Reform Movements in Second Great Awakening Essay
Reform movements in the United States sought to expand democratic ideals. Assess the validity of this
statement with specific reference to the years 1825 1850. Reform movements in the United States
sought to expand democratic ideals from the quarter century time period of 1825 1850 also known as
the Second Great Awakening. These democratic ideals included voting for everyone eighteen and
older (with the exception of minors, women, insane, and criminals), freedom of expression, press,
speech and religion, election of officials, property rights, free and public education, more than one
political party, equal rights, equality before the law entitling a person to due process, separation of

God gave men the free will to elect their own salvation. There is no sin until it is actually committed.
Sin was now considered a voluntary act. It also consists of a change of heart, which revived the
concept of limited atonement. Christ did not die for only a select few predestined elect, but for
whosoever will accept God s offer of salvation. Personal commitment also involved an active and
useful Christian life in which individual action brings the kingdom closer. Revivals were made
possible by itinerant preachers. One of the most famous itinerant preachers was Charles Grandion
Finney. He is the father of Modern revivalism. Born in Oneida, Connecticut in 1792, he had a
conversion experience in 1821. In Finney theology, sin was a voluntary act and hence avoidable.
When the churches are...awakened and reformed, the reformation and salvation of sinners will follow,
going through the same stages of conviction, repentance, and reformation. Their hearts will be broken
down and changed. (Document B) his teaching of theology also put emphasis on perfectionism and
social activism. Finney later died in 1875. However, his teachings were passed on through all night
prayer meetings and anxious seating. Conversion of the world is exactly what is meant a conversion of
the world . If human nature is open to total renovation then so is society. As god desires to work with
and through human nature to transform the individual, so he works with and through men and their

World War II ended in 1945, but America could not rest....
World War II ended in 1945, but America could not rest. Serious discussion about reorganization
began in Congress and the military department in 1944 and aroused much public interest (Trask 1997).
Because the Air Force played such a large role, discussion of separating the Air Force from the Army
Air Forces (AAF) began. A proposal was created to establish one department for the United States
Armed Forces, combining all the military branches under one department. On 19 December 1945,
President Truman sent a message to Congress recommending a single department of national defense
with three coordinate branches land, sea, and air. (Trask 1997). Management of Military and foreign

The National Security Act of 1947 not only created the CIA, but it also separated the Air Force from
the United States Army Air Forces (AAF). This act established a new Department of the Air Force and
the U.S. Air Force (Trask 1997). The importance of National Security in the 1940s was still present
during President Regan s administration in the 1980s. To strengthen strategic deterrence, President
Reagan revived the B 1 advanced bomber and approved acquisition of the B 2 stealth bomber (Trest
1998). The United States Air Force has adapted since the Cold War era since there is no longer a need
for such a large force. The modern United States Air Force has aircraft designed to destroy air and
ground targets, and their cargo aircraft can be used to support humanitarian aid across the globe. The
United States Air Force is an active component of the United States Cyber Command and combating
cyber attacks against America. The Air Force has created a Reconnaissance Squadron that operates
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). The United States Air Force has been involved in the Korean War,
Vietnam War, Gulf War, and is still active in the Global War on Terrorism.
The National Security Act of 1947 created a cabinet level, civilian Secretary of Defense to preside
over separate departments of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. It institutionalized the wartime Joint
Chiefs of Staff (JCS), established a National Security Council (NSC) in the White House to

Push And Pull Factors In The Balkan Peninsula
The Balkan Peninsula is a region located in southern Europe. The northern dividing line of the Balkan
Peninsula consists of the Kupa, Sava, and Danube rivers. This region is surrounded by the Black Sea
to the east, the Mediterranean and Marmara Seas to the south, and the Adriatic Sea to the west.
Examples of physical features in the Balkan Peninsula are the many forested mountain ranges that
occupy the region, including the Balkan Mountains, the Dinaric Alps, and the Rhodope Mountains, the
varied climate ranging from cold, snowy winters in the northern mountains, to a warm, humid climate
characteristic of the Mediterranean, as well as fertile soil, especially in the plains, and diverse plants

Domestic Ring Main Circuit ( Ac )
Domestic ring main circuit
Two ends of the rings are connected towards the same terminal at the consumer unit, then the current
will travel in the two directions so that the cables do not have too much current that it cannot handle it
enough. When there is long lengths of cable, the electricity will lose its power to work and oppositely
trying to apply too much current on a cable will be potentially dangerous to anyone handling it. So
therefore the use of and benefits of domestic ring main delivers ensures that both ends receive power
evenly and keep the load light as much as possible.

Ethos In Joe Clark
Joe Clark uses the appeal of credibility of character, also known as ethos, to encourage his students
and teachers at Eastside High to work hard and improve. One example of how Mr. Clark showed ethos
is at the beginning of the movie when he first came in and kicked out all of the bad students from the
stage. These students were the worst of the worst, they had been selling and using drugs and not doing
anything to improve in school. By coming right in and laying the hammer down on the students, this
showed the students that there is now authority in the school and they cannot keep messing around.
The school had not seen any type of real leaders in the school in a while, and that is why it got so bad
there. With Joe Clark arriving, things will surely change. Another example of ethos in this movie is
how Mr. Clark ensured that each one of the students lives were doing okay and they had a place to
stay. He would always ask people how they were doing in the hallway and that made the students look
up to him as a person who really did care for them. Joe took the time and personally went to Kaneesha
s house and made sure she had a safe place to permanently stay and convinced her mom to keep
letting her live there. This put Kaneesha s trust in Mr. Clark as a person she can really rely on and look
up to. A final example of when Joe Clark used ethos is when he said that everyone could succeed on
the test and in life if they are really willing to put the work in for it. He said he truly believed in them
that they will pass if they become motivated. Joe saying that he believed in the students put
encouragement in them that they had possibly never seen. Another way that Joe Clark motivated the
students and staff of Eastside to work harder is by using the appeal of Logos, or statistics and logic. A
powerful example of when Mr. Clark used logos is when he had a meeting with all of the staff and
made 70% of them put their hands up to signify the 70% of students who failed the exam. This really
made the staff really think that they can make a big difference in these kids lives. Another example of
when Joe Clark used logos to get the students motivated is when he made a speech before they took
the exam. He made the

Julius Caesar Propaganda
I have a dream! Four score and seven years ago. We shall never surrender! These have been the most
famous lines ever uttered by a person in history. No one can doubt that. In a time of turmoil, hatred,
fear, and hope, these speakers have come forth to create produce reverence in their foes. The Tragedy
of Julius Caesar, written by William Shakespeare, is a fantastic example of the power of language and
speech in front of the citizens who believe and trust their leaders. Language is power, and the ability to
use language and speech is the power needed to rule an empire. Although sometimes used for hate,
language and speech, especially in Julius Caesar, is a potent tool and weapon used to fight for beliefs
and ideas, to spread propaganda, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shakespeare thought about the important use of propaganda as a political weapon for many characters,
most importantly Antony and Murellus. As Caesar triumphs home from his defeat over Pompey, the
audience can see Murellus clearly upset, stating, Wherefore rejoice? What conquest brings he home? |
What tributaries follow him to Rome | To grace in captive bonds his chariot wheels? | You blocks, you
stones, you worse than senseless things! (I.i.32 35) The use of propaganda here is quite obvious,
Murellus is upset that Caesar, in his mind, was unjust in taking the throne and slandering him to the
people. He also slanders the people of Rome, calling them worse than senseless beings to provoke
either strong emotion or fear within them. Power comes from language and speech here by evoking
emotions inside and making your opponents vulnerable and weak. That s what propaganda has always
been used for. Shakespeare s deeper meaning in Julius Caesar is that everyone is weak and vulnerable,
no matter who or what you are. Everyone can have their emotions taken out by others, and speech is
the tool and weapon to make opponents weak. Antony resembles this idea of a powerful figure using
propaganda and slander as his weapons further in the play when at Caesar s funeral. In front of the
many plebeians at Antony s funeral, who were in favor of Brutus at the time, Antony announced, So
are they all, all honorable men | Come I to speak in Caesar s funeral. | He was my friend, faithful and
just to me. | But Brutus says he was ambitious | And Brutus is an honorable man. (III.ii.82 86) Antony
is showing the people of Rome how Brutus was an honorable man, although he was ambitious to get
the throne. A sob story is what Antony is producing, showing the people he loved Caesar, but Brutus
must be right for killing him, he is honorable.

