill. Even though,
the pill will not be effective immediately by the time their next cycle comes around the pill would
have regulated their menstrual cycle. Having over the counter birth pills is a faster and more
effective way instead of making an appointment and having to wait impatiently just for a
prescription. Girls at that age are not usually sexually active however there should be no chance so
the pill will avoid two frustrating

How Does Mrs Weston Present Emma
Mrs. Weston and Emma s relationship can also be seen in the reverse, however, because while
Mrs. Weston was Emma s governess, Emma was also teaching Mrs. Weston numerous things. Mr.
Knightley even noted this on page 29 where he says, but you were receiving a very good
education from her, on the very material matrimonial point of submitting your own will, and doing
as you were bid . The line points out that Emma has always been very bright and has always been
strong willed. This strong will often meant that Emma would try to do her own thing and
manipulate Mrs. Weston. Even though the friendshipbetween the two is referred to as being based
off, gratitude and esteem Emma definitely would try to get the situation in interest to go the way
she desired (19). Emma, however, never was ungrateful for Mrs. Weston s friendship and we can
see at times that the best thing for Emma can be Mrs. Weston s smile, touch, or voice (99).

educated than Emma. The only real area that Emma could teach him anything in is in the ways
of being a good husband, but the book never goes into their married life. Their educational
relationship in the novel seems to be very one sided. Mr. Knightley by far is not a perfect man
by any standards, but he is sure of himself and needs no changing from Emma. This is one of the
main reasons as to why his opinion matters so much to Emma because she knows that he is
already defined into the person he is, and is respected by others and she wants to be like

Rites Of The Catholic Church
One of the most important sacraments of the Catholic Church is the Eucharist, also known as Holy
Communion. The Eucharist is not merely the consumption of bread and wine, but a sacrifice and
meal full of symbols, rituals, meaning and community involvement. To gain an understanding of the
Eucharist, it is important to first to look at the symbols, how they were started, then to see how the
Christian community enter into the mystery of the sacrament and what they believe.
Symbols
There are many symbols of the Eucharist, bread, wine, water, chalice
There is a real presence of Christ in the form of bread and wine. In the Eucharist, Christ is present
in the totality of His being. The Second Vatican Council proclaimed that the
Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life the source and summit of the Christian life
(Vatican II, Lumen Gentium, Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, paragraph 11),The real
presence of Christ in the Eucharist comes about through transubstantiation meaning to change on
an in perceivable level, we believe that bread and wine changes at a fundamental level have
become the body and blood of Christ as a result of our prayers to God. St Augustine s sermon 272
stated that for what you see is simply bread and a cup this is the information your eyes report, but
your faith demands far subtler insight the bread if Christ s body and the cup is Christ s blood
We can argue that the Eucharist is a mystery. But what is the source of the Church s

Analysis Of Chopin s Chopin
This news comes from her husband s friend, who says that Brently Mallard has died in a railroad
accident. Mrs. Mallard s sister, Josephine, mindful of Mrs. Mallard s heart condition, breaks the
news to her in broken sentences and veiled hints (193). But when Mrs. Mallard hears the shocking
news, she undergoes a profound transformation that empowers her with a clear and exalted
perception (194). As Chopin demonstrates, this heightened consciousness comes to the protagonist
because of her awakened emotions. Revealing her own dynamic and avant garde understanding,
Chopin rejects the tradition of attributing supremacy to the faculty of reason in the act of
perception, and she attributes it instead to the faculty of emotions.
When she hears the news of her husband s death, Mrs. Mallard s obliviousness to the beauty of life
breaks down under the powerful impact of emotion. Until this moment, Mrs. Mallard hardly thinks
it worthwhile to continue her existence; as the narrator of the story says, It was only yesterday
[Mrs. Mallard] had thought with a shudder that life might be long (194). Her life until this point
seems devoid of emotion, as the lines in her face besp[ea]k repression (193). Upon hearing the
news, her sorrow gushes out in a torrent: She wept at once with sudden, wild abandonment (193).
