Leader : “the person who leads or commands a group,
organization, or country” – oxford dictionary
Leadership : “the action of leading a group of people or an
organization, or the ability to do this” – oxford dictionary
Why leadership is important?
•Leaders provide vision
•Motive power to group efforts
•Leaders make hard decisions
•Leaders make sure that the given goals are achieved
•Leaders support/ improve skills
How Can We Improve Leadership

Democratic / Participative
Encourages decision making from different perspectives – leadership
may be emphasized throughout the organization
- Consultative

Helps to motivate and involve
workers feel ownership
Improves the sharing of ideas
But Very time consuming

Leader makes decisions without reference to anyone else
High degree of dependency on the leader
Can create de-motivation within the team
Maybe valuable in some types of business
where decision need to be made quickly

“Let it be” – the leadership responsibilities are shared by all
Can be very useful in business where creative ideas are important
Can be highly motivational as people have control over their working life

Editor's Notes

  1. Good morning everyone, I think some of you are already leaders and others may take the position as leaders in the future, so I thought about talking Leadership , something important to everyone.
  2. A leader is the one who inspires , motivates and leads people to accomplish goals Leadership is all about influencing a group of people for achieving a common goal where one person leads the whole group
  3. They give us direction and tell us where we are going. Leader motivates the group member to achieve the task , Leader tracks every member of the group and check the progress to make sure that the member will achieve the targets on time
  4. Leaders are busy and when sometimes when a member comes and tell something he remembers only half of the informaiton , that will make the member to de motivate, leader shuold be a good lisenter. You can look for the key words and it makes recalling easier.