Process Of Making Pepperoni Rolls
Pepperoni rolls are a very common treat in West Virginia. It is not difficult to find them in a local
convenient store, or gas station. However, I prefer to make my own. I find pepperoni rolls much more
enjoyable when they re fresh out of the oven. Pepperoni rolls are quite easy to make, with the right
amount of patience. Several steps are involved in the process of making pepperoni rolls. Six basic
steps will allow you to achieve delicious, golden pepperoni rolls. To begin with, you must gather all of
your ingredients. In order to achieve a batch of 10 12 pepperoni rolls, you will need: One seven ounce
bag of pepperoni, One sixteen ounce bag of mozzarella cheese, One quarter ounce packet of active dry
yeast, milk, flour, sugar, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next, you will carefully prepare the dough. In the large bowl with your yeast mixture, add one half
cup milk, one half cup water, one teaspoon salt, one quarter cup sugar, one teaspoon garlic salt, and
mix. You will gradually add flour (approximately two cups) to this mixture. Then, you will thoroughly
wash your hands, and briefly knead the dough. You will begin forming the dough into a soft ball. It is
important that you do not knead the dough too much, as it will become too tough to eat. In a new
bowl, you will measure a quarter cup olive oil, and transfer your dough mixture. Make sure that you
have enough olive oil to cover the entire ball of dough. As you continue, you will allow the dough to
rise. This can be somewhat tricky, unless you have a proofer. Otherwise, you will fill a large pot full of
water, and bring it to a boil. Once the water starts boiling, you will reduce the heat to a simmer. Then,
you will cover your bowl of dough with plastic wrap, and place on a cookie rack above the simmering
pot of water. It is important that you keep a careful eye on this step. You don t want the bottom of your
dough mixture to begin cooking, so repositioning the dough is necessary. Leave the dough above the
simmering water until it has doubled in size, making sure it doesn t begin to cook. Toward the end,
you will begin preparing the pepperoni rolls. Preheat your oven to approximately 375°F. Divide the
dough into

Ups Promotes Diversity Within Its Company Essay
John Martin, a 30 year Senior Business Continuity Analyst at UPS, feels that the issue begins with the
entry level employees (Martin, personal interview, 2016). The employees are not given a baseline of
expectations that they need to follow. This has led to costly retraining of the new millennial employees
at the company (Martin personal interview, 2016). The last manager that the writer interviewed, Gary
Overstreet, expressed concerns over the lost control of HR costs, and the repetition of many of the
same ongoing HR issues that have led to company lawsuits (Overstreet personal interview, 2016).
UPS promotes diversity within its company literature. United Parcel Service describes diversity as
impacting its company on a global aspect. Diversity is a key issue in many of UPS s human resource
issues. The web link to the company s diversity statements will allow the writer to determine specific
diversity issues and how they impact the selected company (UPS, 2012). Diversity between the
generations is impacting companies in a way that is splitting companies apart (Mhatre Conger, 2011).
There is a gap that is not mended could cause irreparable harm. Each generation has different
interpretations of missions, goals and rules to the point that communication is shutting down (Mhatre
Conger, 2011). Technology has assisted the company in expanding globally, but it has also served as a
nemesis with the rapid expansion of social media. Venters, Green, and Lopez

Left Ventricular Hypertrophy
Left ventricular hypertrophy is defined as the increase in muscle mass of the left ventricle; It can be
hypertrophy of the muscle leading to a systolic HVG or a dilation of the muscle leading to diastolic

Among the causes of left ventricular hypertrophy are age, intensive practice of one or more sports,
obesity, prolonged hypertension.
The seriousness of hypertension arises from its impact on a number of organs (target organs). The
complications that can develop at their level explain the increased morbidity and mortality associated
with hypertension. The heart is one of the main target organs, and one of the first consequences of

Irwin Shaw s The Girls in Their Summer Dresses Essay
Irwin Shaw s The Girls in Their Summer Dresses
In Irwin Shaw?s ?The Girls in Their Summer Dresses,? Michael?s character may be questioned by the
reader. He may seem to portray himself as an unfaithful husband who essentially gets caught in the act
early on in the story. However, Michael had yet to do anything to physically betray his wife, and there
is no proof that he would in the future.
In society, many spouses or fiancées have fantasized about having sexual relations with another man
or woman. These people have probably questioned their faithfulness to their ?better half? if they have
succumbed to such temptation. However, so long as these thoughts do not become actions, they can
not be judged as morally wrong. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Frances is visibly upset by Michael paying more attention to these women than to her, as most people
would be, but before she can present her case, Michael proposes that they get a drink intending to
evade the conversation completely.
While walking Michael makes it very clear that he has ?not touched another woman? (p.1035).
Michael states right away that he had not been unfaithful to Frances in their five years of marriage, but
Frances is uneasy about this information. What hurts more during their conversations is that Michael
is painfully honest. This offsets society?s argument that it would be much better to know if they had
been cheated on than if someone did not and it continued anyway. Frances?s cries and argumentative
points show that this is nowhere close to fact and that it seems to be much better for a couple if one
lies about what he or she thinks or does behind his or her spouse?s back, as Frances portrays:
?Stop talking about how pretty this woman is or that one. Nice eyes, nice breasts, a pretty figure, good
voice.? She mimicked his voice. ?Keep it to yourself. I?m not interested.? (p. 1038)
Later in the story, Frances reveals her deepest fear that he is ?going to make a move? (Paragraph 75,
p.1037). Frances asks a demanding question to Michael of whether or not he knows if he is going to
follow through with his fantasies, and Michael answers shadily:
?You know (if you?re going to cheat),? Frances persisted. ?Don?t you know??