The narrator points out, however, that Mrs. Mallard is not struck, as many women have been, by a
paralyzed inability to accept the painful sense of loss (193). On

Aerodynamics, A Subset Of Fluid Dynamics
Aerodynamics, a subset of fluid dynamics, is the study of the behavior of objects when exposed
to air. Hydrodynamics, another subset of fluid dynamics, is very similar to aerodynamics and has
similar laws. However, hydrodynamics shows the behavior of liquids instead of gasses. Reynolds
Numbers, created by British scientist and engineer Osborne Reynolds, describe the way fluids
behave against objects. Bernoulli s principle, discovered by Daniel Bernoulli, states that faster
fluid flow creates lower pressure, and slower fluid flow creates higher pressure.
There are 4 main forces, drag, lift, thrust and weight. Lift is the force that counters weight. It occurs
when the pressure of the object below the object is greater than the pressure above it. The
second force, thrust, counters drag. It propels the object in a given direction and can be provided
by turbofans, turboprops, propfans, etc. on an airplane, but can also be provided for an arrow by
the bowstring. Weight counters lift and varies with mass. The greater the mass, the greater the
force of weight is. The last force, drag, counters thrust. The air particles stick to the object, creating
friction and heat which slows the object. Drag occurs everywhere where there is a fluid, with
almost (practically) no effect in space.
With the four main forces, flight can occur. There are two types of flight, powered flight and coastal
flight. Powered flight continuously uses energy to fly for periods of time, such as throwing an

Dsm-5 Classification
One major change in the category of the substance related disorders is that DSM 5 uses an
overarching concept substance use disorder rather than two distinguished concepts in DSM IV,
which are substance abuse and substance dependence. As the diagnostic categorization changed,
two sets of criteria 4 aspects for abuse and 7 aspects for dependence are replaced with a single
set of criteria 11 aspects for substance use disorder with 3 levels of severity (mild: 2 3,
moderate: 4 5, or severe: 6 or more) sub classification. The contents of criteria are almost same,
however, a criterion of legal problem is omitted and a new criterion that asks craving to use the
specific substance is added. Another change is that DSM 5 classifies 10 classes of substances in
addition to 1 addictive disorder whereas DSM IV TR recognizes 13 classes of substances. For
example, DSM 5 puts together Amphetamine Related and Cocaine Related Disorders into
Stimulant Related Disorders with sub categories (Amphetamine type, Cocaine, or other stimulants).
On the other hand, for almost all substance induced disorders, the same criteria of intoxication and
withdrawal are used in both DSM 5 and DSM IV TR (e.g. Alcohol intoxication, and alcohol
withdrawal). Recording Procedure.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

clinician may indicate a stimulant user as, [F14.24 Severe cocaine use disorder with cocaine

It is hard enough to make yourself as a dancer, it is even harder to become one in the amidst of
the war. The Chosen Maiden, by Eva Stachniak, tells the story of Bronia Nijinsky s life as a
professional dancer from a child to a grown woman. The majority of the novel takes place during
World War One and follows Bronia as she must learn to support her familyand survive the war.
