Introduction
 Learning Management System, LMS is a web based
application for e-learning programs and training contents.
 This project is aimed towards creating a base for sharing
Study and Research materials among various Design
colleges in India.
Introduction
 Emphasis is to be laid on coordination
among various Design Schools so as to
encourage the standard of education.
 Such a platform will add to the
resources available to the students and will
help in the expanding the knowledge base
of the students.
Why a new system ?
 A portal such as this intends to help in sharing the
works of students and faculties of different Design
Colleges in India. This forum will be named as
www.designgyan.com, “Gyan” meaning Knowledge.
 Such a system does not exist currently, but there is a
huge demand for the same.
Why a new system ?
 There are a lot of problems faced by the students
due to the lack of such a facility.
 Students remain dependent on others for content
based resources.
 Content to be shared can be in form of PDF, PPT,
Word Doc, Images, CDR files, DWG( Auto CAD )
files, Designs, Videos, Audios etc.
• Such materials can be used for reference purposes
by different students across the country.
Advantages
Saves Time
Affordable
Consistent Interactive & Collaborative
 To increase the volume of self paced learning
 To save extra costs such as travel costs and paperwork
 To develop better administration and efficient learning
 To create a centralized learning environment
 To enhance the ability to upload and manage documents
containing curriculum content
 The proposed system can be further improved by
alignment between features being offered and those
desired by the Campus community.
 This system can be accessed from anywhere as the user is
simply required to have only a Login ID. But, the level of
access will vary between a Student of a registered Design
College or any other Guest user.
 The Needs and Preferences of users will to be maintained,
and they will be notified about latest materials through mail.
Scope
 Learning depends on more and more interactions and
connections. This can be done by maintaining a large
collection of study materials.
 This system will have tools for distribution, i.e. tools to
upload documents and make them available.
 The system will also have various tools for
Communication such as :-
• Server to student – E-mail about latest notifications
• Reaction and Feedback – Discussion Boards and
Blogs.
 Hosting and Support ; Hardware & Software requirements
 Security Capabilities
 Platforms, Domains and Interface
 Workflow and Approval Process
 Learning Content Creation
 Catalogue Features
Requirements
 Communication and Collaborations
 Data and Files for Analysis & Testing
 Administrative Office for managing the system
 Funds from different sources such as State Governments, Textile
Ministry, HRD Ministry, etc.
Constraints
 User Interface is only in English
 High chances of Plagiarism which can be checked by
inducting Digital Water-Marking system.
 No facility for Guests
 Limited functionality, capabilities and options
 Students may not get exactly what they want
– customized needs
Deliverables
 Separate content pages having information genre wise
 Simple User Interface with User Login for registered user
 A Feedback system to improve the User experience
 Access only for reliable sources
Deliverables
 A mail system to notify the registered users about the
latest uploaded materials from their field of interest.
 The ability to deliver course content over a Web-based
interface, allowing for an entirely remote educational
experience for the student.
 Content and keyword Search to facilitate the process.
This can also be used to deduce what users are looking
for.
Deliverables
 Ensuring a minimum level of accuracy
 Capacity to store data
 The website will contain information about the latest
additions. It will also have an active Blog/Discussion
Board for interested users.
 In this way, to become part and parcel of academic
circle of students in Design colleges.
Thank You!