The Application Of Genre Analysis And Phraseology
The application of genre analysis and phraseology has great potential to inform this kind of research
and practice, enabling us to receive a more thorough understanding of how language is used in a
particular context and/or in a particular genre. In this study, the textual analysis included inter rater
reliability analysis performed by two university instructors to code a portion of the texts. The analysis
reached a satisfactory level of agreement in the four internal sections in the main study. In addition,
the selection of multiword combinations to be included in the pedagogically useful list, apart from a
corpus based approach relying on frequency of occurrence of the lexical units, with instructors
insights come into play, and therefore the task is much facilitated. These procedures demonstrate a
thorough perspective on conducting textual analysis to receive in depth and specific information,
verify the outcomes, and ensure that the results of this study are accurate and reliable.
10.3.2 Pedagogical implications
As for novice writers and graduate students, knowledge concerning rhetorical organisation of texts as
well as their communicative purposes identified and phraseological patterns obtained from this study

Difference Between Learning And Traditional Classroom
I believe the major difference between learning in a traditional classroom versus an online
environment is flexibility. In traditional classrooms, they provide a structured environment in which
one learns. The student shows up at a particular time; the instructor presents the information, the
student takes the information and tests to see whether he or she retained the information. (Chambers,
2016)
One benefit to the traditional classroom is face to face interactions. Being in a traditional classroom
setting is comfortable because that s the environment that most of us remember from childhood. Now
online classes are typical for those of us who work different shifts and people with hectic lifestyles.
With the flexibility of online classes, one works at his convenience. The ability to stop and continue
later while not being locked into a particular time or day is beneficial to the working adult. Not having
to get dressed, travel to a location, and arrive at an appropriate time takes a lot of stress off an
individual that works and has children. Being able to communicate one on one with your instructor
privately and online resources at your fingertips like the library are other differences.
However just like everything else with benefits, there must also be some obstacles. Some challenges I
see to online learning include self discipline, new technology, and time management skills. Being able
to work at your convenience is great, but if you don t, discipline yourself to do

What Is Human Trafficking
Tony Kirwan, founder of Destiny rescue, a relief and aid organization for trafficking victims, said that,
We only have 2 choices. Do nothing, or do something. Nearly 36 million people are trafficked yearly,
and ⅔ of those people are from Asia. A large amount of these victims were impoverished and were
looking for work to support their families, or were trafficked by their own families for money. Human
trafficking, mostly child trafficking, is a billion dollar business, with earnings estimated at 150 billion
yearly, in all of it s forms. Human trafficking hasn t and will never be limited to sexual exploitation,
but has a myriad of other types of exploitation. Human trafficking has been a system that runs off

Human trafficking does benefit and thrive off equality, whether it s social, gender, economic, or racial.
In countries with social class inequality, like India with its caste system, the lower social classes are
more likely to be trafficked because the system was already set against them. With that, women are
also more likely to be trafficked, because of the inequality and looming threat of being disposable.
These traffickers must have a mean, act, and purpose to traffick adults, but only a mean and act for
minors/children. The mean is the method of transportation, the act is coercion or forcing, and purpose
is what will happen once they are trafficked. Purposes can be sexual exploitation, forced marriage,
forced labor, indentured servitude, and petty crime. Countries are ranked in tiers with tier one meaning
full compliance with the preset standards. and tier 3 meaning no effort put in to comply with
standards. The only solution we have to stop trafficking is create more sanctions and stricter penalties
for traffickers, let organizations such as USAID and MCC allow to educate others on what human
trafficking is and how to prevent it, and apply more resources or relief aids to human trafficking
victims. By allowing other countries to create their own laws specifically tailored to their culture and

The Growth of the Asian Economy
Asian Economy: The growth of the Asian Economy has had positive structural effects on the
Australian Economy. The trade volumes are at record high levels with China and the appreciation of

Prospect Theory
Summary of the learning points (ranked by importance to you) Today s class discussed the mental
accounting for money management. 1. Prospect theory. The theory can be represented by a value
function, as shown below. The value function starts from a reference point, and is normally concave
for gains, and convex for losses. It is also steeper for losses than for gains. The theory intends to
explain why people behave irrationally when making choices. 2. Framing effect. It refers to the
difference in response to the same question represented in different ways. This technique is frequently
used in marketing ads campaign, such as PAD. 3. Sunk Cost effect. When people have put effort into

Secondly, according to mental accounting, we assign value and goal for money in each account. We
also set aside some expected gain before we make any investment. As long as we meet our target, then
we can relocate the money for some other accounts. By investing money long term, we forgo the
opportunity to enjoy the gain in short term. (2) Gift card I just realized the gift card is another
combination of framing and sunk cost effect. Even though I received the gift card, I didn t pay for it,
whoever gave I to me did spend money in that store. There are two scenarios on how to spend the gift
card money. On one hand, I view it as free money and spend it on luxury items, which I would not
normally buy; usually I pay for the excess amount out of my own pocket. So I spend more than I
should. Or on the other hand, I forgot about the card. Most of the gift card has fine print which states
the expiration date. Lots of people do not notice this, and forgo the opportunity to claim the amount.
Money does not expire; gift card does. Framing enables the company to put a time limit on the

Nikola Tesla was one of the most brilliant minds of the twentieth century. His father was a Serbian

It was not until 1887 he found some funding for his ideas and was invited to address the American
Institute of Electrical Engineers in 1888 (History.com Staff 2). During this he peaked the interest of

Westinghouse was Edison s direct competitor at the time and Tesla proved to be quite the addition to
his team. Together, Tesla and Westinghouse lit the 1891 World s Columbian Exposition in Chicago
and partnered with General Electric to install AC generators at Niagara Falls, creating the first modern

Edison would do public stunts to scare the public into wanting his direct current like Edison

public with fears of the dangers of electricity he would defend his invention with demonstrations of
safety and cost effective his version of the power system was. Tesla responded by demonstrating

Devil Wears Prada Essay Quotes
Devil Wears Prada
Devil Wears Prada is a story of a protagonist, Andrea Sachs and her occupational journey of trying to
balance her profession and her social life. Andrea or known as Andy, has graduated and is hoping for a
job as a journalist. Despite her dreams of becoming a journalist she receives a job at a fashion
magazine known as Runway magazine as an assistant for Miranda Priestly. Throughout the movie,
Andy had to balance her social life and her career pursuit where Miranda had given her many
problematic tasks that Andy had to complete. In the workplace, there will be a wide variety of

The task of attaining the manuscript was the breaking point of Andy s workplace, however as she
received the manuscript Andy felt relieved. After getting the manuscript, Miranda was astonished and
started to show Andy respect. After the completion of this task, Andy had responded in a respectful
manner as she answered Miranda s questions about the manuscript. This was quite humble of Andy as
she achieved an impossible task and still spoke to Miranda in a kind demeanor. If I was in Andy s
shoes I would not do things differently as Miranda is her boss and is willing to fire Andy. Considering
this, I would respond to Miranda in the same way Andy did as her job is on stake. It is evident that this
task was difficult and a burden for Andy.
Another instance where Andy had to complete a difficult task was memorizing a protracted list of
names for the fashion extravaganza. They had to tell the names of the guests to Miranda as they
approached her. This task was difficult as she had to memorize all these names by midnight. In one
instance, Andy saved Emily as she forgot the name of one of the guests and Andy whispered the name
into Miranda s ear. Miranda s reaction of this was slightly thankful however mostly neutral. Emily had
a different reaction and was impressed at Andy s work. Andy responded with a slight nudge and
smiled as Emily thanked her. I agree with how Andy responded as she didn t celebrate that she did

In court, I observed an arraignment. An arraignment is an appearance in court to hear the charges and
to make a plea. Before they appeared at their arraignment they were supposed to go through the steps
of the criminal justice system. First, there was an investigation, an arrest, and booking. If the suspect
was a juvenile, they would go into the juvenile justice system. Next is the prosecution; charging,
initial appearance, preliminary hearing, and indictment or information. During charging, the
prosecution attorneys are the link between police and the court; they must decide if there is reasonable
cause to believe an offense was committed, they either are released or have an initial appearance. At
the initial appearance, they are brought before a judge, given a formal notice of charges, advised of
their rights, and given a chance to post bail. If not enough evidence has been produced, the judge will
dismiss the case and if there is enough evidence, they will move on to a preliminary hearing. The
preliminary hearing allows a judge to decide whether there is probable cause