Stachniak takes Bronia s real life experiences and turns them into a wonderful work of fiction,
blending fact with fiction effectively. To begin, the author creates compelling family dynamics. To

This book is unique because it is a detailed biography about the events in Bronia s life. The
readers learn that Bronia and her brother Valsav are very different from others in the dance
industry because they are trying to change the face of ballet by modernizing it; Modern ballet
should break boundaries, chart new paths, achieve the unity of music and movements. Modern
ballet should be a feast for the eyes (Stachniak 99). Bronia has quite an interesting life outside of
her professional career. It is interesting to see how she starts as a dancer and the things she must
overcome throughout her life. For instance, once Bronia marries Sasha, another dancer, they have
two kids, Irina and Levushka; and she must learn on how her career choices will affect her entire
family. Throughout the novel Bronia becomes more courageous especially once she has to deal
with several of Sasha s affairs. She eventually leaves him after one of his mistresses becomes
pregnant; this is quite like the situation her parents were in at the beginning of the novel. To
conclude, The Chosen Maiden is a good book because the characters are unique and the readers

The Importance of Being Earnest Essay
AThe Importance of Being Earnest a play written by Oscar Wilde is set in England in the late
Victorian era. Wilde uses obvious situational and dramatic irony within the play to satirize his
time period. According to Roger Sale in Being Ernest the title has a double meaning to it and is
certainly another example of satire used by Wilde. With a comedic approach, Wilde ridicules the
absurdities of the character s courtship rituals, their false faces, and their secrets. (Sale, 478) In the
Victorian era, courtship rituals were slightly different from modern time courtships. It started with
couples speaking first, going out together, and finally they would keep each other company after
mutual attraction was confirmed. The character... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pardon me, you are not engaged to anyone. When you do become engaged to someone, I, or your
father, should his health permit him, will inform you of the fact. An engagement should come
on a young girl as a surprise, pleasant or unpleasant, as the case may be. It is hardly a matter that
she could be allowed to arrange for herself (Wilde, 622). Lady Bracknell s harsh criticism and
stubborn ways are customary of upper class mothers in the era. Ironically enough, Algernon later
develops a kind of forbidden love. The object of his affection is young and being taught to be
unimaginative and serious. One thing that Jack and Algernon have in common is that they both
have these false faces. Algernon s alter ego Bunbury is a version of himself used in the country but
he uses Ernest to marry Cecily. The story deals with Ernest, this immorally imaginary man that both
Cecily and Gwendolyn become engaged to, it exemplifies the irony within the name. Most of the
irony comes from this character. One of Wilde s satiric targets is romantic and sentimental love,
which he ridicules by having the women fall in love with a man because of his name rather than
more personal attributes. Gwendolyn said No, there is very little music in the name Jack, if any at
all, indeed. It does not thrill. It produces

  • 2. Sleeping Disorders In Older Adults Sleep and Sleep Disorders in the Older Adult There are four main reasons why we sleep. The first is for cardiovascular relaxation which lower blood pressure, lowers heart rate, and lowers metabolic rate. The second reason is for mental and physical restorative properties. Lack of sleep will then manifest itself with physical and cognitive side effects such as fatigue, difficulty focusing, slower response times, memory problems, decreased balance, and decreased ability to perform tasks. The third reason we sleep is to help with learning. Studies have shown that good sleep prior to taking tests increases performance. Finally sleep is the only cure for sleepiness. Daytime sleepiness can cause a person to fall asleep while reading, watching television, talking to others, or even driving. Not getting enough sleep puts people at risk for hypertension and coronary events. It also increases morbidity and mortality.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sleep apnea leads to increased blood pressure and daytime sleepiness. The apnea is caused by a blocking of the airway. There are three main reasons for this blockage. One reason is obesity, when excess fat causes too much pressure and restricts air flow. Excessive relaxation of the neck muscles caused by deep sleep, alcohol, sedatives and smoking is another cause. And finally there can be a structural abnormality due to enlarged tonsils, enlarged tongue, excessive tissues, a receding lower jar, or a tumor. There are three different levels of obstructive sleep apnea and they are classified by how many 10 second or more episodes of apnea occur within our hour of sleep. Mild is 5 to 14 episodes, moderate with 15 to 30 episodes, and finally severe is more than 30 episodes of apnea in one hour of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Panthers Research Paper Front