 Be personally secured as a leader.

Leading the leaders

  • 1. LEADING THE LEADERS PRESENTED BY SCOTT ODIGIE TO NCCF ZONAL EXECUTIVES LEADERSHIP RETREAT ON 22ND SEPTEMBER, 2012
  • 2. REFERENCE: 1Sam.22:1-2 1 David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father's house heard it, they went down thither to him. 2 And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.
  • 3. CONCEPT: LEADING THE LEADERS To empower potential leaders to find, cultivate their leadership capacity, thereby accomplishing excellent results.
  • 4. LEADERS DIMENSION OF INFLUENCE
  • 5. Personhood: he transcends the organization and develops people on a world-class scale. Personnel Development: he has developed others around. Production: he and his followers consistently produce result. Permission: he has developed relationships which motivates. Position: he uses the power of his job title.
  • 6. LEADING THE LEADERS 1. Discover and develop the leader within you. Application:  Self awareness.  Sense of purpose; significance and mission.  Doing what you have passion for, doing what you’re good at and accomplishing what’s important to you per time.
  • 7. LEADERS CHECKLIST: LK.2:40  Separation from the crowd.  Confidence to stand alone.  Passion for your mission.  Good questioner and listener.  Capacity to see and hear what others do not have access to.  Sense of timing (in submission and manifestation.)
  • 8. LEADING THE LEADERS:KEYS 2. Build capacity for credibility: Credibility means believability; that is, the ability to inspire belief or trust. How to build credibility?  Commitment to excellence.  Brand consistency.  Capacity to manage change, crisis and criticism.  Innovation.
  • 9. LEADING THE LEADERS: KEYS 3. Identify the uniqueness of your leaders: uniqueness in passion, personality, and potential.  Look for the leader within.
  • 10. LEADING THE LEADERS: KEYS 4. Create the right environment. How?  Providing growth opportunities.  Place emphasis on production, title & not position.  Lead with a vision; with set objectives & goals.  Be personally secured as a leader.  Be a good listener.  Believe in them.
  • 11. LEADING THE LEADERS: KEYS 5. Communicate your vision into objectives/goals/strategies and delegate according to their individual strengths.
  • 12. CONCLUSION Until you develop the capacity of an exceptional leader you will not be able to lead other leaders. Thank you for listening.