The Effects of Proper and Improper Business Ethics
With recent economic turmoil, ethical business practices have been thrown into the spotlight as a vital
area with which companies need to improve on. Proper business ethics are vital for economic growth
and progress as well as facilitating a productive and morally correct society. The United States has
recently suffered large economic declines, the most significant of which occurred in 2001 and 2008.
As the questions are asked and some answers given, the picture of big business not caring about the

The public malicious behavior of these individuals and corporations has gone further than dollar
values and jobs lost; it has created a lack of moral fiber throughout our society. If someone takes away
the entire savings of any given 48 year old individual, that person is going to have nothing but hate in
their mind towards the fat cats that condoned this behavior. They now will not be able to retire when
originally planned, and their finances that they have worked so hard for have now been ruined. It is
my belief that if this affected individual has the opportunity to get involved in unethical actions to
yield a financial gain for them, they will take the opportunity. If a big name company produces these
thousands of affected, bitter individuals, we will now have thousands more ethically questionable
individuals as members of our society. The crisis of poor ethics in corporate America has jeopardized
public trust, caused an erosion of organizational cultures, created human suffering, caused
unemployment, and profit losses (Poor Ethics in Organizations). This article written by Dr. Freda

standard of living. (Poor Ethics in Organizations). Ethical organizational cultures need to be upheld in

The Epic Of Beowulf By William Shakespeare
To be a hero it was meant that you were a great warrior, but still have the values of being kind and
modest. Before Beowulf arrived to Herot he was known for his heroism, which was shown again and
again during the fight with Grendel, the fight with Grendel s mother, and his final battle with the
dragon. While his heroism was shown at each of these events, there were changes in his heroic nature
over time. Regardless of these changes, he was still seen as the mighty hero throughout the epic poem
of Beowulf. As Beowulf was making his voyage to Herot from Geatland to help fight Grendel, the
Dane s already knew of his heroic nature and how amazing he truly was. He was brave and
courageous, doing many things that others wouldn t dare do in their right minds. He was incredibly
strong unlike any other man, and was the son of Ecgtheow, the King of Geats. There was no one else
like him alive. / In his day, he was the mightiest man on Earth, / highborn and powerful. (Beowulf ll,

respected for his bravery. The man whose name was known for courage, / the Geat leader, resolute in
his helmet, / answered in return: (Beowulf ll, 340 342). His heroic nature before arriving was seen as a

Cognitive Development Theory Of Moral Judgment

third one is cognitive development with four different sub theory such as, sensorimotor,

A child might know the world apple , but haven t seen a real apple yet. (Etc.edu.cn, Massey.ac.nz,
2017). But, the child at the preoperational stage still learns from concrete evidence while adults learn
in abstract way. Meanwhile, here are a few limitations to the preoperational stage. To start with, child
in preoperational stage may lack the concept of conversation. For instance, a child is given two rows
of apples that have the same number of apple. But, one of the rows is longer than the other one
without changing the number of apple. Child at the preoperational stage states that rows lengths are
not same. Because, the look of the objects gave the wrong impression about them to the child. Mostly,
children s decision making depends on their perception (Etc.edu.cn,2017). Saul Mcleod , (2014),
Limitations in the Child s Thinking [ONLINE]. Available at:

simultaneously in all subject areas. Children do understand the conservation of numbers often at age
of 5 6 and do understand conservation of substance. Conservation is something that stays the in terms
of quantity even when the appearance changes. In technical words, conservation helps to understand
redistributing materials that doesn t have impact on its mass, volume or number (Saul Mcleod , 2014).

P1 is a regular Preset potentiometer and adjusts a wide range of temperature for this circuit. We use a
regular type Preset but a regular Bourns trimmer potentiometer will work for a bit finer adjustment.
R1 is a security resistor just in case the trimmer pot P1 is adjusted all the way to 0 ohms. At which

R3 is the feedback resistor. The op amp is working in inverting mode. If we would not put any
feedback the circuit may become oscillatory or unstable. R3 makes a negative feedback, prevents
oscillation and makes operation of comparator stable.

Examples Of Sigmund Freud Thou Shalt Love Thy Neighbor As...
Sigmund Freud responds to the commandment, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself by recognizing
the culture of personal ego and human aggression shown during the laws of society that protect the
love of objects (Freud 232). Sigmund Freud stated that the only reason that people support laws is that
it enable them to keep the objects of their lives close to them, builds new love relationships, and
protects friendships with other people in the community. Some people follow this commandment
because it focuses on the want to create new love relationships with others. People do not support laws
that will cause anxiety and chaos to their family, communities and themselves. Thou shalt love thy
neighbor as thyself is a language of sublimation symbolizing human wish have a loving relationship
with others. Freud believes that sublimation has been just a function of one s ego that makes them
want, love it: it is not a conscious thought. People will abide by laws that show thou shalt love thy
neighbor as thyself because they have an unconscious want to do so since they want to be loved and
want their loving relationships protected and be supported by their neighbors.
Freud referred to the Hobbes argument that humans are naturally hostile to one another, humans
depend on their own man made devices and hostile nature, leading humanity into a war where a man
will be against each other (Hobbes 1906, 96). Human civilization is an effort to set up limitations for

The And The Righteous Sufferer
Job and the Righteous Sufferer The question Why do bad things happen to good people? has most
likely been around for a very long time. It will always stay relevant as long as there are natural
disasters killing so many people and making others suffer, many of them being innocent. There is no
common factor found among all people that suffer great physical and emotional pain. It happens to
people of all religions, ethnicities, and morality. Suffering does not seek out the guilty, it is just a part
of life. Bad things happen to good people, because bad things happen to all people, so even the
righteous can suffer, which is seen in The Poem of the Righteous Sufferer, and The Book of Job.

He simply will never know their reasoning or their intention of allowing earthly events to unfold the
way that they do (RS II:36 37). He says he does not understand the people who praise gods when
things go well, but reject them as soon as things turn for the worse, which he also says can happen
instantly (RS II:44 47). The speaker questions these hypocritical people, and seems to have a better
grasp on the true nature of the gods than the average person. He knows that humans cannot understand
the gods, and never will. Much of the same can be said about Job, the book s eponymous character.
Like Shubshi meshre Shakkan, he is a righteous man. God goes as far as to call him a blameless and
upright man and says he is a one of a kind worshipper (Job 1:8). He also endures great suffering,
which all came as the result of Satan questioning if Job s worshipping was true and pure (Job 1:10 11).
God takes Satan up on this bet and allows him to cause make Job s life miserable (Job 1:12). At first,
Job stays a righteous man, but eventually he breaks down and curses his birth (Job 3). Job becomes
exactly the type of person that Shubshi meshre Shakkan was talking about (someone who questions
God in bad times), and his friend Eliphaz tells him that. He says, Your words have supported those
who were stumbling, and you have made firm the feeble knees. But now it has come to you, and you

There are still more to discover. (Christie MOE 61). The ego of the passengers and isolation are in
sync to the theory as they are all in small space with so much hatred towards the man that it drives
them enough to kill him. Being so tight in a small compartment leads them to all kill Ratchtte for what
he did to the little girl of Daisy Armstrong together and knew what they were doing. The passengers

This law is the exercise imposed by the government and control by military authorities over the
civilian population. Martial law is the declared either when there is near violent civil unrest or major
natural disasters, however most countries use a different legal construct like state of emergency . The
imposition of martial law accompanies curfews, the suspension of civil laws, civil rights, habeas
corpus, and the application of military justice to civilians. Civilians defying martial law may be
subjected to military tribunals.
Martial law in the Philippines was publicly declared nationwide on September 23, 1972. Around
7:15pm, he broadcasted in television his proclamation of Martial law and placing the control under the
Armed Forces of the Philippines. In this situation, the president declared martial law because there
was near violent civil unrest in the Philippine society. It was lifted on January 17, 1981.
President Ferdinand Marcos was holding the presidency of the Philippines for 20 years from 1966
1986. He ruled the country as a dictator and is known for running a corrupt and undemocratic regime.
The declaration of martial in 1972 by President Marcos was his claim that it was the last defence
against the rising disorder caused by increasing student demonstrations, the alleged threats of
communist insurgency by the Communist Party of the Philippines and the Muslim Separatists
Movement of the Moro National Liberation Front.