runner In Carolina s two games this postseason, the Panthers have jumped out to huge leads. Leading 31 0 against the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional Round and 24 7 against the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship Game at halftime of both games, the Panthers have become accustomed to front running. Carolina has been a front running team all year, scoring early and often en route to a league high 15 wins. If the Panthers can get out to a big early lead against the Broncos, Denver s offense doesn t seem equipped to make a big comeback. Carolina quarterback Cam Newton, who was named NFL MVP Saturday night, was the runaway front runner to win the award after a stellar regular season. Pressure After applying constant pressure to ... Against the New York Giants in the regular season and against Seattle in the playoffs, Carolina held an overwhelming lead but let both teams climb nearly all the way back. In the biggest game of their lives, can the Panthers maintain their composure throughout the entire game? An extra long half time break and the pre game hype that surrounds the Super Bowl could be a factor. Manning hasn t always played well in the big game, just look at the Broncos 43 8 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl two years ago. Quite simply, people want to work with him and they believe in his vision and are inspired by his passion. In an interview for this paper, an employee who elected to remain anonymous claimed there is a saying at SpaceX No matter how hard you work, someone else is working harder one might imagine who that someone else is. His emphasis on loyalty and hard work allows a certain level of independence for employees. There are two perspectives to consider in quantifying success. The first is from the perspective of the company s owners which are shareholders. From the investors perspective quantifying success is quite easy. • 5. Personal Narrative Essay On Robert Newsom s Poem It was a hot summer day in 1850 when I first set eyes on a man named Robert Newsom. I was sold to him from my former master at just the age of fourteen. Newsom was an older man with an eerie look upon his face, he looked to be in his sixties. I didn t like him, something about the way he looked at me made the hair on the back of my neck stand up and the sick feelingin the pit of my stomach didn t help the situation. My former master and him shook hands and nodded in my direction as I was escorted away into Newsom s possession. The old man talked to me as I sat beside him on the way back to his plantation, although I couldn t understand what he was saying over the loud pitter pattering of my heart beating so fast. I was uncomfortable and scared, I didn t know what was to become of me, these feelings only escalated as I felt the warm clench of his hand on my upper thigh, I turned to look up at him with what I can imagine a look of horror just before he raped me. I had only ever heard stories of women being raped by their masters but never ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All I knew was that he was gone, but not his body. I came to the conclusion that I should burn it, so I did. I pulled up my torn and ragged sleeves and proceeded to search the yard or things to build a fire with, a fire big enough to get rid of his wretched body. I dragged his lifeless corpse over to the fireplace and watched as it caught aflame. I sat there just staring at it for hours on end, adding more fuel to the fire when need be. Soon the early morning came, but the bones remained stricken of his rotten flesh so I attempted to smash them to bits upon the stone, and succeeded other than a few big pieces which I stashed away under the floor and stone. The ashes were everywhere and overflowing so I carried what I could out upon the brink of exhaustion and soon enough fell ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Review Selection of a Standardized Test Introduction Test administrators should understand and clarify why the test taker is being assessed,(American Educational Research, 2014). Additionally, they should also understand why certain tests, inventories, and diagnostic procedures are selected. As a student, in the process of achieving a Master s degree in clinical psychology, it is essential to be aware of the reasons for certain tests, their reliability, and validity. It targets executive functions like impulse control, flexible problem solving skills, controlling emotional responses, regulating behavior in social settings, generating ideas and initiating activities, cognitive skills, planning, and organizing, and lastly, task monitoring, (Roth et al, 2005). The last test, that will be reviewed, is Conners Comprehensive Behavior Rating Scales (CBRS). The target population, for this test, includes individuals whose ages range from 6 to 18. • 8. Education Is The Most Important Aspect Of Life Philosophers say that life is one unending lesson, that the absorption of knowledge never ends. This motto is superbly represented in all of the pieces that Ms. Frankenberg s Composition class has read, watched, or listened to. Whether this education has been obvious or not, through a classroom or another medium, it is usually delivered in lessons that are meant to last a lifetime. By dissecting all of the aspects that can be taken from