Social Learning
 Allows people to learn with or learn from others in a group, in person or online.
 Learners share and collaborate with others who have the same interest.
 Allows learners to problem solve.
 Keeps learners engaged and allow them to adapt to a learning environment.
 Motivates learners to increase their knowledge level.
 Allows the learner to attempt the new task after modeling has taken place.

Problem Solving Through Social Learning
 Problem solving processes are different when comparing social learning and formal
training.
 Formal training – students learn to solve a problem from the trainer.
 Social training – students or employees work together to solve a problem.
 Problem-solving through social learning impacts motivation.
 Social learning help employees to collaborate and solve issues.
 Employees get the idea from using social media tools.
 Employees do not have to wait for a training class to solve certain issues.

 Problem-solving processes are different when comparing social learning and formal
training.
 Informal training, the students or trainees get the idea of how to solve a problem from
the trainer.
 However, in social learning, the students or employees work together to solve a problem
in a less structured environment.
 The similarities between the two is that both would require the use of technology and the
expectation is that the learners retain and transfer the information.
 Problem-solving through social learning also impacts motivation.
 Motivation remains high if the employee feels that there are advancement opportunities
within the company and he is involved in decision making or problem-solving processes.

employees to foster relationship and use each other’s prior knowledge.
 Learners can gain an understanding of the difference between social media

objectives and goals.
 Individual employees are impacted by social learning in an organization in

 Employees normally perform better and as a team because guidelines have

individuals to connect and interact with virtual
communities. Facebook provides users with
the following abilities:
 Become members of groups and pages.
 Participate in interactive online chat in real
time approach.
 Access content relative the communities
you are active within.
 Advertise to reach an audience that you
desire to captivate.

Instagram connects immediately and deeply
allowing for opportunities to share information
quick. This platform provides users with the
following capabilities:
 Connecting with users across multiple
platforms.
 Building a community that is re-visit
platform.
 Attracting other users via image rather than
wording.
 Knowledge of accessibility to other users
before publishing content.

GoToMeeting is an application piece that
allows user to connect virtually in face to face
formatting. This program allows users to:
 User-friendly format for video chatting.
 Collaborate with multiple users at one time.
 Offers flexibility in scheduling meetings.
 Allows for instant messaging while chatting.

Skype
Skype allows the opportunity to voice chat or
video call. In using the platform Skype you are
able to do the following:
 Enhance productivity and communication.
 Explore many other features offered by the
program.
 High quality voice calling.
 Ability to access the platform anywhere.
How to Set Up a Social Media Account
To create a Facebook account:
 Go to www.facebook.com/r.php.
 Enter your name, email or mobile phone number, password, date of birth and gender.
 Click Create an Account.
 To finish creating your account, you need to confirm your email or mobile phone number.
Summary
 Social media, to a great degree, has replaced face-to-face interactions with people.
 People are communicating more and more online through various social media channels and less and less in
person.
 Building and maintaining strong online relationships make people very happy and when they are happy, they
will also enjoy good health (both physically and mentally).
 Social media is a benefit to organizations and businesses.
 Social media allows two-way communication to take place.
 Social media is becoming the new way to communicate.
 It is also a new method of professionally developing staff.

  • #6 Employers and organizations can use social learning to solve workplace problems. Employees can gather information to fix issues at work or to advance within their organization. Employees do not have to waiting for an upcoming training class. Companies can save money used on expensive training sessions.
  • #7 Learners set their eyes on how to fix a problem and social learning allows them the opportunity to do that. Social learning help employees to collaborate and resolve issues. These employees are happier because they know that there is someone that they can work within the organization or outside of the organization to solve the problem.
  • #8 Individuals must ensure that they understand and are being responsible by following organization rules, guidelines, and regulations. When there is responsible use within organizations all parties benefit.
  • #9 Facebook is a single- sign on platform that aggregates many forms of social media such as messaging, images, videos, chatting, events, discussion and links. Facebook “one stop shop” approach will allow employees to collaborate and interact with one another.
  • #10 Instagram is a program that allows for content to be streamlines. You are able to access quick how to videos and captivate with images. Instagram too attracts similar communities of the content in which a user presents. This allows for employees to build a stronger professional network.
  • #11 GoToMeeting is a professional virtual meeting system that allows for organizations to be flexible in meeting times and places. It build the ability to collaborative in real time in efforts to increase the productivity of an organization.
  • #12 Skype is a platform that allows for users to video call or video chat. Skype also has features such as texting and image sharing. This allows employees to work collectively on projects to support the organization.
  • #13 Facebook accounts may be set up via desktop or through an app. After setting up your account, begin searching for your company and begin following the company or school. Later search for friends and send them an invite. Your friend base will eventually increase.