Children and adults alike have gathered together to hear tales of war and its glory. From the stories of
Alexander the Great to recent day movies like Saving Private Ryan, war has been praised and exalted
with words such as bravery, honor, and freedom. However, Wilfred Owen s poem Dulce et Decorum

Introduction to Masdar City
Masdar City, set out as an arcology project, a vision of architectural design principles and ecology,
that appears as science fiction due to it s main structure which minimizes individual human
environmental impact.
Built in Abu Dhabi, in the UAE, this project was funded by the government of Abu Dhabi and
designed by the British architectural firm Foster and Partners. The city will also host the headquarters
of the International Renewable Energy Agency, and is designed to be the center of clean technology
companies.
Masdar city is structured uniquely, and designed to be friendly to pedestrians and cyclists. Although it
looks like a cube from a distance, its closely aligned patterned design buildings allow for airflow in
the city which cools in down by 15 to 20 degree Celsius. The city itself relies on solar energy and
other renewable resources.

Importance of Kupipakva rasayana
Heat given is of very high degree, which makes the formulations laghu, thereby enabling the drug to
penetrate faster and deeper into the tissues. Thus, they enhance the body s working system which form
the basis of treatment in Ayurveda. In Kupipakva method, Mercury with or without Sulphur is
converted in to a suitable compound, even without being reduced to ashes.
Through this process, the potency and efficacy of mercury, increases in proportion to the amount of
Sulphur burnt . The properties like small drug dose, rapid action, desired result, long shelf life,

Wicca Fog
Since the beginning of time, there have been numerous variations of religion. All across the globe,
from New Zealand to Belgium, everyone has had a denomination of sorts at one time or another. With
the creation of new religions popping up throughout the centuries, there comes with them some heavy
set opinions, and in turn many righteous actions. One of the most critiqued religions of the bunch is
Wicca. Since the beginning of it s formation, it has received more than its fair share of assessment,
demolition, and genocide. The problem with opinions on such a heavy topic, is that people don t
usually take into account all of the facts and different aspects before being quick to judge. Hopefully
this essay will clear up some of the fog in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Wiseman, Wicca is a way of life to it s many followers, it s a philosophy. It is a unique
religion, in that the hierarchy found in most practiced religions today is not present. It lacks the tiered
code, and allows both male and female to be equal in all aspects. Both sexes have an opportunity to be
initiated into priesthood, much to the contrasting variation found in Catholicism. Once someone is
introduced to a circle or coven, people are encouraged to develop their own individualistic ideals and
style of worship. In fact, it is found to be immoral to impose beliefs upon one another, but rather
everyone should create their own and embrace them. This is based on the Wiccan Golden Rule, found
in the Wiccan Reed, which states, An Ye Harm None, Do As Ye Will (Wiseman, 2015). This
essentially translates to you must tolerate and respect one another, and is held as one of the highest
values found within Wiccan

Descriptive Essay About Bo Jackson
There are many athletes in this world that prove themselves as if they are not like any other you will
see in the current generation. There are ones that jump as far as a kangaroo and be as strong as a
crocodile s jaws snap; but there is only one of these proven athletes that has all of these assets down
and can do them better. Bo Jackson was one of those individuals that you honestly questioned if he
was human or if he was a gift from aliens who wanted to create a perfect athlete. From hitting balls, to
throwing and carrying them, anyone who watched Bo for more than 5 minutes had almost create an
image in their head of how perfectly he did everything. With all these combined Bo jackson showed
how he was a modern hero with his born talents, his strength and fearlessness, and of course his talent
in gaining followers to watch him perform his magic. From the transitions of baseball to football and
the high jumping to sprinting, even at a young age many knew that Bo was not the average bird in the
flock. His talent and expertise showed his strength in being a part of a noble birth and it was not the
hardest to spot. Even with the early disabilities of his childhood haunting him in his room day after
day, the stuttering would finally stop with his strength being available at the mite of his now present
anger. During school kids would know of the beast of a child to not mess with because of the speed at
which Bo threw crab apples to others in fights and the myths or truths of him killing pigs with only the
small rocks shown on the ground. Fake or true, almost every story that was heard, told, explained that
included Bo, almost always seemed to be real to everyone. Even with the public knowing he was great
at an older age, with the starting of his youth, every kid that had heard of him knew, he was not
normal. As his age grew larger and larger, the way of fighting and supposedly being violent had come
to a stop with the opportunity of high schools sports coming up right around the corner. The general
populous knew of his strength and skill in outdoor activities but no one was aware of how spectacular
he could or was going to be with high school sports. Before football season even started many of the
teachers and

Question: What is the effect of water exposure on the time it takes for the beads to change colour?
Hypothesis: IV: Water Exposure (mm) DV: Colour Change (secs) Relationship: Increase Decrease
Reason: More exposure to water will wash off sunscreen Hypothesis Statement: An increase of water
exposure will decrease the amount of time it takes for the beads to change colour because the more
time they soak in the water, the more the sunscreen is able to wash away, making the beads of less
protection from the UV rays. Data Chart: Bead Colour Change (secs) Water Exposure (mins) 1 2 3

When left for 5 minutes, the first trial was again low at 99 seconds, the second at a close 105 seconds,
and the third at 223 seconds which caused the average to be 142. The beads being left for 10 minutes
caused the first trial to be a slightly high 195 seconds, the second to be lower by 95 seconds, and the
third was very close with 105 seconds but because of that first trial, the average was 133

Attempted Murder and Criminal Acts
In this essay, I will describe the elements of a criminal act, address the law of factual impossibility, the
law of legal impossibility, and distinguish whether the alleged crime in the scenario is a complete but
imperfect attempt or an incomplete attempt. I will address the ethical or moralistic concerns associated
with allowing a criminal defendant to avoid criminal responsibility by successfully asserting a legal
defense such as impossibility. The court was clearly wrong to dismiss the charge against Jack of
attempted murder of Bert.
A crime consists of an actus reus and a mens rea, in order to obtain a conviction of a criminal charge
there must be a concurrence between the actus reus and mens rea. The elements of a criminal act ...

