This document discusses using search to build with SharePoint. It covers topics like understanding crawls and managed properties, using the query builder, branding changes in SharePoint, and using display templates to control the rendering of search results through HTML and managed properties. The goal is to think about building a reusable design for search results across SharePoint intranets, extranets, websites, and collaboration sites.
Solutions can no longer simply be functional, they need to look good and provide an excellent user experience. Thought the Search Results in SharePoint 2013 are already a great improvement over our previous experiences, it is even better when we take advantage of what it offers to change how results are displayed.
In this session, you will learn how to build a reusable, beautiful and dynamic menu built from a search query. See how to build a Display Template in SharePoint 2013, so that any returned Search Results can provide users with a dynamic menu to explore and interact with them.
See the difference between Control Display Templates and Item Display Templates to build your own interactive solutions with your SharePoint Content. The Display Template will be available at the end of the session.

SharePoint revolves around Content Types. You need to understand and use them in order to fully exploit some of the capabilities available to you in SharePoint. Move from setting up lists and libraries using Out-Of-The-Box items and documents to using custom Content Types to really make your solutions shine. This session will cover what Content Types are, how to set them up and what cool features you can use once you've done it. You will walk away with some ideas on how to take your no-code SharePoint solutions to the next level.
SharePoint 2013 has FAST search built into its core fabric. New site templates and web parts have been added to allow you to build search driven applications. Through these search web parts, we can cross site collection boundaries to surface information, improve navigation and create a seamless experience across the different sites, site collection and web application. We will also demonstrate how to use cross site publishing to leverage multiple content sources. We also discuss several approaches for publishing internet sites.
Attendee Takeaways:
1. Understanding how to work with the Product Catalog site template in SharePoint 2013
2. Learn to setup and configure cross site publishing
3. Learn to add responsive design to your site

Optimizing SharePoint for Transactional Content ManagementDocFluix, LLC
While SharePoint 2010 and 2013 has a wide range of great document management features, organizations that need "transactional content management" (such as invoices, purchase orders, claims, registration forms or other high volume documents related to a business process or transaction) find numerous challenges in optimizing SharePoint for this purpose. This presentation will cover how best to configure and optimize SharePoint for this type of document management.
Winning SEO Using Schema Markup and Structured DataMarc Trimble
Schema microdata is applied to the content of a page to define exactly what it is and how it should be treated. Schema elements and attributes can be added directly to the HTML code of a web page to provide the search engines’ crawlers with additional information.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
