Interpersonal effectiveness involves influencing others competently and is directly related to awareness, ability, and commitment. Leadership requires developing a guiding vision that motivates others through passion to work toward a common goal with integrity, honesty, trust, curiosity, risk-taking, motivation, and discipline. To become a successful leader, one must assume responsibility and control over situations, understand they will be judged on the attitude they convey, and recognize that private thoughts and actions will impact public and professional life.

Leadership begins with a journey within, with self-leadership. People who wish to become great leaders must ponder questions like “Who am I? What are my values and core beliefs? What kind of leader am I, and what kind of leader do I want to become? What do I care about more than being comfortable? What motivates me more than the approval of my peers and my manager?”, and most importantly “Why should anyone follow me?” IQ is a measure of intelligence, but EQ, emotional intelligence, is just as important, perhaps more important, to great leadership. EQ consists of self-awareness and sensitivity to how other people are impacted by our behavior and language. Using several powerful tools for raising self-awareness: a values survey, the “Enneagram”, this module will enhance self-leadership, the foundation of leading other people.

Achievement motivates people to accomplish goals, power motivates them to influence others, and affiliation motivates them to belong to social groups.

This document discusses using thermocline manipulation to remediate mercury in contaminated reservoirs. Thermocline manipulation was previously used successfully in Finland to reduce methylmercury levels. The quality and quantity of recoverable waste heat depends on factors like temperature, flow rate, and temperature difference. Recovering waste heat can provide significant fuel savings and monetary benefits through reduced energy costs.
Waste Heat Recovery Project
Tata Lucknow implemented a waste heat recovery project to capture heat from the exhaust of 3 ovens - an ED oven, TC oven 1, and TC oven 2. Heat recovery units were installed on each oven and recover a total of 828,100 kcal/hr of heat. This recovered heat raises the temperature of water used in the PT coating line from 85C to 95C, reducing propane usage by 75kg/hr and saving Rs. 2.2 crore annually. The total project cost was Rs. 1.06 crore and the return on investment period is 10 months.