these educational situations, the credit goes to those who taught them, and it is to those individuals whom we should give credit for the lesson. These lessons are great additions to their legacy resume , or the unofficial track of a person s accomplishments throughout their lifetime. It is in this way that legacy can be discovered, even if legacy means something different to each individual. Education is the most important aspect of life; parents teach their children, teachers educate their students, employers train their employees, and even the President of the United States is educated on important details by his advisors. Education does not just mean a school and a professor, it means any learning at anytime and anywhere. This reason is exactly why education is one of the most crucial parts of any legacy. Education is universal, without it no one would even know what a legacy is, much less retain the intelligence to create a legacy of their own. • 9. Marketing Strategy For The Downtown Auburn Area Essay Marketing Strategy: Joyride Background: We are in the business of providing reliable micro transportation to the downtown Auburn area. There is no free on demand transportation in the area but many growing businesses. A joyride in Auburn would provide thousands of people an easier opportunity to commute around campus and downtown Auburn. Over the next two years I plan to grow Joyride to a stable, household brand to students and residence alike of the Auburn community. I plan to grow to Joyride to eight carts that would be constantly and consistently used throughout the week. I six business in the downtown area would be willing to sponsor a cart marketing package. Specific target businesses would be: Skybar, Bourbon Street Bar, Quixotes, The Hound, Acre Restaurant, Live Oaks, Avondale Bar Tap Room, Moes Original, Little Italy Pizzeria, Pieology Pizzeria, Auburn Draft house, 17 16 Bar, Ellie Shoe Boutique, and Locker Room. There are many, many businesses that would receive the full personalized sales pitch from me but those listed above are those that I think have the expendable income to support a marketing endeavor. I believe that Joyride can take over a significant market share of the on demand transportation service in the community since on demand ride shares have just been legalized in Auburn as of just this August and the only competition Uber is just now getting the ball rolling themselves with no market competition. Those who don t, are either labeled as defiant or as a non conformist. One who defies societal rules doesn t necessarily disobey deliberately, but rather because one s own beliefs don t parallel. In the novel The Stranger by Albert Camusthere is a prevalence of characters breaking societal rules, but as a result these characters face the consequences. The sub theme of femininity is prevalent throughout the novel, however it is much more minor compared to the larger ideas Albert Camus shares. Femininity is a theme that goes hand in hand with Absurdism throughout the novel. It is through Meursault s indifference to love and women that this theme becomes present. It is not a directly expressed much like the others. Not only Meursault expresses this, but also Raymond. At the point in the novel after Raymond finds that his girlfriend cheated on him and used Meursault to write the letter, Raymond shares with Meursault the actions he took upon his girlfriend as if it were a righteous act. • 14. Story Of An Hour Love According to many dictionaries, when looking up the definition of love, you are sure to find something along the lines of an intense feeling of deep affection. If you were to ask if this were true, the chances of the answer being no is slim to none. Love is about being with someone no matter the differences of opinion, through sickness and in health, in the bad times and the good times. You lovethat person unconditionally and without a shadow of a doubt they are the one person you want to spend forever with. Although this may be true in some instances, love as portrayed in The Story of an Hour is unseemly. The idea of love is ironic in this story because of how ecstatic Mrs. Mallard reacted to what an intensely in love wife would think is heart breaking news. Mrs. Mallard seemed extremely over joyed and a feeling of freedom consumed her when she learned of the news. In the short story, The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, Mrs. Mallard learns of news that her husband has died while on the job. Her sister, Josephine, is the teller of the gut wrenching message while also trying to dance around the cold, hard truth. Along with Josephine was Richards, a friend of... Neither the language nor physical characteristics of the people are comparable to any other culture, and not similar to French or Spanish. The Basque people are mostly in Northern Spainand therefore are perceived for the most part, as a part of Spain. In 1492 when the Catholic monarchies led the conquest of Spain, they found that the Basque had a completely separate culture from the Spanish. Because of this they allowed them political autonomy and rights to protect their culture. In 1876 the Spanish government abolished these. This was the start of the Basque Nationalist Party, whose goal was to preserve the rights of the Basque people. Because the Spanish took their rights