Transferred intent is when an individual has the intent to cause harm to one person but injures another
one instead (Lippman, 2012). In order to meet the requirements of transferred intent, two questions
must be asked and both questions must have a yes to apply transferred intent. The first question: If
contact had been made with the intended object (Bert), would there have been a crime (National
Paralegal College, 2014)? The answer is yes, there is a crime against pointing and firing a gun at a
human being and first degree murder. The second question: If the object with which contact was made
(Pratt) had been the intended target, would there have been a crime (National Paralegal College,
2014)? The answer here is yes (first degree murder). Under the legal doctrine of transferred intent,
Jack is still liable for the intentional crime he intended to commit against Bert, although, Jack
mistakenly committed a crime against Pratt.
The defenses to attempt are: factual impossibility and legal impossibility. Jack s attorney is attempting
to assert factual impossibility to have the charges of the attempted murder of Bert dismissed due to an
extraneous factor (gun malfunction), which is unethical. Factual impossibility is when a person does
everything in their power to complete the target crime, but fails

A Study On Selecting A Mentor
Reflect on what you have learnt from the meetings with your project mentor, including the
presentation that you gave to your project mentor?
Selecting a Mentor
My project mentor was Mr Laeeq ur Rehman, who is a senior faculty member at College of
Accounting and Management Sciences (CAMS) and was also my tutor for the ACCA paper P3. Mr
Rehman is an ACCA, MBA, and CGA. He has mentored several students to successfully complete
their Research and Analysis Project. I was inspired by his teaching techniques and his ideas.
First Meeting
During the first meeting, Mr. Rehman explained me the required format of the research and analysis
project. He asked me the reason I had chosen the particular topic and we had a thorough discussion
regarding the chosen topic. He advised me to read the Oxford Brookes University BSC Information
Pack and conduct my research in accordance to its guidelines. I also discussed some of the
information sources and data collection methods in that meeting.
I was impatient about the research approach and design, so I asked my mentor several questions,
which helped me to understand the requirements. The CSR and ethics models studied in P1 and P3
were also discussed as these were to be used for the evaluation of company s policies. I also took
notes in the meeting so that I do not forget important details later.
Second Meeting
The second meeting was held when I finished my section one and section two of the project. Mr.
Rehman already reviewed my progress

Jerusalem And The West Bank
Research In Jerusalem and the West Bank, there are many holy sites that are considered to be sacred to
the Christian faith, Jewish faith as well as the Islamic faith. Those sites include: The Dome of the
Rock, Al Aqsa Mosque, The Western (Wailing) Wall, and many others. The land of Jerusalem and the
West Bank is also thought to be sacred in their own rights due to the history of who has occupied these
areas in the past. Each one of these sites is seen as very sacred in the international world. Recent acts
of violence have plagued this area. These acts have led to deaths on all sides. There needs to be a
protection of access to these sites for all people that see it as sacred: The Muslims, The Christians, and
also The Jewish population. This site is in a lot of danger because of its location, of the ambiguity
about who is in control of which part. There s a lot of violence going on in the West Bank. There are
thousands of Palestinians in the streets now that there have seen so many acts of violence. The recent
reporting s feature single independent attacks from young Palestinian men. In the past, there have been
more collective acts of violence, but now a day there are single independent person s. Due to these
actions of violence, the citizens have continued to riot. This has probed police interaction with the
protesting rioters and again more violence. A Political solution that many experts believe is needed in
order to correctly combat this issue there have been many

Alexander Hamilton Stephens and George Bush
Alexander Hamilton Stephens and George Bush A little, slim, pale faced, consumptive man just
concluded the very best speech of an hour s length I ever heard. So said Congressman Abraham
Lincoln about Alexander Hamilton Stephens.1 Stephens was born near Crawfordsville, Georgia on
February 11, 1812. His mother died shortly after his birth and his father died when Stephens was only
14. Even in childhood he was amazingly bright and his brilliant mind was noticed by many mentors
who paid for him to attend college. Stephens graduated at the top of his class from Franklin College
and then went on to become a lawyer. Soon after he was admitted to the bar, he entered politics and
began to construct an exceedingly prominent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stephens was an excellent public speaker despite his high pitched girlish voice. Often his views on
slavery were questioned. He was a humanitarian, so his slaves were treated very fairly. Stephens never
jailed of whipped them, and he never separated families. In fact, none of his slaves ever tried to run
away. Also during his term as Vice president, he centered his official duties on aiding soldiers in
hospitals and prisons because he emphasized with them. He himself suffered from angina, bladder
stones, colitis, migraine headaches, pneumonia, pruritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and sciatica. He was a
leader of the moderate faction of Confederates and an advocate of a peaceful resolution of the war.
After the war, he was imprisoned at Fort Warren in Boston for five months in 1865, then released. He
was then reelected by Georgians to the U. S. Senate under the terms of President Johnson s lenient
Reconstruction plan. But, Radical Republicans, refused to recognize the new state governments in the
South, so Stephens was not allowed to take his seat. When Reconstruction had

Assess the validity of this statement with specific reference to the years 1825 1850. Reform movements in the United States sought to expand democratic ideals from the quarter century time period of 1825 1850 also known as the Second Great Awakening. These democratic ideals included voting for everyone eighteen and older (with the exception of minors, women, insane, and criminals), freedom of expression, press, speech and religion, election of officials, property rights, free and public education, more than one political party, equal rights, equality before the law entitling a person to due process, separation of church and state, tolerance of diversity, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... God gave men the free will to elect their own salvation. There is no sin until it is actually committed. Sin was now considered a voluntary act. It also consists of a change of heart, which revived the concept of limited atonement. Christ did not die for only a select few predestined elect, but for whosoever will accept God s offer of salvation. Personal commitment also involved an active and useful Christian life in which individual action brings the kingdom closer. Revivals were made possible by itinerant preachers. One of the most famous itinerant preachers was Charles Grandion Finney. He is the father of Modern revivalism. Born in Oneida, Connecticut in 1792, he had a conversion experience in 1821. In Finney theology, sin was a voluntary act and hence avoidable. When the churches are...awakened and reformed, the reformation and salvation of sinners will follow, going through the same stages of conviction, repentance, and reformation. Their hearts will be broken down and changed. (Document B) his teaching of theology also put emphasis on perfectionism and social activism. Finney later died in 1875. However, his teachings were passed on through all night prayer meetings and anxious seating. Conversion of the world is exactly what is meant a conversion of the world . Serious discussion about reorganization began in Congress and the military department in 1944 and aroused much public interest (Trask 1997). Because the Air Force played such a large role, discussion of separating the Air Force from the Army Air Forces (AAF) began. A proposal was created to establish one department for the United States Armed Forces, combining all the military branches under one department. • 7. Ethos In Joe Clark Joe Clark uses the appeal of credibility of character, also known as ethos, to encourage his students and teachers at Eastside High to work hard and improve. One example of how Mr. Clark showed ethos is at the beginning of the movie when he first came in and kicked out all of the bad students from the stage. These students were the worst of the worst, they had been selling and using drugs and not doing anything to improve in school. By coming right in and laying the hammer down on the students, this showed the students that there is now authority in the school and they cannot keep messing around. The school had not seen any type of real leaders in the school in a while, and that is why it got so bad there. With Joe Clark arriving, things will surely change. Another example of ethos in this movie is how Mr. Clark ensured that each one of the students lives were doing okay and they had a place to stay. He would always ask people how they were doing in the hallway and that made the students look up to him as a person who really did care for them. Joe took the time and personally went to Kaneesha s house and made sure she had a safe place to permanently stay and convinced her mom to keep letting her live there. This put Kaneesha s trust in Mr. Clark as a person she can really rely on and look up to. A final example of when Joe Clark used ethos is when he said that everyone could succeed on the test and in life if they are really willing to put the work in for it. He said he truly believed in them that they will pass if they become motivated. Joe saying that he believed in the students put encouragement in them that they had possibly never seen. Another way that Joe Clark motivated the students and staff of Eastside to work harder is by using the appeal of Logos, or statistics and logic. A powerful example of when Mr. Clark used logos is when he had a meeting with all of the staff and made 70% of them put their hands up to signify the 70% of students who failed the exam. This really made the staff really think that they can make a big difference in these kids lives. Another example of when Joe Clark used logos to get the students motivated is when he made a speech before they took the exam. He made the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Julius Caesar Propaganda I have a dream! Four score and seven years ago. We shall never surrender! These have been the most famous lines ever uttered by a person in history. No one can doubt that. In a time of turmoil, hatred, fear, and hope, these speakers have come forth to create produce reverence in their foes. The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, written by William Shakespeare, is a fantastic example of the power of language and speech in front of the citizens who believe and trust their leaders. Language is power, and the ability to use language and speech is the power needed to rule an empire. Although sometimes used for hate, language and speech, especially in Julius Caesar, is a potent tool and weapon used to fight for beliefs and ideas, to spread propaganda, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shakespeare thought about the important use of propaganda as a political weapon for many characters, most importantly Antony and Murellus. As Caesar triumphs home from his defeat over Pompey, the audience can see Murellus clearly upset, stating, Wherefore rejoice? What conquest brings he home? | What tributaries follow him to Rome | To grace in captive bonds his chariot wheels? | You blocks, you stones, you worse than senseless things! (I.i.32 35) The use of propaganda here is quite obvious, Murellus is upset that Caesar, in his mind, was unjust in taking the throne and slandering him to the people. He also slanders the people of Rome, calling them worse than senseless beings to provoke either strong emotion or fear within them. Power comes from language and speech here by evoking emotions inside and making your opponents vulnerable and weak. That s what propaganda has always been used for. Shakespeare s deeper meaning in Julius Caesar is that everyone is weak and vulnerable, no matter who or what you are. Everyone can have their emotions taken out by others, and speech is the tool and weapon to make opponents weak. Antony resembles this idea of a powerful figure using propaganda and slander as his weapons further in the play when at Caesar s funeral. In front of the many plebeians at Antony s funeral, who were in favor of Brutus at the time, Antony announced, So are they all, all honorable men | Come I to speak in Caesar s funeral. | He was my friend, faithful and just to me. | But Brutus says he was ambitious | And Brutus is an honorable man. (III.ii.82 86) Antony is showing the people of Rome how Brutus was an honorable man, although he was ambitious to get the throne. A sob story is what Antony is producing, showing the people he loved Caesar, but Brutus must be right for killing him, he is honorable. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Several steps are involved in the process of making pepperoni rolls. Six basic steps will allow you to achieve delicious, golden pepperoni rolls. To begin with, you must gather all of your ingredients. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Next, you will carefully prepare the dough. In the large bowl with your yeast mixture, add one half cup milk, one half cup water, one teaspoon salt, one quarter cup sugar, one teaspoon garlic salt, and mix. You will gradually add flour (approximately two cups) to this mixture. Then, you will thoroughly wash your hands, and briefly knead the dough. You will begin forming the dough into a soft ball. It is important that you do not knead the dough too much, as it will become too tough to eat. In a new bowl, you will measure a quarter cup olive oil, and transfer your dough mixture. Make sure that you have enough olive oil to cover the entire ball of dough. As you continue, you will allow the dough to rise. This can be somewhat tricky, unless you have a proofer. Otherwise, you will fill a large pot full of water, and bring it to a boil. Once the water starts boiling, you will reduce the heat to a simmer. Then, you will cover your bowl of dough with plastic wrap, and place on a cookie rack above the simmering pot of water. It is important that you keep a careful eye on this step. You don t want the bottom of your dough mixture to begin cooking, so repositioning the dough is necessary. Leave the dough above the simmering water until it has doubled in size, making sure it doesn t begin to cook. Toward the end, you will begin preparing the pepperoni rolls. • 11. Ups Promotes Diversity Within Its Company Essay John Martin, a 30 year Senior Business Continuity Analyst at UPS, feels that the issue begins with the entry level employees (Martin, personal interview, 2016). The employees are not given a baseline of expectations that they need to follow. This has led to costly retraining of the new millennial employees at the company (Martin personal interview, 2016). The last manager that the writer interviewed, Gary Overstreet, expressed concerns over the lost control of HR costs, and the repetition of many of the same ongoing HR issues that have led to company lawsuits (Overstreet personal interview, 2016). Diversity is a key issue in many of UPS s human resource issues. • 13. Irwin Shaw s The Girls in Their Summer Dresses Essay Irwin Shaw s The Girls in Their Summer Dresses In Irwin Shaw?s ?The Girls in Their Summer Dresses,? Michael?s character may be questioned by the reader. He may seem to portray himself as an unfaithful husband who essentially gets caught in the act early on in the story. However, Michael had yet to do anything to physically betray his wife, and there is no proof that he would in the future. In society, many spouses or fiancées have fantasized about having sexual relations with another man or woman. Frances is visibly upset by Michael paying more attention to these women than to her, as most people would be, but before she can present her case, Michael proposes that they get a drink intending to evade the conversation completely. While walking Michael makes it very clear that he has ?not touched another woman? (p.1035). Michael states right away that he had not been unfaithful to Frances in their five years of marriage, but Frances is uneasy about this information. What hurts more during their conversations is that Michael is painfully honest. This offsets society?s argument that it would be much better to know if they had been cheated on than if someone did not and it continued anyway. Frances?s cries and argumentative points show that this is nowhere close to fact and that it seems to be much better for a couple if one lies about what he or she thinks or does behind his or her spouse?s back, as Frances portrays: ?Stop talking about how pretty this woman is or that one. Nice eyes, nice breasts, a pretty figure, good voice.? She mimicked his voice. ?Keep it to yourself. I?m not interested.? (p. 1038) Later in the story, Frances reveals her deepest fear that he is ?going to make a move? (Paragraph 75, p.1037). The Application Of Genre Analysis And Phraseology The application of genre analysis and phraseology has great potential to inform this kind of research and practice, enabling us to receive a more thorough understanding of how language is used in a particular context and/or in a particular genre. In this study, the textual analysis included inter rater reliability analysis performed by two university instructors to code a portion of the texts. The analysis reached a satisfactory level of agreement in the four internal sections in the main study. In addition, the selection of multiword combinations to be included in the pedagogically useful list, apart from a corpus based approach relying on frequency of occurrence of the lexical units, with instructors insights come into play, and therefore the task is much facilitated. • 16. Difference Between Learning And Traditional Classroom I believe the major