away, it created negativity between them starting in the 1800 s. Then in 1939 Francisco Franco came to power in Spain. Jesus had just risen from the dead and the rest of the disciples were elated after seeing him. Thomas had not yet seen Jesus after His resurrection and he was adamant that what his friends had witnessed couldn t be true. Nevertheless, he did have a certain curiosity and willingly stayed with his friends in hopes of seeing what they saw. He just could not bring himself to believe that Jesushad truly risen from the dead. He would not believe without beholding the Christ before his own eyes and touching his wounds with his own hands. Thomas let his fear, anxiety, and what seemed like logic take hold of him, and he had a hard time letting it all go. He needed proof to justify what God had told him long ahead of time would happen. Thomas learned a great lesson the day that Jesus appeared in the upper room before all of his disciples. He was told by his Master that he would have been more blessed if he had only believed what he could not see. As soon as Thomas felt Jesus wounds and saw him, he declared, My Lord and my God (John 20.28). He was still greatly blessed, but not in the wonderful way that God wanted him to be. On January 16, 1919 the 18th Amendment was passed, but did not come into effect until the following year. This prohibited the manufacturing, distributing, and selling of all alcoholic liquor but didn t prohibit the consumption of intoxicating beverages. When they first passed this document they believed what they were doing was important. To start off, how did history lead up to the banning of alcohol in all fifty states. Then what issues and questions that they had back then, the debate today, and how it let up to a revolution. Finally, what s my opinion and how I interpret the amendment and what is happening today that can relate to this. To begin, how did this amendment become so popular? For a saloon keeper it was hard to earn profit so they sometimes introduced vices such as gambling and prostitution into their establishments in an attempt to earn more. Many Americans considered saloons offensive and for the lower classes. This helped spark a wave of strong religious revivalism that swept through the United States in the 1820 s and 1830 s. Hundreds protested against alcohol which was driven by mostly religious groups who call alcohol and drunkenness a national cruse . In this writing, Ehrenreich tells the readers about her experiment into seeing if it was truly possible to live off of minimum wage, in a low wage community located in Florida. Ehrenreich initially published this writing in her novel called Nickled and Dimed, but since then, it has also been published in other books for students in school. In Serving in Florida , Ehrenreich finds a place to live for about $500 per month. While living there, she had a waitressing job, paying 2.13 per hour plus tips. Throughout the writing, Ehrenreich described the obstacles that made it almost impossible to live off of only minimum wage. Nowadays, everyone living on their own, hopes to have a good job that pays the bills and lets them live comfortably. In the writing Serving in Florida , Barbara Ehrenreich made a bold move, and she conducted an experiment where she tested if it was possible to make a living off of minimum wage. A hypothesis gives therefore an a priori answer to the research question. The hypothesis predicts, a priori, the answer to that question. Punch (1998) suggest that we do not need a hypothesis in any case. It only makes sense when we have an explanation in mind behind the hypothesis. A further question we should ask is what answer we expect and why. If we expect a certain answer only because previous research has found it to be true, we do not need to propose a hypothesis. To summarize and find out whether a hypothesis is reasonable one can follow figure 1. Is a hypothesis reasonable? Do you have an explanation in mind for the question? However, one of the key messages a writer can convey to an audience is human compassion or empathy, to inspire action or change, and to bring about a deeper understanding of the world. Both writer Upton Sinclairs fiction writing The Jungleand the non fiction writing The Harvest Gypsies by John Steinbeck inform the reader of the difficulties faced by immigrants and migrant workers. However while the author of The Jungle , Upton Sinclair, uses descriptive details that show the plight of the immigrants, it is the deeper understanding of the difficulties faced from the families in John Steinbeck s The Harvest Gypsies that are more efficacious in evoking compassion and inspiring change. In 1906 Upton Sinclair worked side by side with immigrants in the meatpacking industry endeavoring to reveal what genuinely goes on within the factory walls. While doing so, Upton Sinclair uses details that evoke compassion while bringing out a deeper understanding of their world. They use many ways to deal with it. One of the controversial issue in the police department is equipping the robot with lethal weapons. Many people contrast with the idea since they think it will remove the human element from policing. However, there are a lot of people also support the idea. Police Department should not be allowed to carry police robot with any lethal weapons because robots also have weaknesses, it can only be used by military forces in the battlefield, and also because even a person who killed five police officers deserves due process. There are at least three main reasons that police robot should not be allowed to carry lethal weapons. Firstly, robots also have weaknesses. Indeed, we agreed that robots were simply another tool in the police arsenal, but they which have been used by police since the 1990s, are typically outfitted with cameras. The persecutions took place in the first half century after the crucifixion. At this point in time, the Roman government did not take action against Christians. They always looked at Christianityas an act of Judaism. Since they felt that it was in the same category as Judaism, they felt it was only fair for Christians to have the same religious privileges that the others had. He tolerated the churches for a little while, until he could not stand it any longer. He then waged what would be the final great persecution. The first stage of his war on Christians was for the Christian churches to be destroyed and for their holy text to be burned. Christians no longer had the rights and freedoms that the laws once gave them. Diocletian then ordered for all clergy members to face incarceration. Diocletian and Galerius teamed together to make things even worse for Christians. They demanded that the Christians give up all they had for universal sacrifice or they would face execution. Diocletian retired after this and Maximus Daia took over rule. He wanted the governors to force all individuals to oblige as a sacrifice to the gods. The Christians faced a brutal attack on their beliefs once more. Around 311 AD, Galerius was struck with a terrible sickness and decided to end the persecutions. He decided that once and for all, Christians would have their legal recognition granted to them. Roman persecution happened not because the Romans were not accepting of new people. It happened because Christianity imposed a threat on Roman s imperial region. Many other religions made up roman culture during this time. Christians had a mission mindset and wanted to win everyone over for Christ. Pagans believed that Christians participated in magic and superstition. While we hear many reasons and events for Roman persecution, Lactantius, who ruled from 240 320 AD, claimed that the Christians using superstition and magic during Pagan ceremonies caused the beginning of the outbreaks and persecutions of Christians. Although the Romans tried to end Christianity, I believe these series of events only showed the religious strength and made it as powerful and widespread as it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Woman have been the inferior sex for many decades. They were always seen as men s property. Mrs. Mallard s sister, Josephine, mindful of Mrs. Mallard s heart condition, breaks the news to her in broken sentences and veiled hints (193). But when Mrs. Mallard hears the shocking news, she undergoes a profound transformation that empowers her with a clear and exalted perception (194). As Chopin demonstrates, this heightened consciousness comes to the protagonist because of her awakened emotions. Revealing her own dynamic and avant garde understanding, Chopin rejects the tradition of attributing supremacy to the faculty of reason in the act of perception, and she attributes it instead to the faculty of emotions. When she hears the news of her husband s death, Mrs. Mallard s obliviousness to the beauty of life breaks down under the powerful impact of emotion. • 51. Aerodynamics, A Subset Of Fluid Dynamics Aerodynamics, a subset of fluid dynamics, is the study of the behavior of objects when exposed to air. Hydrodynamics, another subset of fluid dynamics, is very similar to aerodynamics and has similar laws. However, hydrodynamics shows the behavior of liquids instead of gasses. Reynolds Numbers, created by British scientist and engineer Osborne Reynolds, describe the way fluids behave against objects. Bernoulli s principle, discovered by Daniel Bernoulli, states that faster fluid flow creates lower pressure, and slower fluid flow creates higher pressure. There are 4 main forces, drag, lift, thrust and weight. Lift is the force that counters weight. It occurs when the pressure of the object below the object is greater than the pressure above it. The second force, thrust, counters drag. It propels the object in a given direction and can be provided by turbofans, turboprops, propfans, etc. on an airplane, but can also be provided for an arrow by the bowstring. Weight counters lift and varies with mass. The greater the mass, the greater the force of weight is. The last force, drag, counters thrust. The air particles stick to the object, creating friction and heat which slows the object. Drag occurs everywhere where there is a fluid, with almost (practically) no effect in space. With the four main forces, flight can occur. There are two types of flight, powered flight and coastal flight. It started with couples speaking first, going out together, and finally they would keep each other company after mutual attraction was confirmed. The character... An engagement should come on a young girl as a surprise, pleasant or unpleasant, as the case may be. It is hardly a matter that she could be allowed to arrange for herself (Wilde, 622).