difference between learning in a traditional classroom versus an online environment is flexibility. In traditional classrooms, they provide a structured environment in which one learns. The student shows up at a particular time; the instructor presents the information, the student takes the information and tests to see whether he or she retained the information. (Chambers, 2016) One benefit to the traditional classroom is face to face interactions. Being in a traditional classroom setting is comfortable because that s the environment that most of us remember from childhood. Now online classes are typical for those of us who work different shifts and people with hectic lifestyles. With the flexibility of online classes, one works at his convenience. The ability to stop and continue later while not being locked into a particular time or day is beneficial to the working adult. Not having to get dressed, travel to a location, and arrive at an appropriate time takes a lot of stress off an individual that works and has children. Being able to communicate one on one with your instructor privately and online resources at your fingertips like the library are other differences. However just like everything else with benefits, there must also be some obstacles. Some challenges I see to online learning include self discipline, new technology, and time management skills. Being able to work at your convenience is great, but if you don t, discipline yourself to do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To start with, child in preoperational stage may lack the concept of conversation. For instance, a child is given two rows of apples that have the same number of apple. But, one of the rows is longer than the other one without changing the number of apple. Child at the preoperational stage states that rows lengths are not same. • 31. Examples Of Sigmund Freud Thou Shalt Love Thy Neighbor As... Sigmund Freud responds to the commandment, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself by recognizing the culture of personal ego and human aggression shown during the laws of society that protect the love of objects (Freud 232). Sigmund Freud stated that the only reason that people support laws is that it enable them to keep the objects of their lives close to them, builds new love relationships, and protects friendships with other people in the community. Some people follow this commandment because it focuses on the want to create new love relationships with others. People do not support laws that will cause anxiety and chaos to their family, communities and themselves. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself is a language of sublimation symbolizing human wish have a loving relationship with others. Freud believes that sublimation has been just a function of one s ego that makes them want, love it: it is not a conscious thought. People will abide by laws that show thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself because they have an unconscious want to do so since they want to be loved and want their loving relationships protected and be supported by their neighbors. The soldier s uniforms are ripped and threadbare from all the fighting, and they are so exhausted that they bend over as they walk. The man that breathed the mustard gas is in such incredible pain that all he can do is jerk about as if he were on fire. After a while, the gas causes his face to sag until he resembles something from the horrors of hell. The speaker s similes are ones that cause the reader to stop and just think about what is being described ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Wicca Fog Since the beginning of time, there have been numerous variations of religion. All across the globe, from New Zealand to Belgium, everyone has had a denomination of sorts at one time or another. With the creation of new religions popping up throughout the centuries, there comes with them some heavy set opinions, and in turn many righteous actions. One of the most critiqued religions of the bunch is Wicca. Since the beginning of it s formation, it has received more than its fair share of assessment, demolition, and genocide. The problem with opinions on such a heavy topic, is that people don t usually take into account all of the facts and different aspects before being quick to judge. Hopefully this essay will clear up some of the fog in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Wiseman, Wicca is a way of life to it s many followers, it s a philosophy. It is a unique religion, in that the hierarchy found in most practiced religions today is not present. It lacks the tiered code, and allows both male and female to be equal in all aspects. Both sexes have an opportunity to be initiated into priesthood, much to the contrasting variation found in Catholicism. Once someone is introduced to a circle or coven, people are encouraged to develop their own individualistic ideals and style of worship. In fact, it is found to be immoral to impose beliefs upon one another, but rather everyone should create their own and embrace them. This is based on the Wiccan Golden Rule, found in the Wiccan Reed, which states, An Ye Harm None, Do As Ye Will (Wiseman, 2015). This essentially translates to you must tolerate and respect one another, and is held as one of the highest values found within Wiccan ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Descriptive Essay About Bo Jackson There are many athletes in this world that prove themselves as if they are not like any other you will see in the current generation. There are ones that jump as far as a kangaroo and be as strong as a crocodile s jaws snap; but there is only one of these proven athletes that has all of these assets down and can do them better. Bo Jackson was one of those individuals that you honestly questioned if he was human or if he was a gift from aliens who wanted to create a perfect athlete. From hitting balls, to throwing and carrying them, anyone who watched Bo for more than 5 minutes had almost create an image in their head of how perfectly he did everything. With all these combined Bo jackson showed how he was a modern hero with his born talents, his strength and fearlessness, and of course his talent in gaining followers to watch him perform his magic. From the transitions of baseball to football and the high jumping to sprinting, even at a young age many knew that Bo was not the average bird in the flock. His talent and expertise showed his strength in being a part of a noble birth and it was not the hardest to spot. Even with the early disabilities of his childhood haunting him in his room day after day, the stuttering would finally stop with his strength being available at the mite of his now present anger. During school kids would know of the beast of a child to not mess with because of the speed at which Bo threw crab apples to others in fights and the myths or truths of him killing pigs with only the small rocks shown on the ground. Fake or true, almost every story that was heard, told, explained that included Bo, almost always seemed to be real to everyone. Even with the public knowing he was great at an older age, with the starting of his youth, every kid that had heard of him knew, he was not normal. As his age grew larger and larger, the way of fighting and supposedly being violent had come to a stop with the opportunity of high schools sports coming up right around the corner. The general populous knew of his strength and skill in outdoor activities but no one was aware of how spectacular he could or was going to be with high school sports. Before football season even started many of the teachers and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hypothesis: IV: Water Exposure (mm) DV: Colour Change (secs) Relationship: Increase Decrease Reason: More exposure to water will wash off sunscreen Hypothesis Statement: An increase of water exposure will decrease the amount of time it takes for the beads to change colour because the more time they soak in the water, the more the sunscreen is able to wash away, making the beads of less protection from the UV rays. • 42. Attempted Murder and Criminal Acts In this essay, I will describe the elements of a criminal act, address the law of factual impossibility, the law of legal impossibility, and distinguish whether the alleged crime in the scenario is a complete but imperfect attempt or an incomplete attempt. I will address the ethical or moralistic concerns associated with allowing a criminal defendant to avoid criminal responsibility by successfully asserting a legal defense such as impossibility. The court was clearly wrong to dismiss the charge against Jack of attempted murder of Bert. A crime consists of an actus reus and a mens rea, in order to obtain a conviction of a criminal charge there must be a concurrence between the actus reus and mens rea. The elements of a criminal act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Transferred intent is when an individual has the intent to cause harm to one person but injures another one instead (Lippman, 2012). In order to meet the requirements of transferred intent, two questions must be asked and both questions must have a yes to apply transferred intent. The first question: If contact had been made with the intended object (Bert), would there have been a crime (National Paralegal College, 2014)? The answer is yes, there is a crime against pointing and firing a gun at a human being and first degree murder. The second question: If the object with which contact was made (Pratt) had been the intended target, would there have been a crime (National Paralegal College, 2014)? The answer here is yes (first degree murder). Under the legal doctrine of transferred intent, Jack is still liable for the intentional crime he intended to commit against Bert, although, Jack mistakenly committed a crime against Pratt. The defenses to attempt are: factual impossibility and legal impossibility. Jack s attorney is attempting to assert factual impossibility to have the charges of the attempted murder of Bert dismissed due to an extraneous factor (gun malfunction), which is unethical. Factual impossibility is when a person does everything in their power to complete the target crime, but fails ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. A Study On Selecting A Mentor Reflect on what you have learnt from the meetings with your project mentor, including the presentation that you gave to your project mentor? Selecting a Mentor My project mentor was Mr Laeeq ur Rehman, who is a senior faculty member at College of Accounting and Management Sciences (CAMS) and was also my tutor for the ACCA paper P3. Mr Rehman is an ACCA, MBA, and CGA. He has mentored several students to successfully complete their Research and Analysis Project. I was inspired by his teaching techniques and his ideas. First Meeting During the first meeting, Mr. Rehman explained me the required format of the research and analysis project. He asked me the reason I had chosen the particular topic and we had a thorough discussion regarding the chosen topic. He advised me to read the Oxford Brookes University BSC Information Pack and conduct my research in accordance to its guidelines. I also discussed some of the information sources and data collection methods in that meeting. I was impatient about the research approach and design, so I asked my mentor several questions, which helped me to understand the requirements. The CSR and ethics models studied in P1 and P3 were also discussed as these were to be used for the evaluation of company s policies. I also took notes in the meeting so that I do not forget important details later. Second Meeting The second meeting was held when I finished my section one and section two of the project. Mr. Rehman already reviewed my progress ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Alexander Hamilton Stephens and George Bush Alexander Hamilton Stephens and George Bush A little, slim, pale faced, consumptive man just concluded the very best speech of an hour s length I ever heard. So said Congressman Abraham Lincoln about Alexander Hamilton Stephens.1 Stephens was born near Crawfordsville, Georgia on February 11, 1812. His mother died shortly after his birth and his father died when Stephens was only 14. Even in childhood he was amazingly bright and his brilliant mind was noticed by many mentors who paid for him to attend college.
